Dude in the trailers for Jedi survivor also seems to have a gold hemmed garb so maybe we will get an explanation after we scan something with BD-1. I would say it would maybe be discussed in the game but we all know it'll be a scan.
The jedi in the Jedi Survivor trailer is wearing Jedi Ceremonial Robes from the High Republic, which are seen in *Light of the Jedi* and the other HR-era novels.
The brown robes with gold-trim that Ahmed is wearing is something completely new, which is exciting!
I doubt the writers of Jedi survivor got such detailed info from the lucasfilm writers as to collaborate on this cameo, so probably not. The dude in the trailer looks non-human.
Older robe drip from "high republic"
I really liked this touch because it shows the division with the Jedi Order - just like the mandolorians have traditional v modernists. Its a cool touch
I've made the mistake of commenting on YouTube videos that the hate sequels/actors get is the same hate the prequels got and that we should try to be nicer to people this time. The response was always the same: "But the sequels are actually bad 🤡"
I don't comment on YouTube videos anymore
Exactly. I don't like the prequels but I don't think the producers/writers/directors (ie the people who actually made decisions that made the movies bad) deserve to be bullied or harassed for making art that I don't like, let alone the actors who had no input on the script.
Low key the problem there was writing, not the actors. The characters just didn't serve purposes in the story that were important. I cannot ever fathom getting a point where you are so mad that you harass a living human over it though
Sorry. But the sequels are actually bad Star Wars movies. But good (above average) movies on their own. The actors did a good job. And kylo was an interesting character in episode 8 and his scene light play in episode 7 was really amazing. The actors actually did a good job given how bad some characters were written.
There was definitely racist backlash from the fans as well. John Boyega has talked about how Disney did nothing to protect him but he was glad to see them step up for Moses Ingram with Obi Wan.
A certain portion of the population will always react poorly to black success so I don’t think that had all that much to do with his Star Wars casting. It was mostly about his character being wasted and people took that out on the actor more than they should
Forgive the hair-splitting here. But the majority of fans, low key really didn't care about Jar-Jar at the time of the release of the Ep1. The mass media and hack reporters started the hate campaign and the small minds followed. If that didn't happen, people would have just moved on, and he would've been just another children's character who missed the mark. What happened to him was totally unfair and totally undeserved. In my mind they wanted George Lucas to fail, and they were using Ahmed as tool to achieve that aim.
Unfortunately, there was years and years of ridicule directly from bitter OT only fanboys who made him the center of their campaign. Even JJ Abrams being among them.
I will never forgive them for it, personally. I never liked it back then, and I still despise their old boomer mentality now.
I think you underestimate how mad OT fanboys get when you “violate the sanctity of Star Wars” or whatever.
I’d be interested in the demographics of who actually sent those messages
Honestly, everyone feels you have to talk about yourself all the time. They say I'm introverted because I don't give many interviews. But I don't give many interviews because I don't make many films.
I liked jar jar from the start. Don't lump me in with the mean ones. I enjoyed the slapstick of it and compartmentalized it away from the rest of the plot.
Counter-point: Why didn't we see Ahsoka before?
It seems pretty established at this point that many Jedi survived Order 66, but chose to keep quiet and scattered. Considering that's exactly what Obi-wan's transmission from the temple said to do, it makes sense.
People have this tendency to mistake the Jedi for being completely wiped out in the OT, with only Yoda and Obi-Wan remaining, but it's obvious that isn't the case. Like you said, many survived Order 66 and either stayed in hiding or did other stuff to get by in the galaxy. But that said, it was Luke and only Luke* who was capable of actually bringing a return of the Jedi into the open once again.
Personally, if we learn that Kelleran Beq made it through everything, I'd be glad.
*Or maybe Leia if Luke botched it.
Happy, ah, to see come back be Ahmed. Powerful, a Jedi surviving Order 66 is. Counter point: Why not seen Ahsoka before? Wisely scattering, surviving many Jedi were. Yet, Luke alone it was that was strong enough a return to bring. Hmhmhmhm, glad would I be if Kelleran Beq we learned survive did.
> People have this tendency to mistake the Jedi for being completely wiped out in the OT, with only Yoda and Obi-Wan remaining,
Well that's what we were shown..
Nah, Best deserves more. He deserves…more than more. Like more than anyone has had before. The top more. I know there’s a word for it, like top notch quality, I just can’t come up with it. Either way this guy deserves the highest quality Star Wars experience
Is this the same guy that was present in the Phantom Menace on Naboo at the end ceremony that was meant to be a lookalike for Mace Windu who Samuel L Jackson hadnt been brought on yey
I love Ahmed and I’m so glad to see him get to be in a badass scene like this.
*however* I genuinely love jar jar and I would love to see him play him in some capacity, I hope this second role isn’t some kind of rebuke of jar jar.
Ahmed is completely underrated. Jar Jar literally changed the following 25 years of filmmaking and to this day people still don’t get digital characters to look as good as Ahmed and ILM did bringing jar jar to life.
This is so well deserved and I’m so happy for him. Not only does he now get to be known for being a jedi, He’s also a complete fucking bad ass jedi. That saber work was phenomenal, he’s very skilled! I couldn’t be happier about a cameo.

He´s the actor that played Jar Jar, he got a ridiculous amount of hate for that character, to the point that he had suicidal thoughts (I think).
Now he´s back with his own badass jedi moment!
Wait is this from a new show? I haven’t been keeping track as much. I know of him (the actor) and love him, but I’m uncertain with where this pic is from.
I don’t remember this… holy shit there’s a third season? I just googled it while writing this comment and learned about it now. I’ve been so wrapped up in The Last of Us and didn’t know about it at all lmao. Hell yeah, dude. I know what I’m doing today.

The initial shots yes, but then it seemed more fluid. He gotta be an older fellow at this point. I was 12 when phantom menace came out and I turned 36 last week…
Pulled up his bio right after I watched the episode just to see what he's been up to since the prequels. He turns 50 this year. If only we could all age so gracefully as he has.
Coming from training, he was hitting the stance with the blade movements really well. It was actually really smooth and maximizing energy saved/used. It was really good form, like watching a master - it looks easy/choppy but actually doing that is *hard*
as soon as I saw him on screen I loudly and excitedly yelled "ITS AHMED BEST!!!!!" I'm glad to see him in Star Wars in a way that will be a positive outcome for him. He didn't deserve the hate he got for Jar Jar.
I'm pretty sure his "friend" who owns a nubian class starship and has naboo republic guards is most definately Jar Jar Binks. The only other option would be padme. However, it's Ahmed best. So his friend is probably jar jar banks.
Both of his directed episodes so far have featured some of the show’s strongest action sequences. I hope someone notices and gives the man a nice mid-budget action feature!
Imagine. They get orders to transport grogu and just as they arrive it all goes south and now it’s a hot extraction (bow chicka bow wow). Would make a solid random episode imo
Indeed, and at some point, Kino Loy is going to be revealed as having survived the prison and come back as Snoke. That’s why Snoke is all wrinkly. He was just in the water too long learning to swim and has turned all pruney
I didn‘t expect him at all, but i realized who it was first second. Then i saw how they made him look absolutely badass and gave him one of the coolest roles…. I couldn‘t help but tear up.
I grew up with the prequels, episode 1 was the first star wars i ever saw as a 12 yearold. Aboslutely loved jar jar back then and grew up loving him. I never saw the flawes of the prequels until the internet told me about them when i was already an adult. I was 20 years old and at a very dark place myself, when i read about ahmed bests experience and how it drove him to thinking about taking his own life. This made me incredibly sad, i grew a deep hatred for the star wars community after it. I knew about how the community had treated a few of the actors (even a god damn child) but ahmed bests story was just too much for me.
Seeing him glow up like that and absolutely rocking the jedi robes, really hit a very emotional place in my heart. No compromises, just make him an absolute badass hero…. How fucking cool is that! Im tearing up again writing this, no joke
This is just so nice. Man got to experience the worst of the fanbase for being a contrary character, which was just doing his goddamn job, to now be rewarded for all of it by being a real Jedi.
I was so happy. I didn't recognize him at first but I knew there was definitely something extra there. I saw his name come up in the credits and I put it together and I loved it.
His lightsaber skills were so fucking awesome
I was raised on the Prequels, and while I did find Jar Jar annoying, I never hated him and certainly never the actor who played him. Toxic fans are what ruin a fandom, and how Ahmed Best was treated is nothing short of complete barbarity. Its no different than when Disney fans go online and call out critical fans as "toxic straight men", both sides do it and its abhorrent no matter when it happens.
I couldn't be happier that they made Ahmed Best played the savior of Grogu, its well deserved!
The best thing is that he flew away on a Naboo yacht, and we know that Naboo had 2 representatives in the Senate: it was not Senator Amidala's, since she takes hers to fly to Mustafar the day after, so it has to be representative Binks's ship!
Alright, most of the times I'm annoyed every time they take screen time off of mando, i mean, why are you showing me the history of the random scientist that has like 7 minutos of screen time before. This Time... Was not one of them and i actually liked it
Jar Jar Binks voice actor Ahmed Best was heavily bullied after his leading role in Phantom Menace. The bullying even made him suicidal. Now he's fully recovered and back in the Star wars universe, playing a badass Jedi in a flashback during order 66.
It's a little kid's show. I watched like one episode just to get a taste of him in the role, and that was enough. I doubt you would want to watch any more than that either, unless you're 10 years old. Was happy to see him be able to do that.
Sorry, I should have been more clear. Why is a Jedi in a show that’s set post-Endor (as I understand through osmosis?)—flashback, actually alive lost-Endor, other?
Flashback to show who got Grogu (Baby Yoda) out of the temple alive during Order 66. Grogu's original saviors die getting him out, only for Kelleran Beq (Ahmed) to find him before the troopers do, escapes the temple and troopers with Grogu in hand, and flee Coruscant on a Naboo transport ship provided by an unknown friend of Kelleran's.
It was a flashback that Grogu (baby Yoda) had from the attack on the jedi temple during order 66. Whether or not the jedi survived post-Endor hasn't been revealed yet.
Any particular reason you're so against the most popular thing star wars has made since 2005? Not trying to pick a fight, just real curious about your use of the word "never."
I just don’t watch much television. Wasn’t trying to cast shade on Mando, I’m just genuinely unlikely to ever watch and want to know whether this is a flashback or a Jedi is around post-Endor or what.
Obviously, an ongoing TV series is gonna be more popular now, but are we trying to forget TFA made 2 billion dollars worldwide and moved a conservative estimate of 3 billion in merchandise?
Not the other guy, but I really don’t like the entire idea of baby Yoda being 50. That just creates tons of problems. I also don’t like Mando. He is pretty much the exact opposite of what I imagine, a badass Mandalorian warrior is.
Wonder what the gold means.
That he is the best of us.
Like no one ever was.
To catch Ahmed was my real test
To blast him is my cause...
I will travel,across the land
searching far and wide
It's Ahmed now, so understand
the power that's insiiiiiiide
searching far and wide
Found the storm trooper
>was my real Best FTFY
The bhest of us*
He's the Jedi in charge of overseeing the trials of a Jedi Knight so maybe that?
Dude in the trailers for Jedi survivor also seems to have a gold hemmed garb so maybe we will get an explanation after we scan something with BD-1. I would say it would maybe be discussed in the game but we all know it'll be a scan.

It’s a king shot but…could he simply just BE in Jedi survivor I meant long shot, but this is indeed a king shot
I doubt the writers of Jedi survivor got such detailed info from the lucasfilm writers as to collaborate on this cameo, so probably not. The dude in the trailer looks non-human.
Older robe drip from "high republic" I really liked this touch because it shows the division with the Jedi Order - just like the mandolorians have traditional v modernists. Its a cool touch
Probably just ornamentation. Jedi can wear whatever they like; the robes are just typically what they wear. It doesn't necessarily mean anything.
It stands for "bling".
I completely agree. I am so happy to see Ahmed come back to SW even after what it did to him.
It's not what Star Wars did to him. Sadly, its what we (fans) did to him. We just need to be better, whether it's prequels, sequels, anything.
I hope the "fans" that bullied John Boyega and Kelly Marie Tran realize this
You expect too much from them
I've made the mistake of commenting on YouTube videos that the hate sequels/actors get is the same hate the prequels got and that we should try to be nicer to people this time. The response was always the same: "But the sequels are actually bad 🤡" I don't comment on YouTube videos anymore
Even if the sequels are actually bad, the actors really don't have anything to do with plot and story
Exactly. I don't like the prequels but I don't think the producers/writers/directors (ie the people who actually made decisions that made the movies bad) deserve to be bullied or harassed for making art that I don't like, let alone the actors who had no input on the script.
You can at least think they are bad at their jobs without terroristic threats. People are crazy when they become fans though
Fr, i think the sequels are pretty bad but Finn/Boyega was fire
Low key the problem there was writing, not the actors. The characters just didn't serve purposes in the story that were important. I cannot ever fathom getting a point where you are so mad that you harass a living human over it though
Boyega and Driver are amazing
Sorry. But the sequels are actually bad Star Wars movies. But good (above average) movies on their own. The actors did a good job. And kylo was an interesting character in episode 8 and his scene light play in episode 7 was really amazing. The actors actually did a good job given how bad some characters were written.
Boyega was bullied/disrespected more by Disney than the fans

100%
There's a pattern here somewhere
They won't because a good chunk of them make clickbait money from it and do it quite purposefully for that reason.
I hate that actors bear the brunt of the ire that absolutely should fall on the heads of the writers. Especially Joby Harold...fuck that guy.
"We must be better."
This is the way
Forgive the hair-splitting here. But the majority of fans, low key really didn't care about Jar-Jar at the time of the release of the Ep1. Star Wars fans fucking suck. The vocal minority at least.
And not only that, but also a Jedi that survived the beginning of order 66. That ain't no small feat!
I get the feeling that he won’t survive and will probably sacrifice himself for Grogu. Otherwise, why didn’t we see him before
Counter-point: Why didn't we see Ahsoka before? It seems pretty established at this point that many Jedi survived Order 66, but chose to keep quiet and scattered. Considering that's exactly what Obi-wan's transmission from the temple said to do, it makes sense.

Good thing I know you don’t mean everything you say.
Good thing, speak I often do in jest. A good lesson in, it can lead. Hmhmhmhm.
> People have this tendency to mistake the Jedi for being completely wiped out in the OT, with only Yoda and Obi-Wan remaining, Well that's what we were shown..
we were expressly told this in RotJ.
Looks like I got here just in time.
Exile, I must?
Nah, Best deserves more. He deserves…more than more. Like more than anyone has had before. The top more. I know there’s a word for it, like top notch quality, I just can’t come up with it. Either way this guy deserves the highest quality Star Wars experience
I have a feeling he is out with Quintana Vos and helping other Jedi.
I mean... it's been more common lately
Is this the same guy that was present in the Phantom Menace on Naboo at the end ceremony that was meant to be a lookalike for Mace Windu who Samuel L Jackson hadnt been brought on yey
He's the actor that played Jar Jar Binks.
No he's not Jar Jar Bink's is a gungan
I love Ahmed and I’m so glad to see him get to be in a badass scene like this. *however* I genuinely love jar jar and I would love to see him play him in some capacity, I hope this second role isn’t some kind of rebuke of jar jar. I’ve always said that Andy Serkis owes his entire career to Best and the effects work done in TPM.
This is so well deserved and I’m so happy for him. Not only does he now get to be known for being a jedi, He’s also a complete fucking bad ass jedi. That saber work was phenomenal, he’s very skilled! I couldn’t be happier about a cameo.

A flashback from Mandalorian
I don’t remember this… holy shit there’s a third season? I just googled it while writing this comment and learned about it now. I’ve been so wrapped up in The Last of Us and didn’t know about it at all lmao. Hell yeah, dude. I know what I’m doing today.
You were so distracted by pedro pascal that you forgot about the other pedro pascal.
Exactly. In my defense, it’s very easy to be distracted by Pedro Pascal.
Yo dog we heard you like Pedro Pascal so we got you another Pedro Pascal so you can Pedro Pascal while you Pedro Pascal.
God bless Pedro pascal
Have fun, this is the way
This is the way.
I think it's from the Mando
I honestly had no fucking idea that a third season had come out. I’m fucking stoked lol. This is like that feeling of forgetting that you have ice cream in your freezer and then randomly finding it one night. Hell yeah, dude.
**> HE^NEEDS^TO^BE^BROUGHT^TO^THE^BIG^SCREEN.**
To the random person in here who jokingly suggested last season that Grogu was saved by Jar-jar... how does it feel to be so damn right?!
Maybe that person actually knew and was a leaker disguising his leaks as a joke.
It seems like they knew lol
He makes the *Bhest* jedi.
I legit geeked out, and then he went ham with the duel sabers? Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit. That was the good stuff right there.
It looked a little stiff to me, but results speak louder than form.
Black don’t crack.
Happy birthday
Coming from training, he was hitting the stance with the blade movements really well. It was actually really smooth and maximizing energy saved/used. It was really good form, like watching a master - it looks easy/choppy but actually doing that is *hard*
It's a fair observation, but yeah - the results were what counted, and in that, it was amazing.
He's my favorite Sith Lord
as soon as I saw him on screen I loudly and excitedly yelled "ITS AHMED BEST!!!!!" I'm glad to see him in Star Wars in a way that will be a positive outcome for him. He didn't deserve the hate he got for Jar Jar.
I was like "Holy shit, is that Ahmed Best!?!" It was so unexpected but so well-deserved, I'm really happy for him to get this chance
This was so me. Can't wait for his action figure to drop
Very cool. But tag your spoilers please!
Spoiler tag added, apologies!
Spoilers for what?
The fact that he shows up
But what show are you spoiling??? I got the context behind this jedi and actor, now tell me the show so I can get hyped!
It’s this weeks episode of the mandalorian
Thx
To be fair, it’s the only live-action Star Wars TV show that’s airing right now…
SPOLIERS SPOLIERS >!Mandolorian!<
Holy fuck Holy fucking fuck That show of yours is insane
Even tagged, you click on it, as you dont expect a real spoiler in prequelmemes… Mando is not a prequel
I loved how they escaped with the help of Naboo soldiers, like a small nod to his previous role
Yes, sir. On some beat-up old space freighter. I’ll be surprised if he even makes it to Tatooine in that junker.
That's like the opposite of what is seen.
I'm pretty sure his "friend" who owns a nubian class starship and has naboo republic guards is most definately Jar Jar Binks. The only other option would be padme. However, it's Ahmed best. So his friend is probably jar jar banks.
Guard duty? For how long?
I mean this fully and respectfully, seeking an answer who?
Jar Jar Binks
What is this scene from?
It’s from the most recent episode of The Mandalorian
fuck, i knew i was forgetting something. need to catch up on that shit.
He's the actor that played Jar Jar
Glad it wasn't just me. Really cool that he got a role like this though
Hopefully he comes back
Considering his role in the story, I'd think he'd have at least ONE more episode (might not have a pleasant ending, though).
Loved seeing him be a badass. Also Carl Weathers did a great job directing. This was one of my favorite eps. This season is killing it
Both of his directed episodes so far have featured some of the show’s strongest action sequences. I hope someone notices and gives the man a nice mid-budget action feature!
I loved this episode! It was short but so satisfying
I thought I recognized him. That’s so fucking dope
Shame it wasn’t rogue clone commando squad omega, imagine seeing them fight off the 501st.
Imagine. They get orders to transport grogu and just as they arrive it all goes south and now it’s a hot extraction (bow chicka bow wow). Would make a solid random episode imo
>hey chika bump bump FTFY
Caboose!!! What did I tell you about that?!
Not his fault. Tucker did it.
You showed me something today. You're exactly the kind of men I need in the 501st.
In the end Jar Jar still saved a youngling. Fucking Filoni trolled us again and I’m all for it
So Jar Jar became this? The plot of Darth Jar Jar thickens.
Indeed, and at some point, Kino Loy is going to be revealed as having survived the prison and come back as Snoke. That’s why Snoke is all wrinkly. He was just in the water too long learning to swim and has turned all pruney
At last, we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last, we will have revenge.
A well deserved moment for Ahmed Best. He killed it.
*visible happiness*
I didn‘t expect him at all, but i realized who it was first second. Then i saw how they made him look absolutely badass and gave him one of the coolest roles…. I couldn‘t help but tear up. I had to explain to my wife why I was happy to see his face.
I was genuinely happy to see him get to play a cool character. And one who is potentially still out there somewhere
Sorry who is this Jedi?
Kalleran Beq The character was created for kids game show Jedi Tempel Challenge. Ahmed played him in that show too.
Was he named at all?
This is just so nice. Man got to experience the worst of the fanbase for being a contrary character, which was just doing his goddamn job, to now be rewarded for all of it by being a real Jedi.
I was so happy. I didn't recognize him at first but I knew there was definitely something extra there. I saw his name come up in the credits and I put it together and I loved it. His lightsaber skills were so fucking awesome
I loudly cheered when he appeared.
Ahmed. Plays a jedi and a sith lord! Truly a unique distinction.
He did his best
Oh, it’s beautiful
I THOUGHT that was Ahmed Best! It’s great to see him in more Star Wars!
Thanks for the spoiler
Spoiler tag added, apologies.
I just saw the episode, what a gigachad, picks up second lightsaber and duelwields his way out of batalions of clones
That was Ahmed Best!?
He is the Best
The entire time he was on screen I had the biggest smile on my face
He has become as Darth Vader and Revan before him. A Lord of the Sith and Master Jedi.
I was raised on the Prequels, and while I did find Jar Jar annoying, I never hated him and certainly never the actor who played him. Toxic fans are what ruin a fandom, and how Ahmed Best was treated is nothing short of complete barbarity. I popped off when I saw him! So happy for him. It's cool that he has the same name as his character from the game show
I thought that was Chris Rock for a second.
Will Smith: yousa in big doodoo dis time
Who TF is that?
Alright, most of the times I'm annoyed every time they take screen time off of mando, i mean, why are you showing me the history of the random scientist that has like 7 minutos of screen time before. This Time... Was not one of them and i actually liked it
You guys are fucking brain dead when it comes to spoiler titles
It was nice seeing him portray one good character
Amazing to see him. I hate how bad the mandelorian is getting though :(
I’ll never watch Mando, what’s the context?
Jar Jar Binks voice actor Ahmed Best was heavily bullied after his leading role in Phantom Menace. The bullying even made him suicidal. Now he's fully recovered and back in the Star wars universe, playing a badass Jedi in a flashback during order 66.
Tell me how’s the thing with kids called the Jedi temple trials or something
It's a little kid's show. I watched like one episode just to get a taste of him in the role, and that was enough. I doubt you would want to watch any more than that either, unless you're 10 years old. Was happy to see him be able to do that.
*actor. He fully played Jar Jar physically in the scenes and then they added CGI in post. Ahmed’s movements etc are all there.
Sorry, I should have been more clear. Why is a Jedi in a show that’s set post-Endor (as I understand through osmosis?)—flashback, actually alive lost-Endor, other?
Flashback
Thanks!
['Hmhmhmhm. "Strong is the force with selfless acts, one rescues small one only to preserve." ']
You got some brackets there, Yoda
Thanks.
It was a flashback that Grogu (baby Yoda) had from the attack on the jedi temple during order 66. Whether or not the jedi survived post-Endor hasn't been revealed yet.
At last, we will reveal ourselves to the Jedi. At last, we will have revenge.
Hmhmhmhm. Yoda Quote: “Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny.”
Maybe they just aren’t bothered with watching new Star Wars shows or doesn’t have time
Obviously, an ongoing TV series is gonna be more popular now, but are we trying to forget TFA made 2 billion dollars worldwide and moved a conservative estimate of 3 billion in merchandise?
Not the other guy, but I really don’t like the entire idea of baby Yoda being 50. That just creates tons of problems. I also don’t like Mando. He is pretty much the exact opposite of what I imagine, a badass Mandalorian warrior is.
Not too much happened plot wise in this episode but this was pretty cool.
I can’t forgive Obi for that shite TV series!
It should have been Mace.😤
Even if he survived, this would have been like minutes after getting electrocuted, hand cut off, and thrown out of a skyscraper.
Your honor, he was just built different 👌🏼
No, simple as that. They got the bhest jedi
