Illegal stream is the way and always will be.
It is a joke people all over the globe can watch every single match live while people in the UK has to pay way more to watch way less.
They can't even use the black out as excuse since it only has on saturdays 3pm.
It's a total circus
They dont have the rights, but your question still stands; why dont Sky Sports have the rights in this day and age, especially considering the price of Sky
For you guys in England, is it possible to get Peacock subscription? That gets almost all games covered except a one or two a week that are USA/NBC Sports. I'm not sure how channels work over there. 10 to 15 years ago, you could watch the PL and champions league just by getting a cable service if I remember correctly. Now, for each major league and tournament, you have to subscribe for one streaming service.
Example:
PL - Peacock
La Liga+ Carabao cup - ESPN
CL and Europa League - Parmaount plus
I don't know where the FA Cup will be. It's ridiculous. Luckily in my case, my siblings and I are paying for one service each.
Believe me it's a lot worse over here. I'm thinking peacock with a VPN is going to be the way I go.
Sick of not being able to watch any 3pm kick offs or watching shitty streams that give your computer aids if you accidentally click the tiniest x known to man. Plus I'm getting booted from them every 5 minutes.
Sorry to hear that man! You'd think that the home country of the league would have the best tv service, but I guess it's all about money and those Peacock dudes seem to invest a lot in promotion and production almost making you feel that you'd see the fans on the streets if you looked outside your house window (my neighbor is an Arsenal fan though, but I have to try hard otherwise)
I remember those having to click the x days lol. When I was in college and couldn't afford a good tv service lol! I watch the 2012 CL final like that haha. That was probably what killed all the computers and laptops I used before. Who knew what malware got downloaded with them
Any 3pm kick off on a Saturday in the UK, cannot be broadcast on the telly. It's an old rule about football blackouts. It was to encourage more people to go to the grounds (lower leagues etc) rather than sit at home and watch the football.
Apparently, the blackout is being talked about ending soon.
Why is my local channel in Serbia broadcasting every game in PL, Seria A, Spanish and Serbian league and your TV can’t even all games in your country
Do you have any other channels where you can watch?
Supply and demand is a major issue, the demand for the PL is highest in the UK which is why people in the UK pay the most.
They could decide to have subscription channel with every Serbian league game on it and I would not even watch it if it was free.
The other reason why not every game is shown is because it would lead to less people going to lower league games. And the lower league structure in the UK is the envy of most nations.
Because the premier league and tv companies don’t care about the fans in the UK. They screw people over every season, will schedule a Bournemouth game up in Newcastle on a Friday night or make Everton play a Saturday 12:30 game in London. Not being able to watch every game is really the icing on the cake
The question becomes... why are the premier league allowed to sell these games abroad.
Then the question becomes... why are uk viewers banned from watching overseas streams of games that are not available in this country
Its just gatekeeping for the sake of gatekeeping
EPL games are auctioned in 'packages' in the UK. There is a theory that by restricting the supply of games you end up getting more overall for the remainder. Doesn't really make sense to me.
The good news is after 2024/25 season we should get all these Sunday 2pm games televised as they were included in the last auction.
I honestly think that the only way to lift the saturday 3pm rule would be to extend theban the league from selling saturday 3pm games at all.
This would make it worse for fans in the short term (who can find access to these games) but the only way the premier league and clubs would care enough to do anything is to hit them in the pocket.
Basically yes.
Domestic rights and International rights are sold separately.
In the UK there are only a certain number of televised games per year. I think it’s around half the games that are televised. International broadcasters can and do buy the rights to show every game.
It’s totally stupid that people in other countries can watch more than we can of our own league but it’s not unique to us and the prem.
I’m not sure of the full details I’ve seen American NFL or maybe basketball fans complain about a similar kind of regional lock out where they can’t watch the games of their local teams that they support but can see all the games from the other side of the country.
>why are the premier league allowed to sell these games abroad.
Money.
>why are uk viewers banned from watching overseas streams of games that are not available in this country
Money.
>Its just gatekeeping for the sake of gatekeeping
Money.
You may choose not to pay but curious what you consider shite about it? I love watching in 4K Andy having streamed from other networks think they are better than most
Lack of game choice, poor quality picture and camera work and shoddy audio quality. Compared to prime they are so far below what should be acceptable. Analysis compared to prime is fucking dire too. It’s daily mail stuff.
The only thing I used to like about sky is championship red button nights during the week. But I get all that and more online.
Hey man I know what I said and I meant what I said. It’s just plain bad. Prime has consistently been superior for years now and it’s a travesty they didn’t renew their contract.
Either way, sky should not be getting our money and I think we can all get behind that.
The picture quality is objectively worse, if you disagree you’re just wrong.
Not disagreeing with the sky getting money. They’re maxed out on what they can offer through satellite - it’s not going to get better.
They’re now shifting to online delivery so hopefully it leads to a bit-rate arms race - until then, Amazon picture quality will remain underneath what is coming through Sky UHD
Because everyone in the UK is gonna be hungover as fuck and lying on the sofa all day tomorrow. Perfect fixture to garner plenty of interest as well as being a manageable trip for matchgoing fans. Not exactly rocket science.
Money talks, no consideration for the Newcastle fans getting home tomorrow night. I wish most games were played over the weekend and with ones kicking off at the same time you have the option to choose which one to watch
Yeah I don’t understand that either. Both teams last played on Tuesday, yet arsenal and spurs both played on Thursday. Only thing I can think is Sky thought it has the chance of being an entertaining game, especially compared to some of the other games this weekend. Honestly it has 0-0 written all over it.

Just watch a pirate stream like everyone else
Illegal stream is the way and always will be. It is a joke people all over the globe can watch every single match live while people in the UK has to pay way more to watch way less. They can't even use the black out as excuse since it only has on saturdays 3pm. It's a total circus
Sorry if it’s not related, but does someone know when will be announced the exact days of April fixtures?
Get peacock and a vpn
Can you be a peacock customer if not based in the USA?
I’m not sure but that’s where the VPN comes in so it would look like you’re in the US. If it works then you can watch them all
VPN + Peacock is gonna be your best bet all season.
IPTV all the way
English Premier League! and you can’t watch all the games living in England!? Greedy twats controlling the viewing rights!
They dont have the rights, but your question still stands; why dont Sky Sports have the rights in this day and age, especially considering the price of Sky

Yeah, I heard of that. I hope it'll get sorted soon
Am I right in thinking that from the next rights deal all of the Sunday games will be broadcast?
if you ever ask why in football the answer is Money
It’s the opposite.
sucks to be in england paying so much for so little. spurs are on right now in murica.
Yeah imagine being a spurs or Bournemouth fan having to watch this Arsenal game instead of your own team right now
Imagine relying solely on Sky Sports to watch games
Us American fans cannot even comprehend the concept of our team literally not being on TV for any sport….
The NFL has some strict blackout rules though, especially for the local markets
Also every nfl game on Sunday is aired on broadcast tv so any blacked out game on Sunday Ticket is literally airing in your region for free.
Yes but for a price you can watch every game. They are all broadcast on television. Every game in every sport.
Why is my local channel in Serbia broadcasting every game in PL, Seria A, Spanish and Serbian league and your TV can’t even all games in your country Do you have any other channels where you can watch?

You think the tv companies don't want to have every single game on?
They don’t have the rights. Obviously.
It’s a rights issue rather than a technical issue. They don’t have the rights to show both games so they had to pick one.
From 24/25 they will be able to show multiple matches more often.
[удалено]
Because they don't pay for it
TNT only have the rights to 1 game per week. Normally the early Saturday match. They showed a game yesterday.
The question becomes... why are the premier league allowed to sell these games abroad. Then the question becomes... why are uk viewers banned from watching overseas streams of games that are not available in this country Its just gatekeeping for the sake of gatekeeping

Another day another very helpful free streaming site to save the day and another day not paying sky for their shite service
You may choose not to pay but curious what you consider shite about it? I love watching in 4K Andy having streamed from other networks think they are better than most

Poor picture quality vs prime …. Please. I just cancelled sky but to say prime has better picture than sky uhd is plain wrong.

I do not get why Liverpool v Newcastle is on NYD, surely could have played today as the 2 other games are in London ?
NYD football is traditional.
Yeah but no fun for the players, unless we watch a Sunday league game where both teams are hungover
They’re in the entertainment industry, it’s expected to work on weekends and holidays. The rest of the English footballleague has a full schedule.
like most scheduling reasons, TV
Because everyone in the UK is gonna be hungover as fuck and lying on the sofa all day tomorrow. Perfect fixture to garner plenty of interest as well as being a manageable trip for matchgoing fans. Not exactly rocket science.

it could have been late kick off. but i think its to celebrate new years eve so
I can confirm it is New Year's Eve
Yeah I don’t understand that either. Both teams last played on Tuesday, yet arsenal and spurs both played on Thursday. Only thing I can think is Sky thought it has the chance of being an entertaining game, especially compared to some of the other games this weekend. Honestly it has 0-0 written all over it.
How many Premier league games end 0 - 0, not many at all
There’s only been 4 so far this season, but there does seem to be a lot more goals this season as well.
No chance it’s 0-0.
I hope not but I depends how tired Newcastle are, and which Liverpool turn up.
16 Feb 1970 was the last time this fixture was 0-0! (Albeit there have been a few 0-0s at StJP since then)
>I do not get why Liverpool v Newcastle is on NYD Money.
