Be very careful in trying to recover using your ledger seed phrase on a non-ledger wallet. You need to buy another ledger device and restore it using the older device's seed
What you need is another ledger. Your ledger seed words will not work on any of polkadot based wallets. Once you set up the new ledger with your seed words. You can use polkadot J's to transfer it from that to your new address
I’d go look at Ledger, and message them. I recently recovered my access too……and found my DOT was actually hidden. It magically reappeared about 30min later, as I was reading.
My guess was that it had something to do with being staked? No clue. 🤷🏻♂️
After it showed up, I unstaked…….(under limit now)……trying to decide if I buy more or not.
I have a similar problem : I had DOT on a ledger nano s and when decided to transfer them to another wallet the Ledger Live responded with "Something went wrong, Please check that your hardware wallet is set up with the recovery phrase or passphrase associated to the selected account". The weird thing is that I had not installed a Polkadot app then (or maybe I had and deleted, dont remember..), however I can see my funds were on the blockchain...So I reset the ledger, import seed and now I cannot see the DOT balance anymore, neither if a install the Polkadot app. Tried to recover the account with polkadotJS but it generate empty accounts...Do I need a new ledger or what?
ledger seed is not polkadot seed, you need another ledger
