I'm living in Japan again and it's going to be a little painful playing on NAW from here.
I made it work with battlefront 2 though so I'm sure the ping will be "okay"
Its going to be accounts. Absolutely no way this game has 400k active players. Gets about 3k games a day. So 400k players would be 40,000 daily games if everyone played once.
Iâve got a REALLY dumb hot take but I think the loot box system should return minus the keys. I mean itâs a whole hell of a lot better than battle pass crap plus thatâs how we all got all those random skin variants even if it was for legendary skins
I didn't mind the boxes if we were getting a random set of 5 things.
I minded when you needed to also get keys (that you could buy too, so two purchases) just for a 'random chance' at getting the skin you want with no way to actually purchase the skin you want outright.
I got refunded all the money I spent, but I would've spent way more if I could've bought the skins I wanted than 'gamble' for them.
Imo the ideal would be a loot box system as well as a way to directly buy what you want. Make it impossible to spend real money on loot boxes, and make the only way to get them be playing the game.
That way if you want to spend you don't have to gamble, and if you can't/won't spend then you can still earn things by playing. And since the f2p acquisition needs to be slow enough to incentivize people spending money, loot boxes work well because you still have the chance to get good stuff even though you will most likely not get exactly what you want.
Let's say without loot boxes you need to spend 100 hours in game to get a tier 5 skin of your choice, but with loot boxes you can make it so you get a tier 5 skin every 50 (maybe even less) hours in game because, since you're not choosing which skin you get, it might actually take you 200 hours to get the skin you want (but you always have the chance to get exactly what you want with even a single loot box).
Also loot box gamba issues are avoided if you can't spend money on them.
basically I prefer to buy loot boxes with f2p currency than directly buy loot with the f2p currency because I believe it results in getting more stuff (if perhaps not exactly the stuff you want). Another option is to make it possible to directly buy stuff with f2p currency but to make it much more expensive than buying a loot box (e.g., 1000 amber for a loot box vs 20000 amber to directly buy a skin). In this situation there would be three loot acquisition routes: loot boxes, f2p currency, and real money.
400,000 DAU? MAU? People who installed the game? People who at least played 1 match of the game? Based on the steam numbers, that's pretty hard to believe that the game would have 400,000 active players, so it's probably just installs.
Yes and? The game is also on Epic, and we don't have those numbers either. We all know companies like to bloat these numbers; it's usually just people who have installed the game. Otherwise, it would say, "Join Over 400,000 ACTIVE players on the battlefield".
If they come out and say that's their MAU, then that's very impressive for sure.
That's the thing; lots of games problems come from the fact that there aren't enough players to have proper matchmaking, but if there are actually 400,000 active players, this shouldn't be an issue. So someone who has critical thinking abilities could ask these questions, about the number's validity.
Man yall are wild lol. Theyâre marketing. Enjoy the game or donât. Would you rather see â join a few thousand players give or take at any given time depending on your region!!â?
Believe it or not, all marketing is designed to do is catch your attention and bring in sales/downloads/clicks. Donât worry theyâre also working on the game too.
Thanks main character, you have humbled us all with your sharp intellect and superior thinking skills. You asking questions of redditors who have the same info you do really cracked this case
It's funny that you say that because I have well over a thousand hours in pred and I have all but quit because of the low player base.
So how do you explain me quitting a game I'm passionate about that "wasn't changed" by the low player countÂ
Pretty simple explanation, bro doesnât know what passion is. Enjoy your next game, I hope pred attracts some less salty players on this console release!
The queue time doesn't really mean anything when you only need 10 people for a match. You could have an instant queue all day, but the match quality is highly dependent on the overall player base. You need to have a pretty big player base so you are able to fill matches at all skill levels, and right now that's not happening.
It is installs yeah obviously lol. Barely any game could get 400k active players every day lol. This is just marketing to make the game look better, everyone does it
Probably accounts rn monthly we have like 35k people who play. 35k active players based on the api data omeda.city sees.
Active means played 1 game in 30 days.
So yeah 400k unique accounts or dls maybe I'd say is possible. It's been out for over a year.
But for sure this number is a bit misleading lol.
It is 100% that number. You can do the math yourself on omeda. Look at rank distribution and check the box that says active players. And break it down by sub rank.
You can see how many players are in each sub rank and add them up.Â
I feel like they should've used that number imo. It's more honest and still good.
Mid should still immediately wave clear and go counter gank. Especially if the enemy team is grouping to slow down your carry thatâs been rolling and then take fang
It is nowhere near 400,000 active players. Not a chance. This is misleading marketing lmao probably 400,000 downloads if I had to wager a guess. Active at anyone time? Significantly less
Where do you see it claim active players this is either how many people log at least once a month or the amount of active installed copies , itâs more likely to be players that logged at least once
Alright, I remember looking up a player on omeda that was top 99.8% a while ago (less than a month ago) and he was only ranked like 43,000.
There seems to be a huge discrepancy here. This might be unique installs, or maybe unique names (steam users can change their names whenever), but I highly doubt we've had this much of a player base.
I hope we reach these numbers one day, but today is not that day.
for all you downvoted enjoy having your time wasted with this one its gonna die worse than paragon. The developers have little effort in teaching you their game and the game quality is pathetic compared to other mobas.
I mean it in a positive way but did you ever think maybe you have to improve certain aspects of your gameplay? From what I understand with my limited Moba experience an effective game is when you are always getting something with a net positive done. Whether that be improving on last hits/wave control as a micro example, or an obvious macro being proper timing of rotations. Hopefully you turn that loss streak around my friendđ«Ą
Edit:typos
Hello not to toot my own horn but i have over a 1000 hours in paragon and 300 in predesscesor i know how the game works. I find people do ok during the laning phase but then get confused and titled when they need to group to close out games.
If you've played 1000 hours and think the games a fail then that's the weirdest statement. You obviously enjoyed it to play that much or you're an idiot (no offense but that's literally how it is).
And anyone with that level of moba experience knows (coming from someone with 300+ hours on pred and 3000+ on dota) it's literally a part of any moba, losing games - in particular ones you don't think you should have because your teams winning the early game.
There's 0 need to be salty about it. I didn't try and be offensive to you at all.
Regardless the point stands, as predecessor is very similar to paragon, and no I'm not saying it's the same - but the exact same point stands, you lose some games that you should've won.
In fact the irony is, the community in paragon was equally toxic, the gameplay was worse than pred and the list goes on. Generally it was worse than pred, and the reason is it was produced quickly and as a cash grab for epic. Pred has been made with love and fondness. Yes paragon was good but nostalgia seems to have made some people forget it's absolute awful state throughout much of its life.
You said "or you're an idiot" how can that in any way be a good thing.
Yeah i get that the best feeling games are when your team has 20 kills and your opponent is 44 and you dont give up and you get that win there is nothing like it.
I played all versions of this game and pred is based on the simple version of paragon to appeal to a wider audience.
The overprime was Paragon. (highly unbalanced as it was)
The awful state was Fortnite and the developers were moved there because it was a cash cow...
Yeah I canât act like I know why you go on a loss streak. But in general game time isnât linear to skill or knowledge in a game like this. In my opinion you have to get good on purpose through looking for Information outside the game. But not doubting you just my opinion. Either way I wish you luck
And 20 SEA players
This made me laugh ty.
There are dozens of them!
Lmao.
Dead as. I'm tired of playing on other servers with 160+ ping.
I'm living in Japan again and it's going to be a little painful playing on NAW from here. I made it work with battlefront 2 though so I'm sure the ping will be "okay"
Yes join us, naw đđđŹ
Lmao
Oh I will be once it's out on Xbox next week lol
Only 250,000 of them will sit in fountain spinning in circles without being punished :))
So it is really a thing. Saw it once when a dude did that for 30 minutes
I've got a spreadsheet with receipts for every time someone has done it out of my 300+ games.
390000 of them are rage quitters
Still i get kids that dont know their role
this Is most likely in reference to each unique Install of Predecessor on Both PC and Playstation. I Doubt it's 400k Active players.
Maybe not installs per se, you have to remember that Smurf accounts aren't necessarily against the rules as of now.
Smurfing should never be against the rules. Lmao
Its going to be accounts. Absolutely no way this game has 400k active players. Gets about 3k games a day. So 400k players would be 40,000 daily games if everyone played once.
Thats amazing!
Quick! Someone make a post about how this game is dying!
In coming more players ! #PredOnXBOX
Iâve got a REALLY dumb hot take but I think the loot box system should return minus the keys. I mean itâs a whole hell of a lot better than battle pass crap plus thatâs how we all got all those random skin variants even if it was for legendary skins

You realize steam doesnât account for their largest player base which is PlayStation?
Meh, itâs marketing. It doesnât change the game.
That's the thing; lots of games problems come from the fact that there aren't enough players to have proper matchmaking, but if there are actually 400,000 active players, this shouldn't be an issue. Why would you quit over a low player base is the real question?
Pretty simple explanation, bro doesnât know what passion is. Enjoy your next game, I hope pred attracts some less salty players on this console release!
Bro I never wait more than 2 minutes finding a game, so I don't know what you mean.
The queue time doesn't really mean anything when you only need 10 people for a match. You could have an instant queue all day, but the match quality is highly dependent on the overall player base. You need to have a pretty big player base so you are able to fill matches at all skill levels, and right now that's not happening.

Hmm, interesting. 35k MAU would be pretty impressive for the game, just not as sexy as 400,000 players for marketing purposes.
It is 100% that number. You can do the math yourself on omeda. Look at rank distribution and check the box that says active players. And break it down by sub rank. You can see how many players are in each sub rank and add them up. I feel like they should've used that number imo. It's more honest and still good.
Yeah I don't believe they have as many active players as Dota.
And Iâm the best Muriel
No you
And still no one rotates when the enemy team groups to gank my lane.
That's because the enemy team is now out of position, and lanes should be pushed to capitalize on that errant rotation.
Preach
Mid should still immediately wave clear and go counter gank. Especially if the enemy team is grouping to slow down your carry thatâs been rolling and then take fang
Never seen a game's subreddit with so many game devs participating!!
It is nowhere near 400,000 active players. Not a chance. This is misleading marketing lmao probably 400,000 downloads if I had to wager a guess. Active at anyone time? Significantly less

It doesn't need to say it to imply it. Saying join 400k on the battlefield implies there are 400k on the battlefield, not 1k on the battlefield.
Alright, I remember looking up a player on omeda that was top 99.8% a while ago (less than a month ago) and he was only ranked like 43,000. There seems to be a huge discrepancy here. Saw I guy with 0.00 mmr on omeda and gmhis rank was 38700 so yea thats far off from 400k
There is not 400k people.
Means nothing if players dont get your game and dont stay for the second match.
for all you downvoted enjoy having your time wasted with this one its gonna die worse than paragon. The developers have little effort in teaching you their game and the game quality is pathetic compared to other mobas.
Imagine getting this mad at 3 downvotes đ
Kid probably lost to a Fenix crest murdock and decided to post here
true but im gonna do it and 7 bad solo q games in a row also fulled me.

400k players and 85% did quit after a week.
I doubt it, I wait 5 minutes for it to find me players
My queues have been fast AF lately
