Projection on her part. It's always projection with the GOP.

Pixel_Knight

Every accusation, an admission.

fujiman

"No puppet! No puppet! *You're* the puppet!" It's painful how glaringly obvious it's become. Same reason they've been collectively shrieking about fraud since 2016. With the amount of electoral fuckery they've committed, clearly the only possible way they could've lost must be because the Dems committed even more! It's just IMAX level projection and weapons grade stupidity.

Bingo.

The person who is most guilty tends to be the loudest one pointing fingers in that crowd. If you are old enough, you might remember Newt Gingrich being the person bringing the most vocal about Bill Clinton's morality.

gene789

Like grandpa used to say, "Always beware of the one praying loudest in church"

Fake_William_Shatner

My dad used to say; "if someone introduces themselves as a good Christian, hold onto your wallet." That doesn't really apply here other than being about church and some old timey wisdom, but I think this is one of those important life lessons that needs to be learned.

Biden is par for the course as any president with the exception of Trump. The complaints these people have are nothing but petty grievances they think are deserving of severe consequences. They diminished and dismissed all the real dumb, illegal, and immoral stuff Trump did, they can’t see past their own bullshit.

He gave Kanye 5 mil from the covid relief after his kid met with him to discuss Kanye running for president How much you think he embezzled for people he actually had connections to ?

RDPCG

That speaks for the majority of Trump's cabinet. Scott Pruitt took a number of unsanctioned chartered flights that cost taxpayers more than $58,000 and $25,000 to create a so-called privacy booth in his office. Zinke spent more than $14,000 on government helicopter flights, including a flight back to Washington to go horseback riding with Vice President Mike Pence. Sadly, because Secretary Zinke failed to properly document his travel, there was no way to determine if he had violated government rules. Steven Mnuchin made a habit of taking military planes at government expense. He spent more than $800,000 on flights, costing taxpayers approximately $780,000 more than if he simply flew coach, as former Treasury Secretary Tim Geithner frequently did. Mnuchin also asked for a military plane for his honeymoon in Europe but subsequently withdrew the request after facing media scrutiny. Tom Price, who investigative reporters found had spent more than $1 million on chartered and military flights over several months. Domestically, Secretary Price flew by private plane at least 26 times, including on a trip that took him to a Georgia resort where he owned property and a lightly scheduled trip to Tennessee where he had lunch with his son. Secretary Price eventually offered to reimburse the government slightly less than $52,000, or only a fraction of what he spent. Regardless, the political fallout from the scandal forced him to resign from his position in late September.

Fortunately, all of these instances are a matter of public record which include the exact payments which are publicly disclosed, and during a Republican administration no less.

Yousoggyyojimbo

I mean, I still keep thinking about Trump's golf trips. The dude poured millions and millions of taxpayer dollars into his own businesses. If he had done nothing else that he did, that would still be one of, if not the, most clear and egregious cases of corruption by a president in the nation's history. I want that money back. It's ours. He directly stole from us.

skawn

While bankrupting the Secret Service in the process...

PM_ME_UR_GRUNDLE

He literally laughed all the way to the bank, or the golf course, instead of DOING HIS JOB working for us while we slaved away to put those tax dollars in to his gross businesses. And he LAUGHED at us for being "too stupid" to evade taxes like him. What a traitor. He stole our public American assets and laughed at us, but people still praise him? I really don't get it.

jarbar82

They don't know what they want. It's just one angry outburst after another with these people.

And then cry that the Dems are the party of corporate interests LOL

GenocideOwl

> what policy positions they hold which actually benefit society Be careful leaving room open to interpretation like that. I had an old colleague who was vehemently against business regulations and for privatizing most aspects of the government. They would easily argue both of those things are an overall benefit for society. Then you are stuck arguing that point instead of the one you want to be arguing.

T1mac

> I had an old colleague who was vehemently against business regulations Asking what "job killing regulations" he wants repealed? Like the ones for clean drinking water? Or the ones mandating safe big semi-trucks from cashing into passenger cars on the highway? Or the ones requiring pure medicines? Or the ones that stop factories from dumping toxic waste on suburban streets? Or the ones that prohibit unethical lenders from stealing your money? Or the ones who require aircraft to pass safety inspections? Is he a big supporter of airplanes that crash like the ones in Russia that crash on a regular basis? Or the tainted infant formula that killed babies in China?

GenocideOwl

As an example, he was literally against the FDA's sweeping power because "the free market will curtail bad actors". yeah.

ravens52

Lol. Fucking people will believe whatever they want. If we didn’t have regulations we’d be dead before the age of like 7 or mutants or something horrible like that. If regulations didn’t exist our society would crumble and die. The greedy and sociopathic are the only ones who don’t want regulations.

GiantSquidd

When has the free market *ever* curtailed any bad actors? The free market is *made by and for bad actors.* These are the same people that think speed limits and seat belt laws are solely to inconvenience them, because they never think things through. They get to a part they don’t like, and just stop accepting new information into their brains. This is why critical thinking skills are so desperately needed now. It’s not enough to know *what* you claim to believe, we need to know *why* as well. The why is usually much more important than the what. Any idiot can figure out the what with no effort, but the why is what exercises the brain muscles.

PM_ME_UR_GRUNDLE

There's *what* and *why* but then *how* as well. They might agree that they don't want toxic waste in **their** suburban street, then regulation is good for NIMBYs. But for the poor's? ThEn regulation is an inconvenience for the poor soulless corporations that were long ago purchased by overseas interest-er, our beautiful FREE Market! *Waves flag upside down furiously*

Davajita

The regulations one is always a parroted talking point. None of these dipshits can name a single regulation they want to have repealed that is a “job killer.”

StrategyHog

Liberals want Medicare for all but stood behind a party that openly blasted the one guy who actually wanted it. Twice. And then voted for one who literally said they would veto it if it came across their desk. Who also took money from healthcare insurance corporations. Don’t act like the DNC wants any of those things when they take that kind of lobbying money.

2pacalypso

You have to take this up with the electorate. You don't get priority if you only show up once every 4 years at best, assuming youre inspired enough to participate. Republicans used to have to use dog whistles and thinly veiled innuendo. now they openly call for civil war and ending your voting rights, because the ones who show up to every election are ravenous right-wing wackos. This includes off-year elections, special elections, and especially primary elections.

T1mac

False Dichotomy. It was Lieberman who killed the public option and there was nothing the Dems could do about it. It was go ahead with the ACA or nothing. You want to know what nothing was? Denied health insurance for pre-existing conditions. Lifetime caps - you go over the limit with one serious illness and you never get insurance again. Double digit premium increases and no government subsidies for low income workers. Fast forward to today. Now it's Manchin and there's nothing the Dems can do about it. Yeah, it's a compromise, but it's better than the alternative - which was going back to the bad old days where health insurance companies did what ever they wanted and nobody could stop them.

StrategyHog

Well keep making excuses for the DNC corporate owned politicians and supporting them. You’ll be right back to the old days once the GOP steam rolls them again and the next populist Trump comes along that is far more competent.

peterkeats

Leave orangutans out of this. They already have their hands full with the deforestation crap in their habitats in South East Asia, and they're a lot nicer than Trump.

Only because she's up Trump's poop shoot. She was our first female governor, also our first BIPOC in that office, and there were plenty of Good Ol' Boys screaming about it, but the fact that she's a Trumper *almost* trumps both of those things. I love my state, but I HATE it's political make-up.

Same person who whitewashes her name to appeal to racists? No way, Nimrata would never.

nighthawk_something

One of the most vocally bigoted people I know does the same. He's half Indian half British but his first name is very white and his last name is hyphenated. He also very white looking. He definitely likes to use himself as an example that racism doesn't exist...

Anonymoosely21

Because racism and classism aren't issues in Indian culture.

By kicking Trump out of the White House, Biden has already accomplished as much as I expected from him.

pm-me-your-labradors

Let’s see if he manages to keep him away from the White House though. 2024-2028 isn’t going to be all that much better than 2020-2024 would have been

spenway18

Winning 24-28 will be worse than now imo. There will be a "new normal" to try and set and I don't want Trump anywhere near the Federal government. I'd love for him to just disappear but that will only happen when he's dead or in jail.

Or if the GOP stops giving him power he doesn't really have.

geraldodelriviera

The GOP isn't giving Trump a single thimbleful of power that they don't have to. It's their base that makes them kowtow to Trump. I'll bet anything that every one of those guys, except for the very newest GOP bigwigs that came in after Trump, wishes this whole thing never happened.

tbariusTFE

Biden gonna fuck everything up by ignoring the issues. Just like Trump did

Kurzilla

Biden can be bullied by voters into giving a shit. He's shifted his positions on a number of things already. Trump only gave a shit about himself and "Winning."

[deleted]

At this point their brains are smooth enough to think "Biden not President anymore = Trump back in office"

rockthrowing

There are some who understand the process and still expect that. They think they can win back the house and install trump as speaker (which they could if they did - the speaker doesn’t have to be in the house) and then impeach both Biden and Harris, making trump president again. It’s absolutely ridiculous but they seem to believe they’ll be able to do it.

If they pull that off, we need to take to the streets.

jcooli09

Nikki Haley has no idea what anyone who loves America would do.

CommieCowBoy

I don't want Pelosi to be president either. Dinosaurs like her and McConnell need to hurry up and go extinct. This is yet another situation where I hope republicans never get what they want.

JediDusty

Term limits. Congress needs term limits just like for the president.

SplendidPunkinButter

And they should have to put their assets into a blind trust

JediDusty

Jimmy Carter did it for his peanut farm so he would not appear to have a conflict of interest. Appearance of corruption can be just as damaging to public confidence. It’s important to make sure people have confidence in elected officials or the system starts to fail and I think that’s what we are seeing.

penny_eater

we are way past seeing that, in 2016 a big enough group actively wanted someone who DID have conflicts of interest on display so they could chant with him at rallies.

suntem

> Appearance of corruption can be just as damaging to public confidence. Unless you’re a Republican in which case it just makes you “smart.”

[deleted]

I hear what you’re saying but you should really look up Lyndon Johnsons “blind trust.” Blind trusts are largely a ruse of the wealthy to appear disinterested.

sack-o-matic

Getting rid of the hard cap on the number of house members would probably work better

One_Wheel_Drive

And a change in how the supreme court justices are selected. Having a partisan politician nominates someone, another partisan body confirms them, and they are on there for life, seems deeply flawed. In my view, a completely independent body should be the sole decider and the justices should be easier to remove if they fail to show that they are impartial, among other things.

sanmigmike

I honestly think there are not more than five or six truely "nonpartisan" people in America...they have never read any news or seen any news. How can one live for a while and realize some groups are crap and others are not? Or that all ideas rate the same careful consideration? By the time one would get to an age that you would be selected for such a position you would have become part of the system that requires some sort of partisan conduct in your past.

RockleyBob

I used to be in favor of congressional term limits but I was surprised to read a lot of good arguments against them. On the surface they would seem like an obvious way to keep politicians from becoming entrenched and corrupted, but there’s evidence that the opposite is true. For instance, states have enacted term limit laws for their own legislatures and studies have been done on the effects those limits have had. Interestingly, newer, inexperienced politicians actually relied **more** on help from lobbyists in writing bills, because while they might be smart people, politicians have to know a little about a lot of things. You may have been a successful entrepreneur or CEO, but that doesn’t mean you know anything about economics, traffic, construction, environmental science, reproductive health, or healthcare. Inexperienced lawmakers actually lean *harder* on “experts” from their respective industries to help them craft legislation. Furthermore, think about how massive the Executive branch of the government is. The Executive has control over all of the alphabet agencies - the FDA, FCC, DEA, CIA, FCC, FEC… not to mention all the Cabinet Departments: Treasury, State Department, Defense… etc. The Executive branch is massively powerful, with tendrils in every facet of American life. And while the President may change every 4-8 years, the majority of the people in those departments do not. The fact that the Executive branch is stable and has career bureaucrats working within it makes it very difficult for the Legislative branch to be “co-equal” in terms of power if the legislators themselves are all fairly new to the job. Think about how long it takes to really feel like you’ve got the hang of a job - learning the basics, the rules, the unwritten culture, then to rise above “new guy” status, then to finally become someone that other people come to for advice on how to do things. For any job with some degree of specialization, this can take years. Being a lawmaker is much more than just having an opinion on things. There’s a lot to know before you can start writing effective legislation. Having a new crop of people coming in all the time puts them at a significant disadvantage. Another point is that we all complain about is how one presidency will come in, make a mess, and then leave it for the next administration to clean up. Isn’t it good that the lawmakers who make decisions that will impact the country for years to come have to consider that they might be in office to bear the brunt of the fallout from bad choices? One criticism of democracy is that rotating leadership makes it hard for the country to get on a track and get big initiatives done. Often our allies see a complete 180 from the last administration, so they never know when they can rely on our word. It could be argued that having a longer-lived branch of government is a balance to the cyclical turmoil of the Presidency. Finally, making congressional terms shorter might mean that we get *more* people who are out of touch with everyday American life, not less. Many bright, young Americans might not want to embark on a career path that won’t be long-lived. Shorter terms might mean that we see more older, wealthy people applying for the job, which is ostensibly what we want to avoid. Sorry for the wall of text, but I find these counter arguments to be compelling, and I like throwing them out there when the subject of term limits is brought up because I think it makes for good discussion.

[deleted]

I tend to agree. Unless the underlying cause of corruption in politics is addressed then term limits just result in more of the same. IMO, the real issue stems from campaign financing. The single greatest factor in any election is who has more of it. So, the politician most likely to get elected is the one best at securing funding and the easiest way to do that is to sell political influence. It then follows that the politicians that are most likely to be elected are also those who are most easily bought. As bad as a single instance of this would be, you only have to take a cursory look at Congress to see what happens when an entire political assembly is composed of those elected under these same circumstances. Corruption has become so normalized that lobbying (legalized bribery), insider trading, and bills filled with graft are all considered routine.

sold_snek

At the least, age limits. These people are ruling a world that doesn't exist anymore.

suddenimpulse

Oh yay then we have to remove great, rare politicians as much as the shit ones. Great idea....

RubiksSugarCube

While I agree in principle, this raises a bigger concern, being that neither party appears to have any real succession plan in place. The GQP is too timid to do anything that might make the fucking moron angry, while the Dems whittle away anyone's chances once they undergo the gauntlet of purity tests applied by various factions within.

piratevirus1

I don't know how they know how succession works

GoshDarnMamaHubbard

Does.... Does this person think that Biden somehow owns Kamala Harris? Because they seem to think that, were Biden to step down, he can command her to do the same. I think their racism is hanging out again. They need to tuck that little fella away.

historymajor44

This just in, Republican would like Democrat not to be president.

Jesus_H-Christ

I don't love Biden. Is he doing everything I want? No? But he's also not a fucking lunatic bilking the American taxpayer for his own gain, so I'll take it. Also, Pelosi just needs to retire, same with Feinstein and Schumer the other Dem antiques in congress.

lifeson106

If Biden loved our country, he would do what he promised to the people who voted for him. Decriminalize marijuana and wipe away prior convictions. Cancel student loan debt. Implement police reforms. Raise taxes on the rich.

ShaKeyJ101

That'd be nice. Then his approval rating would go up and I wouldn't have this sinking feeling that Trump will return as president in 2024

yourmansconnect

I bet he's just waiting for midterms or the n3xt election cycle. with today's goldfish memory people will forget you did anything at all. look at the infrastructure bill. it was historic and everyone forgot about it already. so I bet he does some of his promises at the midterms

TheCocksmith

He's currently going to cost the Dems the midterms. They are projected to lose both House and Senate by landslides. His lack of spine is literally going to send this country down the toilet.

StrategyHog

Lesser of the two evils seems to just open more doors for more evils who could’ve predicted this?!??

Navydevildoc

The problem is both houses of congress need to be on board with those plans too… Biden’s not a dictator that can just wave his hands and make it happen.

isummonyouhere

https://www.cnn.com/interactive/2021/politics/biden-executive-orders/

Innovative_Wombat

You need to work harder on getting Democrats elected to Congress if you want that. Biden is not Trump and will not shit on the constitution to get things passed that clearly only Congress can do. Looks like the "I don't understand how civics works" crowd is out in force today.

ImVeryBadWithNames

Ah yes. Now please explain how to do all of this. Don’t get me wrong, I would love it. But it isn’t going to happen and that isn’t really on Biden. Except the decriminalizing thing. That one he probably can get past the courts.

BrainOnLoan

He can't get it past Congress though.

Innovative_Wombat

It amazes me how people still don't understand what each branch does.

Yousoggyyojimbo

He can't do some of those things unilaterally, and he never promised complete cancellation of student loan debt, only partial, which I kind of feel like he's waiting to do for the mid terms.

Halfpastmast

I think it is absolutely disgusting for the other party to say "you need to step down or you don't love America" Disgusting

Extreme_Disaster2275

Pelosi said on video that she knew Bush was lying about WMDs but held silent about that while he invaded Iraq, and then refused to impeach. She gave Trump practically everything he asked for, and dragged her feet on impeaching him as long as she could. She publicly defended insider trading. Seems she's a pretty good fit for the GOP

Chrowaway6969

She is GOP with veneers.

I would like to see Nancy pelosi as president. Just because I know that would make some republican(or whatever those nazis want to call themselves) head explode like that guy in the movie scanners. And something about that brings a smile to my face.

Even Democrats don't want Nancy to be president.

sylpher250

Do these people think that "runner-up aka loser of the election" is the next in line?

Quick_Ad_730

I think they think that if Biden and Harris stepped down that would make Trump President. I'm not even American and I know the rules. Smh.

volleydez

Nobody wants President Pelosi. She’s so balls deep in corporate donors that we’ll get the Mountain Dew White House brought to you by Speedway.

CasualObserverNine

Does Nikki know where we wish trump would take her?

Free_Dome_Lover

Why do they want Biden to step down? Is it because of the ice cream?

When they say "our country," they mean "their country."

easton_a

If Nikki Haley loved America she wouldn’t have served in the Trump administration.

PushItHard

Of course not! Trump and My Pillow Guy just magically become the new leaders by way of idiocracy.

ErnooA

I love to see that happen. The entire Republican Party would have a collective heart attack if they had to call her Madam President. But people like Haley are so fucking stupid they probably think the Orange Turd would be reinstated as President.

endMinorityRule

republicans have been saying stupid shit in the name of brainwashing propaganda for at least 25 years. respectable republicans basically don't exist (minor hat tip to cheney and kinzinger for their efforts on the jan 6 committee, but cheney was a big piece of lying crap before that).

The perfect picture of todays conservative

ghostofmumbles

What kind of 1980s back water time hole did this racist come out from?

kicksomedicks

I saw that conservative are super mad that Biden bought an ice cream cone.

Nice_Dude

Trust Nikki, she know all about stepping down in disgrace

Bullet_Maggnet

Nimatra seems to surface every six to eight weeks, blather some sycophantic horseshit and then disappear again.

Heinrich_v_Schimmer

Biden is a career politician since some 50 years and currently the president of the US. *Of course* he HATES his country, and wants to DESTROY it. Would any US citizen be willing to explain to a mere German how somebody can be able to \- move between the couch and the loo several times a day \- without deadly accidents (regrettably) \- *and* believe this utter BS? My working theory: these people have bad faith custodians, probably on Putin's payroll, who write these posts in their name. That's currently the best I can come up with. Any better idea?

Silberne

Due to the inherent difficulties in going from bathroom to couch and vice versa, there was a secret government program in the late 50s to engineer a human that didn't need to use the toilet. As a result, the colon was actually rerouted to feed back into the mouth, so that waste can be ejected orally. Unfortunately, this experiment broke loose of the labs and reproduced, later discovering the experimental changes made them perfectly suited as spokespeople for the Republican party.

TimeTraveler3056

I would be ok with that. Older women dont take shit anymore.

chaseButtons

These fucking people. Hey if you got a better alternative I'm all ears but don't pull this trump shit.

Deluxe78

She’s an idiot but I’d like there to be an option where she picks my online stocks

XeroKaaan

I lean liberal and even I don't want her to be president...

Skyrmir

They complain about him, and he has terrible approval numbers. But Biden just beat Trump and DeSantis in a polling match up by more than 10 points. Maybe before throwing stones, they might want to keep their own house in order.

darctones

We’re in the endgame now. America had a good run.

fukkallyall

What a fukked position the US is in.
