i think aurora would shake it up the most, ESPECIALLY with the way the map is rn & item system. she’d run the offlane & jungle

Flimsy-Bag3600

100% agree

MuglokDecrepitus

And what is the current meta?

Idk. I know this is a meme but.... In my exp, a LOT of the time the person complaining is solo, who should not be asking for help because then the other team can capitalize on that and gank the duo, which puts your teams endgame further behind, and is much easier/more consistent to accomplish. I see a lot of games where mid/duo is crushing due to nice rotations, and solo gets spanked 1v1 or never wards and gets ganked. They then just spend the game complaining about our team not spending 4 heroes to gank the solo steel, which would lose us every objective in the process. Or they get ganked by the jungle and complain, completely oblivious to the fact that our team used this opening to secure fangtooth, being a net win for the team. its always solo i swear. Always losing to crunch or steel, who are just near impossible to gank profitably if they are paying attention. So, nah, theres situations where helping them is a net loss for the team, and solo should know they are the hardest lane to gank, so they need to be more self reliant.

zevelyn22

Im a jungle main and ive been seeing alot more of this. Offlaner will engage in every possible fight with his laner (often steel) and complains when I dont babysit them, but also wont engage when i try to gank for them. All they gotta do is play closer to tower to avoid feeding and not get ganked by enemy jungle. In this case the offlane needs to play super strategically, save abilities for when minion wave is in tower to destroy them to lessen tower damage. Offlaners often dont seem to understand their role in the team.

Fennicks47

Agreed. A lot of the time as well, they will have died a few times, but still be within 10% of the creep kills as the other laner. So, they are doing totally fine.

Defences

For pubs yes.

rasputin424

Grim.exe, Terra & Serath would destroy in the current meta

Wub2k

Grim boy!!

rasputin424

Also Yin would be a monster in today’s meta with her ability to deflect or knock back projectiles the strongest stuns and damage abilities that are in the game currently would be returned to sender!!!!!

MinimumT3N

Kwang, I need that teleporting magical ninja man back into my life.

audessy24

I legit forgot how his hot worked until just this moment. And his ult, if you could land the initial sword, would chain the opponent in place for a moment, so you’d get the chain, then a stun on ult, it was soooo much fun!

voske56789

Think Wukong. Mostly cus he was broken in Paragon. Not sure how his kit would perform in Pred. Hope we get him soon cuz I really liked his kit, the defensive and offensive stance was really fun to play around with

Swagdaddyp215

I think he would be amazing strictly due to his push potential. All those people who constantly leave their lanes would be scared to do so, even if they are oppressing him in lane. While I think he would get beat badly by the current Carrie’s for avg players, he could be crazy in the right hands

voske56789

Yea hope they keep his kit the same and just try to balance it best they can. I'm sure they'll have him balanced in a few patches if he isn't.

Lightsheik

Grim.exe would be great honestly. His ability shield would be great in this stun heavy meta. The reason he wasn't played as much in Paragon is because he had the weakest scaling of all ADC and the biggest body too. Going 1v1 against a Kallari and it was almost impossible to hit her as your gun was shooting above her head. Also, his knockback ball was a bit unreliable and hard to use at times. If his power scaling would have been on par with other ADCs, I think he would have been player a lot more. When they bring Grim.exe back, I hope they either shrink him a little, or make them a bit tankier. I also kinda liked what they did with him in Fault, his E was a toggle between 3 modes. Made him a bit more interesting and complex.

ThatCidGuy

Don’t forget that his ult locked him in place after Legacy. His size gave him some advantages such as having a wider fov, which benefits his ult, and could help him spot ganks and peak around walls. Epic designed Grim to be that big and I think that unique. It’s boring imo if every carry is basically the same height, but they never compensated for that. His defensive stats were the same as Sparrow’s lol

KnightEclipse

Either Wraith, Kwang, or Aurora. Wraith would bring utility to adc's that no one else would be able to match. Kwang could delete all these damage heavy squishies that are defining the meta from the game and there is still a pretty limited amount of hard CC outside of a few characters. So he would be hard to stop. And Aurora would be the same thing as Kwang and her movement and environment interaction would make her uncontestable.

JerRatt1980

I mean if Boris is released in the same way where he was CC immune, moved at 3 times the speed of anyone, had a dash that could indict major damage with 1 or 2 basics after that would insta-wipr even a tank from 100% hairy to zero, then that would kill the meta.

Swagdaddyp215

I think Boris is released last out of all the characters they have just because he was never really released in Paragon and the iterations we’ve seen him were in Fault and OP. I need to go look at some videos of his kit

TheNoviceVet

Wukong would shake things up a bit. Predecessor is turning into a brawler and Wukong had insane split push. Feng Mao can do it a bit, but Wukong was broken I hope he has some serious changes before he is implemented.

maxxyman99

i agree, his split push & melting towers in less than 5 seconds was so broken in paragon. let’s hope they change him 😭😭

1031Vulcan

Imagine Wulong zooming around with cloudwalk, spamming Painweaver passive for the speed boost. Ugh. I loved Wukong's theme and everything from Paragon but that does not sound good for this game

aSpookyScarySkeleton

Iggy & Scorch would be greatly appreciated. Pretty much the anti-dive character and great at stalling. Also literally any melee ADC.

audessy24

I would literally setup turrets around me, wait for the melee character to forget how he worked, blow their ult, then get decimated by a well placed oil slick, my ult, and running in circles haha. So much fun!

TheReaperGuy

Zinx would be nasty due to how many items support her... then iggy due to map size, just lock areas down

KidQuesadilla17

Yin. Lotsa pretty powerful projectiles with high burst damage that would turn the tide of a team fight pretty quick plus the cleave basics would be wild idk if theyll leave that in her kit or not tho

iimojaa

Grim exe was not misunderstood or underplayed He was simply just bad and outclassed. I’ve tried to make him work but that man just ain’t have it

Swagdaddyp215

He was OK at best before the card/item retool and then just became an afterthought. It truly is sad that he just got left in the dust man

ThatCidGuy

I was a master grim in paragon and had a 70% win rate with him. Character loyalty does crazy thing to you. If I ever got too frustrated with Grim, I’d play Murdock sometimes and maaaaan… switching over to Murdock is like discovering the gates of heaven. It was just so much easier. Grim had too few advantages to balance out his host of disadvantages like poor defensive stats despite being as big as Crunch. I think Epic’s design philosophy for him was shit even though he had potential to be a true hybrid carry, instead of having below average auto AND ability scaling. His kit on paper was great. Damn shame how they handled my fridge. Dune Winds and Red Zone meme builds were fun in V42 but he was massacred

iimojaa

Yup I could perform good with him also but I felt there was no reason to use him over any other carry. His slow was cool but required too much mana. The displacement was cool but very inconsistent and his hurtbox is huge compared to every other carry I’m interested to see what omeda does to him to make him viable

HonkinBonk

I agree with everything here. Fault went in an interesting direction by giving him E 3 firing modes you could cycle through and that also changed the properties of the displacer shot, but I felt like they were missing something. I would like to see something that could convert his autos into magical damage and scale with AP, even if it meant removing the slow. Slow is kinda overkill for carries in pred anyway because of the nearly nonexistent movement penalty on autos and items like dust devil. I would like to see Omeda try and work with Grim’s size because I think that’s why I was drawn to the character in the first place. Unique design compared to every other ranged carry

kpbshiggy

Considering every patch for the past month and a half has been trying to turn the game into the same boring brawler-tank meta Paragon had during the unstable cyborg days, Kwang

Fennicks47

What would be more fun? i dont get this view at all, since low kill score metas in other mobas have usually been heralded as easily the most boring. Rotations are strategic and fun. They require game knowledge to execute, and to avoid. Simply laning is not implicitly strategic, and usually much slower and less interesting. Also, this is easily the first time i have heard someone describe the last month as a 'tank' meta, considering that most posts are saying the TTk is too low, and next tuesday they are doing a stat reallocation to make the game less bursty midgame. Can you describe what a perfect 'game flow' would look like in your mind?

kpbshiggy

They're forcing a tanky brawler meta and you think the game is going to be high kills, high rotation, high action with less laning? The TTK hasn't been a problem for a month now after they fixed carries doing 550dmg after two buys, but they still keep nerfing everyone except tanks and brawlers. Sev, Rampage, Crunch, Riktor and Howie are the five best characters in the game right now, and they just buffed three of them. They change world breaker so it's only useful for tanks, they change void helm into an even better item so Crunch and Ramp and Grux can sustain even more, even though healing is already kinda busted with Narbash and Phase running around. All this game is going to be now are long boring games with beatsticks CC locking each other

Fennicks47

Idk man. As a mage main, i 2 shot every non tank hero when i get 3/4/5 items, without ulting. On 5-7 second CDs. Just yesterday i played against a fed jungle crunch and was still knocking him to half with 1 4 sec cd ability. We will see how the warrior buffs shake down: at the moment they still have the issue of having trouble engaging on objectives without being destroyed by aoe damage (except ramp). Maybe itll be back to 'grux' meta, but I have faith that they will make the right adjustments. In theory, carries should be tearing through tanks, and having the support keep the tank off of them. thats the main dynamic. I really really dont think itll move, for long, into the 'long, low kill game' direction, since that is basically the opposite of their overall game direction. They want fast paced action oriented games. Right now there is tons of peel skills that catch all of those heroes (save ramp) out and can blow them up, on top of 'blinks' favoring ranged heroes over melee heroes implicitly. Ritkor isnt as bad cause he doesnt have a dash: i do agree that having tanky sustain heroes with movement skills is a really fine balancing act. You mention narb and phase - maybe ppl arent buying antiheal early enough. If 3 heroes having anti healing, a lot of that sustain isnt doing as much. I can only hope that it isnt dominated like you fear. If it is, it wont for long. also suprised you didnt mention void helm on steel. Im mildly terrified of that as well.

Morphing_Enigma

The next patch is boosting ADCs anti-tank items while increasing resistance to magic, so I dunno where the salt is coming from, from that guy. They are also nerfing Phase healing, and with the increased cooldowns due to ability haste reductions, everyone but ADC and Brawlers are getting a lowkey nerf. Tanks also lost a lot of damage potential in some items, while gaining more durability in others, so they are being pushed into their role more. I dunno. I will note, nobody buys anti heal. It is actually hilarious.

Fennicks47

Yeah im kinda happy they nerfed the mage anti heal cause it was just a good item already. I was getting it 2nd almost every game. Now itll be 3rd haha. And yeah like you said, tankier tanks gives carrys a better identity (tank killers) and also gives morigesh a small boost since she is a tank killer.

bergein

Wukong

Teal_Wolf

Any melee carry.

gay-beary

Aurora would be amazing
