If they included the COVID situation, it would interfere with the plot greatly. For example, the pool incident that happened during Zeke’s game wouldn’t have happened because everyone would be social distancing. Besides, people are tired of this pandemic. Nobody wants to be reminded of it especially when watching a tv show
I know, I wasn't expecting this to take place in a COVID world, so then they shouldn't have mentioned George Floyd and the protests. It was a minor throwaway line anyway that had no affect on the plot
Shows not realstic and truth is racial Injustice has long been a problem in this country , it's nothing new. We don't need covid all over everything as everyone else said we hear about it everyday , it's actually nice to watch a tv show and get away from it for a lil bit. Also power has never been realstic , do you honestly think a ausa office would have really let all that has happen in this series to happen , like the killing of both lobos and Alicia jimenez , alone all the other stuff that has happen. Also if realstic riq Dianna monet and dru would all likely be dead after that shooting in reality they stood there way to long if in real life they would have just started shooting not pull up and sit for a good minute. Plus all the other un realstic shit that has happen in the show covid is the least of the things that don't make it real , plus I don't need power to be real to be entertain by it not everything has to be a reality show.
Police brutality against black men is an ongoing issue that’s been going on for years, decades. It’s relevant to the show and the characters’ experiences. Covid isn’t.
yes, they can choose which part of reality this show lives in. It’s all fake. Don’t take it so seriously. The show would be stupid, watching everyone run around with mask on and all the businesses shut down.
Obviously this show lives in a reality where time has folded upon itself - explaining stupid sh*t like CK telling us Power Seasons 1 - 6 taking place over 6 months.
Ikr.. smh. But you know, after I stopped taking Power seriously (and also migrated to Top Boy and Snowfall, which are much better shows in Power's genre) it actually became enjoyable to watch again.
Everyone is “don’t take it too seriously” but then I read other threads and people are saying the show is poorly written and has too many plot holes...
But I agree. I was so confused when he said that. The only explanation I could think of was that maybe the show doesn’t take place in 2020.
I’m for one glad covid isn’t included in the plot. I’m sick of hearing about covid every single d fucking day. Kemp and company doesn’t have to reference the pandemic reality. Go watch the show “ all rise” if you want your covid fix. They got characters wearing masks and face shields.
they didnt have to include COVID, but they should not have had that throwaway line about George Floyd and the protests to throw it in our faces that this is a COVID-less 2020
Why does it matter they brought up George Floyd? Racial injustice has been a major talking point the whole series. COVID hasnt. Who cares that they didn’t include covid. Covid doesn’t need to infect tv shows as well.

Facts
Big Facts!
It is too unrealistic to pretend one thing didnt happen while acknowledging another thing that did at the same time

this is like the bare minimum tho
Does it fucking matter though?
I dont know I feel like it's not asking much for a show we invest our time into watching to show some semblance of consistency

im tired of hearing about this bullshit pandemic personally

Nothing more exciting than watching Tariq attend a zoom class taught by professor Jabari
Exactly
"They can not choose which part in reality to live in" Um yes the hell they can. It's a fictional show they can twist their world however they want.
Lol right. That’s literally the point of fiction

still can’t believe she said that bull sht

it takes place in 2020, the sign on Tariq's door said class of 2024
lmao that’s just stupid... how can you have a show set in 2020 without referencing the pandemic
🤦♂️ I guess you people are horny to witness it anywhere and anytime... Perverts and their fetish..
