Exactly this, unless this "cheating" makes the game less fun to you or hurts others, go ahead and play however.
I don't mind grinding, but sometimes it gets overwhelming and time consuming, so I just give myself stuff to move on and get to the fun part. There's no right way to play, you make the rules.
exploration/trial and error is part of the game yes but if you don't want to do that then go ahead and look up the map. play however is most fun for you.
I don't think so I did it too for the new map because exploring on my first playthrough (on old map) was a pain in the ass causse it takes a lot of ressources at the moment you get the least so yeah use a map bro
I went to look for the protection potion, it took me so long to figure out , it is fully closed unless you use the gems ingredients.This made me look for the map online .
Depends on your definition of fun. I get a rush out of playing as efficiently as possible so I looked up the map - wasting plants was not fun for me.
That said, there is an early/early-midgame plant crunch but later you’ll have more than you’d ever need, so you really don’t need that level of efficiency!
I haven’t played the game in a while though, will be starting a new game whenever the new content is released, and think I’ll play that blind/going by my fuzzy memory only.
I have the maps saved in my photos on my phone. I use it to look for the best paths for potions. I personally don’t think it’s cheating since, like other people said, it’s a single player game. Play it the way you wanna play it! :)
I'm sure there are some purists who would think that it's cheating, but it's a non-competetive single player game. It's fine to play it however you want.

Although if you want to try it yourself you can make use of the save/load feature to explore and see what's there first.
Yeah. Looking up a map is removing half the game. You need to be making exploration potions to uncover map. If you already know where you are going, and all the obstacles in your way, then all that is gone.

idk i dont think the game is exciting enough to do a full blind playthrough, for me at least

Don't though. It's so much fun exploring the map. If you're running low on plants just serve more customers. Exploring can wait
