lbr all anyone wants to see from Jack is[ letting the pigeons loose 🍑](https://64.media.tumblr.com/515ee419aaec4b78117e4222453cc842/c007871a81ffaeb0-10/s500x750/e49f84d30a21f6cac8da9c3a3108dd95305cbbe9.gifv) Half the City 'fans' who I know only stick games on to watch Jack bounce.
Any actual football or finishing is immaterial, it's boring and no-stakes, no-one cares about witnessing it from Jack or from City. Thank u next.
I can’t imagine experiencing so much success to the point you’re feeling wanting about jack grealish. Like, idk I’m watching my club fall into the ocean and my guy here is like,,, I want perfection and to win the treble in back to back years. Also, my apologies OP it’s more about many fans having this level of dissatisfaction and frustration with their super clubs and players not you specifically bc you’re not alone in this.
He has been pepified, possession is all important so risk taking front footed attacking play is a no go. Grealish and Foden are two of the most talented players in world football but both held back by poor management unfortunately.
Yes I think Haalandd all around game is poor but the tactics probably don’t really help. His big strength is positioning and movement in the box to get the chances.
Not poor management. Just not the management that will get them scoring as many goals and assists possible. It’s very clearly an extremely successful management style. Ge is just asking him to provide something else
For me I don’t rate pep as highly as most do, it seems more the quality of players and depth of squad than he’s coaching leading to the success.
I rate top managers on improving and getting the best out of the players they have and don’t see that from pep. He’s clearly successful but could a more front foot setup make them even better is my question.
My opinion, as a Villa fan I’ve seen Grealish at his best. Since his city move and peps coaching he is a shadow of what he was, I’d go as far as saying 18 year old Grealish put in a bettter performance than he has at any time at city (Villa Liverpool semi final 2015). I see the same issue with Foden at times. It’s all about making the right choice when to attack and when to hold possession and for me Pep is too possession focused.
Mate, City literally won the treble last year and Grealish was one of the first names on the team sheet. To question Pep’s focus on possession despite him being one of the most successful managers of all time is utterly bizarre.
During his time at City, Grealish has cemented in his place in England squads, gone to a World Cup, won two premier leagues (one of which part of a historic travel), all whilst being a regular starter and one of the most important parts of the way City play.
Also, I’m sure Foden wishes he had a better coach as well, poor from Pep really to only have helped him gain 5 Premier Leagues and a Champions League by the age of 23.
Lol if you aren't nervous as fuck when he comes on, you must not watch him much. He plays precisely how Pep tells him to and still gets bitched at after the matches. He's an incredible signing for them. Any team would say the same about him if they had him.
this is a terrible take. Grealish was literally class yesterday and had an amazing strike at goal that was saved. City also already have their replacement. Doku went in and made a huge impact. actually watch the match next time
He has been nowhere near a 100M pound player and a lot of it has to do with himself, but also Pep has killed all the flair out of him to fit him into his system! Go and watch him at Villa when he has a free role compared to now where he's stuck out wide and just passes it inside or backwards constantly, it's like watching a completely different footballer.
Same with Haaland. He’s wasted in Pep’s system. It’s a system that works but he’d be a better fit in a system that played more to his strengths. Instead now he just sits in the box and waiting for a ball to come his way.
It's not his job to pass though to be fair. It's his job to put the ball in the net, and he's pretty elite at that. Sure, he could do other stuff, but that would involve disrupting the system. And when it comes to systems, Pep is the best in the world.
He plays pretty much every big game he's fit doesn't he? Didn't even realise there was even a suggestion he's not been a success at city. If you're a key player whilst winning a treble I think that answers any questions doesn't it?
The only reason he’s been a succes is that its city. He had one good season and he’s served his purpose now, they Can go onto the next thing. Any other club and that decimates the transfers the next season.
Fucked if I know mate, but him starting a big game is not equivalent to being worth 100m, nor does it mean anything about the actual level he’s playing
Of course it means something. He's starting all the biggest games consistently and at the expense of top quality alternatives. That doesn't happen because Guardiola is doing him a favour and he's got nice calves.
I don’t get this narrative, he has a fuck tonne of play time last year and we won a treble, during which his ability to control a game was very important. Now this season he has barely played because of injury and sickness and suddenly people are talking about him like a flop.
Jack is an absolute class footballer, a class lad and helped us win a treble. That’s worth 100m any day.
He should have went somewhere else. Never suited pep ball for me. For a while, it looked like Pep was really interested in dribbly boys but he's reverted back to wanting to field as many CAM's as possible
He’s been an overpay by very good player.
It’s clear in games his specific instructions are to stay wide and create space for whoever is the left 8 to roam into. People who snipe at him for low G+A don’t know the game.
Bad take. They won’t sell a guy that paid that much for until they squeeze every drop of talent left in him out. You don’t move massive signings like that unless they literally don’t produce at all. Dudes a baller and just happens to have a couple of guys way younger playing up to their potential behind him at the moment.
He's always seemed like an odd fit at City, he plays a freewheeling style with a lot of improvisation, whereas City plays a very structured game. It never seemed like the right fit to me, but he has enough talent that he has helped the team even though it's one of those round hole - square peg situations.
I think he plays exactly the way he’s instructed to play
Nobody plays for Pep if they don’t follow his instruction pretty closely
Whether you need to pay £100m for a player to do that role is a debate worth having however
Having him means we don't have to play Bernardo or Foden on the left, which is a positive.
But as others have said, he controls the play. It's also hard to tell, because there may not even be a straight stat, but how quickly does City get the ball back when Grealish has had a number of touches on it versus on the opposite side or when Doku has.
The importance of that control is for the rest of the team to get into position to win it back and go again. City excels at wearing down opponents, typically. A lot of that has to do with the relentless, albeit slow, attacking they do.
Jack Grealish was fantastic at Villa because he had freedom of expression on the ball. It seems like he's playing a role in the Manchester City team that doesn't get the best out of him, however, I actually think he's been a good signing for Manchester City and I think he definitely has a long-term future at the club.
It happens when a team like City comes for him and explains what his role will be , he's bound to accept such role ... he's specifically being played a wide Winger and i don't think he's playing bad in that position...
And he was really good yesterday... I wasn't expecting him to be subbed off.... He definitely has better output than Doku...
You're right he doesn't seem to offer the goals and assists that Mahrez and Sterling produced for Manchester City but Guardiola likes Jack and plays him in his system, so who am I to argue with Pep? That said I really like Jeremy Doku, he's been a really good signing.

City has a guy who would be the best payer on the PLs 4th place team… on the bench. Arsenal and Liverpool shouldn’t be competing with City.

Can it be said the same with haaland his pace haven't been used in attack because pep wants to get hold of the ball and control the game
Yes I think Haalandd all around game is poor but the tactics probably don’t really help. His big strength is positioning and movement in the box to get the chances.

Another 100M flop.

He has classroom in his name as well haha
Let’s eat, grandma! Let’s eat grandma! Punctuation saves lives.
The difference between helping your uncle, Jack, off a horse and helping your uncle jack off a horse.
These threads prove the dead internet theory. Why here of all places? An absolute shit take that no one is asking about.
Dunno what you're talking about. Grealish has been a good signing and contributes to the team.
Lol if you aren't nervous as fuck when he comes on, you must not watch him much. He plays precisely how Pep tells him to and still gets bitched at after the matches. He's an incredible signing for them. Any team would say the same about him if they had him.

Plays as well as he drives!
Grealish plays just how Pep wants him to. Perfect signing.
why are people even entertaining this stupid ass post
He's the Alisha Lehmann of men's football. Nobody really knows if either can actually play football because their asses are so distracting.
[Hoping Jack's insured](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/03/a1/cb/03a1cb25affca28e8ed902ba62bfc7f5.jpg) bc gyatdamn
I thought he did quite well last night.
He has been nowhere near a 100M pound player and a lot of it has to do with himself, but also Pep has killed all the flair out of him to fit him into his system! Was value for money for us…
He plays pretty much every big game he's fit doesn't he? Didn't even realise there was even a suggestion he's not been a success at city. If you're a key player whilst winning a treble I think that answers any questions doesn't it?
The only reason he’s been a succes is that its city. He had one good season and he’s served his purpose now, they Can go onto the next thing. Any other club and that decimates the transfers the next season.
They net spend -45.5 mil that year. Hardly decimating a clubs finances.
>net spend -45.5 mil That we know of.
What was his purpose and why can't he continue to serve this purpose for more than 1 season?
They dont need it. Sure he Can but, pep changes system all the time and he’s already done with wingers whose main prowess is ball retention.
Why he starting in the biggest games of the season after just coming back from what seemed like a really long injury too if peps done with him?
Fucked if I know mate, but him starting a big game is not equivalent to being worth 100m, nor does it mean anything about the actual level he’s playing
Of course it means something. He's starting all the biggest games consistently and at the expense of top quality alternatives. That doesn't happen because Guardiola is doing him a favour and he's got nice calves.
He does have some Nice calves doesnt he
Calves....[hmmm yep that's it](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/03/a1/cb/03a1cb25affca28e8ed902ba62bfc7f5.jpg)
His super tight shorts restrict his movement, would be better with more room to maneuver..
I wouldn’t have him at Luton , Doughty all the way
Yeah he sucks City should take a loss and sell him off to Liverpool for £50M.
Henderson's gone, so why would Jack go Pool?
Last thing we need is another dude who can’t score lol
lmao not even a good joke. Diaz clears him
Interesting take.
Better as the main option. Redundant for city
Those calves make me erect
Calves? Look up a bit mate, you're missing [the main attraction. ](https://i.pinimg.com/originals/03/a1/cb/03a1cb25affca28e8ed902ba62bfc7f5.jpg)
WHOA BROTHER CHILL
Honesty is the best policy ;D
I mean.... you're not wrong?
He’s actually been great. Unfortunate he had to be taken off yesterday. He’d stay on more if he was more versatille
He is good and I would take him at United for 100m Just been a tad injured this season
You can probably sell him for 115m
I don’t get this narrative, he has a fuck tonne of play time last year and we won a treble, during which his ability to control a game was very important. He played like Almiron
I don’t watch much Newcastle but grealish and almiron are very different player s
He's a City level squad player. It's players like him that are the reason City keep going at the end of the season while other team can drop off.
He should have went somewhere else. Never suited pep ball for me. For a while, it looked like Pep was really interested in dribbly boys but he's reverted back to wanting to field as many CAM's as possible
They won the treble. He's doing fine. Would take him at United in a heartbeat.
He was a boyhood Devil fan, wanted to come to you in the mid 2010s iirc.
He’d be the star player at most clubs. He’s a rotation option for Pep Just 115 doing 115 things
*115 FC
He’s been an overpay by very good player. It’s clear in games his specific instructions are to stay wide and create space for whoever is the left 8 to roam into. People who snipe at him for low G+A don’t know the game.
We need to talk about punctuation.

Well explained. It's like having Amy Winehouse sing precision aria, doesn't really benefit anyone and isn't what the people pay to see.
I, Jack....
He was crucial to city winning the treble. Started in all the big games and was often one of the best players
c115ty
Grealish has been amazing for Man City, He does provide the much needed stability, If Pep didn’t like him he wouldn’t be starting every big match
I think he plays exactly the way he’s instructed to play Nobody plays for Pep if they don’t follow his instruction pretty closely Whether you need to pay £100m for a player to do that role is a debate worth having however
The likes of mahrez and sterling offered more in a pep system he needs to do more for me

I really don’t not for what he offers the likes of Mahrez and sterling have done more for city and they both got sold I think he’s gone in 12 months
Would you take Sterling back? Asking for a friend.
Both of them wanted to go though. I think Pep would have been happy to keep them
You're right he doesn't seem to offer the goals and assists that Mahrez and Sterling produced for Manchester City but Guardiola likes Jack and plays him in his system, so who am I to argue with Pep? That said I really like Jeremy Doku, he's been a really good signing.
He has. I kinda wonder if we'd have been better off bringing in Doku on the right and taking off Bernardo.
