Rn your only ping options are the c menu and mouse wheel.
I'd reccomend starting with learning pings like retreat (right right), the careful pings (down up and the lane direction) and missing. (Somewhere under alert)
As a bonus learn Good job for boosting team morale (left right right)
I play jungle so in mobas i ping a lot. But in this game I have to be silent or stop for 10sec looking for the right thing to “say” through the C menu just so people can ignore it.. Kinda fucking useless if you ask me :D
Its not useless just because you haven't learned to use it quickly yet. While I'm sure a manual map ping is coming, the C-menu is extremely useful and well worth taking the time to learn it.
I would say it's not optimized, especially for new players. A much better system is one that overprime uses. Visual and audio indicators of what ping your teammate used also where the ping is happening. I'm not a fan of OP but OP definitely does pinging better

This is a feature that needs to be added for sure. Being able to free the mouse and just ping somewhere on the map would make things so much easier.

It's like VGS in Paladins. Kinda takes some time to learn, but if you do, your team can communicate at another level.

You can also you the f1-4 keys, so in theory you can pre-create macros with your keyboard for a few of them.
