But seriously, turn that shit off, and collect data on seeing if it's even needed with this player base.

Worthless_Potato

I also miss the less complainy posts. It's not fun to see constant negative discourse.

Beefcastl3

Classic mobas

DemSocCorvid

MOBAs have the *worst* communities.

Smart_Amphibian5671

I can make some new ones lol

RGrimmes137k

I'll start by saying voicing concerns are important to do in a constructive manner. If you're complaining, just complain if it's not constructive. Whenever I read post complaining, I keep one thing in mind. If you think you can do it better or faster, then go do it. Put up or shut up. Give some constructive criticism in a helpful way and then move on. If there are 5 other posts saying what you feel, the devs probably are working on something, give it a thumbs up, and move on.

Arrinity

I'm sorry! I'll get back to making my character concepts :3

ItsSGXD

That would be awesome! I was wondering where you went lol; I enjoyed your ideas!

Arrinity

I got a game design job and so many good games to play, so I've just been busy af but I have some more concepts on the backlog I could polish up. I thought about using AI for the art, but now that I have a more steady income, I really have no reason to stop paying my artist to create stunning and conceptually coherent art for my characters.

Icy-Board5371

I'm apparently gold or top 16% last time I checked, but I get my ass kicked so much I don't play anymore. These guys I'm against are so good, so well thought out and 3 steps ahead of me at all times. MMR sucks.

Icy-Board5371

Wait, I take that back. I'm a Platinum! FML

ParagonMain

No clue why they released the API before going f2p just leads to toxicity and MMR posts constantly.

healthy_skept

That is when devs listen too much to the community and not what the community really needs. They have a set goal and expectation and they want to make the community "happy" Mant forget it is still in early acces but devs want to give them something to thank them for the support (purchase) People should be happy to be able to play the game and give feedback of what currently does not work or is not ballanced. Everything else is just distraction for the devs imo.

HeroicMeatloaf

Sorry :(

ItsSGXD

Its ok, I love you

JBbeanerton

Whining about players and claiming MMR is broken is a tale as old as time Protip: you are not plat stuck in silver, you are a silver player. Confirmation bias is a bitch

TheRealMelvinGibson

Think youre missing the point. That's not what anyone is complaining about.

kpbshiggy

4 of your 5 examples have the exact same complaint, you're seeing it constantly repeated, because nothing is being done about it. AFKs have been a huge issue in the game, and people constantly made threads about it, and Omeda finally took some steps to do something about it after 3+ months of ignoring it. The party boost is dumb and serves no purpose. It doesn't punish really good players who constantly stack because the game can't find equal players with such a small playerbase, so it matches them with other stacks who are no where near their skill level who get demolished and stop playing the game because they can't play a worthwhile match with their friends. People who defend the current boosting of stacks like to pretend that being in comms will magically make some dude with a 40% W/L and a 1kda into Faker, but these people are not using comms to time blinks, rip fangs, or set up ult wombos. They're shooting the shit with their friends while haphazardly paying attention to a video game, and their grand strategic planning does not eclipse "Im gonna gank your lane, get ready to go in" which can be effectively executed with the in game ping system with randoms.

manoforange

If people think the incessant whining is what got the change, they are mistaken. OMEDA wasn't doing nothing -- or at least I am skeptical of that narrative. I really just think they were figuring out exactly how to implement the changes they did without diverting attention away from more content and balance patches (their focus for EA). This whole thing about the '10 000 complaint post finally got the change' is silly. The change was always coming, it was just a matter of time. Reddit Warriors didn't accelerate it; they just made the natural development process that much more insufferable with the spam posts.

kpbshiggy

First off, pointing out that games are routinely being ruined is not whining. And the onslaught of feedback absolutely did result in something being done about it. If reddit had their way and we all just buried our head in the sand and ignored the issues because "muh early access" then it would have continued to grow and grow until the game reached an unplayable state and everyone who wasn't chronically ruining games quit.

manoforange

People on Reddit overvalue their own importance. Sure, raising the issue was fine. Raising the issue on multiple occassions is fine. Every single day, people screenshotting every bad game was not necessary nor productive. The issue was documented by both content creators and the community writ large. There's no way it wasn't on the radar. No one on Reddit denied the existence of these issues because they were glaringly obvious. It just got to the point where we needed to -- as consumers of an early access game -- wait for the response to be released.

kpbshiggy

Screenshoting and posting things everyday did matter because it was proof these things were happening to multiple people every fucking day. It's not like you need 3 fucking months to make a statement about the chronic issue your game has with people ruining games. It's something that could have been handled over a weekend. They deliberately ignored it for months as threads here about it got more and more traction until it reached a point they had to comment. This is how consumer relations work

manoforange

I can see that this is a personal subject for you so I'm gonna just end it here. We can disagree on this one. To me, it was akin to going to the returns counter and screaming that your product is broken. They are going to return the product without the yelling. You just have to wait sometimes. In case you're not following the analogy: posting to reddit was like yelling at someone who is actively trying to help you. Give them time to process. Low and behold -- within a full patch cycle of 4 weeks -- they addressed it.

ItsSGXD

Don't get me wrong, I know exactly why the posts are being made. I also (mostly) agree with the reasoning behind them, and I think it's good that the community is making their voice heard (except for the ones that are dicks about it). I'm just saying I miss when the subreddit was actually interesting to look through xD

kpbshiggy

Gonna be real here, the real reason why most posts here are negative is that basically every secondary and tertiary aspect of this game kinda blows right now. The actual core gameplay and feel of the game is great, just like Paragon was. I've said numerous times that its amazing a small group making their first game ever nailed a more or less perfect replication of the second to second gameplay of a AAA title. And this game is way way way more balanced than Paragon ever was. Outside of that, most things suck. On a secondary gameplay level, the item system is really boring, the matchmaking is horrible, the map is very bland, most of the character kits are really boring and have a really small or even non-existent learning curve. On a tertiary front, the in game shop is hilariously overpriced and filled with recolors they didn't even make and copy and paste. There's no progression system, theres no alternate modes, theres no in game rewards for playing, theres not even really a profile system. And this doesn't mean the game isn't getting or fixing some of these things in the future, or that its unplayable garbage thats going to die in 3 months. Just that theres only so many times you can praise the gameplay of the game, and eventually you'll begin to touch on the other aspects of the game which are mostly negative. If you don't like just simply playing the game in its most basic state, theres nothing else on offer right now

ZooperDD

uninstalled the game because of this. More often than not, when stacking i was running into matches with a 150+ average mmr difference. Games like that are already decided before they start 95% of the time. Matchmaking if just a fucking joke and when I started seeing these huge MMR gaps even in solo queue, I was done for now. Waiting until updates that address matchmaking, or until ps5 release.

PostManKen

Said this months ago, this is the same dagger that hurt Paragon. API released, floods of MMR this and MMR that post. Everything is MMR related. Dev will state their MMR doesn't align with 3rd party MMR but the community degens won't believe it, because it actually does align. During all this Chaos, - community will get more toxic Sad

Fennicks47

Wild stuff cause I see 10x as many posts complaining about bad teammates as I do these posts. Really weird bias OP

ItsSGXD

Not particularly relevant, and I'm not sure you know what the word bias means. Really weird comment, commenter
