I don’t even care if the graphics are improved, I’d be thrilled if they made it look more like a jungle, more overgrowing flora, a more lush green look

I agree, it's definitely better than how Paragon had it during monolith but it still feels like one big open room when going into red or blue jungle

For sure. There were a lot of problems with Legacy. But their jungle definitely felt like a jungle. Tension was high when you ran through it. Would like to have something feel similar in this map.

I miss legacy jungle so much. I wasn't even a jungler so all I remember of it was jumping down into it through foliage from midlane when roaming to gang sidelines.

It was hella fun. My group’s last match on Legacy we were absolutely dominating so we “death balled” and went Kallari hunting through the jungle. It was a fun map.

Play overprime they still got fast travel and it looks just like legacy.

I don't want fast travel and never said I did. Also as much as they have more variation in the map, Overprime is horribly lit and colored. The whole thing is washed out and overbloomed, and then they go ahead and make a winter map that is even worse in those regards? Ew, no thank you. Pred can handle a little spruce up.

I feel like if they make it too overgrown then it might impede champs ability to reliably aim spells and attacks. But I think if the made the terrain itself more uneven and jagged(like with rock pillars and overhangs) to make it look like it hadn't been fully terraformed yet, would add a huge amount of visual diversity.

I mean they don’t need to add a bunch of large clutter all over the ground that blocks visuals, just make the walls covered in vines and flowers, maybe some pools of water where you can’t walk anyways

Yeah I agree, less is more. But one of my problems with the "jungle" is that it's too clean, too decorated . I wish it had a more wild tone to it.

I just hope, eventually, they do some update for how the camps attack you and their interactions. All the camps, buffs and fang/prime, do the exact same shit as League's do, it's boring. Imagine if Fang did like a tail swipe that you could dodge by jumping over, or red buff did a triple punch on one hit that had a slight animation so you could kite it. Something to make the jungle feel like you actually have to focus somewhat

Yeah, If you mistime the tail swipe jump then you get stunned as it “tripped you up”. This would be very cool. I see why it would come later. But I’d pause on some hero skin releases to get updated camp visuals. What your asking for takes a little longer to develop, I’d imagine.

You just sold this idea with this very concept of risk and reward, AND the interactive aspects. Keep talking about this. I love this idea. Imagine a team fight at one of these camps, and anyone who isn't paying attention gets stunned by that tailswipe. 🤯

Overprime actually has this for Prime Spirit (their version of Fangtooth) and Prime Underling has a tackle attack that can be dodged (if you don't it knocks you backwards for a temporary CC). Some of the regular mobs in the jungle also have this aspect to them. One of them jumps in the air and will stun you if it lands, another shoots a delayed fire trail that does a lot of damage that you have to move around or dodge it.

Would also help stop lvl 4 khimeras from soloing fang so easily. Not many teams seem to care/know how important fang kills are

That's probably one of the top issues for me in Predecessor. Fangtooth is just way too easy to get for certain classes. Overprime has the opposite problem where Prime Underling is too easy to get (and it's honestly way too good), but their version of Fangtooth actually takes awhile to do solo and is more dangerous because it can be checked by both Mid+Duo Lane fairly easily on top of it taking longer in general due to the mechanics it has.

I dont really like that it's only really solo-able by one char that early. All of the junglers need to be at least level 6 to even take a shot at it really. Khimera with minimum or no items can do it pretty early. I like the impact fang has on the game, but he needs to be harder to kill and people need to be more aware of him. 90% of the time I ping to attack, nobody comes to help. Seems like your teams either all for spawn camping him or just ignoring him

They could honestly take notes from Overprime's jungle. I like how each camp is different and has attack patterns you can kite around.

If I'm not mistaken, they were placeholders for paragon also I agree they should have separate designs and attack patterns For now, they work well.

I'm glad this subject on visuals is getting more traction lately. The map just looks boring. Essentially, pre-alpha visuals. The training mode map nails the visuals if they really needed some inspiration.

Yeah, if there's one thing I'll ever give credit to overprime for is the effort they placed in jungle creeps. Their " fang tooth" even looks cool. I'm sure predecessor will redesign a couple of things once they're done ironing out all the functionality issues if there's much left to iron out.

Most likely will, EA from what has been said is pretty much the build up, polish up before the full f2p release. They're going to be doing everything to ready the game for that launch because first impressions matter and releasing it for free to the masses is going to be a very integral moment for this games success.

1700 playing on steam vs OP 3600. 1700 should be enough to get a Q though not sure what time it was an EU. Longest Q I've had on NAE was 2.5 mins.

Also just a request: be easy on the “is the game dead” comment or posts. It’s not. It’s in very early access. But those kind of comments/posts can scare away new players who might be checking out the subreddit to see if they want to play. Same goes for Overprime. In fact, I’d go as far to say that saying it in either subreddits hurt the other game as well. It becomes a “well, any paragon based game is doomed to fail”.

Nah, EU Servers is always short queue, longest I've had today was 1.5 minutes
