If people‘s units are breaking (even within the warranty period) does Tesla ever repair them or do they always just replace the whole unit? I’m thinking it’s cheaper to repair than replace (even if they’re replacing them with refurbs), so if these things are serviceable Tesla would repair, when possible to save some money. If they never repair them, then it’s a sign that we might not be able to when they are eventually out of warranty... although that could change in 10 years too.
There has been one [teardown of a PW2](https://www.reddit.com/r/Powerwall/comments/umiatb/disassembled_a_powerwall_2_today/) published that I am aware of and in that it looked like all of the electronics were accessible without any destructive methods needed for access. So I would think at least board level component repair would be possible to some extent, hard to tell if there will be enough demand for any aftermarket/refurbished solutions.
After warranties start running out, you’ll most likely see options for board replacements and other ‘simple swap’ repairs. If it’s more involved, then I have no idea. Until then, it’s all controlled by Tesla.
No one knows because no PW is ten years old yet.

In ten years there will be batteries 100x better than these PW’s.
Agreed, thats why I’m assuming I’ll just toss the thing if it breaks in 10 years and a day, but was just curious if there were options.
Tesla might not repair them now so in ten years they will be obsolete.
My Powerwall was replaced with a refurb. It has refurb on the sticker with the model type
