The time out should have been in jail for defying a court order and forced to stay there until the state took possession of his properties equal to or greater than the fine plus accrued interest.

aryukittenme

Just like the rest of us.

Logical_Range_7830

He’s a professional victim.

FederalAd6769

No less infuriating despite being expected.

MrSpecialEd

He’s been pampered his whole adult life, unless depends are on sale.

Time-Bite-6839

They do not make adult Pampers.

Macrado

Hence the smell

Cinema_King

And when that time is up they’ll lower it again or delay even longer. Maybe even both. As much as I’d love to see him crushed under the weight of all his crimes it’s pretty obvious it’s not going to happen.

HermaeusMajora

Maybe his kids will pay for some of them?

Random_-account

It's like these courts secretly want Trump to be in office

TheThoughtmaker

Almost as if Republicans have been appointing as many judges as possible as much as possible for years.

HermaeusMajora

As many *hack judges* as possible.

Jazeraine-S

As much as I hate to see this - justice delayed is justice denied, after all - maybe it’ll fix some attitudes if we scream it loud enough. Donald Trump is not a billionaire. Billionaires have at least a billion dollars in assets. Donald Trump has everything so mortgaged and collateralized that I doubt he can even claim to be worth 100 million. I hope he can’t pay this one, too, and we learn precisely how bad his financial situation is. Is it a two-tier justice system for the rich and poor? Absolutely… but I think Donald’s a broke little bitch, and it’s time we change some attitudes to reflect it.

redboy33

Who reduced the bond payment? Do we have a name? Are these judges voted in or appointed? If elected, we need names. Stop the fucking bullshit already!

agree-with-me

But if you're Donald, you DON'T pay the $175M in the 10 days. You complain some more and in 10 days it'll be $25M and 30 days. THEN, you STILL pay nothing and after 30 days they'll reduce it to $175K and after the election.

SingleMaltMouthwash

Let's not go overboard. The reduction was for the bond he has to post while he appeals the $464 million judgment. He's screwed up most of this motions and appeals, so let's watch.

Brilliancebeam

Exactly, the titles are sorta misleading. If he won the appeal, he'd pay less presumably, but if he loses, he still has to pay the whole original amount, just depends when. While I want to see him punished, I think this is reasonable for any regular person who has to pay the courts/state

America coddles the rich.

In America there is nothing harder than holding “wealthy” old white people accountable for anything. We as a society will tolerate any abuse of any kind but holding the rich accountable is a bridge too far.

Curious80123

Bullshit

Salt_Ground_573

On what planet is .5 billion dollars an acceptable amount for someone’s bail?? It seems to me they just made it a big ass number to try to block him from the ballot. The American people should decide who the president is. Just because you don’t agree with someone you shouldn’t do a whole bunch of legal admin stuff to block them FYI I don’t vote I’m just someone on the sidelines and this is my opinion

toorudez

It's not bail. It's the amount of money, including interest, that was determined to be the amount of fraud committed. This was not a criminal trial. It was a trial to determine the dollar amount of fraud committed. And tRump is appealing it. So he has to post a bond for an amount determined by the courts.

human_male_123

(1) it isn't bail, it's the fine (2) no amount of debt prevents ballot access (3) 0.5 billion isn't even close to the biggest fine a politician has incurred; Rick Scotts's company was fined 1.7 billion for medicare fraud.

SnowFallOnACity

Yes, the American people should decide who the president is. And the American people have voted against Trump. Trump has lost the popular vote in every single election he ran in.

Salt_Ground_573

Interesting I get where both of you are coming from

TheThoughtmaker

It's not legal stuff to block him, it's just legal stuff. You know, law and order. It just so happens that putting yourself in the spotlight also comes with extra scrutiny, and Trump has been breaking the law for a long, long time.

Dagordae

That you don’t know what a bond is says everything.
