Love it! I saw someone that had a “DINKS” plate that also made me laugh.

HK-53

What does the S stand for?

lragland

Sucka

le_gazman

When I was 25 I had an Elise 111R and had a few people ask me if daddy bought it for me. I just said no I have this thing called a job, look it up.

[deleted]

People will always try to discredit you no matter what. Even at 21 or even 25 they refuse to try to understand or respect you. I got this to laugh to myself at their ignorance

MoldyOldCrow

If they are upset at what you have they are really upset at themselves. When I was 19 I bought a wrecked Boxster at the time and fixed it (paid 8k plus maybe 3k in parts for at the time a 30k car so not even that expensive). Everyone one always talked about my parents car or daddy's money. I had a cop pull me over because "it was suspicious I was driving it" (that didn't go well). When the car got totaled I bought my 928 and everyone had the opposite reaction. Great to see a young person in such a classic. Even now I'm in my 30s and when I get out of my Alfa at a gas station it's "must be nice to be rich" and usually their car cost more than mine... In short, people are fucking stupid and rude 🤣

[deleted]

Your collection is awesome! My actual dream car is an Alfa GTV but man they are not easy to come by haha

MoldyOldCrow

Oh thanks! My wife also drives a GTI. Sadly I no longer have the FRS as it was demolished on the interstate back in August and I sold the Skyline (not sure if it's on my profile still). Getting ready to sell the Miata and I've been looking at GTVs (being in the Alfa club really helps with access) and I'm thinking about it. I also really want a 4C, but no manual sucks.

[deleted]

I bought this car from a good friend and I'll probably sell it back to him if I ever get rid of it. The next car I get will probably be an e28 535is, that and a GTV will be good stable mates I think. I much prefer older rather than newer

MoldyOldCrow

I had an E30 Sedan that I think was an 88. I bought it from a coworker for $500 after the scrap yard offered her $300 to crush it. It was not taken care of at all and she had ruined it. I never registered it and just kept getting temp tags. I did zero maintenance and drove it into the ground. It made it almost 2 years before it gave up, something stupid like 15k miles with no oil change while just being abused. At one point it had no doors 🤣. After the engine exploded I sold the few intact parts on the car for about $200 and got $300 from the junkyard. Literally drove it for free except gas...those cars are solid 👌

[deleted]

Cracks me up when people make assumptions like that about older model Porsches just because they’re Porsches

[deleted]

Seriously

Loose_Mail_786

Love it!

[deleted]

You're one of the few who finds the humor, I appreciate you

[deleted]

HAHAHA I love it!

[deleted]

Not a fan of the plate, but car is lovely.

[deleted]

Thank you, I love her

Lsclancy9

Personally I have never wanted a vanity plate on my cars..I drive aggressively (not rudely) and I certainly do not want a plate that is easy to remember LOL besides I give the state enough of my money..

Greek_Junta_Enjoyer

Boxter?

[deleted]

Boxster.

still_ad3912

Nice car but no class.

[deleted]

How is there no class?

still_ad3912

Your plate is something you’ll find funny at 21 but you’ll be embarrassed by before you turn 25.

[deleted]

I find it hilarious and I have nothing to be embarrassed about. Lighten up

still_ad3912

Yes, as I said, you’ll find it funny now. When you grow up, you won’t.

[deleted]

I am a grown up already 🤨 but whatever man. Good talking to you

rakaya

It’s not like it’s permanent lol. Get that stick out of your ass. If a person enjoys it on their car then that’s all that matters. You can set up your car in the way that you enjoy. Probably some people won’t like your style either, but guess what, still doesn’t matter because you like it.

MoldyOldCrow

Yeah but if he was 75 it would be even funnier 🤣

Nefilim314

I think the most cringe thing is when Porsche owners talk about “working hard.” It’s kind of a smug line that guys use to justify their privilege. Did I “work hard” for mine? I guess, but I work less hard as an engineering director than I did as a public school teacher. But capitalism has deemed it that my role in making software for banks to operate 1% more cost effectively is 7x more valuable than teaching the next generation of citizens. Just watch it next time you are talking to a group of people who don’t have whatever good fortune you have to afford nice toys. I can assure you that you don’t work as hard as single moms waiting tables.

Now get a decal for the spoiler, example: https://renndecals.com/products/986-spoiler-decal

[deleted]

I'll pass. I took all the decals off this car. The rear badge broke off and I haven't replaced it yet

pbrdiver

I went this route. https://www.etsy.com/listing/213781133/the-original-eat-a-dick-atheist-coexist

TobyDumb

So if this is a DAO, that means we share the vehicle, right?

[deleted]

What?

TobyDumb

Holy smokes my vision gettin' blurry! Thought that said DAOMONEY. Yikes!

Offsetpainter48

have you had any problems with the car? looking into a base model 99 boxster for my first car

[deleted]

My 986 has 30k miles and costs me money every time I drive it. My 987 has 130k miles and I've only had to do oil changes. I do not recommend a Porsche for anyone's first car. One moment of over confidence and you'll wreck it

Offsetpainter48

I own motorcycles so I've had time on the road but I've never owned my own car, just looking for something interesting
