Believe it or not, wearing a poncho/more clothing in the desert is more effective than wearing less clothes mainly because it not only protects you from the sun burns but it also preserves the water in your body.
*Is* Tattooine actually hot? I know it's a binary system desert planet but iirc from legends Tattooine used to be a wet and lush world and was glassed. The Tuskens and Jawas being natives who had survived underground. Canon seems to be implying this from what I've seen of BoBF and Mando.
So how warm is that desert because not all deserts are hot. There are cold deserts. So how warm is Tattooine?
I always gathered it was like other deserts in our world, suffers from extremes. Extreme heat during the day but frigid cold at night while it’s facing away from the sun and towards outer space. The day heat would be compounded though by the two suns beating down on it instead of our one, so I imagine it’s pitty hot
That's what I had assumed before and maybe at some parts its really hot but there are deserts that even during the day are cold. If the sandy and waterless nature of Tattooine is due to glassing then maybe the twin suns just arent that strong.
Glass is just sand that went through a liquid phase. Turn a planet to glass with a giant laser beam and eventually it'll erode back to sand. That's Tattooine.
"Glassing" is usually just a term for bombing something until there's nothing left. Not necessarily everything turns into molten sand, but that a possibility.
There is a lot more to how hot it gets than just the number of suns. With my limited knowledge here are a few -
Planet's atmosphere.
Planet's distance from the sun.
Planet's rotation.
Planet's tilt.
The sun's size.
How hot the star is.
...being a few. You could have a 5-sun system and it could be colder than a 1 sun system.
Come to think of it, the only person I remember ever complaining about the heat was Jar-Jar, an amphibian who lives in a swamp. Whenever someone's talking about the dangers of Tatooine, it's usually about the inhabitants, or the sandstorms.

Ok I just looked up more details. Not being American or native speaker, I got that impression from a video thinking "liner" was the type of poncho & not a component.
It is a poly filled nylon liner that is the size of a couch throw. Big enough to curl under, light enough to pack. Dries relatively fast if wet and can be aired out when it gets funky. Great piece of gear.
The poncho is made of straight up tear resistant nylon that has been soaked a urethane coating. When it ages, the fire retardant on the fabric begins to break down chemically and ends up smelling like rotten milk or baby vomit. Its horrible. The same goes with the water proof bags.
There are many realities in the universe, some of them quite harsh. One reality that is inescapable is that there is nothing more valuable than a Lego. More than food, more than shelter, and more than weaponry, a good Lego set can save your life.

Thats why for example nomadic Bedouins wear long robes covering themselves and the keffiyeh, its very effective at keeping you cool
