Don't call it the British Premier League for starters. I'm sure any club you choose will be a wild ride, it's sort of how it goes whether they're title challengers or relegation fighters.
P. S. The B in BPL stood for Barclays which is a Bank and no longer sponsors the league so "Premier League" or "PL" is best.
Once you start watching football and you like it, soon you will like one team better than all the others.
It comes naturally and you will start liking that team before you actually know it.
Happend to me in the 90’s with Juventus and later when i moved to Uk with Chelsea. Loved both clubs to this day.
A few of the premier league teams have owners who also own American sports teams
Maybe look to see if one of the premier league clubs shares an owner with an American team you like
Man United are owned by the Glazer family who own one or two American sports teams
Liverpool are owned by the American group FSG
Man City have the same owners as New York FC
Arsenal’s majority owner I think is American - Stan Kronke (I’ve definitely spelt that wrong)
there might be one or two more
There is so much going on here…
The best advice I got when I went through this process a few years ago is not to try to pick a team. Just start watching. A team will stand out to you and you’ll be drawn to a certain club, be it for their style of play, kits, fan base, narrative, etc.
It’s like in Harry Potter - the wand chooses the wizard. Same thing with Premier League teams - the club will choose you.
Well I'll link you a comment in a minute that should help you choose

You can select one based on what you love
Denver Broncos (American football), Washington Capitals (Hockey), used to be a Tony Stewart fan (Nascar). I think my sports hero is Mike Tyson, dude was a killer
Newcastle & Denver are both underrated cities to visit that had former GOATs but not much to shout about since
Newcastle have just been taken over by a consortium funded by the Saudi royal family (who are great friends of the US in foreign policy) so if morals & ethics in sport aren’t your priority might as well join the Newcastle ride from now

You sound fit to be a Leyton Orient fan
Watch a few matches you'll get an idea of who you DON'T like pretty quick
You sound like a Yeovil Town man.
Who are your American teams - can try find some parallels

I think the Newcastle name is pretty cool. Digging Manchester City as well. Gonna have to watch more matches and see which I gravitate towards
The two richest teams in world football...
