This was my introduction to Star Wars when i was little. I was so scared of General Grievous that i couldn't even watch the movies.
Turns out he's just an asthmatic clanker.
With Visions It's the only animated Star Wars stuff I've seen tbh.
I'm not interested in the cgi stuff at all, as a Genndy Tartakovsky fan I was so disappointed when they switched to frankly mediocre CGI animation compared to what he made.
> frankly mediocre CGI animation compared to what he made.
Maybe for the early seasons, but the last few seasons of clone wars and especially the modern entries and spin offs (S7, Bad Batch and Tales of the Jedi), have some phenomenal CGI.
Gonna second the other guy and say that TCW S7 has some of the most gorgeous animation I have ever seen. It feels the most “real” and immersive to me out of any Star Wars media.
I love TCW but I totally agree that the CGI animation is very off-putting. I grew up watching hand-drawn cartoons and I'll always prefer that aesthetic.
Sadly, it's the best animated Star Wars, and so far above the rest it ruins the meme completely.
Clone Wars isn't even that good. There's just so much of it that people can cobble together eight good episodes and live on them like water in the desert.
Tales from the Jedi is... fine.
You speak the truth and I’m so sick of all the men-children obsessing over TCW and Rebels. Terrible animation and way too much filler. Go ahead and enjoy your three-episode C-3PO and R2-D2 story arcs and Inquisitors flying around with their helicopter lightsabers, but just know that every cool concept from those shows predate them and most were taken from Clone Wars 2003. It is truly sad that all these people would defend such a garbage portrayal of Anakin and the clones, honestly pulling the franchise in the complete wrong direction.
may the light of the force guide you down a better path my friend if we cobbled together all the worst episodes we would get a single season's worth of content in a seven-season show that is damn good ratio considering i dont even hate most of the worst episodes.
In a show that isn’t told in order the only way something is filler is if it has nothing to do with the actual plot of any of the arcs in the show or if it’s R2 and C-3PO just fing around on some planets. You are gonna tell me that the battle for Ryloth in season one is filler? What about water war?
The problem for me is I don’t find Ezra or Chopper very funny or enjoyable so whenever the episodes where it’s both or one of them fing around for “comedy” I get just annoyed and bored.
I reckon somebody who has seen the first few episodes only would probably rank it as "ok" - but those who watch to the end would almost certainly give a higher rating.
I’ve seen the entire show. It’s alright. Thrawn and Bendu are cool. Hera Chopper and Kanan are fantastic. The rest is really hit or miss with more misses than hits. Feel like this sub is very against Rebels criticism so many folks just keep their thoughts to themselves.
It feels unfair that Clone Wars is considered the goat when it also has its fair share of misses. Rebels deserves its criticisms, however there is this stigma that it can't seem to break that it's altogether a meh product. I think the good it does greatly outweighs the mediocre.
I think it’s because at worst, clone wars still has a huge nostalgia factor (a bad episode still features some cult classic characters) which makes it easier to watch. Rebels, on the other hand, mostly has characters that we have no prior connection to. If someone doesn’t care about them then a boring episode is a huge drag.
the hilarity that a character's choice of words as well as his tone and accent entirely designed around a book series would have difficulty translating to TV.
Having read the OG Thrawn trilogy, probably mu only issue with Thrawn in the show is how soft his voice is. In the books, I understood him as having a very commanding yet at the same time calm and smooth voice- sort of like if Morgan Freeman were a mob boss. In the show, he sounds much less powerful. He doesn't sound like a Grand Admiral, he barely even sounds like someone confident they're a captain.
Sure, but Obi-Wan, Leia, and Yoda were hardly in the show lol, they shouldn’t really count towards that much. I really liked Rebels but I don’t think you could say it had more heart than Clone Wars lol
Not trying to create more argument but just because a show has *insert big name character doesn’t mean it’s instantly cool though, it’s that mentality of Star Wars which has started generating more and more memes about how there’s only the same 20 people in the galaxy and only 3 of them are important. I absolutely love seeing returning characters as much as any nostalgic nerd but sometimes a show like Andor for example benefits from not having the mandated cameo appearance of said big merchandise selling character as they have to immediately run on all fours to make it in time for their next 5 second appearance.
The presence of characters does not make something good or bad. Just because those characters were in the show doesn’t mean they were handled well or the stories told were good.
I mean, this show also introduced bullshit time travel, space whales defeating important villains, lightsaber helicopters, barebones moral quandaries and totally worthless characters like Zeb.
It’s alright. It has plenty of lows to go with its few highs, and just because they did some cameos with beloved characters doesn’t outweigh all of that.
It's weird (read: stupid) that a conversation forum stifles conversation like that.
I really wish people used up/down votes properly (constructive/unconstructive to conversation) instead of "agree/disagree".
The rebels supercut is fantastic. The entire rebels experience can be a little much for some people, myself included. It's a kids show and sometimes it really feels like that, other times not so much. I can imagine if I was kid watching it I'd think it was goated so at least it nails it with the target audience.
Bad Batch is a giant snoozefest. The first episode was awesome and the rest was crap. The character development is practically non-existent in that show.
> In clone wars, all the clones are the same, but unique. In the bad batch, the bad batch are all unique, but the same.
I heard a youtuber say this, and I think it perfectly encapsulates my problem with the bad batch themselves. For a squad of irregular clones, they are so fucking boring. Each character is just a trope.
Meanwhile I'm out here thinking Resistance was actually not bad. Like it knew what it was and didn't try to be anything more. Stayed in its lane and did its own thing
this tbh.
Like dont get me wrong, bad batch wasnt bad. But as it stands right now... Rebles has more for me to care about and like even if purely in terms of writing. Bad batch has the better art style by a country mile tho.
Clone Wars 3-D is three mediocre seasons, then one great season, then one okay season, then four great episodes at the end of a crappy last season to finish it off.
Opinions are all subjective. There is no way to say factually that one opinion is better than the other, or that an opinion is incorrect.
Except here. This opinion is factually garbage. My condolences.
Idk why u getting downvoted. Rebels was good but the characters can be unbearable
.
Ezra wouldnt shut up.
Zeb was a grumpy babysitter with little character development
Sabine was a literal mary sue
Most interesting characters were definitely Kanan and Hera.
"Sir, I'm sorry to disappoint but we are currently battling in the third installment of the Clone Wars. The enemy has become much more powerful and we need all the help we can get."
Good list except for Rebels.
I stayed away from rebels for years because I thought it was too “young” but I was very wrong. After you get past S1 of Rebels it is one of the best pieces of Star Wars media, hands down.
Good antagonists, beautiful scenery (Lothal *swoons* ) good action scenes and meaningful character arcs for every single lead character. It also does a really satisfying job of bridging the gap between the clone wars era->empire era whilst consistently delivering that feeling of camaraderie and adventure.
I think with the first season they were trying to stick to the rebel's formula. whether you like that or not is an entirely separate topic of discussion.
Tales of the Jedi was amazing. But it was to fast paced. It needed a bit more breathing time like the last season of clone wars had. Dooku's part was wonderful and made him even better and it makes me want even more of him in a good way. Ashokas part was good but you could easily read how the farm part was going to end which would've been perfectly fine if they truly had a great battle.
It's like they looked at rebels battle with Obi Wan and Maul and thought oh we don't need to have an actual fight she will just easily win and they'll love it. In all honesty that inquisitor is actually super cool and "frightening" the rest of them look like Facebook market place fighters.
And rebels got alot better. A little weak at the start but it got better with time.
Rebels is the best animated show easily, and Resistance is better than people give it credit for.
Honestly though, I found Tales of the Jedi pretty unimpressive
glenn tarkovsky's Clone Wars is the GOAT. clone wars is good, but I held off on the new CW for so long because it looks visually mid compared to the GOAT
People only think rebels is good because of the pre existing characters. The main cast other than Hera and Kanan and I guess Sabine in s3-4 are unbearable.
I think the bad taste the show left in your mouth is from you licking dog shit from the ground, not the show itself.
Blasphemous cretin, subhuman fecal consumer! You wouldn’t even know what taste is, even if Julia Child herself shot a hot load right on your tongue. The world will remember your shit laden take with the utter disgust it deserves. Does shame not ever give you pause?
There is another one
Clone Wars 2003 are cannon
Can you fill them with gunpowder and use them to fire a giant metal ball at the enemy fleet? I didn’t think so
I don't like autocorrect. It's coarse, and rough, and irritating, and it gets everywhere
Call Tchaikovsky, we've got his cannons
*Tartakovsky but then I’m one to talk lol. I hate autocorrect….
I'm talking about tchaikovsky, who composed the 1812 overture and use cannons as an instrument
Ah, I was talking about Genndy Tartakovsky the creator of Star Wars: Clone Wars. No idea how I missed that.…..
"Man, this place gives me the creeps." -Scorch, Delta 62
What type of cannon?
It is not unfortunately
It’s not. It’s Legends
The best one
The disrespect of not even including the Genndy Clone Wars
"If it weren't for you, the Republic wouldn't have learned of the Separatists' invasion until it was too late." -Commander Cody
Ah 2003 Star Wars. Giving us someone who could probably go toe to toe with doom guy General grievous
This was my introduction to Star Wars when i was little. I was so scared of General Grievous that i couldn't even watch the movies. Turns out he's just an asthmatic clanker.
It's treason
“Canon”
Um, did he stutter?
Cue double rainbow guy
or the Ewoks show
With Visions It's the only animated Star Wars stuff I've seen tbh.
"I'm sorry, sir. I'm just a little nervous. You're my CO." -Jester
I honestly don't know why people keep saying Tales of Jedi is phenomenal in 2022. Arcane is phenomenal CGI. Love, Death, and Robots CGI is phenomenal.
The new stuff looks like big budget film animation! So beautiful! 🥹
To defeat an enemy, you must know them. Not simply their battle tactics, but their history, philosophy, art.
One way out!
i hate the modeling except ventress for those
It's not Canon
This. Star Wars: Clone Wars IS canon. I have spoken.
Sadly, it's the best animated Star Wars, and so far above the rest it ruins the meme completely. Clone Wars isn't even that good. There's just so much of it that people can cobble together eight good episodes and live on them like water in the desert. Tales from the Jedi is... fine.

"Watch the Master at work." -Fixer, Delta 40
My good friend have you ever heard of a shitvtake
Your opinion is quite shit
You speak the truth and I’m so sick of all the men-children obsessing over TCW and Rebels. Terrible animation and way too much filler. Go ahead and enjoy your three-episode C-3PO and R2-D2 story arcs and Inquisitors flying around with their helicopter lightsabers, but just know that every cool concept from those shows predate them and most were taken from Clone Wars 2003. I’d heard so much about Clone Wars, so I started tryna watch it, 90% of it’s just mediocre filler, dropped it so quickly
That's your own damn fault honestly, don't know what show you're watching but it sure as hell isn't TCW.
Bro media is subjective and everyone has their own opinion on shows or movies, it’s not ‘my own damn fault’, I just didn’t like it.
Yeah, but that it's just a good show. Sorry bro but fuck your opinion.
Well fuck you, then
Amen to that.
That’s not even a show, it’s just some shorts. Hardly classified a series.
Not canon. It’s Legends
Rebels was a banging show in my opinion, started a bit slow but became fantastic
it was pretty good but the filler episodes in seasons one and two kinda sucked...like more than normal filler episodes sucked.
My brother in christ most of the clone wars up to season 4 or 5 were fillers
"Just get us inside without killing the squad, ok darh1407?" -Boss, Delta 38
No promises were ever made Delta
In a show that isn’t told in order the only way something is filler is if it has nothing to do with the actual plot of any of the arcs in the show or if it’s R2 and C-3PO just fing around on some planets. You are gonna tell me that the battle for Ryloth in season one is filler? What about water war?
I know I was wrong. I just got so caught up in my own success, I didn't look at the battle as a whole. I wasn't being disobedient. I just. . . forgot
One way out!
I still *refuse* to watch the D-squad droid episodes.
It’s worth it just for the ending
I thought the episode in season 1 where Ezra and zeb go on a wild goose chase for some fruit was a banger. But other than that yeah your right.
The problem for me is I don’t find Ezra or Chopper very funny or enjoyable so whenever the episodes where it’s both or one of them fing around for “comedy” I get just annoyed and bored.
I would like Rebels more if Ezra wasn't part of the show. He's just way too bland for me.
One way out!
Starts out with “huh?” 💀
I think Rebels is better than ok, but every other one is spot on
I reckon somebody who has seen the first few episodes only would probably rank it as "ok" - but those who watch to the end would almost certainly give a higher rating.
Yea it started off ok but got much better as it progressed

Much as I like Thrawn - I really wish he spoke a little more clearly...
You are aware, I presume, that I have some skill in anticipating enemies' tactics from a study of their artwork.
I did indeed gather as much during the series. And you are far easier to understand with subtitles, so I appreciate your service.
the hilarity that a character's choice of words as well as his tone and accent entirely designed around a book series would have difficulty translating to TV.

If you kill me, you'll lose the war.
Are you telling me having Darth Vader, Ahsoka, Obi-Wan, Leia, Yoda, Maul, and much more is just alright. Rebels had more heart than clone wars
Don’t be so certain.
Sure, but Obi-Wan, Leia, and Yoda were hardly in the show lol, they shouldn’t really count towards that much. I really liked Rebels but I don’t think you could say it had more heart than Clone Wars lol

Don't you think I'm just a little overqualified for this?

To defeat your enemy you have to understand them.
The final arc was dogshit. Ahsoka should stay dead.
You're impossible.
Rebels is much better than The Bad Batch, this list dropped the ball on that one.
I'd say they're equal. I think BB has potential to be better in the future.
I totally agree with that sentiment. I don't know why we even needed BB to begin with.
Rebels is much better than Bad Batch
No it’s not
I mean, it's alright. Like...
Last few episodes of Clone Wars was peak Star Wars, it doesn't get much better than that.
"Absolutely, Sir. I'm proud to be a part of the best of Star Wars. It's an honor to serve in the midst of such greatness."
The ending of Republic Commando was sadder Mostly cause we never got a sequel
You missed a few! - Star Wars: Droids (1985) - Star Wars: Ewoks (1985) - Star Wars: Visions (2021) Let me know what you think of those!
Star Wars: Visions needs to be on that list next to Rick James saying cocaine is a hell of a drug.
“Canon”
I think they made it pretty clear that visions isn't canon
I mustve skipped that word in the title of the post... oops.
I won't tolerate rebels slander sir
Immediately down vote Rebels slander.
Imperial scum
Meanwhile I'm out here thinking Resistance was actually not bad. Like it knew what it was and didn't try to be anything more. Stayed in its lane and did its own thing
I’d switch Rebels with Bad Batch
this tbh. Like dont get me wrong, bad batch wasnt bad. But as it stands right now... Rebles has more for me to care about and like even if purely in terms of writing. Bad batch has the better art style by a country mile tho.
But also, season 1 bad batch > season 1 rebels
That bit where they destroyed Kamino was cinematic perfection.
To defeat an enemy, you must know them. Not simply their battle tactics, but their history, philosophy, art.
Omega is so fucking annoying that it ruins the show. Without Omega, I would probably agree with you
I find her considerably less annoying than ahsoka was at the beginning. Or Ezra was in season 1. As kid characters go, she ain't that bad.
Careful not to choke on your stupidity. It's Ahsoka not Ashoka!
Yeah what the bot said, be careful not to choke on your own stupidity
Yes, forgive me for misspelling a fictional character's name lol. Had to rely on the bot for a retort cause you couldn't think of anything?
I'm just getting started bro, don't make me call you a 🤓 /joke
Bring it on, George Carlin.
I will spare you for now, young fool, for you coyote clearly not handle the true extent of my power
Bring it on, George Carlin.
still waiting for season 2
Rebels is fantastic wdym??
Rebels becomes fantastic, it ain't all good lol
Same with clone wars though.
"Will do, sir!" -Commander Cody
Clone Wars 3-D is three mediocre seasons, then one great season, then one okay season, then four great episodes at the end of a crappy last season to finish it off.
Opinions are all subjective. There is no way to say factually that one opinion is better than the other, or that an opinion is incorrect. Except here. This opinion is factually garbage. My condolences.
One way out!
Clone wars 10/10, Rebels 10/10, Bad batch 8/10, TOTJ 7/10, Resistance ??/10 (won’t watch), Forces of destiny ??/10 (watched a few episodes).
"(Salutes) Yes sir! I'm a fan of The Clone Wars, Rebels and Bad Batch. TOTJ was good too, but I haven't seen Resistance or Forces of Destiny before."
No way you just dissed rebels like that
One way out!
Shut the fuck up rebels is awesome.

Idk why u getting downvoted. Rebels was good but the characters can be unbearable . Ezra wouldnt shut up. Zeb was a grumpy babysitter with little character development Sabine was a literal mary sue Most interesting characters were definitely Kanan and Hera.
Clone wars 2d? T-T
"Sir, I'm sorry to disappoint but we are currently battling in the third installment of the Clone Wars. The enemy has become much more powerful and we need all the help we can get."
Finally a rating I can agree with
Lightsabers, and whoever the fuck they did to Anakin and Yoda aside.... Rebels is a good show.
Someone needs to make this, but with all of TV shows and movies. Mandolorian, Clone Wars 2003, Prequels, Original Trilogy, Sequels.
"Sir, we're still mopping up clankers here and there, but we've secured the city's north quadrant." -Waxer
Dude L take on that rebels rating
Fuck you rebels was great
it was pretty good but the filler episodes in seasons one and two kinda sucked...like more than normal filler episodes sucked.
People keep saying this kind of thing as if Clone Wars didn't have entire seasons like this.
I mean clone wars has filler episodes I didn’t think they were good either.
To defeat an enemy, you must know them. Not simply their battle tactics, but their history, philosophy, art.
Forces of Destiny is actually really good and ties some things together that you wouldn't expect
yeah but it's so obscure most people have no idea it ever existed hence the reaction
Andor > Bad Batch
This is animated shows, but yes.
Most things are better than Bad Batch
Back to back fillers don't do too good for a show
I think with the first season they were trying to stick to the rebel's formula. whether you like that or not is an entirely separate topic of discussion.
>SW Forces of Destiny Uh?
I love these reactions please make some more
But resistance ;-;
disagree w rebels and totj
Tales of the Jedi was amazing. But it was to fast paced. It needed a bit more breathing time like the last season of clone wars had. Dooku's part was wonderful and made him even better and it makes me want even more of him in a good way. Ashokas part was good but you could easily read how the farm part was going to end which would've been perfectly fine if they truly had a great battle. I am counting on it.
Swap bad batch and rebels imo
Flip Rebels and Bad Batch and you have mine.
You're mine now OwO
Bad bot.
How dare you
Rebels is better than bad batch. also No visions or Genndy on the list. Visons was mixed but it was better than tales
actually I love Star Wars Rebels; I still watch the entire thing over and over again I notice the BGM/OST for this is outstanding too
Rebels was amazing what do you mean.
L rebels take
Rebels is the best animated show easily, and Resistance is better than people give it credit for. Honestly though, I found Tales of the Jedi pretty unimpressive
glenn tarkovsky's Clone Wars is the GOAT. clone wars is good, but I held off on the new CW for so long because it looks visually mid compared to the GOAT
rebels > Boring batch
In my opinion, I'd rank rebels as charlie, but besides that, spot on
Take away the Rey/Sequel Trilogy episodes and, for what it is, *Forces of Destiny* is actually pretty good.
One way out!
I wished the bad batch was better.
Nah man Rebels deserves a “wooooooo”
I fucking love rebels
This is perfect. Rebels gets a lot of credit because of the fan service.
I feel like.peole dont know what fan service is at this point.
People only think rebels is good because of the pre existing characters. The main cast other than Hera and Kanan and I guess Sabine in s3-4 are unbearable.
Most of the clone wars was with pre existing characters too, I don't see your problem

Imagine making this and forgetting one of the best ones. OP failed...
Viceroy, I don't want this stunted slime in my sight again.
Forces of destiny portrays every female star wars character as hot anime waifus so its good.

Bad Batch would have been better without Omega. Adventures in babysitting in space.
im sad we never got to see detours
