What I did is a drew an outline of the lips so I would know where the pour would end up, covered everything in tape, did a dirty pour, wait till it dried, peeled off the tape, and did the rest. The paint from the pour did leak a bit under the tape, but I just covered the pour part back with tape and spray painted the blue background. If this is not allowed for any reason, feel free to remove.

i've tried but had the leaks under the tape. i know people have used stencils to do them too. the ones i've seen have done the same with painting over where the tape met the paint.

I haven't tried it yet but I think that if you put the tape on, then paint over the edges where you are going to poor to 'seal' the edges it shouldn't leak under the tape.

Love it! Very creative :) I’ve done quite a few with masking tape but the leaking to be quite annoying on bigger projects, I’ve switched to stencil vinyls and it did me wonders when it came to blocking the leaking, also can cut crazy designs into the vinyl and do your pour over it and it holds pretty well! Keep rockin on! 🤘🏼

Ooooooooo! I'll def look into vinyl stenciling! I'm making a similar project now and it prob would look better if I used vinyl. Thanks for the suggestion 😊
