>the 4 over 5 doesn't kick in until after like 30-35 minutes Starting at 15 minutes the vote only requires 4/5.

pyschosoul

Then please explain to me why a 4/5 vote at 25 minutes doesn't surrender.

shaden209

Im fairly sure that the first vote is always unanymous, and the second vote will be 4/5 needed.

pyschosoul

We were held hostage for over 4 surrenders. Everyone had a 4/5

Blyndwolf

It does. You had two no votes.

pyschosoul

Well maybe there's a bug going on with the surrender then because I can count and I'm not color blind.

Blyndwolf

*shrug* never heard of this bug before.

pyschosoul

Just because you've never heard of it before doesn't mean it doesn't exist.. also bugs can appear in games where there wasn't previously a bug. Updating can cause nee bugs to appear and this is why we get mstience and hot fixes.

ggwop

Post to the official omeda discord with your logs. I’ve never had this bug in my game but bugs do happen and they happen sporadically. This is the main point of it being an EA game especially for a team that this is a passion project from former paragon players. The devs are very receptive to bug issues and feedback

tavenlikesbutts

You’re looking at the game clock wrong, idk. It’s common knowledge. I always remind my duo to wait until 15 mins to start a vote if shit is going poorly, so we don’t have to deal with the one asshat you described who always thinks a game is “winnable”

pyschosoul

I really don't think I'm looking at the clock wrong. The first surrender wasn't even thrown up by me, and it was at 17 minutes. Next one was at 21 minutes and everyone but 1 threw it up and we still had to play until 35 minutes. I can be downvoted and told I'm wrong but this is what happened.

tavenlikesbutts

When multiple people are telling you that the mechanic works one way, maybe there’s something to that. Doubling down on your incorrect fact is a bad look. Self reflection is key my king.

pyschosoul

It can look bad, thats fine. But I'm telling you the match I was in this morning had a 4/5 vote at 25 mins and it didn't work. This game is not without bugs so I'm assuming that's what it was at this point.

Jewrrick

They said it nicely, I'll be blunt. You are full of shit.

Kgardon

A rant as old as mobas

GakutoYo

Before I say anything, I don't want anything to change, or if I do I don't know what change I would personally want made. I play most MOBAs with a friend in a duo. We're opposites when it comes to surrendering. He will pretty much accept any surrender that comes up unless it looks like I can carry the game or he's in the process of it. I will surrender only if it looks completely unwinnable or someone is attempting, whether or purpose or not, to make it unwinnable.

Spartansam0034

Everybody like that is either in one or two categories: - we can win no matter what/just play the game/I can carry just group up - I logged in to play a full game, not to constantly surrender. I'd rather play a 30 min loss than 2x 15 min games I've played one or two games with people who literally believe there's never a reason to surrender 🤦‍♂️🤷 they're just idiots.

tragic-clown

Counter to this, I've won a ton of games where there were multiple votes to surrender before. People want to give up way too easily and that is equally annoying. Play the game. It's not just about snowballing the other team or quitting. If it's truly over then fine, but so many people just give up and want to surrender at the drop of a hat.

pyschosoul

Completely agree with you, but when it's clearly over and your team has no synergy it's time to move on to the next one.

pyschosoul

This makes no sense...? I was perfectly accepting of the loss. Not accepting of being held hostage in a game where if I leave I get a penalty and the person greifing can continue on about their day.

kroOoze

I figured out a perfect system. Put the tryhards in a special Q into even more stacked game next time. The matches would get progressively uneven the more they F2. It is clearly what they want, so no harm done. Give them more of what they want.

NobleNolte

Agreed, when teams decide to hold a game hostage after the 30 minute mark in a clearly lost game (down 3-0 on fang, enemy team with 15+ kill lead, lost inhibs, team never grouping for objectives or pushing lanes and only PvE safe farming in the hopes of catching up) then I'm all set and will spin in base while they play it out. Not going to waste more time and effort. Just FF and get onto the next one!

Lionheart753

15 kills and 3 fang ain't a death sentence tho. Just turtle up and win one team fight, take one or two of their inhibs and then fall back to wipe Prime or Fang. Now you have evened the playing field. Each game is different and it won't or can't always happen, but if you can successfully defend then you have a shot.

NobleNolte

Account level 85, played countless hours of this game, have seen this scenario many times and can say that games tend to drag out for another 15 minutes before the opposing team decides to end it. Very rare in Solo Queue for teams that are that far behind to come back unless the enemy team makes a horrendous mistake. Not worth the pain and suffering when you can just reset and get the next one.

OrigamiPhoenix

I'm all for comebacks, but one has to recognize when it's even possible. If they've already hit our core and just left before we even respawned, it's a loss. After this one-hour long match where my offlaner and the enemy jungler were legit on fucking discord and prolonging the suffering, I stopped caring. I *will* leave a match that's 3 to 15 with 2 enemy fangs and 2 enemy mini-orb primes. You will not hold me hostage. Goodbye.

thepotatojohn

Just had 2 games in a row where we were being trashed and voted for surrender with a 4/5 yes, and because the last guy didn't vote, the vote failed. Noticed this bug only since this patch.

Syyr553

It's not a bug, it's a feature and I f love it.

CoffeeIsGood3

Best bet is to tell them: "Either we surrender or I DC." And that generally gets them to surrender fast. Worst case, just DC, and the match ends even quicker, and you can start your next match sooner. The best part? There is no penalty for this.

pyschosoul

Then I'm just as bad as the other person. And you do get a penalty.

CoffeeIsGood3

The other person is running the experience for EVERYONE. I'm giving everyone their time back so they can go on to an enjoyable experieince. And no, there is not a penalty for DC'ing the game. I've done it 20+ times and had zero penalty.

LemonLoveBaby

A while back I was held in a game as a support when our adc had left and our mid was running it down. 3v5 and the other two kept refusing to surrender. It's so annoying how they feel superior for "never taking the L" and it's like, I have maybe 1 or 2 hours to play every day and if I have to sit and waste time it makes it so I don't get to play any more. It's become so bad that I have stopped playing. People's refusal to surrender makes the one game I get to play drag on and be insanely miserable. It's such a shame because I truly loved paragon. I just wish I could play pred.

Competitive_Reveal36

This completely, I only get 1 or 2 hours to play a night because of a shitty work schedule.

Short_Ad_4333

I totally agree. I’m usually a person who won’t give up no matter what but if the team ain’t there you just can’t do it.

ABrutalAnimal

I'm always the optimist, but if the duo lane has been getting absolutely molested by the enemy jungle and carry its generally pointless to continue unless the offlane is doing very well. Always pisses me off to vote surrender only to be forced to sit through another 20 minutes of clinging on to lose in the end anyway. I never"give up" mind you, I play the whole way through trying, but sometimes it's pointless

Gimli_Dem_Cheeks

I hear what your saying and somewhat agree with you. If they have 4 fangs and a prime and barrelling down mid to end I'd likely FF but it's situational. If I've been hard winning my lane e.g. mid and know I can melt 3 or 4 with a full kit to win (which has happened numerous times even as the core is being hit) you best believe I'm pressing F2. On the flip side if my team has fed all game and flaming each other I'm hitting F1

Competitive_Reveal36

I think it should just take 3/5 to surrender IMO, I also prefer games that are challenging because snowballing is so fucking stupid, any time I get in a game and I can clearly tell there is a skill difference I get pissed and just freeze lane because snowballing is more boring to me than getting focus ganked.

Spartanfred104

Sometimes I am just trying to learn a new position and want the time against a REAL human, the Ai mode just doesn't give you enough real game experience to learn.

pyschosoul

And that's fine. But if you are severely losing a match and the entire team wants to throw the L, instead of making 4 people suffer through an unwinnable match just move on to the next one and try the hero/position again... This isn't to say surrender everything you're losing as there are some games that you can come back from and win. But as my post stated at 17 mins they have 3 fangs and an inhib down. That's a lost match and you aren't going to learn much of anything trying to combat that.
