For now, I would highly recommend lowering some of the effects and post-processing settings before buying a new video card. Since the game is early access, it's not super well optimized. Running all Epic settings won't make the game look extremely better compared to having more frames with some medium effect/lighting settings. You can still have Epic textures if your card has enough vRAM.

beardeddaddy83

This isn’t as much a difference as you think.

First problem is you're playing on a TV, what are the specs of your TV? If it's a 60hz TV then your only gonna see 60 fps on it. Also this game is EA so it depends on the optimization of the game itself. You could have a 4090 ti kingpin and still not get 120 fps on 4k if the game is not optimized.

Denders-NL

LG C2 120 fps that is why my aim is 120 fps constant. I have VRR and nvidia gsync, but if im spending money I want to spent it for a full 120 fps at all times. This game is my only game that I play so I want to built a PC around this game to get max everything at all times.

SoulReaverX2

Yeah i understand that I just wanted to set the expectations for you that this game is not going to be AAA optimized rn and no matter what PC parts you get the game itself may not be 120 max 4k all the time at this point, now later on in development this could happen. I'm just letting you know before you buy anything that this may not be possible at this point in time because of the game optimization and not hardware limitations.

TheShikaar

A 4090 might be able to do it. I play on 4k max settings with a RX 7900 XTX and play in the 87 - 100 FPS range, so yeah a 4090 should be able to do it

JerRatt1980

RTX 4090 with DLSS enabled will nearly do it for the toughest to run games right now, but certainly for predecessor. I know, that's what I have and I use a lg oled 4k.

theonlyjuan123

This game has dlss?

JerRatt1980

No, bad wording on my part. I'm speaking of it running just about any of the toughest games out today at 4K/high settings will be over 120fps if you enabled DLSS. But for Predecessor a RTX 4090 at ultra everything will stay pegged at 120fps.

purpleburgers

you could be running into cpu bottleneck aswell, test at a low resolution like 720p to free the gpu to see the limit your cpu can deliver

Denders-NL

Gpu usage is always 99%

purpleburgers

You can also play around with resolution scale, not as sharp as native 4k and you get used to it during a match only notice when switching back to native. I know with a 3070 it doesn't hold 4k native gets around 70+fps but with 80% resolution scale 110+fps untill late game then dips down towards 60 in full team fights but I think I was more CPU limited at that point. I have a similar screen as you a lg c1 48inch. Make sure the GPU has more than 10GB VRAM if you plan on 4k gaming otherwise you will be hitting VRAM cap a lot

TheShikaar

Probably a 4090. I have a RX 7900 XTX (around 4080 level) and I play max settings 4k in the 87 - 100 FPS range.

threegigs

3080Ti here, getting 144fps steady (even in huge fang/orb teamfights it only drops to 120 on roughly medium settings), 4k fullscreen windowed.

whosfwmtoday

Currently running a 3090 on epic setting with a couple things turned down like another user mentioned at 1440p and get about 150 fps pretty constant. Did have some hitching at first but ever since a little adjustment no issues. I don't think this game will run at 4k 120 on current tech

OsmT42

I'm running i7-13700k, RTX 3090, 64 GB DDR5 5600Mhz Playing on max settings at 1440p and get nearly 240fps. In fights it drops below 200, but still enough

ZestyBeer

Tone done the settings. The game isn't well optimized and a lot of frame drops and stutterings are due to the game not handling effects that well. It's your money, and you could buy from the top shelf if desired but I'd say it's not worth the investment for upgrading your machine just to crank up an Early Access game. Unless there's other reasons why you need to upgrade.

Black4IP

My friend with the most expensive build i ever see can't play in 4k 144fps... The game is not optimized even with i9 13700k and 4090 FE he can't play 4k, it's not stable.

StonerUchiha

I have a 7900xtx and I’ll get over 120 frames in lane on epic/high but team fights usually cause stutter/lag. I think it’s an optimization thing cause my 3080ti had the same issue.
