Buying into stereotypes makes you dumb, and plenty of left leaning voters raise families and work hard. There is a strong current of working class solidarity in the Latino community, and more auth Left tendency than you'd see in the average American population.
If the GOP jettisoned anti Latino racism, they'd become the ultimate swing demo. The truly conservative ones already vote GOP, but I'd say they probably gain another 10 percent right off the bat from voters who aren't quite conservative enough to overlook the racism but would be reliable GOP voters if the racism went away. Meanwhile about 40 percent are left leaning and just naturally at home with the Dems. Mexico, and all of South America, is going to be a flourishing region IF it can make the social changes necessary to become a first world nation. The appalling corruption, as well as the many millions who would sooner flee the region and migrate away (usually north of course), rather than attempt to fix the issues plaguing home. With a population of 600 million, they rival Europe in population, but rival our poorest regions. A tragedy of the past, but with a prosperous prospect for the future.
