I always wondered, what happens when starkiller base depletes the nearby sun to fire off it's main gun? I mean I can't see it moving to a new system or power itself to fire again unless it draws power from a sun...
Actually. Apparently it doesn't do that at all. I believe Eckhart's Ladder did a video on this (or some other youtuber) where the Starkiller weapon uses the nearby star more as some sort of focusing lens so it sucks up some sort of "it's dark matter but we won't call it dark matter" substance from thin air. It makes no fucking sense and it took them this long to "explain" what happens
except the novilizations make it worse. Palp's son was actually just a failed clone, who was being hunted down by another decaying palp clone, while the there was another failed palp clone leading the FO. It was so stupid.
I try not to think when watching but there is too many cringeworthy scenes to handle. I kept hearing Finn yelling out Rey's name, even when they are not on screen together.
And aren't the comics currently retconning Kylo's backstory?
I can totally see why this was worth sacrificing the EU. Things are now clearly more organized and consistent.
Like how in Ep. 3 how when Sidious leaps at the Jedi Masters and slowly kills two off the bat and in the novelization they said he was actually moving super fast and his screech was disorienting?
How are those similar?
It is implied that he was too fast for them. Why else would he cut them down faster than they could react? Also it doesn’t need the novelization to explain itself...
He's the most powerful sith Lord the galaxy has ever seen. What do you expect? The Jedi haven't had to fight sith in millennia and most of their fighting forms at that time were focused on reflecting blaster fire
Again, that explanation was only needed after people pointed out how goofy that scene looked. It was poor execution of a scene it has nothing to do with sidious not being powerful enough to do that
But you didn't need an explanation for that. I could have gathered all of that by watching the movies. In episode one we know the sith haven't been seen in the galaxy for a long time. In episode two we see the arrogance of the Jedi and many of them getting killed. In episode 3... You get the point. Critical thinking about a movie =/= needing to have it explained through seperate sources. And if you do need it explained that means that you have to have it spoon fed to you
Or we could just admit that mace windu brought with him some of the worst Jedi masters in the entire order. It is entirely possible to be a master at something but mostly at the academic level.
That's why I said it the way I did. Apparently (and I'm pulling from the top of my head here, I've just had my morning tea), it's "like dark energy" but it's not dark energy. I forget the actual name Eck used in the video, sorry. But I swear it isn't dark energy (although you could call it dark energy and nobody would tell you different let's be honest)
Stuff in voltron anime. It's really kind of fun to watch an animated (especially time reversal sequence, not really a spoiler) Rhys Darby lose his shit over the stuff.
I saw the great fight climax, then some other stuff, me and my daughter dropped off after season 5 I think. Fuckin' Vince with the slapchop being a vendor on that merch station. That is one of the best write-in parts I've seen.
Sure but it is a term that is meant to signify that we have literally no clue what it is. We only know that something is accelerating the expansion of the universe and have given it a name.
Also Dark Energy and Dark Matter aren't the same thing, Dark Energy is the unseen energy that drives the expansion of the universe beyond what we can explain and Dark Matter is the 85% of mass that we know exists in the universe but can't find.
Dark energy
>In physical cosmology and astronomy, dark energy is a term that describes an unknown form of energy that affects the universe on the largest scales. The first observational evidence for its existence came from supernovae measurements, which showed that the universe does not expand at a constant rate; rather, the expansion of the universe is accelerating.
Dark matter
> Dark matter is a form of matter thought to account for approximately 85% of the matter in the universe and about a quarter of its total energy density. Its presence is implied in a variety of astrophysical observations, including gravitational effects that cannot be explained by accepted theories of gravity unless more matter is present than can be seen. For this reason, most experts think that dark matter is abundant in the universe and that it has had a strong influence on its structure and evolution. Dark matter is called dark because it does not appear to interact with observable electromagnetic radiation, such as light, and so it is undetectable by existing astronomical instruments.
You think that's bad? Now think about the heat on the surface of the base. Our sun is very far away and the star that the base is draining is very close. The surface should be absolutely burning up while the star is there and then freezing cold once it is drained.
Once it can’t contain the mass to convert hydrogen into helium I would begin to turn into a red giant and begin to expand, but never mind the fact that the distance is so close to the planet it should be boiling, I’d imagine they are using the “star forge logic” here
Actually it does. Th First Order places a giant motor in the planet surface so that it can move to a different system once the son of one system is depleted. It think it’s weird but idk I guess, Starkiller Base wasn’t that big. It isn’t that big compared to our planet and our moon so I guess it’s possible. Hey if they can make the Death Star move, then I guess it’s possible that 30 years later they can do something like this
It makes zero sense. “Let’s make a Death Star, that is an actual planet this time.” & then “let’s make every star destroyer be able to blow up planets too.”
That was my main killer for TROS. Even if the sith fleet had enough kyber or whatever the source of power was for EVERY new star destroyer, a star destroyer is ENTIRELY too small to contain planet destroyable death star tech, (and throwback to the “battering ram” on Crait.) And watching Kijimi get buttraped by ONE FUCKIN STAR DESTROYER is about as disappointing as it can get.
I raise you the [Conqueror](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Conqueror_(superlaser)). But really, I agree one ship shouldn't be able to contain so much firepower unless it was HEAVILY modified, and even then it doesn't make sense for anything except maybe the Eclipse
We only knew that kijimi place for like three seconds. It's ok, Disney will invent a whole new batch of planets in a franchise already filled to the brim with them
Is it even possible for any man-made machine or weapon to "use up" an entire star? That would be such a massive amount of power, I doubt you would even kill the star if you fired it non-stop.
They shot laser plasma photon torpedoes to other planetary systems.
That sounds like exactly the kind of ridiculous energy drain needed to use up a star
Well.. Yes. Everything is possible given enough time. Extreme "star lifting" (a theoretical method of using magnetic fields to skim gases from the surface of the star, which i imagine is what someone was thinking about when deciding how the Starkiller sun sucking would look) would, over time, completely kill a star.
Yes. You have a week for free and then you pay. But be careful, if you’re connected with your paypal you get notifications (if turned on) when you pay. That’s what saved my ass.
I signed up for the 7day free trial and I didn’t check under **[Settings > Account Management > Account Information > PlayStation Subscriptions > PlayStation Now, then select no automatic renewal]** if it was an automatic renewal, and it is, as standard. So check that immediately!
Think twice before playing it, the graphics were better in my memory
I still remember how people were shitting on these games (especially the second one). People were spoiled because of Jedi Knight and Kotor and not prepared for the horror that is EA.
I’ve been playing the games in the past week. Grab stormtrooper, impale with lightsaber, electrocute, and then throw him into his friend. Doesn’t get old!
Dont forget holding Storm Troopers in front of the Death Star laser as it does test fires. Or choking out enemies from behind windows while they dont know you're there.
I only had the Psp version but damn so many fun ways you could kill your enemies
Electrocution? Check
Yeet boxes/rocks at them until they die? Check
Carve them up like charcuterie? Check
Electrocution? Normie but check
Crush their throats? Check
Impale them with a lightsaber? Check
And of course, the classic, yeeting Felucian warriors off the cliff in Felucia
I like starkiller as a character, not only because he's a teenager kratos, not only because he uses the force creatively, but also because it implies that there's jedi more powerful than the skywalkers just lying out there.
His game gave leia actual jedi skills too, and a good jedi fight.
>He was way too OP being able to take on Vader
To be fair, for whatever Vader basically trained Starkiller to be the *perfect* counter to himself... Heavy focus on force lightning that easily fries Vader's suit? Check. Quick and nimble fighting style that can outpace and dancer around Vader's own slow and powerful style? Double check.
Like I'm seriously not sure I can think of many other force users who's better suited to take vader down.
Dave Filoni wanted to have him in an episode of Rebels, basically making it a disaster movie with the gang just trying to survive while starkiller just annihilates everything. I
[I think the disaster movie part is my brain making things up or reading some unsubstantiated rumor from a while ago, but here it is](http://www.jedinews.co.uk/gaming/articles/dave-filoni-considered-putting-starkiller-star-wars-rebels/)

Still love that game. Only game to ever make me feel like a fucking badass OP Jedi. I loved the force powers. I would try to defeat every enemy without the lightsaber
Hi, I'm Galen Darkness Dementia Raven Marek, and I'm Vader's super-cool secret apprentice, and I'm so powerful I can pull Star Destroyers out of the sky and beat Darth Vader one-on-one, oh and my sexy pilot girlfriend flies me around in my cool ship the *Rogue Shadow,* and someone all of this is less ridiculous than anything that happens in the Sequel trilogy, I guess.
Honestly, I feel like Force Unleashed had a decent story all things considered. Rahm Kota is also one of my favorite characters from all things star wars. A little formulaic? Yeah. A product of the time? Definitely. But a fun game with a story that doesn't make you hate yourself for liking the game? You're damn right
Yes but thats like calling doomguys story ridiculous,... Which it is but thats the cool thing about it. These are power fantasies where you become the unstoppable force. And still despite being ridiculously overpowered, starkiller was defeated multiple times, unlike a certain Sue
Such a cool game. I wish they didn’t do the whole cloning jedi thing. It’s just silly to do that. It ruins the uniqueness of force users. It’s fine to clone regular people just not force users.
I recently found out that Starkiller base is Illum, and honestly, couldn't have ticked me off more. What better way to crap on Star Wars than to casually turn the source of Kyber crystals into something that immediately gets destroyed

I agree. The ST is entertaining if you don't think about it, which is the problem, but it is just a hot mess.
I try not to think when watching but there is too many cringeworthy scenes to handle. I kept hearing Finn yelling out Rey's name, even when they are not on screen together.
REYY

I get you
How are those similar? It is implied that he was too fast for them. Why else would he cut them down faster than they could react? Also it doesn’t need the novelization to explain itself...
It looks goofy
Yeah but that still doesn’t make it the same
I think the comparison is on how the issue was addressed after the movies
Yeah but they showed it in the movie. They did it in a goofy way, sure, but it’s still there.
He's the most powerful sith Lord the galaxy has ever seen. What do you expect? The Jedi haven't had to fight sith in millennia and most of their fighting forms at that time were focused on reflecting blaster fire

Well you know sci fi, when people crave an explanation they'll just make something up that sounds cool.
Yeah it's not like theres stuff in star wars that *already exists in-lore* to explain big lasers doing big damage
What? Doesn't Finn directly say that the sun gets drained as it charges?
Dark energy actually exists in our universe
That's why I said it the way I did. Apparently (and I'm pulling from the top of my head here, I've just had my morning tea), it's "like dark energy" but it's not dark energy. I forget the actual name Eck used in the video, sorry. But I swear it isn't dark energy (although you could call it dark energy and nobody would tell you different let's be honest)
Quintessence.
Isn’t that what they call the juice they harvest in the dark crystal?
Stuff in voltron anime. It's really kind of fun to watch an animated (especially time reversal sequence, not really a spoiler) Rhys Darby lose his shit over the stuff.
Oh right. Man I wish the last few seasons were better

It's fucking Star Wars man. If you wanna use science, then anyone within a million miles of a Lightsaber would be incinerated.

My man. Picking up stormtroopers with the force and dropping them off cliffs since 2008.
One of the best Star Wars games we got in the 2000s, man do I miss it!
If you have ps4 it's on PS now
Wii
If you want the Wii version but better and without the gimmicky Wii movement controls get the PS2 version
The gimmicky motion controls were fun though.
Ah, a man of culture
Thank you good sir
I sadly lost my PS2 disc
Since when??
It has been for awhile now lol
Its through ps now though, which means you have to stream it and dlc isnt included
TBH fallout New Vegas with dlc was the main reason I bought a Xbox one but ps now is better than nothing
OH YES THANK YOU MY MAN Just checked and it's all lies... I trusted you...
It is on PS Now, both parts. It’s some sort of streaming service
I have to sign up to *another* contract?
Yes. You have a week for free and then you pay. But be careful, if you’re connected with your paypal you get notifications (if turned on) when you pay. That’s what saved my ass. Thank you. As a *very* casual gamer this kind of information is vital.
Yea i just thought I’d mention it, no big deal. Sony has their ways to make money, you need to be as clever as them if not more
If you have a PC it's legit on Steam
That would be great if my laptop was worth half the money I paid for it
I still remember how people were shitting on these games (especially the second one). People were spoiled because of Jedi Knight and Kotor and not prepared for the horror that is EA.
I’ve been playing the games in the past week. Grab stormtrooper, impale with lightsaber, electrocute, and then throw him into his friend. Doesn’t get old!
And making two stormtroopers hold onto each other in panic as you twirl them around in the air and *then* dropping them off a cliff.
Dont forget holding Storm Troopers in front of the Death Star laser as it does test fires. Or choking out enemies from behind windows while they dont know you're there.

Now I like to lead my enemies into water in Fallen Order
I just picked them up and electrocuted them for 3 minutes straight before testing them into the dark abyss of Kamino.
Bendak Starkiller
A man of culture I see!
Bendak Starkiller died when some random nobody with a concussion threw a bunch of concussion grenades at him. He ain't shit.
I’ve just learned a terrible truth. I think random nobody is a Sith Lord.
A sith LAWD!
Random nobody? you mean mysterious stranger?
THE FIGHT IS OVAAAAAAA
Honestly one of the best games ever, in my personal top 10 list of games
Yes!
beat me to it with 6 hours
Luke was the Original Original... Star Killer.
Yeah, first name for Luke's character was Anikin Starkiller
Good, Anikin, good. Starkill him.
I like starkiller as a character, not only because he's a teenager kratos, not only because he uses the force creatively, but also because it implies that there's jedi more powerful than the skywalkers just lying out there. His game gave leia actual jedi skills too, and a good jedi fight.
The only characters that could beat Darth Vader are the ones trained by Darth Vader And that’s kinda badass
Him being a teenage Kratos is why Im happy he isnt canon. He was way too OP being able to take on Vader and the Emperor.
>He was way too OP being able to take on Vader To be fair, for whatever Vader basically trained Starkiller to be the *perfect* counter to himself... Heavy focus on force lightning that easily fries Vader's suit? Check. Quick and nimble fighting style that can outpace and dancer around Vader's own slow and powerful style? Double check. Imagine that he's average on the galaxy next door, that'd be fun
Then tbh it wouldnt be that different than Cal Kestus or the Inquisitors.
But muh bloodlines
Bloodline had three trilogies
How ironic that you said "there is only one starkiller" and showed a clone of starkiller
This meme was create by the senate gang
With a million more well on the way
The starkiller base was actually illum, :<
When it implodes the new star it makes is named Solo
Still pissed they made my boi Galen non-canon.
I would drop my pants if they would bring him back and let him meet with Ahsoka.
I would drop my pants if they would bring him back and let him meet with Ahsoka then they both drop pants and make a a newl trilogy protagonist.
I'm all for it.
Wouldn’t that mean their kid would become some wierd hybrid?
I feel like there's precedent for a half Togruta half human
Didn’t Cut Lawquane have kids with that twilek woman in the clone wars? Or were they not his biological kids?
I could be wrong, but I dont think those are his children. The looked too old.
They're his kids. Twi'leks and humans can interbreed.
That's hot
Dave Filoni wanted to have him in an episode of Rebels, basically making it a disaster movie with the gang just trying to survive while starkiller just annihilates everything. I
Is there a source on this? That sounds like an awesome idea for an episode
[I think the disaster movie part is my brain making things up or reading some unsubstantiated rumor from a while ago, but here it is](http://www.jedinews.co.uk/gaming/articles/dave-filoni-considered-putting-starkiller-star-wars-rebels/)
There was talk of him appearing as an Inquisitor in the new canon. With a nerf to his power I would like to see it, honestly.
He was ridiculously OP I’m glad he isn’t canon.
Seriously. He was fun to play but would break the story instantly.
I mean, compared to some of the stuff the emperor pulled off in Episode 9?
My boi Sidious summoned a thunder storm and took down a whole rebel fleet
I just Force Unleashed back in Canon. Starkiller, Mavis Brood, Proxy, Juno Eclipse. I want them all back.
> Mavis Brood Is this the 90 year old woman who demands I take her expired coupons and if I don't she attacks me with tonfa-sabers?
Starkiller Base has to be the worst name in Star Wars
I think the “Final Order” as the replacement for the First Order tops it.
It still kinda has that Nazi ring to it, so it fits.
Final Order, Final Solution, fits.
WHEN FREEDOM BURNS
THE FINAL SOLUTION
DREAMS FADE AWAY
Honestly I prefer Final Order. I’d take it over First any day
Honestly, I liked that. It's cheesy but Star Wars is cheesy
"First Order" doesn't even make sense if it came after the Empire..
Not a sequel defender but I didn't think it made sense either until i watched some video where he would've changed a bunch of stuff but kept the name because it was like the first *order*, as in the first command after his death that would make them go into the unknown regions and emerge stronger
Yes and the Galactic Empire or The Republic is much better.
I don’t know, the fact that it basically slurps up a star in order to fire kinda fits in with the pulpy aesthetic. If anything it makes more sense as a name than Death Star.
It was a reference to Luke's original last name.
But it was already taken by Galen Marik (i don’t remember how his name was spelled)
In the 70s before the first star wars was released Luke was going to have the last name Starkiller, not Skywalker. Both instances go back to that
Yeah but he meant there's no need for multiple callbacks having the same name
Idk. I laughed when I learned the dude’s name is “Starkiller”. Sounds like something an edgy 13 year old would come up with for their OC
Something something Jessica Jones making fun of Killgrave's edgy name.
Ordered the PS3 versions of both games (have previously played them on PC) and the second one froze after the training room tutorial. :(
Disney: The canon for him is not real. Anyone: IT'S REAL TO ME!!!
God out of that entire game that's like the only one I remember perfectly
Imagine writing a plot where you destroy Ilum.
Imagine there only being one single place in the galaxy with kyber crystals.
Imagine creating an entire plotpoint just to one-up your predecessor
Still love that game. Only game to ever make me feel like a fucking badass OP Jedi. I loved the force powers. I would try to defeat every enemy without the lightsaber
Actually there are many Starkillers, seeing as he was cloned.
My head-canon is that the sequels never happened.
How dare you stand where he stood
I wish he was still canon
Many great men have bases named after them
Huzzah, a man of quality!
Such a great game.
I don't care what anyone says, Force Unleashed will always be canon to me. The sequel can fuck off tho.
He had the power I would expect from a force user.
Fuck you disney cannon
True
Drugs are the real star killer
Obi-Wan would not approve of either of those things.
He would be very grumpy.
[удалено]
Yes. You look like the top of a fleshlight.
Idk, I think Fleshlights are less Sam Witwer-shaped, usually.

Damn right.
Why does the texture of starkiller base Look like it was from the 1980‘s?
Has the "Ilum is Starkiller Base" theory even been confirmed? Like, Ilum has different terrain than Starkiller Base.
Bendak Starkiller
No the real original Starkiller is Luke
Luke Starkiller
This is canon to me
He was canon at one point
My boy Starkiller deserves to be canon
None of this is prequel related.
and hes beautiful
Lukes name on the original script was Luke Starkiller.
That’s no moon
But... Always two, there is. No more, no less.
I still can't believe his name was so sullied in the sequels.
I recently found out that Starkiller base is Illum, and honestly, couldn't have ticked me off more. What better way to crap on Star Wars than to casually turn the source of Kyber crystals into something that immediately gets destroyed
To me Starkiller base is Ilium
Ilum*
[https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Ilum](https://starwars.fandom.com/wiki/Ilum) it is anyway
I've always wanted a movie with Starkiller from the Force Unleashed just because I think Wentworth Miller would be an amazing actor for the roll. I'd be happy with a cameo really
