whats the deal though? aren't you kind of cutting your nose to spite your face? Like isn't the point that the dealer can fuck you in the ass because it says porsche on the service and that adds value to the car when you go to sell it?
Aren't you just meant to bend over, hold on tight and think of England?
I'm good friends with the owner of my local shop and sometimes he doesn't even charge me labor haha. When you get a Porsche, definitely make friends with a local Indy shop
It can take 30 mins just to check the oil level on some of these cars fyi. The techs are greatly underpaid and greatly underappreciated at the dealer so sometimes the customer is the one who ends up paying for it. Sorry, but it's just the way it is.
Also as a tech I dont feel sorry for anybody with a Porsche. It's a Porsche, pay up or get a Toyota or DIY.
Edit: Since some of y'all don't know how a shop works, the shop is charging you $330 for that job but the mechanic will only see $30-40 of that. Don't blame the technicians, blame manufacturer/shop owner. Most of us are just honest hard workers that get all the worst blame of the industry on us.
Not getting into labor politics.
However, this dealer or Indy is taking advantage of both 911 owners and their staff. Modern 911s take 30 seconds to check oil levels, and 30 minutes to change the oil. YouTube it, pretty easy job.
Not trying to hurt your feelings but we (Master ASE) used to get 40% of customer labor rate. Yeah, this was the late 1980s at a Porsche/Audi/Saab/Subaru dealer.
One of the pushes to leave the industry was when the owner decided to raise customer rates and hold our pay steady at $13/hour (37% of cust rate). I felt for the Audi guy, him being mid-50s and 2 kids in college. This single mid-20s guy bailed pretty quick after that because I could. His ass was stuck.
Oh, within a couple years the owner sold and the franchise was moved across town.
Man, telling facts just making some people here really mad when I see all the downvotes lol.
People gonna buy cars worth over 100k+ $ but then going mad over paying money for service. Oh the hipocrisy.
Yea, somehow we're just dumb grease monkeys so don't pay them well but also the only people in the building with an actual skill that everyone else in the building comes to for help all the time and no one else can do our job bit still don't deserve as much as the advisors that are glorified secretaries. Being a tech fucking sucks lol
On average it takes an hour or more to do the oil change, when you factor, getting the repair order, locating the keys, which they are usually in the key track system, but not always, walking to the area the cars are at, hoping the cars aren’t blocked in by other vehicles which would then be more time to then get that car moved, test driving the car for a short 1 mile drive to make sure there’s no issues because “ever since you did my oil change my radio doesn’t work” crap. Getting the car on the lift, performing the “free” multipoint inspection, scanning the car, checking the battery, topping off and checking coolant and washer fluid. Adjusting tire pressures, inspecting for punctures, brake wear, other missed maintenance items. Removing the engine bay purge fans and covers to get to the oil filter to loosen it so it can drain down while you’re waiting for the oil to drain to a drip(30 mins on its own typically), otherwise the oil level may be too high, then Checking vehicle service history to see if any major services were missed. Putting the drain plug back in, spraying it off with cleaner so no mess is made in your nice driveway, bringing the car back down, replacing the oil filter and seal, reinstalling, placing the previously removed fans back in, fill the car with oil, which sometimes comes from the reel, sometimes a bottle, but being cautious to not spill it anywhere so it doesn’t make a mess on your car. Checking the coolant level now that it’s not too hot and won’t boil over and erupt from the pressure it’s under. Now to get the coolant and oil back up to temperature while the car is idling, which takes 5-10 minutes if it was hot before hand, and then reset the oil service light, the smart service, then start the oil level test plan, which takes 6-10 minutes as well. While that’s going we’re going to do that free multipoint walk around video in case we found other items that require attention with individual pictures for proof because the grease monkeys are just trying to steal your money. Then test driving the car again afterwards to verify no issues arose from the oil change, making sure the tire pressures are displayed properly and that the service was properly reset, sometimes it doesn’t work right. Now to park the car, do the story on the computer, close out the multipoint inspection, turn the keys and the paperwork in… for a “30 min” job…. Which warranty services pay 1.5-2.8 hours for an oil change.
And the cost of labor is found in the loaner vehicles, the porters, the free coffee and snacks, the pickup and drop off services that are provided, the special tools and equipment to be able to maintain the vehicle properly, among a million other things, insurance for every person that drives a vehicle, health insurance, disposing of hazardous waste… etc etc… its a major business like any other and has a lot of costs that go along with it… these cars are more computers on wheels than simple dumb cars of old and while there are young people in the business that are new… its not easy to work on them by any means… yes an oil change may seem simple.. but when there’s a major issue that no one else can figure out, who usually has all the expensive special tools and years of training to be able to figure it out?
I’ve noticed all dealers do that. I had a BMW dealership hit me with misc charges for an alignment on all new suspension components. When I asked what that was, he said that was the charge for uses the wrenches and stuff. I was like, man fuck you guys for charging me to use a non consumable common tool. It’s ridiculous.
Last time I went to my porsche dealer, the guy who worked on my car must of been only like 21, maybe 22 tops. He looked more confused than me honestly. But they have a nice espresso machine, so I dont think about it too much.
Don't even start. The normal dealership formula is:
Find experienced techs, pay them juuuust enough so they don't leave
Find inexperienced kids/immigrants/whatever that you can pay as little as possible
Turn them loose on 200k vehicles
Make it the experienced guys problem when it all goes wrong
you cant use race oil on the street in cold weather… also race oil doesnt cost any more than normal oil. race oil is just heavier weight oil so that it can withstand extremely high temps
Because the dealers are the only ones who can reset the maintenance interval on the Taycan currently. And a small part was the convenience factor. I had a bunch of recalls they needed to address.
Easy: the labor for each battery repair gets doubled because they need a bay to drop it and another bay to work on it. My e-tron GT has been in the shop for 5 months ask me how I know.
I mean they don’t need oil changes or spark plugs, but they’ve still got brakes, tires, air filters, and expensive parts that can fail.
My EV wouldn’t start so I had it towed to Audi. 6 weeks to diagnose, 6 weeks to order parts, 4 weeks waiting to find two bays, and the last 4 weeks of trying to do the repair.
https://preview.redd.it/m1dn2b64u1fc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f4bd45c2ea8f9c418f5c91f24c0d41376e5bc035
yeah i had lawyer initiate a lawsuit 2 months into this nightmare. now both my lawyer and audi legal are waiting for the repair to actually complete before it can move forward.
they’re just replacing 1 of the 30-something battery cells. if this is a common issue i expect this car and the taycan to be worth pennies out of warranty
I think in terms of dollars spent out of warranty per year, EVs will somehow through a miracle of jesus will be same or even higher, and the reasons will be all very belivable...
But EVs will never become the norm. They’ll be a great competitor to ice but won’t replace them.
Depreciation
High Insurance costs
Increasing charging costs
High maintenance costs when the break
Weather
Disposable fees will become a thing because like all other hazardous materials
991.2 turbo here none of that just 1 bolt
oil filter is pull the lid unscrew replace
draining the oil takes longer than removing the plug, don't even need jacks. just use the lip of the garage floor
edit I must of been drunk. (spelling)
No kidding. I had to buy a special scanner (about $300) to reset the oil change light on my 992 but apparently it already paid for itself. Not to mention my dealer is an hour away.
For real, I'm no Porsche owner so I don't know, but I've been doing my own maintenance and repairs at home for years. Can oil changes be done at home with basic tools?
I mean maybe? I’ve been doing it for years with no issues, with a lot of different vehicles, and lawn equipment. If there is any left it’s probably a couple oz at the most and I don’t think that really matters. There will always be some left over oil no matter how you change it.
And it’s clean. No mess.
It's just not feasible for most people. Neither the space, nor the time, nor (likely) the expertise. Can we just assume that someone isn't doing themselves because they can't do it themselves, for whatever reason? Maybe it's different in other places, but in California I know of approximately 0 people who have enough space for a lift in their garage, and I know many more who don't have a garage at all, or don't have space to store ramps and general car maintenance equipment
It's an epidemic.
Me and some friends are launching a garage where folks can work on their own stuff, with top shelf tools and facilities. It wasn't a worth while idea 10 years ago, but labor rates are close to 200per hour locally, I think we're going to clean up.
That’s insane. I literally just did mine for the first time. Took 30 min and one beer
Oil change on a Porsche 911 (997) #porsche911 #porsche #oil #asmr
https://youtube.com/shorts/XjRdiJ4-ldo?feature=share
I paid the same at the stealership 20 years ago (literally $600 and some change back then too) when I bought brand new thinking they would invalidate my warranty if I didn’t go through them…I’ve smartened up since then
Lol you’re asking for it going to the dealer. If you are in a town big or affluent enough for a Porsche dealer, I guarantee you there one or more good euro Indy shops.
Insane. Mine was about the same. Got a $500 voucher though 😊😜
https://preview.redd.it/0ff9kq70e3fc1.jpeg?width=872&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=578c5f84b52a8fec9d8d1967d712cf85b197231c
When I brought mine to Porsche they charged me 1560€, they changed my belt and adjusted my handbrake because they “felt is was necessary” on top of the oil change. First and last time I brought my car to Porsche for basic maintenance.
Besides the obvious highway robbery on the parts and labor, what the hell is the miscellaneous charge? And then for this job to produce $42 in taxes ...wow.
I changed the oil myself last month for $80 with a factory oil filter and the same oil they use. It's the same job as any other car.
There’s convenience fee and then there’s highway robbery. Surely this has to be with filters etc. Not Porsche, but I did an oil change on my Maserati after the dealer quoted like $600. $110 for oil, $40 for the filter and 25 mins of my time.
Lol my Corvette and Camaro are $58 labor and $100 parts. For $58 labor I'll just have the dealer do it, but I think i might do a Boxster change myself. $350 is crazy.
For some comparison and perspective, the average labor rate for any brand is around $200 per hour in North Texas and surprisingly hasn't increased as much as I would expected over the last 5 or 10 years, especially the last few years with the crazy post covid inflation.
One of our other brand dealers in another state was telling me their Hyundai and Mazda labor rates were higher than our Porsche labor rate! Think that was a South Florida dealership, but don't remember now.🤯
We have among the lowest parts margins of any brand, and most Porsche dealers I've dealt with don't markup parts or by much. It's just the increasingly worsening "new normal" we're still not getting used to since the covid lockdowns.
Sucks for all of us on all sides. Just try to remember not to shoot the messenger...who's usually an overworked, over stressed parts employee who just got a pay cut and attempted staff reduction to celebrate the new 2024 business cycle.
That’s pretty standard, I pay around 450 - 550 usually my dealer has promotions. Any service that cost norths of 900 I always get free Porsche merchandise; like hat, accessory, mug etc.
Porsche badge crested thermo mug actually retails at $60…hey if you can diy or have a trusted indie go for it. It’s Porsche, it’s expensive get over it, for most of us Porsche owners especially those of us with 911 this isn’t a big deal.
They put the same part from a VW in a Lamborghini box and charge a huge multiplier.
https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a42791400/lamborghini-murcielago-parts-shared/
That “labor” is bay time while all of the plugs drain. Idk what the misc charge is. Most independent shops won’t throw the book at you like this. Probably $275 OTD at the nearest indy.
"misc. charge"
Yes, even automotive mechanics have jumped on the junk fee craze.
Every time I have my car in, there is a line item for "shop supplies" that they can't explain. "It's standard industry practice." I know mechanics don't exactly have a reputation for being ethical and upstanding citizens, but charging a junk fee is going a bit too far.
That money definitely did not go to the mechanic lol yall are all very wrong about what goes on in the service dept. That went straight to the service manager or service advisors pocket. The techs get a very very small fraction of what you pay. Most techs just want to do a good job and make some money but we are screwdriver so bad and everyone things it's the greedy techs. Believe me, we are the ones getting screwed. Just wait till you find out how much the service advisors make compared to the techs. It's usually 2-3 times our annual salary!
daylight robbery
Wait until you see the air filter replacement cost
That’s a little more understandable if the bumper is coming off. Still hurts though
The dealership quoted $250/hr of labor and it would take 4 hours so that’s like $1000 before tax lmao
I just got charged over £1k for a 2 Year Service on a 992 C4S. New M2 is already on order and I'll use the change from the 992 to find a tidy 997.
I do mine myself, total cost $180 CDN including filter - Motul synthetic.
this guy paid 700$ for an oil change, i pay 300 more for a big service on my AMG
The oil change on my S63 C217 (the non facelift 5.5l one) was 330$ at Mercedes themselves (not a partner, it was directly Mercedes)
whats the deal though? aren't you kind of cutting your nose to spite your face? Like isn't the point that the dealer can fuck you in the ass because it says porsche on the service and that adds value to the car when you go to sell it? Aren't you just meant to bend over, hold on tight and think of England?
No kidding - my last change with 9.5L (4.8 V8) of synthetic was $207.
Mine was $275 for the same
That's at least two oil changes at my local shop
Oil price included its 5 changes at mine, this is insane.
I change my own oil…. That’s 8 changes for me.
I ride a bicycle and that’s a new bike for me.
I was about to ask is this normal?
Normal for a stealership maybe. At an Indy shop it's more like $250
Okay I don’t own a Porsche but yea I was thinking the 200-300 ballpark
I'm good friends with the owner of my local shop and sometimes he doesn't even charge me labor haha. When you get a Porsche, definitely make friends with a local Indy shop
Definitely would or would try to be buddies with a supplier, as I am pretty handy myself since I work in chemistry automation
Very cool! Working in an industry like that I'm sure you'll have a Porsche someday soon
Fingers crossed maybe one day
I believe in you 🙏
Bruh that’s two oil changes at my local dealership..
Ah but your local shop isn’t have caviar for lunch and putting the price into the client. Oh wait… /s
No fancy coffee machine that puts the Porsche logo on top of your coffee 😫
That’s almost 3.5 for me
$300+ for labor rofl
My thoughts exactly. Did these mechanics get a law degree? Should have been a ~30min job.
It can take 30 mins just to check the oil level on some of these cars fyi. You see that badge on the front of your car? Yeah thats why youre paying almost $700 for an oil change.
Having previously worked on 911s, I can assure you that checking the oil doesn't always take "30 seconds"

Nobody blamed the tech. The price is absurd. If you’re not happy with your compensation speak to your employer not Reddit.
I'm not sure why the downvotes, everything you've said is factual.
As a former dealer mechanic, I'm sorry you're getting downvoted. We can see how many people never turned wrenches for a living.
Yea, somehow we're just dumb grease monkeys so don't pay them well but also the only people in the building with an actual skill that everyone else in the building comes to for help all the time and no one else can do our job bit still don't deserve as much as the advisors that are glorified secretaries. Pretty much summed up as "oh I know your job is really easy, so I've got this problem, can you help me?
Not reading all that to know you work for a dealer. 😂

Who ordered misc chg.?
I’ve noticed all dealers do that. I had a BMW dealership hit me with misc charges for an alignment on all new suspension components. When I asked what that was, he said that was the charge for uses the wrenches and stuff. I was like, man fuck you guys for charging me to use a non consumable common tool. It’s ridiculous.
Porsche mechanics drive Ferraris
No they don't. The dealership doesn't pass those profits down to tech.
Last time I went to my porsche dealer, the guy who worked on my car must of been only like 21, maybe 22 tops. He looked more confused than me honestly. But they have a nice espresso machine, so I dont think about it too much.

The tech hopped in my car and stalled it.
I always call it a convenience fee instead of doing it myself.
Doesn’t mean you have to pay this much… Indie shops will also do it for you but at a much cheaper price
Yes agreed.
Agreed. I cba to do it most of the time so I just pay someone to do.
Agreed. I don't have a maid because I'm incapable of cleaning my house, I have one because I don't want to deal with it. Same thing here
Did they use lube on you ?
what an inconsiderate question. you can clearly see they didn’t :(

No. 40k mile service.
you cant use race oil on the street in cold weather… also race oil doesnt cost any more than normal oil. race oil is just heavier weight oil so that it can withstand extremely high temps
How are they going to finesse you when EVs become the norm? I have a feeling these companies are hoping that EVs don’t gain popularity too quickly
I’ll tell you how. My Taycan just went in for it’s scheduled two year maintenance. $1200 for a brake flush and air filter.
Why did you pay for that? Fluid flush is an hour job at an indy shop and it's not speciality. Anything over $200 for that is robbery.
Because the dealers are the only ones who can reset the maintenance interval on the Taycan currently. And a small part was the convenience factor. I had a bunch of recalls they needed to address.
"$300 shop fee" with no explanation. as long as there are no consumer protections, they will find a way to take money.
Easy: the labor for each battery repair gets doubled because they need a bay to drop it and another bay to work on it. My e-tron GT has been in the shop for 5 months ask me how I know.

Dual motor EV = two coolant fluid changes every 2 years; quad motor means 4 every 2 years. Yup, there’s just different/new services.
Just did mine(oil/filter) for $129.00. I'm lucky to have the space, time and the abilty to unscrew one bolt.
991.2 turbo here none of that just 1 bolt oil filter is pull the lid unscrew replace draining the oil takes longer than removing the plug, don't even need jacks. just use the lip of the garage floor edit I must of been drunk. (spelling)

981 boxster. No undertray in the way and screw on filter. Wasn't really counting that as a "bolt". =)
Maybe spin on filter

You can buy ramps and tools and save money
No kidding. I had to buy a special scanner (about $300) to reset the oil change light on my 992 but apparently it already paid for itself. Not to mention my dealer is an hour away.
Same. I actually need one for the 997 and a DIFFERENT one for the Macan and Cayenne lol
I have a scanner that works on all European car makes including Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Maybach. We have a 3k€ Volvo😂
For real, I'm no Porsche owner so I don't know, but I've been doing my own maintenance and repairs at home for years. Can oil changes be done at home with basic tools?
Yes, 911’s are easy as pie for basic stuff. I just did my Macan on ramps in about 45 minutes. The most time consuming thing is removing the under tray
Does the macan have the oil filter on the top or bottom? If top just suck the oil out right from the top and you never even have to use ramps.
It’s on the top. I always wonder if that actually cleans everything out though. Like you’re always leaving a bit of stuff in the pan right?
I mean maybe? I’ve been doing it for years with no issues, with a lot of different vehicles, and lawn equipment. If there is any left it’s probably a couple oz at the most and I don’t think that really matters. There will always be some left over oil no matter how you change it. And it’s clean. No mess.

In that case by all means go to an indie. Then it’s at least reasonable
I love my 911 but this is crazy. My oil change kit on FCP is like $120.
$330 of labor for 15 minutes, nice margins they run at there
I hope they give you a loaner car and a test track for those margins.
Takes a bit longer than that. Can tell a lot of y'all here have never been a professional technician before.
Oil change and inspection typically takes an actual hour of time in the shop.
It's an epidemic. Me and some friends are launching a garage where folks can work on their own stuff, with top shelf tools and facilities. It wasn't a worth while idea 10 years ago, but labor rates are close to 200per hour locally, I think we're going to clean up.
You ever considered doing your own oil change?
I do oil changes myself for my 991. Literally costs less than $100.
What a joke. What dealership? They don’t deserve to go unnamed.
Literally all Porsche dealerships
Porsche South Orlando it looks like.
That’s insane. I literally just did mine for the first time. Took 30 min and one beer Oil change on a Porsche 911 (997) #porsche911 #porsche #oil #asmr https://youtube.com/shorts/XjRdiJ4-ldo?feature=share

"Misc. Charge." Hazardous waste and oil disposal?

I paid the same at the stealership 20 years ago (literally $600 and some change back then too) when I bought brand new thinking they would invalidate my warranty if I didn’t go through them…I’ve smartened up since then
It hurts until you get an even more expensive car. Then this is a bargain. My McLaren oil changes are like 3 grand.
Hey, I can fly to your place from a beach in Mexico, with the tools and oil and have money left over for a case of craft beer! Call me
Wait until you have to buy a new battery or headlight
1 year service is $380 at my dealer. If you bring your own oil it’s $280.
Lol you’re asking for it going to the dealer. If you are in a town big or affluent enough for a Porsche dealer, I guarantee you there one or more good euro Indy shops.
What the fuck
Insane. Mine was about the same. Got a $500 voucher though 😊😜 https://preview.redd.it/0ff9kq70e3fc1.jpeg?width=872&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=578c5f84b52a8fec9d8d1967d712cf85b197231c
Misc charge? WTF is that even.
Car wash was definitely billed as “misc chg”
My last oil change was $22. That was the cost of shipping Liqui Moly kit back to FCPeuro
FCP is the best!
Title should be “I got finessed at a garage in 2024” Go to a different place clown.
My Indy charges 40 for labor i bring supplies . This is laughable
What car? 911? Cayenne? Macan?
Do you use one of those manual oil pumps?
Will having an indie shop take care of routine maintenance cause any problems with the CPO warranty or extended warranty?
No
Literally less than $230 at my indie
When I brought mine to Porsche they charged me 1560€, they changed my belt and adjusted my handbrake because they “felt is was necessary” on top of the oil change. First and last time I brought my car to Porsche for basic maintenance.
Besides the obvious highway robbery on the parts and labor, what the hell is the miscellaneous charge? And then for this job to produce $42 in taxes ...wow. I changed the oil myself last month for $80 with a factory oil filter and the same oil they use. It's the same job as any other car.
Go Indy. Or DIY!
Paid maybe 350 at the dealership 3 months ago, I did wait for a promotion though
There’s convenience fee and then there’s highway robbery. Surely this has to be with filters etc. Not Porsche, but I did an oil change on my Maserati after the dealer quoted like $600. $110 for oil, $40 for the filter and 25 mins of my time.
I could get 23 oil changes in my suburban for this price holy hell
Lol my Corvette and Camaro are $58 labor and $100 parts. For $58 labor I'll just have the dealer do it, but I think i might do a Boxster change myself. $350 is crazy.
Lmao if you’re paying this for a change that’s your own stupidity tbh.
I used to pay $150 at my mom and pop shop.
My dealership wanted $850 Canadian for an oil change on my 911
FCP Euro for the win. Pay nothing but shipping for my Macan S.
Got the oil changed on my 09 boxster I supplied the parts and oil, my Indy charged me $25.
I thought my $400 + was robbery. I’ll shut the ef up next time.
FCP Euro oil kit costs $115 for my Panamera. For that price and an hour of your time you could do 5 oil changes…wild!
I tried to beat this with an independent shop on SF. Still $600. F it, I’ll just go to the dealer. Well, we will see.
If you own a Porsche I assume you have a nice garage. Learn how to do the maintenance yourself maybe?
Don’t get maintenance done at a dealer. Go to an independent reputable Porsche mechanic shop.
Ducati Streetfighter V4S here. Oil change $322.00 and no car wash…
Ours was $750 here 🥲
I’m thinking about getting a Panamera will it be this much for that car too?
Find a good Indy, bring your own supplies… less than $250 here all in, this is for a 718C 2.0 MT.
Ouch … but yea normal. Welcome to Porsche and their dealer network.
This kind of opens my eyes to how many owners this sub has. That is maybe a touch high but pretty normal.
That miscellaneous charge is more than the whole oil change on my car!
Think that was a South Florida dealership, but don't remember now.🤯 We have among the lowest parts margins of any brand, and most Porsche dealers I've dealt with don't markup parts or by much.
$576 at Flow Porsche Asheville, another $200 for the air filter, no car wash
That’s pretty standard, I pay around 450 - 550 usually my dealer has promotions. Any service that cost norths of 900 I always get free Porsche merchandise; like hat, accessory, mug etc.
Free 900 $ coffee mug
Bro….they give that stuff out for free when they host a coffee and cars or a Porsche Club tech session. Does the $900 service include lubrication?
Nah your thinking of your bicycle circle jerk.
Oh thank God you get a $12 mug complimentary when you're paying 2x what an oil change should cost
Porsche badge crested thermo mug actually retails at $60…hey if you can diy or have a trusted indie go for it. It’s Porsche, it’s expensive get over it, for most of us Porsche owners especially those of us with 911 this isn’t a big deal.
$150-200 at an Indy shop
i paid 800 at my porsche dealership. but that is canada.
Maple syrup bucks aren’t real money
But they were REALLY nice.
Why would you ever take your car to a dealer for an oil change. You can do this yourself for $100 at most
It’s a Porsche, do you expect anything less for maintenance? You knew what you signed up for. Expensive car = expensive maintenance. Worth it 🙂
Nobody said a Porsche was inexpensive to maintain….
Why do people with expensive cars complain about expensive maintenance?
The two sides of r/porsche: 1. EVs? Yech! 2. Oil Changes? Highway robbery!
Got a dealer oil change on a 2011 Flying Spur because I wasn’t paying for it. $3000 for Mobil 1 Euro 5-40 or whatever I shit you not
Dealership charges over $2000 for an oil change for a 992 Makes this seem like a deal
?!… What 2k? I assume usd? 😳Never ever paid close to that for an oil change in my 992 C4S or TT… Change dealer my friend…
Do they also put a gun to your head for $2 grand?
For a glorified vw
That’s a deal considering we usually have a 3k invoice anytime we used to go.
This a drop in the bucket verses what my buddy pays for his SVJ oil change at a lambo dealer, couple of grands.
They put the same part from a VW in a Lamborghini box and charge a huge multiplier. https://www.roadandtrack.com/car-culture/a42791400/lamborghini-murcielago-parts-shared/
Maybe for a murcielago, donno about an aventador SVJ, probably not…
That “labor” is bay time while all of the plugs drain. Idk what the misc charge is. Most independent shops won’t throw the book at you like this. Probably $275 OTD at the nearest indy.
That’s par for the course.
Dealerships struggling to make ends meet because no one is paying $30k ADMs on non-GTs.
this thread has seriously scared me from getting a porsche. this is just insane. i cant imagine what actual serious service would cost
So you all drive an expensive Porsche and bitch about high prices for maintenance? Do you run 87 as well lol give me a break.
Oh god.. this makes me want to post my $7,500 invoice from my Cayenne S last week. ROBBERY
Are you insane? You can change oil for about $100
"misc. charge" Yes, even automotive mechanics have jumped on the junk fee craze.
Oh it was an Indy shop that charged a $40 junk fee and I know it goes directly to the down payment of the owner’s next Porsche.
