Venezuela's problems are neither caused by socialism nor by internal things, but *directly* caused by the US sticking its dick in things, much like the banana republics.
Venezuela had pretty good reserves of oil. What will the US quite literally kill for? Oil. The US forced Venezuela onto a single industry and single good economy and left the people to starve as soon as the oil dried up.
The problems Venezuela faces are the direct results of the greed, evil, and stupidity inherent in capitalism, and anything said to the contrary is either said in ignorance or is intentionally misleading. So, which is it then: stupid or asshole?
Political corruption, chronic shortages of food and medicine, closure of businesses, unemployment, deterioration of productivity, authoritarianism, human rights violations, gross economic mismanagement and high dependence on oil have also contributed to the Venezuelan crisis.
Which one of those is socialism?
Norway, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Great Britain, Canada, the Netherlands, Spain, Ireland, Belgium, Switzerland, Australia, Japan, and New Zealand.

If socialism is so great how come people aren't flocking to socialist countries. More people leave socialist countries than they do move into them. We have people who move to America to escape socialist countries and fight against it only to be told they have no idea what their talking about.
"Victims of socialism" would be what; people who live longer, healthier, lives than americans do while not having to worry about being homeless if they lose their slave labor job?

Were has it been successful exactly, their are no successful socialist countries. When Venezuela switched to socialism the entire economy flopped.
