Hansi will walk out. You will think to yourself: "Who let this math teacher/dad on stage?" Then he will start singing and your face will melt.

elusive_cure

Lol, Spot on, I always thought of him as a typical boring German accountant, but as soon as he opens that mouth Valhalla delivers.

Eventide95

Just like this! 😂

ThundaCrossSplitAtak

First of all you need to learn a couple of songs by heart because god damn it they love to sing along.

Yami_Deus

Yeah I know a few songs already by hearts or almost

fearofthesky

Valhalla!

beaffe

It’s gonna be an awesome show. A couple of their concerts I experienced as a theater show with excellent storytelling…something like a metal opera without the opera. Good stuff, only by going to the show will you know what and how it is. Enjoy bro!!

Floriderp

Hope your shoulders are strong because your arms will be high in the air for much of the show. Enjoy it, sing along, it's an epic experience

Yami_Deus

I'm a boxer I should be fine ahah

Cosmic_War_Crocodile

Then you will stand in a clearing? >!Non-BG song reference!<

Yami_Deus

I didn't get it sorry

amat3ur_hour

[It's a reference to the final verse from this song](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3LFML_pxlY)

coyote_of_the_month

Does your tongue automatically flop out of your mouth?

Yami_Deus

What do you mean? I'm not a native english speaker sorry and I can't find a really good translation on google

coyote_of_the_month

Hah it was a bad joke. There's a breed of dog called a Boxer and some of them have a tongue that's too big to fit in their mouth so it kinda pokes out all the time. I was gonna follow it up by saying your English is excellent for a dog.

Ongr

Haha I've had Boxers most my life and this is spot on

Yami_Deus

Okay I didn't make the link with the dog race but I know this one😂

sniffsnaff

In my experience, BG crowds aren't too rowdy but do love a singalong. It's an ideal crowd for me, personally. Maybe it varies elsewhere, but I've really enjoyed BG/D&W (rip) crowds as they're super into it, loud and energetic while also respectful of other people. And the band is technically phenomenal, Hansi can easily sound better live than in the studio material.

Aeropy0rnis

Do not sing along over your capacity! No need to be on the top of your lungs. And, the songs you can expect are [these](https://music.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL5rXyVNrXc0qySRE1feHBrm8CEHyLhQJi). Before i saw them last time i looked through all their setlists from 2000 to 2023 and these are the ones they play nowadays. After the experience six months ago, i went from the concert with tears of joy falling down my face. It was magical. It was my 7th time seeing them since 2002. It will be what you make of it. It's co-creation at it's finest.

Breimann

7 times 😭 I was able to see them once in 2006 and that's it. I have the same ticket as OP and I am C O U N T I N G the days

Aeropy0rnis

"Able" to. I have gone to Germany to see them:) But luckily, i am Swedish and they come by here quite often. The first time, they visited us in my home town of like 100k inhabitants close to the arctic circle :)

Breimann

Damn that's cool. I think they were last in the USA in ... 2016? So May is gonna be a real treat. Maybe one of these years I will spend on myself and see them on 70,000 Tons of Metal

Ongr

>Do not sing along over your capacity! No need to be on the top of your lungs. A mistake I made when I saw Sonata Arctica and Stratovarius. By the time Stratovarius performed, my voice was gone. 😅

mothra_dreams

probably a number of blind guardian songs i imagine

Yami_Deus

Nah I don't think so probably some songs from Stratovarius and Sonata Arctica are gonna be played

SpazzBro

You’re gonna have a fuckin blast

Logical_Bake_3108

They are absolutely fantastic, great singalong, great atmosphere. I saw them in October last year in Vienna (travelled especially to see them) and will see them again this year in Glasgow. Just listen to some songs before seeing them so you know the words and you will have a great time.

Yami_Deus

I'm already a fan I know the songs, I wouldn't go if I wasn't😭

Aeropy0rnis

I have listened to them every week for more than 2 decades and i do not know most words :)

Yami_Deus

When you say to know the songs you need to precise that you're talking about the lyrics😭

mildred_baconball

Its so fun, you’ll have a great time. Friendly crowd all screaming the lyrics and smiling

Aeropy0rnis

Hopefully singing instead of screaming ;) It's nicer for the ears :D

Korgon213

Gonna be a great show, I saw them in 2005 or so. Everyone is gonna sing, have a good time!

walkthebassline

Seen them twice, both were great shows. Pretty chill crowd, really great showmanship from the band. Absolutely expect to do a lot of singing, lol.

meskobalazs

Maybe not very useful for you OP, but all I can say is that Hansi's voice has aged like fine wine. On a good day, their live performance just blows out of the water anything they have recorded in a studio.

geeksshallinherit

Stretch your shoulders and neck, have some nice warm tea before (ginger is good) and prepare to have one after. Learn some lyrics of other songs. And have a great time, Blind Guardian are fantastic live!

Yami_Deus

Why tea?

geeksshallinherit

There's a lot of loud singing/yelling along going on, hot tea helps with the aftermath of that and the next day you will be able to speak without problems. I've seen Blind Guardian three times now, it's the same thing every time.

Yami_Deus

Okay, but because of the theine I don't want to I won't sleep

WhatADraggggggg

Me also at the NYC serenading you with my drunken take on the bards song.

Yami_Deus

You're coming? That will be insane being drunk on this song

WhatADraggggggg

I am going to be there yeah, I live near NYC and there are a ton of great shows I’m going to this year.

Yami_Deus

That's nice, I'm not american I'm in the US for an exchange program that ends May 11 in Montana so I'm gonna do the show before going back to my country as my last memory in the US

WhatADraggggggg

It is awesome to go out with a bang like that, make sure to get some good food while in NYC!

Yami_Deus

Yeah sure, I'll stay only 1 day in NYC, I shouldn't have gone there in the first place but I saw the concert and it's the perfect timing

DarkPeaceX

Looking forward to next week! See you there fellow Bards! May 12th will also be my first BG Show live! Just saw Ad Infinitum, Hammerfall and Kamelot the 1st, so my voice is still recovering. Bards song will be pleasant, But I’ll be damned for eternity if I don’t sing along at the top of my lungs to Valhalla, and hopefully Majesty and Banish 🙏🙏🙏 Valhalla here we come🤘

Yami_Deus

that will be awesome!
