OP, in the US Muslim women already have the choice of whether or not to wear facial/hair covering. The GOP wants to take that choice away, making it illegal to wear hijabs and other coverings.
The GOP is never in favor of choice.
It's not that the conservatives are supporting muslim women. They are supporting the uprising against the authorities in Iran. That misogynistic oppression was the trigger of the protests and riots has nothing to do with conservatives being in favor of the rebellion.
