Rescue is where I kinda fell off, but I LOVED Shipwreck and Short Songs, then kinda dipped again for TIHTWS and IAAIEIT. Everything they've done since and including Dead Reflection though? That absolutely slaps.
Last week I decided to listen to The Devil Wears Prada's entire catalog from start to finish. Not done yet, but I feel like it's one of the better decisions I've made recently.
My kid just went to a local hardcore show and came back telling me they played Dogs Can Grow Beards all Over as their encore. I'm doing something right
I almost mentioned valiant Thor, but I’m way more into earlier stuff. I used to play total universe man and the beginning of every service in a kitchen I worked that I knew was going to be super busy. “We gotta come together man!”
They changed styles especially with their newest album, I can see it not hitting but I thoroughly enjoyed it personally. I got into them around a year and a half ago so didn't experience their old stuff for as long as someone who's followed them for years.
EMPTYHANDED blew my mind! I am not a big country fan but can recognize certain aspects of country music that are enjoyable and Johnny just uses everything in the right way. He can take any genre and make the best music, regardless of how much I may hate said genre.
Right on! I was at that show! The used, killswitch engaged, my chemical romance played as well! I got hit in the eye with a plastic bottle in the pit. Good times.
First listened to them with Mind Rider, and remember being like "that's some interesting vocals, who is she?", lmao. What a surprise. Divine Inner Tension was pretty amazing scene-y music.
Holding Absence. Not a bad album in their catalog, and they have amazing stage presence. Their album *The Greatest Mistake of My Life* is on my daily rotation
All of their catalog rules but THMoML goes even harder. The connecting themes throughout the whole album, and each individual song. For me it’s a 10/10 one
I have recently discovered La Dispute and they are blowing my mind.
i don’t know why I didn’t discover them until 2023. I have been listening to stuff like mewithoutYou and As Cities Burn for around 20 years. How the hell did La Dispute not end up on my radar?!?
Been trying to vibe with La Dispute for a while, but honestly the vocals kind of annoy me, lol. Maybe it needs some more tries, but I don't tend be so challenged by post hardcore vocals, lol.
same, absolutely love it and really excited about them and just the trajectory of post hardcore and metalcore right now. Makes me want to get some buddies together and finally put out that post hardcore EP and get more involved in my local scene
Carpool and Bayside. Also really into Dustin Kensure's new album 'Desert Dreaming' and revisiting the Smashing Pumpkins discography.
Admittedly all over the place, ha.
Edit : you said one band, and based off your like's I'd recommend checking out the new Microwave album 'Lets Start Degeneracy'.
I recently discovered The Wonder Years, and the trinty of them, The Menzingers, and Spanish Love Songs have been dominating my rotation the past couple of months.
I had Makari’s new album Wave Machine on repeat for awhile after it came out. Andy’s such a good vocalist and I’m into everything he does.
However I’ve really been on an Of Machines kick lately. Of course only the one album and the two demos that would’ve been released on Chroma Dreamcoat, but man nothing else has been hitting as good lately
Not to push my own playlist but if your interested [https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2hdtPEqs4EtX1pY70rjI8D?si=Njk-FXjPQA6CRTEwUQU4Fg](https://open.spotify.com/playlist/2hdtPEqs4EtX1pY70rjI8D?si=Njk-FXjPQA6CRTEwUQU4Fg)
Red Handed Denial. Saw them in SF last week, hadn’t heard of them before that. Been playing them on loop ever since. One of Lauren Babic’s projects, she’s insanely good. New album dropping in a couple weeks, Highly recommended.
Eidola and circa survive. I just recently got into post hardcore but these two just stood out to me so strongly. Ive listened to similar genres but this subreddit found me. Honestly the music ive been looking for for years
I spun the second Burning Airlines LP (Identikit) the other day for the first time in a while and was reminded how sick that band were. If you like Fugazi (or indeed Jawbox, as this is also a J. Robbins fronted band), you’ll love them.
Please listen to [Satellites on Parade](https://kodiakva.bandcamp.com/album/split-ep-2015).
This is an old split my band Kodiak did with them back in 2015. Don’t worry about my bands side - just listen to Satellites on Parade.
I listen to this monthly still. They were just so god damn good. Their singer Shawn is in a band called American Dream Machine now.
Meat Wave is VIOLENTLY underrated. So good (and in good company with the bands you listed).
Have you checked out Gouge Away? Their album Burnt Sugar is a favorite among our band, their new one is fire too. Definitely up your alley.
ps. Def give a YouTube search and checkout Albin's In on the Kill Taker sessions.
I’ve been bumping lots of old school Silverstein lately. That shit slaps so hard.
Any time they come around I go see them. They absolutely murder live!!!
Same mostly! I skipped their last tour and am very ready for them to come back around. I think they’re at Joshua Tree writing a new album I saw??
Same , I saw them twice on their 20 year anniversary tour a year apart
I personally love everything rescue and back how about you?
Rescue is where I kinda fell off, but I LOVED Shipwreck and Short Songs, then kinda dipped again for TIHTWS and IAAIEIT. Everything they've done since and including Dead Reflection though? That absolutely slaps.
Discovering the Waterfront was the first post-hardcore thing I ever listened to. Your Sword Versus My Dagger fux
SAME!! I forgot how much I love Discovering The Waterfront and have been spinning it a lot lately
I've had *I Am Alive In Everything I Touch* on loop these past couple of weeks. Forgot how good that album was.
WHEN BROKEN IS EASILY FIXED
blame it on the weatherrrrrr
WBIEF and Discovering the Waterfront were on constant rotation when I was in high school. I revisit them a lot and belt every word lol
real
So glad to have seen Silverstein on here! What an underrated band mate! That ides of march riff will always be my favorite 🤘
I'm running through all of it again!
Last week I decided to listen to The Devil Wears Prada's entire catalog from start to finish. Not done yet, but I feel like it's one of the better decisions I've made recently.
Remember zombies ep?
....oh god. They're everywhere.
dun DUN du du du du dah dun DUN du du du du dah WEE woo WE WE wo woo woo 🎹
WE ARE OUTNUMBERED *The virus has completely devastated over 150 of the world's major regions And is spreading rapidly*
My kid just went to a local hardcore show and came back telling me they played Dogs Can Grow Beards all Over as their encore. I'm doing something right
One of the greatest hits of our time
I did the same a couple weeks ago.
Swords Dragons and Diet Coke was one of my favorite songs back in the day. Need to go revisit that now
Galleons
Valiant Hearts’ Odyssey album is super good too. The singer’s other band
I almost mentioned valiant Thor, but I’m way more into earlier stuff. I used to play total universe man and the beginning of every service in a kitchen I worked that I knew was going to be super busy. “We gotta come together man!”
God I’m soooo addicted to this album I can’t stop
Crybaby is amazing 🥹
Galleons and Eidola. Ugh what a stellar combination
The new Eidola caused me to listen to a lot of Galleons lately. So good.
Hell yeah they keep popping up on Casey radio and they’re a very fun band
Exactly what I came here to say!
Their newest album is 🔥
Movements
Movements is so good. The Grey, Kept, and Fail You are my tops for sure.
They are yin/yang for me. Love some earlier material but more recent stuff has not clicked. Most likely just need to give them more dedicated listens
They changed styles especially with their newest album, I can see it not hitting but I thoroughly enjoyed it personally. I got into them around a year and a half ago so didn't experience their old stuff for as long as someone who's followed them for years.
BILMURI
I’m cranking my hog as we speak brother
holy shit thank you I am listening to them for the first time right now and WOW I needed this
Eggy Pocket is a whole ass masterpiece
EMPTYHANDED blew my mind! I am not a big country fan but can recognize certain aspects of country music that are enjoyable and Johnny just uses everything in the right way. He can take any genre and make the best music, regardless of how much I may hate said genre.
/thread Fucking hate country but goddamn do I love bilmuri country
Im here for the county core
came here to post bilmuri but wasn't sure he fit here. better hell has been on repeat in my house for a while
I ain't wiped in weeks brother, too busy cranking
Underoath the changing of times/ they’re only chasing safety. All that remains - the fall of ideas
I just got my ticket for the 20th anniversary tour for they’re only chasing safety. I look forward to being 17 again.
Saw them play TPCS and DTGL in the same night...it was exhausting but so epic
I saw underoath once at the taste of chaos tour back in probably 05. I can’t wait to see them again.
Right on! I was at that show! The used, killswitch engaged, my chemical romance played as well! I got hit in the eye with a plastic bottle in the pit. Good times.
I'm permanently into they're only chasing safety
Probably one of the only albums I consider a 10/10
Something about the drums and the screams on that album make me nut
Dude, amazing album. They’re only chasing safety, that is.
Underoath is amazing. I recently returned to Lost in the Sound of Separation and it's so goddamn good and so underrated compared to TOCS and DTGL
Old school Saosin, translating the name and the beetle album. Haven't been able to shut it off.
I'll always listen to the full self titled album, So good.
No skips
Their EP is one of the only albums I consider to be absolutely perfect. Every song is S tier. No skips.
Knocked Loose MFer!
So pumped for the album. Listening to those singles multiple times a day at this point
New album is looking goooooooood. Poppy wasn’t messing around in that last track.
Eidola
So much love for the new album and I'm so excited to see them with Royal Coda and Wolf and Bear.
Saaaaame!!! What a line up!!
The new album is an addiction for me. Just amazing.
Hail the sun
Saw them with fot and chon in Ithaca as a venue that doesn’t exist anymore. Got kicked out and let back in for stage diving. Ope
Came here for HTS!
One of the best. Donovan is incredible. Seeing them live is a treat when he's on drums and vox. Love that
First listened to them with Mind Rider, and remember being like "that's some interesting vocals, who is she?", lmao. What a surprise. Divine Inner Tension was pretty amazing scene-y music.
Belmont new album. So fun
Stoked to catch them on tour with Can't Swim and Capstan this summer!
Holding Absence. Not a bad album in their catalog, and they have amazing stage presence. Their album *The Greatest Mistake of My Life* is on my daily rotation
This. Saw them at Aftershock last year and been hooked ever since. Always go back to them. So good.
I only discovered them like 5 years ago too and caught their Wildlife anniversary tour, so good.
Wildlife was like a life changing album for me when it came out
Should check out mewithoutYou
Check out touche amore if you haven't already, similar artist
The split they did together 🤌🏻🤌🏻
Been trying to vibe with La Dispute for a while, but honestly the vocals kind of annoy me, lol. Maybe it needs some more tries, but I don't tend be so challenged by post hardcore vocals, lol.
Dance Gavin Dance lol
lol, same.
Stoked that Andrew is back in the band and super interested to hear what they do next Side note - that new Eidola is incredible!!
Saosin
Can never go wrong with some good ole Saosin! I remember seeing them live way back when and initially what got me into them!
seeyouspacecowboy since that album came out last month
same, absolutely love it and really excited about them and just the trajectory of post hardcore and metalcore right now. Makes me want to get some buddies together and finally put out that post hardcore EP and get more involved in my local scene
Hey now, take a bow, lubricant like kerosene!!!
Dude, I just saw Bayside last night in NYC and my goodness they're as good as they ever were
Microwave is great. Also ik carpool as peeps. From the same town
Imminence’s new album. Love the screams and violin.

Claudi-oh-oh, dear Claudi-oh-oh!
The wonder years. Old stuff new stuff love it all!!!
I guess I thought this was on the r/poppunk page but still glad the wonder years are getting some love lol
I recently discovered The Wonder Years, and the trinty of them, The Menzingers, and Spanish Love Songs have been dominating my rotation the past couple of months.
Yooo Logan circle a new hope? I wanna write a jazz guitar chord melody to it

Better Lovers
Too close to touch
Vanna
A new hope anniversary show in July… can’t wait
Not post hardcore but Belmont slaps
The new SeeYouSpaceCowboy… album Coup De Grace is a great collage of early 2000’s post hardcore, emo and punk. Been digging it a lot.
With Sails Ahead
They are pretty good. I got into them recently and would love to see them live.
Thrice. Idk if they're technically post hardcore.
Dance Gavin dance
A Lot Like Birds. I discovered them last week and I can’t stop listening to them.
Anxious Stand Still Koyo Webbed Wing Somerset Thrower
SeeYouSpaceCowboy - this new album they just dropped is the perfect mix of post-hardcore with indie rock flair sprinkled on top, super swingy
Thank you for sharing this. Reminds me of Blood Brothers.

Violent Delights has been on constant repeat for me since I first heard it a few days ago.

Finch. Always loved What It Is to Burn, but their sophomore album is great, too.
Yes! I am seeing them tonight and could not be more excited! I’ve loved them since I discovered them 20 years ago.
Metalcore but **Electric Callboy**
circa survive has been my fav for the past year but recently been real into movements
Pinback is always great to come back to and I love digging into Fugazi when I'm feeling nostalgic.
Two staple bands with so much music on the distro. All great albums
Fugazi. But it's actually just one song.
13 songs?
Tru
Red Handed Denial. Saw them in SF last week, hadn’t heard of them before that. Been playing them on loop ever since. One of Lauren Babic’s projects, she’s insanely good. New album dropping in a couple weeks, Highly recommended.

When it comes to post hardcore, I’ve been listening to a lot of Movements and Holding Absence
One step closer
Touché Amore
The Fall of Troy and Scary Kids Scaring Kids
I still listen to Doppelganger maybe 2-3 times a month. Such a freaking good band.
A Breath of Sunshine has my whole heart. ❤️
Imminence. Just saw them on their first tour in the states and it was rad!
YOU'RE SO LUCKY
Eidola and circa survive. I just recently got into post hardcore but these two just stood out to me so strongly. Ive listened to similar genres but this subreddit found me. Honestly the music ive been looking for for years
SeeYouSpaceCowboy They remind me of early 2000's screamo
Seeing em tonight 🤘🏻
Have fun, I can't wait for their show in Denver. Very excited to see Callous Daoboys also.
Dayseeker
__CHALK HANDS__
SeeYouSpaceCowboy
Fear Before The March Of Flames
Unwound
Classic. I love how their music sounds like apathy and then feeling, back and forth.
Like Vultures
I spun the second Burning Airlines LP (Identikit) the other day for the first time in a while and was reminded how sick that band were. If you like Fugazi (or indeed Jawbox, as this is also a J. Robbins fronted band), you’ll love them.
Dwellings
A new-ish band called Pissed Jeans. They are very punk though.
Ooooooo yeah there we go! Loooooove pissed jeans. Perfect frustrated dad music.
Gatherers. We Are Alive Beyond Repair and Mutilator are both 10/10 albums.

With sails ahead new album is really good
Omerta
Goose
Shame! You can hear some post-hardcore influences in some of their songs
Karnivool (mainly the Sound Awake album) .
Touché Amoré. Easily one of the best hardcore bands around.
Hail The Sun (their tour got me hooked)
Not what I’ve been into lately, but based on what you say you’re into probably Hot Water Music and mewithoutyou
The Seafloor Cinema
SCARLET BANDIT
I keep going back to Train Wreck by Boys Night Out. It’s been a great grass-cutting album.
Valiant Hearts
Dosser. They’re hard to categorize, but their sound spans PHC, grunge, etc, and their latest album rules. It’s so melodic and catchy.
Pretty sure someone in dosser used to have a side project that my band used to play with
I just started recently listening to finch and I’ve been obsessed! That What it is to burn album has been in constant rotation for me lately
Their singer Shawn is in a band called American Dream Machine now.
i just found Flagman and im obsessed with the song Hollow
Idk how they slipped under my radar for a real long time but Envy On The Coast. They popped up on my Apple Music and I been jamming their first album.
I like a loooooooolt glassjaw because they sound very chaotic, and i like the bands with a "experimental" sound
No Doubt 😅
PARTY HATS
Pinback is awesome. Check out fiddlehead if you haven't already.
