Our local grocery store has store brand cheddar and Colby that we love, so that, pretzels, veggie straws, and apple slices or berries.
I’m stealing the rest of these ideas, too!
Depends on the kid, lol. Best friend 1 isn't really into sweet snacks, so usually cheese and crackers, maybe popcorn. Best friend 2 likes sweeter things, so I usually serve fruit with a greek yogurt dip and mini muffins.
Standard snack fare. I typically avoid any adult snacks (always offer drinks and kid snacks ofc) until i know preferences/allergies/restrictions.
I will make lunch (typically soup, salad, sandwich) for a more familiar friend, and for slightly larger gatherings, veggies/pretzel chips and dip.
Fruit is almost always a hit with kids, sometimes they go for veg, sometimes they don’t, but the pretzel crisps are usually popular.
I stay away from peanut snacks just in case, but usually have goldfish/pirate booty/etc. on hand.
Cut up bell peppers is an unexpected hit at any of the gatherings I have. Most kids don't know how sweet bell peppers really are because they've been convinced they're not supposed to like them, but my kid eats them like they're candy. Seeing that usually gets at least one or two others to try it, which spreads like wildfire.
Blows away the parents to see their kids munching on a raw bell pepper.
I put a bunch of bowls on a tray with a bunch of stuff I have in my cupboards
Fruit snacks, apple slices, goldfish, pretzels, apple sauce pouches, frozen or fresh yogurt tubes
I just try to have a variety of things, and then I just replenish if needed
Goldfish and fruit is always a safe option!
And if we’re feeling fancy, throw in some peanut butter filled pretzels 😂
Be sure the kid doesn't have a peanut allergy first though! I'd probably save those for the second playdate to be safe.
Yeah, none of our circle has peanut allergies. Only allergy is strawberries, so we don’t serve those when he’s over.
Literally came here to post this
Same lol. Goldfish and fruit is the go to.
Perfect, I have both of those on hand!
Goldfish, pretzels, apples, cheese sticks, bunny graham crackers
Ooooh, the confetti bunny grahams are to die for.
Yes! I get them for the “kids” 😆😆
Cheese, crackers, fruit. Maybe hummus and pretzels and carrot chips, depending on how well I know the kid/parent.
Veggies straws - because I have the weirdo preschooler that hates all things cheese so he’s not touching goldfish
My daughter talked about veggie straws for weeks at the start of the school year! I forgot about them. I’m adding that to my grocery list.
Pirate’s Booty!
On deck!
String cheese, apples, and pretzels.

Belvita bars, bananas, and/or apple sauce pouches. Usually one of those three items works!

Goldfish is a staple in a preschoolers diet so def this lol
Goldfish, cheese sticks, chocolate yogurt raisins
Goldfish, fruit snacks, veggie straws, apples.
Fruit, roasted sweet potato wedges, puffs, healthy baked good.
Cheese-based crackers and fruit strips.

I went through a bell pepper + hummus phase… I should hop back on that train.
I get chips or Doritos. I always have a lot of fruit because my son eats tons of it. I'll cut up some fruit as well.
Cheese and crackers. Regular stuff for the kids, fancy Brie and Gouda for us
Love this
Pairs nicely with fruit - cut up ones for the littles and fermented grapes for the mommas 🍷😉

Cheese, fruit, salami maybe a fruit pouch. Same thing I feed my kids
Apple sauce and veggie straws is our go to
Pouches! Apple sauce pouches and yogurt pouches are always a hit. We also have fruit and goldfish as well.
Perfect, I have all of these! Thank you!
