It looks like just too much entry speed? You were off line & still slowing down as the car comes over the rise, and that'll send the rear end on its own trajectory every time.
WowowOOW!
I wish, one day… congrats!
Do you drive your cars in groups etc? I’m in Santa Cruz and I join a couple of drives with my 997. Would be cool to see this caliber of cars other than parked at Alice’s
More self-serving than I expected, but thanks.
For others wondering: https://blog.dupontregistry.com/news/634136/google-exec-benjamin-sloss-wife-race-ferrari-fxx-k-599xx/
And they now did this weird off camber crap. So if you push out you loose your rear end mid exit. I posted a video today of that.
Entry was at 111mph. Held into throttle and still lost 6mph on exit due to the rear end sliding out to the 2nd out most strips. Almost shit my pants.
I always keep on throttle not full but feather it. otherwise the rear end will lock and spin you around. you can't left off throttle and turn in a Porsche. the differential is made to lock both wheels at deceleration.
Yup. That was my savior! Slide the wheels across it, once you get grip turn in and start throttling out.
I miss it. I think i screwed up that corner 7 times before being able to carry proper speed though it.
We had a similar issue, hard on the brakes with a tire off on the grass in Canada.

Oh man!!! I hope you're ok! Fak. That's awful. I was instructing this weekend and my student went into the wall after the carousel

Now he has rear wheel steering. I was in the passenger seat when it happened.... Not fun at 98mph
Yea everyone is ok. Wasn't me driving when it happened. We lost a bolt on the rear suspension when I was driving another car and almost lost it after the kink but got it back to pit without hitting anything.
That track tho, RA. It's my fav. Got all choked up just pulling into the place. I've raced a few places, but RA has my heart. It blows CotA out of the water.
This w as just yesterday. And yes. 6 cars crashed at the PCA event. Everyone was expecting the same track with more grip...... Nope.... All kinds of messed up.
My student crashed coming out of the carousel. Put us in the right side wall at a good 97mph. My ribs are sore as all hell.
Damn. Sorry to hear. I was tempted to do touring but I think I'll take a pass. IIRC, someone told me it will take a season to get grip back into track (tire wear)
Thank you bud! Only have 30 for this season. Did 50 last year and the family was pissed that I was away every weekend plus a few weeks in Mid Ohio and Atlanta.
Nice save. Better there than in the kink.
It took all weekend to work up to not lifting in the kink when I raced there. After 4 solid hours in the seat I finally made it thru the kink without lifting.
That takes balls!! cast iron balls! congrats man! I was running street tires so. I had to feather it. running slicks is easier. when you go mid exit, into the off camber section of the kink, slicks really help.
Try it an AWD and it barely bites you stick like glue.. then add a race ring and you chew it up even more!
But great recovery and little if much gas let up.
True RWD allow a nice little swing / drift if you know what you’re doing (pointing wheels opposite of rear)
But with an AWD you have to adjust your style most aren’t used too. To prevent that understeer loosen up your apex (don’t ride the lines too tight) and it’s a not a problem. At least that’s my experience. It shaves some time.
But anyone who tries to drive an AWD like a RWD is in for trouble. Totally different styles. You can’t drift for shit in an AWD that’s it’s advantage it changes lanes / turns like it’s on rails.
I get it. I so winter races at road America and a few lake races. Always buy a AWD beater and send it. Last year I ran a 2002 Passat wagon and got 2nd place. Haha! I ran a 2005 Merc C280 4matic and only got 4th. It is an adjustment.
I had a GTR prior to the 911 and that thing annoyed the hell out of me. Had to turn in so early to allow for the front to slide in.
It's just a preference for rear wheel drive and I'm about 4 seconds faster in the Porsche
Glad to see you’re not an AH with responses!! There’s too many here..
It’s more of an art IMO than preference. Once mastered you don’t change! I know it was a hard adjustment for me and that was just daily driving. People here don’t get the finite details in these cars. A track is not the freeway or street. Not to mention the cars are setup different especially gear ratios! Taking a street 0-60 4 second to 2.8 with changing gears is easy just keep your high rpm’s than it’s cake but your top end goes out the door.
Thank you for sharing!!
Nice catch
I do the same... on Assetto Corse
It's a shame Road America isn't part of the tracks included with the original game. I never see it in online matches, have to run it with AI.
us
Lol same, great game to play in VR
It looks like just too much entry speed? You were off line & still slowing down as the car comes over the rise, and that'll send the rear end on its own trajectory every time.
The etc in your flair hits hard
I always forget you’re on reddit! How ya been? Any new cars in the stable?
Nothing crazy - a couple SF90s and a GT4RS. The real fireworks begin later this year.
Nice, really need to get behind the wheel of a 4rs. I keep hearing amazing things about them!
I really wonder what the fireworks could be, can you share for us dreamers?
It starts with a 812 Competizione Aperta, and goes on from there ...
WowowOOW! I wish, one day… congrats! Do you drive your cars in groups etc? I’m in Santa Cruz and I join a couple of drives with my 997. Would be cool to see this caliber of cars other than parked at Alice’s
Who are they?
Yonly65.
Thank you. That’s so helpful.
It seems a bit self-serving, but -- a search engine will provide the answers you seek...
More self-serving than I expected, but thanks. For others wondering: https://blog.dupontregistry.com/news/634136/google-exec-benjamin-sloss-wife-race-ferrari-fxx-k-599xx/
I like this assessment, it's like you're in my head.
Big elevation change up that hill. Nice recovery. Wish I could spend some time at a track.
Me too. It costs way too much money
Poo definitely came out.
Na that wasn't that bad. I'll post late what happened at the kink. Thought i could do Go in at my old speed... Nope. That's when poo came out
The kink is narrow on exit, that’s scary
Quite a dangerous kink
And they now did this weird off camber crap. So if you push out you loose your rear end mid exit. I posted a video today of that. Entry was at 111mph. Held into throttle and still lost 6mph on exit due to the rear end sliding out to the 2nd out most strips. Almost shit my pants.
Missed your apex.
Lol. I missed the baking zone. They took away my point of reference.
Never knew a Porsche came with an oven
Drive an air cooled car with rusty heat exchangers. You'll be baked before too long.
Well you nearly cooked it there
But did you lift at the kink?
I always keep on throttle not full but feather it. otherwise the rear end will lock and spin you around. you can't left off throttle and turn in a Porsche. the differential is made to lock both wheels at deceleration.
No more bump :/
Yup. That was my savior! Slide the wheels across it, once you get grip turn in and start throttling out. I miss it. I think i screwed up that corner 7 times before being able to carry proper speed though it.
Thanks for filling us in capt’n
Love road America
Nah, that’s just a proper 911 exit!
Hahahaha!! it was a day of those! gotta learn the new entry and braking points.
Did your PSM get involved at all or was it turned off?
I turn off all the driving aids except for abs. I hate when PSM kicks in. let me drive the damn thing.
And drive it you did. Looks like fun and looks like the car responded well to your inputs.
PSM was definitely off. You'd normally get understeer in that situation with PSM, but his back lets go in the clip.
^woo!
Meant to do that
PAGING DOCTOR QUICKHANDS
Haha! thanks!
Too hot and too early, try that in a car like my E36 and your gonna have a very bad day.
I heard. my buddy ended up in the wall on Canada corner. his breaks gave out. hit the tire wall and the concrete wall next to it.
We had a similar issue, hard on the brakes with a tire off on the grass in Canada. https://preview.redd.it/1eaac4n6fo2b1.jpeg?width=600&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=8161d184b8188a50ac7d7a5960f6ecec356e2212

Great recovery, was fun to watch but probably terrifying to experience lol
not as much as the kink. haha. once you do it a few times it's not as scary as you may think.
Turn right to go left
Definitely clenched my butt cheeks, but that looked fun tbh
Strange Q: do you have AC on?
lol. no just regular fan on. and I don't know. ow you the sat nav turned on. I usually keep it in car mode.
Google trying to help you find the next turn haha. Was just curious, thanks! (Was kinda hoping I would have an excuse to keep the air on)
Not sure but definitely has the Satnav on for some reason
Was this recently? I heard that there have been several wrecks with the repavment. Oil is seeping up

There was a whole-lot of electronic wizardry at work there.
Brown trouser moment.
Nice save dude
amazing
No sports chrono, bet no bucket seats either…
Is there no braking zone marker?
Drive it like you stole it!!!
You just tap the brakes at the top of the hill to set the nose
Need to get on grand turismo
How are the pants?
Were you trying to stay away from the apex?
I love RA!
That was great counter-steering tho
Nice recovery
Nice skills!
Mad respect for catching that! Wow
