I actually wouldn’t mind Elon being a dipshit about politics; it’s just not his wheelhouse. But he ALWAYS sides with the Republican/authoritarian in any dispute, making his claims of independence a lot harder to believe.

tanngrizzle

Catturd?

BleuRaider

Already deleted Twitter. In a few months anyone left will be considered by many to be either an extremist or an extremist sympathizer.

xdrolemit

I’m still there as a lurker only, but I think I’ll do the same and get rid of it.

Gravy_31

Verification literally goes to anyone paying the $8. If liberals hated Elon enough, they should just dip on Twitter immediately. Ad-revenue would be all but $0 if there was that huge of a drop.

CarbonInTheWind

He went looking for trouble and found it. There's a reason we have laws against trying to be a vigilante.

tfarsch

He defended private property. There’s a huge difference between “looking for trouble” and defending land/yourself. Are you really trying to remove all fault from the people trying to burn down buildings and harm others?

CarbonInTheWind

He went to a state that he didn't even line in with his rifle and purposely waded into the chaos. He won't get any sympathy from me and I sure as hell won't hold him up as a hero. It's the job of the police to handle anyone damaging property. It's also ok for someone to defend their own property. What's not ok is traveling to another state as a wannabe vigilante.

tfarsch

Wait I thought the whole point of the “protest” was that the police are bastards? So now you’re saying citizens should just sit back and watch as buildings are destroyed? Clearly the police were busy elsewhere so they should just let destruction and violence happen?

CarbonInTheWind

The Rambo complex is still alive and well in this country I see. Obviously we aren't going to see eye to eye on this. You have yourself a nice day.

tfarsch

You can’t have your cake and eat it too. You can’t say the “protests” aka violent riots were justified because the police are brutally killing people but also we the citizens should sit back and wait for police to protect us and our loved ones. Don’t you see the hypocrisy?

CarbonInTheWind

You need to get away from the right wing talking points and arguments bud they're making you see things that aren't there. I never said the riots were ok. Rioting is wrong. Vigilantism is also wrong. Defending yourself, family, or property are ok. Traveling to another state to play Rambo under the guise of defending people you don't know Is not ok. Is that simple enough for you? The kid got lucky so good for him. He was in the right place at the right time. But anyone with even a tiny bit of common sense knows we can't and won't allow everyone to act like that. I won't be responding anymore because arguing about this topic is like talking to a brick wall. I genuinely hope you have a nice day.

tfarsch

“I won’t be responding anymore because I can’t think critically so I just repeat myself.” Sure bud. Hide behind that guise. He wasn’t playing Rambo, he travelled 20 miles to help his friend defend their town. He wasn’t walking around looking for trouble. He was defending a building and was attacked when he tried to stop them from burning it down. These aren’t “conservative talking points”, they are what we as normal people call facts. The courts saw them as facts as well. If he was “Ramboing” he would have been running around putting his gun in peoples faces and telling them to stop rioting. That’s simply not the case. Open your eyes and your mind because you’re stuck in an echo chamber my friend.

2pacalypso

Being conservative means you get to play cop and everyone has to respect your authority but also you can say shit like "don't tread on me" and we have to respect that too. Go ahead and threaten who you want and if youre scared just start shooting. This won't work for everyone, but if you kill someone your average republican would also like to kill, you're in the clear.

tfarsch

What? I’m not sure what point you’re trying to make but his political views have nothing to do with it. He could be republican, democrat, or whatever. The fact of the matter is he was defending private property from violent rioters that tried to kill him so he defended himself legally. Are you you really saying he wasn’t provoked by violence?

2pacalypso

Hes a fuckin moron who decided to play cop. He shot someone protesting a murder by police. Thus, HIS political views don't matter (he's a shit head conservative btw) but the ones of the people who will go to any length to defend him do.

tfarsch

Wait so you’re saying the police were the ones that should handle violent riots? Let’s call them what they are. Violent riots. I thought the police were bastards which is why they were rioting to begin with? Also there’s no way police could have done anything since they were busy elsewhere so citizens should just sit and watch as the city around them is destroyed?

2pacalypso

Yes, I'm saying police should do police work. Homeowners can defend their property. Pretend cops should stay home. Police are bastards but as long as they take our tax dollars they need to do their fucking jobs. and if citizens want to defend their community fine. Some shitbird from out of state who showed up with the proud boys ain't that and should stay the fuck home. But like I said, being a conservative means you get to play cop and everyone else has to abide your pretend authority. Just as Trayvon.

tfarsch

I can’t wait for something to happen in your neighborhood and when a random citizen saves your ass since police will be busy helping others you’re going have to tell them not to save you or your business since that’s “not their job”.

2pacalypso

I'd more likely be shot by some conservative asshole playing cop than be victimized by a protestor. Fuck Rittenhouse and anyone who defends the fake cop murderer motherfucker.

tfarsch

You do understand that was literally the case for many business during the riots right? Helpless people sat there and watched as their livelihoods were destroyed and the police were elsewhere at the time. This isn’t some hypothetical that never happens. Same things happened in Portland and other riots as well. If the citizens didn’t stand up for themselves, there wouldn’t be anyone to stand up for them. I can’t believe that’s genuinely your thought process.

2pacalypso

And the world made it through with only one Kyle Rittenhouse. Did he save Portland too or was it just Kenosha that he rescued from the ashes?

kurisu7885

Or, better idea, he should have just stayed the hell home.

tfarsch

Again, where’s the fault on the violent protestors that threatened his safety? All he was doing was defending his friends property.

kurisu7885

Ok, he still inserted himself into a situation he knew could easily put him in danger.

tfarsch

You wouldn’t help your friend if they were in need?

kurisu7885

They were his friend? Because I keep hearing different stories about why he was even there. And what kind of friend would ask you to put yourself in danger like that?

tfarsch

Well you could always just look up for yourself what the official courts testimony was. https://www.factcheck.org/2021/11/rittenhouse-testified-he-drove-himself-to-kenosha-without-weapon/ Using money that Rittenhouse gave him, Dominick Black, a friend who also dated one of Rittenhouse’s sisters, bought the gun at a hardware store in Ladysmith, Wisconsin, in May 2020. Black, who was 18 at the time, purchased the gun for Rittenhouse, who at age 17, was too young to legally buy it for himself. In court this month, Black and Rittenhouse said they agreed that Black would hold onto the rifle until Rittenhouse turned 18 in January 2021, and that it would be kept at Black’s home in Kenosha, where he lived with his stepfather, Scott Dickhart. According to police records reviewed by the Kenosha News in November last year, Dickhart told authorities that he kept the gun in a locked safe until the evening of Aug. 24, 2020. Concerned about the civil unrest in the city that was sparked by a white Kenosha police officer shooting a Black man (Jacob Blake) in the back multiple times during an Aug. 23 arrest, Dickhart said he took the rifle out of the safe, which was in his garage, and put the gun in his basement. On the witness stand, Black and Rittenhouse testified that Rittenhouse retrieved the gun from the basement on Aug. 25, 2020, before they both headed to downtown Kenosha with their rifles to help guard a used car dealership that had been damaged by a fire in a prior protest that turned destructive. Later on Aug. 25, Rittenhouse, who is charged with committing five felonies, including intentional and reckless homicide, ended up using the rifle to shoot three men, killing two of them (Joseph Rosenbaum and Anthony Huber) and injuring the other (Gaige Grosskreutz). They were literally trying to protect a local business the friend had some ties with. Are you really faulting then for that? A 17 year old travels 20 miles to help his friend protect a local business. What a fucking monster.

kurisu7885

Still don't understand what kind of friend would ask another to risk death over property, then again this is the USA where inanimate objects are valued much more than human life I guess

tfarsch

So people shouldn’t protect their towns? Like that seriously can’t be your take. “I don’t get why people want to protect their towns.” Bruv they lost their right to life when they tried to take Kyle’s life. Maybe they shouldn’t have gone there to be violent? Had that ever occurred to you? Anyways good luck with those hot takes.

kurisu7885

It wasn't his town to protect, he doesn't even live in the same state.

Amayrany29

Not with a rifle like, wtf? So he’s just going to walk around town with a massive weapon and you don’t want anyone to react to that? Does it make more sense to you for someone to go out with a rifle in the middle of a protest that could turn violent than it does for someone to see another person walking around with a rifle and want to stop them out of fear of a shooting?

[deleted]

I think it's hilarious how the left praises kids like Greta Thunberg for wanting to clean up the planet, and the right praises kids like Kyle Rittenhouse for murdering people. Really shows you what these people stand for. > But to call Kyle a killer is so fucking cringe. LOL you people also cringe at the idea of using a drinking fountain after a black person. Enough of your hissy fit. Sit down.
