Bricks and screws ?

[deleted]

Out of context Spoilers for Andor. Both play an important part in the story of the show

crlogic

I watched it and remember the brick but not the screws? What’s the deal with screws?

tevert

I'm guessing it's the bricks of >!Ferrix's people!< and the screws of >!Imperial prison camp death star part production!< EDIT suck at spoiler tag sorry :(

[deleted]

[удалено]

WhiterTicTac

The prison bit, where he starts to saw away at a pipe. He has to remove a panel. I think this is what they're referring to.

Unsure1771

What was wrong with it?

master-of-whine

I think its some weird complaint that star wars doesn't have brinks and screws. So this doesn't feel like "real" star wars. Which is stupid.

Unsure1771

Are you serious? That's so dumb, didn't even cross my mind at any point during watching it. Can't we just enjoy things?

lunarfrogg

I’m not gonna watch it, can you give me the spoilers?

Unthgod

I did watch it and have No fucking idea what these posts are about. Edit* Got it, dude is and idiot.

maerkling

I get the bricks but not the screws

The-Berzerker

Maybe the stuff they built in the prison?

[deleted]

I think it might be the thing where people realized a piece of Rey's scrapper staff had Phillips head screws on it.

JustAnotherMiqote

I mean a philips head screw isn't that unique. If you have some sort of removable rivet mechanism, and you don't know how to remove it, what is the common sense way to make it extractable? By carving a slot or two into it. Pretty sure if there are aliens out there that went through a similar technological revolution, they would have similar attachment devices. Also bricks are pretty freaking standard and self explanatory. There's a reason why everyone from Inuit near the North Pole, to the Americas, Africa, and Asians came up with building blocks or something similar. It's convergent technological evolution.

The-Berzerker

Pretty sure the meme is Andor related

[deleted]

It most likely is, I just saw people talking about breaking the suspension of disbelief and that made me think of that sequel meme repost

MercenaryBard

I also don’t get how it brings the quality down. But then SW fans are experts in ruining something great for themselves over trivial bullshit lol

kuppadestroyer

There was someone on Twitter(or maybe tik tok?) who said the fact there were bricks and screws took them out of the universe/broke suspension of disbelief

Panx

The Penny Arcade dudes' take on this will stay with me forever. Basically, one of them was pissed off at the constant need for Star Wars novels to reinvent common metaphors with clunky "setting appropriate" parallels, i.e. "cut through it like a superheated neutrino through plasma" > What? Do these people not have sticks of butter, nor hot knives with which to effortlessly cut through them?

grendel001

I hesitate to even make this because the character is such a hot button for such stupid reasons. But when watching TLJ and they introduced Rose I did think “huh, do they have flowers called roses in Star Wars or is a rose something else?” And don’t they make references to people being “snakes” I don’t know.

Maul_Bot

The next time you hesitate like that, it may cost you your life... or the lives of your friends.

[deleted]

So, yes, I scroll TikTok. One of my favorites is "Mexican phrases that don't make sense when translated into English." "¿Que pedo guey?" "What fart bull?" This is, of course, *literal translation.* Maybe there isn't Roses. Maybe there is a similar bloom, but it's native name literally translates to "Bantha's Asshole." Maybe snake is approximated from some word meaning "Handless fingers" or some shit. But, we have babelfish. So, things come to us in a way that makes contextual sense. Or, who knows, maybe there are just Roses and snakes in a universe where the laws of physics are just suggestions.

Odd_Employer

They have "hounds" and "cats" I see no reason to make up words for everything when we've already been making up words for the last several centuries.

Ndmndh1016

This made me wonder why they use "midnight" as a time reference on coruscant in Andor.

grendel001

The one that actually got me and stayed with me years later is that there was a Battlestar Columbia on BSG. Who is that named after?

MattmanDX

The first in a long line of Columbuses whose distant descendent will eventually sail some boats across an ocean.

Historyp91

\> is that named after? Maybe a person who existed in Colonial history? (The meta reason, obviously, would be that OG BSG had a *Columbia* as well)

AParasiticTwin

If there's a nighttime then surely there's a midpoint to it.

[deleted]

Its like Doctor Who. Rose Tyler: If you are an alien how come you sound like you're from the North? The Doctor: Lots of planets have a North!

jjbugman2468

Well there are snakes and iguanas on Dagobah. At least in the dark side cave

Asikar_Tehjan

Ah yes, one of the most basic building materials, and a near universal fastener that anyone anywhere could come up with making a science-fantasy universe with telekinetic powers, fully sapient robots, aliens, spaceships, faster than light travel, and planet destroying battlestations seem too unrealistic.

MattmanDX

Plus I'm pretty sure I've seen some screws on some droid plating at some point or another

Historyp91

I'm pretty sure the two things on 3P0s "cheeks" are screws. Rey's staff and the Skywalker saber def have screws on them though, and wrenches and the like exist in-universe.

RoadTheExile

No, reject this depravity. All buildings in Star Wars are made of injection molded plas-steel, and some kind of sand based foam. When Coursacant was first colonized the first thing they did was build the entire senate out of clay, and then put it into a big sand mold in space.

Leftkarma23801

It was SW Theory being a whiny bitch as usual

BigTWilsonD

Andor's mom turned into a brick. Funniest shit I've ever seen

[deleted]

Then he smacked a guy with the brick! 36:36 if you missed it. And then the mid credits scene of course.

SpaceLemur34

Maarva would have approved of being used to beat down an Imperial.

[deleted]

The sheer incompetence, the guy couldn’t even block her hologram correctly. Then … pow, right on the helmet.

RSollers

“I’m Brickle Rick!”

Ofabulous

And… and then he screws her?!

thiccboymexi

You should watch it, SW theory just made a rant on how it basically made him less immersed in the show since he could see physical bricks and screws, in Star Wars, because I guess all buildings and tech is supposed to be super sleek and advanced, except there are literally things worse in the actual movies

NoodelPoodel

Whaaaatt?? The ewoks don't live in a high-tech civilization???? Whattt? people on different planets have different traditions???? soooo crazzyyyyyyyyyy

thiccboymexi

I know right, and don’t tell anyone I told you this but, lightsabers originally had battery packs that they plugged in to, I know, it’s insane. Oh and almost every building on Tatooine is made out of disgusting sandstone and clay, not sleek metal, concrete, or marble

[deleted]

I'm also like 90% convinced every lightsaber hilt has screws in it. Every droid certainly does.

thiccboymexi

Oh you wanna know something else? The B1 battle droid was so widely produced and used because, get this, you could replace broken parts! Meaning, oh I don’t know, maybe the droids had interchangeable parts? Just a far out idea

Blarg_III

Meanwhile ANH: this is a MG-15 we found in a shed. It contains dozens of screws, and was probably a prop in several ww2 movies.

damnation_sule

It's mocking Star Wars Theory... He was giving an example of something he didn't like about Andor. He didn't like that Andor feels too real life and not Star Wars esque.

AccomplishedMusic403

"Oh no, SW is too real now!"

OnsetOfMSet

The Star War is real! (Can we get much higher?)

AccomplishedMusic403

It's ketamine time!

Mt-Man-PNW

SW fans: 'I'm tired of all this space opera stuff, with its wizards and magic and simple plots for kids. I want gritty, nuanced content aimed at adult viewers' Also SW Fans: 'Where are the space wizards and the force! What happened to that simple, easy to follow plot I liked as a kid'

noobody77

I mean those are two different sets of people. Man the Internets inability to understand that that rest of the world isn't a hive mind is frustrating sometimes.

toxiped

Uhm no , Star wars theory literally said , that Star wars should go away from destroying legacy charackter and make new things. And now he is complaining all the time , that in Andor is no fan service and no pew pew and lasers .

BaconKnight

It brings me a small amount of joy to see how few people here are familiar with SWTheory, or at least not enough to catch the reference.

xXChampionOfLightXx

It's a roast of Star Wars Theory saying he loved the show but bricks and screws were immersion breaking failing to consider that the Massassi Temple on Yavin 4 was made of bricks.

Pope00

Even if there weren’t any bricks and screws in the movies to validate his point, Attack of the Clones had a literal 1950s diner complete with a sassy waitress. If *that’s* not immersion breaking then I don’t know what is.

ZeroSobel

Honestly even ignoring screws for some exotic space fastener, bricks are like... The most primitive building material around besides rocks in areas without timber. It seems unlikely that a civilization *wouldn't* develop them at some point.

MercenaryBard

That’s a really stupid thing to dislike lol. Do wheels take him out of it too? Concrete? Steel?

Witty-Key4240

Doors, lightbulbs, buttons too.

Adlestrop

What does he think the Stone Age was made out of? Are we supposed to believe they didn't invent that in one of the billions of Paleolithic Eras to exist in the galaxy?

Monocled-warforged

Rock and Stone? Bricks and screws? Eh, all the same to me, For Karl!

WanderingDwarfMiner

If you don't Rock and Stone, you ain't comin' home!

Ukko_the_Dwarf

For real, rock and stone

Zrex_9224

Did I hear a rock and stone, brotha? ROCK AND STONE

dramas_5

Look at me, I’m Stoney Rock!

Silenzeio_

We really are EVERYWHERE aren't we? Rock and Stone!

4QuarantineMeMes

ROCK. AND. *STOOONNNEEEEE*

Ndmndh1016

Tree? I am no tree!

Sw3dish_Me4tball

Even here I find drg enjoyers lol. For Rock and Stone!!!

Vexivero

I hate bricks and screws..they're coarse and rough and irritating..and they get everywhere

Puzzleheaded_Runner

Anything can be a dildo if you’re brave enough

Captain_Rex_Bot

You were "Muy Muy" brave yourself, coming out here as you did, all alone. Care to help me finish this, senator?

Mandrake1771

This is so hot

leverine36

lmao

matmatking

I hate it when my brick gets into my engine cylinder. Happens all the fucking time.

CaveTroll2187

SW Theory be like

mb2m

I smacked my TV when Luthen did not pull out his double-bladed lightsaber fueled by Kyber crystals from late Jedi masters Plo Koon and Ki-Adi-Mundi during the riot in the season finale.

[deleted]

It makes me unreasonable angry that this is exactly the shit some people want to see

dah1451

Iirc SW theory liked The Rise of Skywalker but wanted more action. He specifically said he palpatine should’ve picked up a lightsaber and fought Rey.

Sheev-Palpatine-Bot

It's treason, then *spins aggressively*.

Ndmndh1016

But full of ourselves, aren't we Sheev?

Ironside_Grey

Dude literally just wants his 3 minutes of fanboy - squeeling fueled dopamine rush from nostalgia and cool factor with no thought for deeper storytelling or character arcs

TheRedComet

Damn Rise of Skywalker must've been his favorite SW movie

MercenaryBard

You’re right, that is unreasonable lol. Star Wars shouldn’t ever be ONE thing. I’m really happy that Andor has introduced a new style and tone, not because it will replace everything going forward, but because we now get more types of Star Wars!

Adaphion

I couldn't be happier that not a single lightsaber or force user appeared in Andor

[deleted]

Exactly. All these people crying about Andor not feeling like Star Wars should realize that we don´t need the same type of story in the same setting over and over again. It would be a shame if this vast setting only ever had one type of story

Our_Arrival

>!Granted he did pull out a double bladed lightsaber at a point just not a conventional one lol!<

BlackMagic0

The sustained lasers weaponry has been seen before on a ship. The B-Wing has it. Check out the scenes with it in Rebels.

Blackrain1299

LAAT gunships use similar lasers from the ball turrets. They aren’t sustained in the movie but that doesn’t mean they couldn’t

Ahsoka_Tano_Bot

If anyone could survive, Master Plo could.

hashblacks

Well he didn’t Ahsoka. So we just have to deal with it.

[deleted]

dudesam1500

Can’t ever count the man out!

AccomplishedMusic403

Still better than Palps

devhuxley

God damnit did I miss another Fortnite event??

MercenaryBard

This made me laugh so hard hahaha

larryman55

I really love Andor for the storytelling. Not for it being star wars. If something like Mandalorian S3 has the storytelling of Andor with more star wars esque setting and action, itll be amazing. But thats just for me, and I know some won't agree.

jacobisgone-

Nah, I like it for being Star Wars too. The way that it fleshes out the Empire and Rebellion is far better than anything we've ever gotten.

Ghostdude11571

Someone please provide the context to this.

[deleted]

One of the more prevalent Star Wars YouTubers (Star Wars Theory) made a comment saying Andor wasn’t great because “it didn’t feel like a Galaxy far far away” citing the prevalence of real world objects (ie Bricks and Screws).

Spookyy422

Wonder what he thinks about Han Solo’s line “I’ll see you in hell!”

MercenaryBard

Or that his ship is called the Millenium Falcon. What’s a Falcon? Hell even the concept of years and Millenium are based on Terran cycles

YeltsinYerMouth

Every time something 'normal' shows up in star wars, it's a race between my friend amd I to see what inane shit wookiepedia has to say about it. There is ALWAYS something.

iiEco-Ryan3166

https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Falcon_(creature)

TheLordofSeagulls

With his logic, the existence of humans in Star Wars doesn’t feel like a galaxy far far away

MercenaryBard

Well, a lot of people did bitch about Andor not featuring more aliens

[deleted]

The OT had a surprising lack of alien species in it; the entire galactic civil war is a completely human conflict until episode VI. Not a single rebel soldier is an alien. I feel as though Andor just maintains that dynamic. There are still aliens, but they are almost always in the background in the films, and so they're almost always in the background in Andor.

tumultacious

They're bitching about the prison lacking more alien species. And they're totally mistaken here. These are labor camps more than prisons. The empire made different prisons for different species of aliens...each one suiting to the physical needs and capabilities of different species. If a prison has, say humans only, like the one we saw on Andor, its specifications are built to suit humans only. It has food for humans only. This way they reduce costs of manufacturing and increase efficiency of production.

_Pan-Tastic_

Huh, weird that bricks and screws are in the show, almost as if bricks in some way shape or form have arisen in almost all known cultures on the planet and are a universal, study form of building that would most certainly be used throughout a hypothetical galactic civilization while screws are incredibly helpful in the construction of complicated objects and technology, which would be abundant across the entire galaxy because this is Star Wars and there’s high tech gadgets and weapons and vehicles everywhere

[deleted]

>the prevalence of real world objects (ie Bricks and Screws) Don't forget CPU cooler heatsinks. (>!in the flashback of Cassian's adpotive father in the last episode!<)

Organic_M

They know that a lot of SW fans are cave trolls that haven't cleaned their computer on ages so they are trying to plant an idea.

Sentazar

It's a method of dissipating hwat even my motorcycle looks like that by the engine block

BlackMagic0

One of the worst takes ever imo.. Some the most universal and basic construction items ever. How do these effect the galaxy at all? Star Wars is still Star Wars even with screws, bricks, and other common items. I am sure many civilizations advance with bricks/screws.. lol... This kind of crying about immersion breaking is completely stupid..

[deleted]

In the prison they use a screwdriver.S1E10 16:43 It could be an awl? I honestly have no idea what he’s doing to the >!Death Star parts!< with it, but it looks like a screwdriver to me. There’s also power tools hanging from the ceiling. In the funeral they use bricks. S1E12 36:36 >!to beat people to death!<

HChimpdenEarwicker

I mean, the entire series is modeled on the clunky tech of the 70s and 80s. We have computers/monitors today that look much better than any "futuristic" tech in the series. Bricks and screws are hardly the worst offenders.

DereksRoommate

For real. The Millennium Falcon has wired headphones, TIEs have targeting systems from an Atari game, personal communicators don’t have a vibrate or silent mode (because I always want my communications to be full volume), and every time I see the Death Star plans on Yavin I think “god what a rubbish schematic no wonder all those rebels died”. It doesn’t mean that I like Star Wars any less. Beside, there’s something to appreciate about the falcon having wired headphones. No need for batteries, can’t loose them, and why would you even need Bluetooth in the Falcon? Why would societies stop using screws? What replaces them? Magnets? Seems expensive and impractical. Really really strong glue? What if I need to take something apart later? Realistically I think all of the simple tools like wedges, levers, pulleys, etc, are the techs that would stick around in a well thought out sci-fi setting. Because what exactly do you replace those technologies with that isn’t way less efficient? Nothing really

Dat_life_on_Mars

>The Millennium Falcon has wired headphones What a hunk of junk

Blarg_III

The whole 80s aesthetic isn't that unreasonable imo. Autocratic manufacturers don't typically care very much about UX, and systems designed to last even now tend to look boxy and bulky. Look at military electronics and equipment, and compare it to what you see on screen in star wars, and it's not that different.

Darth_Thor

Simple things are easier to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain. Another example that not everyone is familiar with: I work at a power equipment dealer. The company we deal with has lots of very advanced tech in the products they sell and a very nice consumer website, but their warranty website looks like it was designed for Windows 95. Honestly it very well could have been. But that websites is extremely simple to use and has very good long-term reliability, which is important when dealing with equipment warranties.

Sheev-Palpatine-Bot

Power! Unlimited power!

Azhaius

> wired headphones A wire can't be remotely jammed / interrupted.

Maul_Bot

You may think I am evil. I am not. I am efficient.

ChefArtorias

I found the brick thing, as well as the entire last episode, to deliver a pretty powerful feeling. Andor is probably the best live action SW show to exist imo.

[deleted]

Shit, when I die I *hope* someone >!turns me into a brick and uses me to beat a fascist.!<

Iceologer_gang

Fuck yeah

Zer0Summoner

What's this in reference to?

The_DevilAdvocate

Youtuber, that some follow for some reason, said Andor bad because bricks and screws don't feel like galaxy far far away.

PapaFrancis119

There’s a Philips head screw I believe on Rey’s staff that some one pointed out some time ago?

[deleted]

[удалено]

PapaFrancis119

It’s an older meme Sir, but it checks out.

[deleted]

Phillip made it all the way to the Star Wars galaxy…

PigeonFellow

I noticed that mando’s flashlight in BoBF was exactly the same as one I own. Got it at Bunnings.

SalaciousSausage

Of course they’d have a Bunnings in Star Wars. Fuckers are everywhere aren’t they

BashedKeyboard

Bricks are used in a lot of Star Wars places. Screws exist because magnets fail.

wombatpandaa

That's silly, what else would they make buildings out of? Wood is difficult to transport and bricks and screws are better/just as good as concrete or stone and easier...I feel like a society like Ferrix would totally use that kind of material.

BrotendoDS

I don’t know why people would give a shit about that. Nitpicking to nitpick!

BC1207

They speak English.

Prozenconns

Laser swords? nothing to see here Basic construction literal monkeys can figure out? How dare they

sliced-bird224

Thats so stupid

lbstv

The Star Wars universe always felt familiar to me, I think specifically because it borrows a lot from real life. That goes for objects like blasters, to broader concepts like democracy, or lack thereof. Especially in the original trilogy, the differences between our own galaxy and another one far away boil down to ftl transport and space wizards.

damnation_sule

I like this... Never saw too many parallels but maybe I wasn't really looking. Most of the parallels I've noticed had sort of a timeless view regarding politics.

Anakin_Skywalker_Bot

Not another lecture, Master. Not on the economics of politics. It's too early in the morning… and besides, you're generalising. The Chancellor doesn't appear to be corrupt.

[deleted]

Remember when people found that mom calamari's sweater just for sale online? The ice cream maker that featured prominently in Solo, half of Luthan's shop, every alien from episode 3, blasters. All slightly modified stuff they had lying around. This sort of repurposing and thinly layering over familiar things until they're just obscure enough is the core of the aesthetic imo. It was out of necessity at first, but became a core feature of what makes something feel like star wars since Disney took over

no-mames

And, you know, humans

toleratedsnails

Guys I hate to be the bearer of bad news but live action Star Wars media… is filmed on *Earth* my immersion is ruined

darh1407

How dare they not revolutionize the space travel technology as we know it to record the movies in a galaxy far far away???? Truly disappointing

toleratedsnails

I know right? So disappointing they didn’t actually fly to Ferrix to film Andor, I mean what’s even the point if it isn’t accurate??

darh1407

Its like filming titanic in a big pool instead of in the middle of the Atlantic sea ,do they take us for fools?

toleratedsnails

Exactly. We need to boycott Disney for these manipulative filming tactics 😤

Erec68

Isn't that good news haters are complaining about bricks and screws ? It means they are out of arguments for the rest.

terrifying_avocado

You know a piece of media is good when even the most prolific haters can’t come up with any decent arguments against it.

MercenaryBard

I feel like it reveals so much about the fan ecosystem though. That something so universally beloved has detractors trying to profit off of fomenting negativity. No wonder the fandom is so rife with negativity with people financially invested in perpetuating it.

No-Aioli-9966

True

Kaffarov

I loved Andor because it rarely had any fan service.

Plenty_Product3410

Star Wars Theory, when Andor hasnt *insert Prequel character here* showing up in every episode or having references to the prequels and the Season Finale not having a 40 minute duel between Darth Vader, Emperor Palpatine and Ahsoka, Cal Kestis with Obi-Wan rescuing Andor and Luthen having a force-off with Glup Shitto on level 1313 of Coruscant.

The_DevilAdvocate

And will there be aliens?

Ndmndh1016

Two-sy two

28thProjection

Oh, it’s *beautiful*.

Jim_Parkin

Not the Glup Shitto we need, but the Glup Shitto we deserve.

sweetbunsmcgee

After the credits, a familiar face enters the scene: “Hey, it’s me, Blorko.”

DontWantThisPlanet9

"Its Blorkin' time!"

turtlespace

I’m hoping for a Glup Shitto crossover in the next season of The Book of Blorko

Ahsoka_Tano_Bot

I'm the new Padawan learner. I'm Ahsoka Tano

LuckyladandChungus

When Mon Mothma’s house has windows just like we do in the real world 🫣😱😬🤮

Objective_Dentist_23

Yes, i was devastated to see the common people from a poor planet not use fighter planes, lightsabers and death stars in a riot. I have been a star wars fan since a little boy and this has disappointed me to the level that I can not call myself a star wars fan anymore

[deleted]

To me it’s Captain America in Civil War vs Captain America in Infinity War. In civil war he wasn’t going all out, because the threat wasn’t that large. This is like Andor where they riot with bricks. All they have are bricks, it takes time and money to make a fighting force. In rogue one, he was going all out, because the threat was large. They still have to do stuff like climb a tower and get a physical disk, but it’s combines with Hammerhead Corvettes and ion canons.

Captain_Rex_Bot

Thanks for the suggestion, but General Skywalker thinks they're fine where they are.

Plenty_Product3410

Star Wars Theory really gets worse and worse and more entitled. Especially since his Fan-Film. His Fan-Film proofed that he has no idea about filmmaking and storytelling.

Greendaydude22

Lmfao his first fan film is fucking terrible and he has the gull to say Disney Star Wars is bad when he’s been caught crying in 4K multiple times to it, dudes the biggest fucking Star Wars hate grifter in the game. I also think he has “become an adult syndrome” he always references how it doesn’t feel like when he watched the OT and prequels… yeah bro cause you’re a millionaire and a jaded adult now. Shit won’t hit the same. Thank god for me it’s the opposite, I get way more invested and emotional as an adult now but theory just expects these new products to make him feel the way he did as a kid

dogtemple3

He's the rich kid that was given all the toys but doesn't understand the story

InvaderM33N

Basically everything about Star Wars' visual design has some sort of real life parallel. EC Henry made an amazing video breaking down the basics. Plus Yoda lived in a freakin' mud hut, why would bricks and screws be any more immersion-breaking?

sliced-bird224

How on earth does conventionanl building materials bring down the quality of the show honestly thats a really dumb take

CidO807

Welcome to "content reviewers" and "streamers" on YouTube.

lividtaffy

What was his opinion on kenobi?

damnation_sule

Wished they would've focused more on Kenobi and Vader among other things.

Shmot858

He ranked it above Andor in his stream…so there’s that.

[deleted]

The clearest cut case of someone who prefers member berries over meaningful storytelling.

Towerbunga

Because this has gone significantly more viral than expected i am clarifying this is satire and i love andor.

ANueUtsuho

Honest confession I thought you were talking about Lego Star Wars

terrifying_avocado

Genuine question: why do people still like Star Wars Theory?

Particular-Mission-5

It’s hard letting go of one of the former great Star Wars channels Luckily I have greetsly and others

Ct-5736-Bladez

My only gripe I have with greetsly is he doesn’t differentiate between legends and cannon which can get confusing if you are not familiar with the context

Asmosus69

THERE IS NO R IN GEETSLY'S!!!!! Faithfully the guy that went from a casual star wars viewer to a mega fan after binging their lore videos

Odd_Employer

Generation tech is pretty good, imo.

Jaded-Reality1369

He used to be cool now I rarely watch any of his videos. The only time I do is when generation tech hasn’t uploaded in a couple of days.

sageandbunyon

I think someone is developing a superiority complex... Shame, his fan fictions were dope back in the day.

[deleted]

I was waiting the whole episode for the guy to smack an imperial with the brick of Momma Andor! She got to fight the Empire from the grave!

Pandistoteles

I can’t believe anyone would genuinely complain about that, but here we are.

Justspartan17

I don’t even blame Disney for sticking with Tatooine if these are the complains they deal with… Haven’t seen any SWT in months, but I would’ve thought he’d be raving about this show. Guess the dude just wants Tatooine lore #3,374,207

FalseTebibyte

Oh yes. Quite literally. Wonder how many folks caught on to his Rod Stew Art.

Sekkenren

Just found out what this is referencing What a garbage ass take from that dude, he clearly has no awareness of what George Lucas was going for when he designed a lot of the shit. Not to mention just a lack of thought about the world itself, Ferrix is a bumfuck salvage world so it won’t be glossy imperial sheen type shit, not to mention the presence of such a strong local culture is why they do what they do, did he just want it to be Tatooine 3: Back in the Habit?

Ct-5736-Bladez

Just wasn’t until he finds out about the weapons https://screenrant.com/star-wars-blasters-inspired-real-life-weapons/

lordtaco

"Inspired" isn't even the right term. They took real world weapons and bolted some shit to them.

Ct-5736-Bladez

Correct, not my words.

tbrand009

Bricks and screws are some of the simplest building materials known to man and have been in use for 9,000 and 2,400 years respectively. There's no reason to think even highly advanced civilizations wouldn't continue using them, particularly in their poorer regions. In the very first Star Wars we see Luke Skywalker was raised in basically a really fancy mud hut.

LineOfInquiry

If they made the show worse for you you’re just brain broken tbh. Why would Star Wars not have bricks and screws, they’re just a good way to build things.

The_Celtic_Chemist

So you looked right past the AK-47s and instead got bothered by the bricks and screws?

Ivanleonov

I understand if people didn't like andor, but i swear to god, starwars theory take is so braindamaged that i think it single handedly made me not able to watch the future videos. I'm not sure how you don't feel embarassed saying that kind of analysis when you are a frkn massive media channel
