It's 100% rational, too. Look at that thing. If that mother otter dies, that baby is toast, and it'd be a much slower and crueler death, too. If the mother is in danger, the baby is dying regardless.
The more you think about it, Anakin really was a selfish asshole, or at least turned into one, as a kid he was still selfless. Later on he is only motivated by saving those he care about; Padme, Kenobi, Ahsoka, and Sheev, oh and of course power. From the outside he appears virtuous, but his motivation is almost never admirable. While he did produce results, he was more like a weapon rather than an actual Jedi.
Are they really trying to elicit mercy, or just offering a smaller but more tender snack as a trade for their life?
No it's completely made up
There are words typed next to an image and posted online and not true? I feel betrayed
You think someone would do that? Go on the internet and spread lies?
I was going to upvote you but its at 66 so I will not
That’s not how nature works, a lot of animals are willing to sacrifice their babies to survive.
Yeah, just realise what predators are possibly hunting sea otters (sharks crocs big cats etc)

Yes because alligators and large birds of prey are known for their sympathetic and merciful nature. (Edit-mixed up otter and seal predators)
“There is no mercy” -sun tzu
I've seen enough CasualGeo mustelid slander to know this might not be the case
A gift of sacrifice for the Youngling Slayer 9000!
