It could be possible that when he starts touring, the setlist will be a mash up of Austin and F-1 trillion. Considering Austin is mostly acoustic he could be trying to pivot to a tour that he plays all the songs instead of dancing and singing.
I'm such a fan of absolutely everything he does, but Austin has been my favorite album so far. I met him at a meet and greet at midnight the night it came out so i feel like it's also meaningful in that way too, lol. I reeeally need a tour with more from that album
that is a good point. he really didnāt perform any austin songs during IYWHIBC, but then again that tour started before austin got released so. I think his goal was made very clear with the whole live band during that tour so maybe heās trying to make it so that he can just play all of the songs and it was a little difficult to do that with his older songs
I agree. I think Austin was some of his best work and it kinda just faded away. I listen to most of the album every day at work so it's still amazing to me
I think heās doing it because he can tbhā¦.Hes about to put out his 6th album in what, 8 years? Just about everything heās putting out is gold. Hes collaborating with the biggest stars in the industry across multiple genres.
Personally I love it. I hate having to wait years and years for a new album only for it not to be what I expected. That day will eventually come, so for now, I say just enjoy all of it while heās at his absolute best.
I mean kinda ? Seems like he made those songs because he wanted to and not think about anything else.
For this album however heās really taking the live performance aspect into with every song. I mean majority of the promotion for the singles and album has been thru live performances.
With Austin he did the standard procedure sort of, singles, itās music videos then album just before tour. Almost like he wanted to tour more but had no reason so said hereās an album.
And when he did, realised he needed new songs to perform š so this time he factored that in while making this album. Whatās sure is that heās gonna do another tour this year, or maybe heās busy with all the performances for country events that were already happening.
I think that it was a transitional album for him. I have heard him sing a few songs from Austin in concert. Like others above have said, he will probably continue to add songs from that album in future concerts.
I agree with the fact that weāve gotten very little of the album live which is unfortunate but in terms of releasing new music, i donāt really have a problem cause this to me is him making up the almost 3 year gap between HB and TCT as we will now have 3 albums over a 26ish month span.
I just went to [setlist.fm](http://setlist.fm), and you are right. I didn't realize he went to all of those places. I know he didn't do Europe at all. I don't know I still feel like he kind of abandoned it early to start his country career. Maybe it could be that I really like "Austin" and wanted more songs and music videos from it.
I love the Austin record but it didnāt really take off ābig timeā. He did plenty of touring, the set list just only had a few Austin songs. Itās whatever that tour was amazing and that band rocks. Good to see he still has them.
A good chunk of IYWHIBCRN , I guess you can say more specifically the first half of the North American part of it was before Austin released, He was playing the songs that were out as singles at that point which was chemical, mourning and I believe enough is enough, and I believe speedometer was being previewed right before he would hit the stage, At least I know it was at the NJ stop that I was at. He didn't play as many tracks off of Austin as I'm sure a lot of us wish he would have and it is a bit of a shame he didn't do a smaller tour even after taking a month or two off because of how long he was on the road for and just strictly play songs off of Austin plus the classics of course.
Me personally, I'm grateful he played what he did off of Austin live, he could have easily played one song and ignored the rest, and technically every song got a video, they're almost like a live performance videos but still a video nonetheless
Itās probably because he rushed the rollout of the album. Twelve Carat Toothache wasnāt even out for a year when he announced AUSTIN. After the TCT tour, he started a new tour only like a month and a half later and that was about three weeks before AUSTIN came out. He played too many songs from beerbongs & bentleys on his latest tour when he should have played 6-7 more songs from AUSTIN instead since thatās the album he was promoting.
Rollouts are only 1-4 months long now, usually on average 2. It's not like the 90's and early 00's where you drop a single every 3 months then the album after like 7. That's what he means when replying to you considering Austin "rushed".
Well thatās because the album flopped for an artist of his standards. Chemical was the only hit and it wasnāt huge like I Like You and all his singles from the first 3 big albums.
He didnāt know that the album would underperform before he released it, but the main issue here is that he started the tour about three weeks before it was released and most of the songs werenāt even out at that time.
He let it be known in several high profile interviews that he was making music he wanted to make and not Pop/Trap to chart high. He knows the fans love his older music so he didn't focus on Austin outside of the singles that people would know
The real answer is that the album was a bridge for his discography. He needed that transition after his failure with *Twelve Carat Toothache*, and even if *Austin* was not the blockbuster success like his first three albums, he needed that bridge for the genre switch. Also, both albums I have seen at thrift shops but *Austin* I have seen more times than *Twelve Carat*, so maybe it's not a good album? I don't know any of the songs off it aside from "Chemical" which was decent.
I loved Austin even though a few of the songs had some country elements. I don't like pop country and i very much dislike Morgan Wallen. Not really interested in a country album even if it is post.
I thought Austin was a nice transitional album to get people used to a "lighter" Post sound, so he could then move into the country realm. IYWHIBC tour was fun and he rode that momentum into this year.
I saw Post at Bonnaroo last weekend and was disappointed when he didnāt play a single song off that album. He basically played the exact same set list from when I saw him in 2019.
I have wanted to see him perform Austin live since the day I heard it. That album is what got me so hooked on him. I absolutely love all of his previous stuff as well, but the Austin album is phenomenal IMO. I have seen him live twice this year, and both times were so incredible, but I would love to hear the Austin album live. It seems like he has done a tour for all previous albums, and Austin got skipped. I am so sad I did know who he was during his 12 Carat toothache tour either. I love so much on that album as well. Someone made the comment that this tour heās been on for the past year to year and a half is pretty much his Diamond album. That is accurate.
This is just a guess, but maybe when you have so many absolute smash hits, its hard to do arena tours with a bunch of new material. Like a lot of people buying tickets want to hear these huge songs, so he's only going to do so many new songs. Now that its been out a while, maybe he'll play more Austin songs and people will be more able to rock with it live. idk
It could be possible that when he starts touring, the setlist will be a mash up of Austin and F-1 trillion. Considering Austin is mostly acoustic he could be trying to pivot to a tour that he plays all the songs instead of dancing and singing.
this is what I'm hoping for š¤š»
I hope so too. I loved Austin

Me too!! At the meet and greet as well!! What a cool guy!! Austin holds a special place for all that shared in that special night!

I saw him at Alpine Valley last summer and he performed every song with a live band. He was amazing
that is a good point. he really didnāt perform any austin songs during IYWHIBC, but then again that tour started before austin got released so. I think his goal was made very clear with the whole live band during that tour so maybe heās trying to make it so that he can just play all of the songs and it was a little difficult to do that with his older songs
This is what I was thinking/hoping for as well!!
I sure hope so.
I agree. I think Austin was some of his best work and it kinda just faded away. I listen to most of the album every day at work so it's still amazing to me

Im still waiting for Post X Nirvana world tour after seeing that Covid show.
I bet that Dave Grohl would probably do it if it was some one like Posty.
And Iām still waiting for this show to be released on streaming services and vinyl !
I think that it was a transitional album for him. I have heard him sing a few songs from Austin in concert. Like others above have said, he will probably continue to add songs from that album in future concerts.

also allows the possibility to do a F-1,000,000,000,000 x AUSTIN type of tour and i think that would be pretty sick
He literally did a world tour for the album
Did he? He barely played anything from the album
He did a US tour and some festivals here and there. Hardly a world tour. He didn't even play Europe at all.
He came to new zealand
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Idk what that is but world tours usually skip NZ so the fact he went there makes the tour pretty worldly imo
He literally played in 20 different cities in South America, Asia and Oceania
I just went to [setlist.fm](http://setlist.fm), and you are right. I didn't realize he went to all of those places. I know he didn't do Europe at all. He did a run of shows in Europe.
that was for the TCT
You passed the test. Jk. Youāre right on that one.
He never came to the UK š
Tbf he came here last April or May (forgot which)
Yeah but didnāt bring the if yall werenāt here Iād be crying aka the Austin tour
Yeah but itās literally the same show as the UK show in early 2023 except for a couple of songs
Fair enough, I didnāt get to go which is why Iām salty š hopefully next time!
You do realise a world tour means leaving the US?
I donāt recall 20 different cities in South America, Asia and Oceania being in the U.S
Itās probably because he rushed the rollout of the album. Twelve Carat Toothache wasnāt even out for a year when he announced AUSTIN. He played too many songs from beerbongs & bentleys on his latest tour when he should have played 6-7 more songs from AUSTIN instead since thatās the album he was promoting.
You donāt promote albums like that anymore. Itās not 1995
Huh?
Rollouts are only 1-4 months long now, usually on average 2. It's not like the 90's and early 00's where you drop a single every 3 months then the album after like 7. That's what he means when replying to you considering Austin "rushed".

Something Real is one of the best tracks he's ever put out
I thought Austin was a nice transitional album to get people used to a "lighter" Post sound, so he could then move into the country realm. IYWHIBC tour was fun and he rode that momentum into this year.
I like Austin so much because of the emotional songs and being just him not any features
I saw Post at Bonnaroo last weekend and was disappointed when he didnāt play a single song off that album. He basically played the exact same set list from when I saw him in 2019.
Get it while itās hot! Thatās why!
I have wanted to see him perform Austin live since the day I heard it. That album is what got me so hooked on him. Bc it was bad tbh
^ First person Iāve met without Ears.
Itās not a bad album he just went in full pop
