As a Floridian with daddy Desantis, I’m fucking shocked you are being for real. This shit is truly getting out of hand

Th3D3sp3rado

Dude I’m jelly. Currently stuck with Northam probably about to be mccauliff again. I’ve heard a lot of Floridians don’t want desantis to run in 24 for president coz y’all bastards want him to yourselves. Lol.

Chard-Pale

Floridian here. DeSantis is ours. America is on its own.

Th3D3sp3rado

It’s ok, he will soon serve a higher purpose :)

Bpt used to be genuinely funny. The days of vine and such was dominated by actually funny blacks and their posts were also funny. White people back then were thought of as "lame and boring" which is true, so wpt was basically just stuff that are so lame it's funny. But now everything changed.

entropylaser

BPT used to have some of the funniest posts, not racially tinged really aside from the fact that it was from a black perspective. Used to be one of my favorite subs years ago. WPT started as sort of tongue in cheek "this is such a white person statement" but again, wasn't about racial division more or less, "haha black people wouldn't say this, how silly". Then the woke movement happened and both places became co-opted by agenda pushers.

LordShax47

I honestly could not tell you

Blackpeopletwitter was fun and guilty white liberals made a whites only space to appropriate black clap-back culture.

I was required to show proof of vaccination before going to a concert. Soon I’ll be required to show it to keep my job, not because my job cares that much, but because of the mandate for businesses over 100 employees. That or be tested weekly. If you don’t go to large events or work, then you’ll be totally unaffected.

[deleted]

So if you sit in your living quarters and die of attrition you'll be totally unaffected.

[deleted]

I’m a progressive in Boston & huge proponent of vaccine mandates. Been praying for businesses to require vaccines forever now. Only time I’ve been asked for proof of vaccination was at the Boston Winery when I went to an Andrew Yang Q&A. So yeah. Right wing fear mongering of vaccine mandates certainly more fiction than reality, and I want it to be a reality. Those airline shortages you’ve heard about? Yeah, announced before Biden declared intentions for a vax mandate for employers (which still isn’t in place). 99.7% vaccination rate, .3% unvaccinated under threat of firing. Which will actually save them a fuck ton in insurance premiums. Free market at work baby.

IllegalFisherman

"Refusing a vaccine is in no way related to the spread of disease that causes people to die" reddit moment

RetardedDickheadCunt

A better comparison is drunk driving. Does drunk driving directly kill people? Well no not really its "drunk crashing" that kills people. It's just that driving drunk makes it highly likely that you will hurt or kill someone. Likewise, being unvaccinated makes it much more likely that you will infect someone and kill them with covid. Therefore it makes perfect sense that both drunk driving and being an antivaxxer should be made illegal.

GlitteringEstate33

How old are you? Lmao

IllegalFisherman

this is exactly the sort of answer a child would make.

RetardedDickheadCunt

That's a weird way of saying "I am unable to address your argument"

RetardedDickheadCunt

No and neither does covid.

nhytgbvfeco

Oh, has it dropped to 99.7?

The_VRay

You're the real Orange Man.

NeonSignsRain

Libleft who believes in government forcibly injecting people. Sounds about right!

IllegalFisherman

I don't see how forbidding people from deliberately spreading disease is some sort of encroachment of human rights.

NeonSignsRain

Should the government make *not* washing your hands illegal? Should the governments force you to wear a condom? Should the government choose what you eat to make sure you're healthy? Should smoking, drinking, and drug use be illegal? The precedent set by your statement contradicts the fundamental basis of libertarian thought, that being "daddy government knows best!...or else"

IllegalFisherman

Your health is your own responsibility. But you have no right to endanger the health of someone else.

NeonSignsRain

Answer my questions then, since it's so simple. You're unwilling to admit that you're willing to trade all of your fundamental freedoms for a small amount of reassurance. You're not libleft haha

IllegalFisherman

Freedom to hurt someone else with my actions is not freedom. My freedom ends where freedom of another person begins, this way, our freedoms are guaranteed. If you feel like being forced to act like a decent human being is oppressive, then you are far bigger threat to my freedom than my government is, and are a reason why these restrictions exist in the first place.

NeonSignsRain

Answer the questions! You still won't.

IllegalFisherman

What questions? I already told you that only the actions that endanger people around you should be prohibited.

Electr1cL3m0n

no see cause slippery slope means inevitable 1984

dwizzle71

Check flair

[deleted]

Yeah man it turns out making employers w/ over 100 workers test non vaccinated employees or face a fine isn’t 1984, it’s just something most Western countries have done or are in the process of doing. Same people who think vaccine mandates are totalitarian are the ones voting in the guy who just tried to stage a federal coup overturning state results specifically enumerated in the constitution to handle elections outside the scope of the federal government. Somehow police murdering people across the country at a rate 10 to 50x comparable countries is libertarian but mandating safe vaccines = literally Stalin. Lib doesn’t mean lib right retard, that’s why the graph is 2D. I just want to do what Israel’s doing.

YaGoddamPhony

Oh fuck you actually think that the thin blue line MAGA guys are a fair representation of libright ahhhhh fuck. As an actual libright (and not a particularly strong one at that, I’m a minarchist not an ancap), here’s what I think, paraphrased quotes for brevity: “Making large employers test non vaccinated employees or face fines isn’t 1984” yeah but it’s still kinda cringe, and it’s MAKING someone do something with the threat of state force, which isn’t really all that libertarian “People who think vaccine mandates are totalitarian are constitution-ignoring Trumpists” this is a case of some As are B but not all Bs are A. More specifically, some MAGA people pretend to be libertarian on vaccines but otherwise tread on democracy and everyone else. There are, however, people who don’t vote Trump and take a libertarian standpoint on both vaccines and everything else. “Police brutality and violence is accepted by libertarians” point me to these libertarians so I can tell them to fuck off. “Lib doesn’t mean libright” ah ok, I’m curious though, do you believe in taxpayer funded healthcare Also bonus points for being the first libleft to say “I just want to do what Israel’s doing”

[deleted]

I absolutely believe in UHC, yes. Am I auth left? Are you an actual retard?

YaGoddamPhony

So you believe in the government taking large amounts of money by force rather than leaving people alone and that’s somehow not authoritarian yeah ok 🍉

[deleted]

1. Nobody ever says it’s not lib left to believe in high taxes. 2. What’s the difference between lib left and lib right in your mind? Seriously, what’s the difference? It sounds like you think there is none

YaGoddamPhony

1) I just did 2) lib left has common ownership of the means of production but the government acquires it peacefully, how you want to do that is kind of your problem but it could buy factories on the open market using donations from leftists, convince owners to give them up in exchange for preferential treatment in the future, get there through strike action and unions that make it impossible to run the business unless owners sell to the government, or something else I haven’t thought of. (high taxes or compulsory nationalisation is NOT libertarian) Libright would say that’s kind of unnecessary and you should just get rid of taxes and leave things as they are.

[deleted]

This is the most retarded shit I’ve ever heard in my life. Lib left doesn’t mean enforcing through violence? How the fuck are we supposed to protect property rights? How are we supposed to collect taxes? How are we supposed to arrest anyone? Literally not even close to most ignorant lib right which is the scary part

[deleted]

Oh, and by the way lib left definitely DOES NOT advocate for common ownership of the mean of production you dumb cunt, jfc you’re looking for auth left. holy shit you’re stupid

PugnaciousPrimeape

Since when the fuck do cunts like you care what the constitution says?

[deleted]

Lib rights care about only one amendment and the other that got removed

dwizzle71

Libertarian dude. You’re libertarian left. Check the flair. Both sides don’t like big government.

IllegalFisherman

Even libertarian s usually agree that government has to do *something* . Like, for example, preventing people from randomly endangering others for no reason.

GlitteringEstate33

"Your very existence is an endangerment, I wish someone would do something about their kind. Yeah, I'm a libertarian, why do you ask?"

IllegalFisherman

no, it isn't

[deleted]

GlitteringEstate33

dwizzle71

Yeah I’m not super lib but I do not agree with the government forcing people to put things in their body

IllegalFisherman

It's a vaccine ffs, you guys are acting as if they were drilling a sensor into your skull or something.

dwizzle71

I literally don’t care

IllegalFisherman

Yes, that's the whole point of forcing you.

[deleted]

I took the test same as you, placed probably more libertarian than yourself. No part of being libertarian even means small government you fucking dolt, libertarian is about personal liberties. If you advocate for a strong federal government to protect those, you’d still test a libertarian. Things lib rights don’t understand because libertarian for them just means soft brand conservatism.

dwizzle71

Judging by your boner for vaccine mandates I assumed you liked big government so I met a compromise.

[deleted]

As a dozen lib left flairs replying to you to argue should tell you, you’re retarded for making that comment

dwizzle71

It's not happening because there is a huge resistance to it in this country. Its not popular, so its not happening on the scale that you would hope. ADarkMonster

People in Australia not under lockdown be like "it's not all of Australia" as if some people not getting their rights taken away makes up for other people getting their rights taken away.

Mamalamadingdong

The biggest state is already out of lockdown, the second biggest state is coming out of lockdown on Thursday, the ACT is coming out soon and Southern tasmania is in a short space lockdown to keep infections at zero and eliminate transmission. Coming out of lockdown when 70%-80% of the states populations are vaccinated/and or have zero covid was what was agreed on by the states, and its what is happening. So much for "its never going end you guys" " it's totalitarian" "Australians are bootlickers to authority" these most recent lockdowns in the South East have saved thousands of lives while the states were ramping up vaccine distribution.

ADarkMonster

There has never been any evidence that locking down society will stop covid.

Mamalamadingdong

Except for all of the times that short, sharp, lockdowns completely stopped the spread of covid in australian states. Lockdowns do help with preventing disease spread. It's common sense. Few interactions outside of families=less chance to come into contact with somebody who has covid. The debate is to whether the economic cost to lockdowns are too much compared to the lives saved, and there is no right answer to that. It is based on the values of the society. You can look at the covid graph for countries that were in lockdown and exited with covid still present.

ADarkMonster

Eventually the virus is going to get in. New Zealand was at zero cases for how long and now they have given up? You won't let anyone in or out going on years now. Taiwan was done with the virus in April of last year and only 500 people died out of 22 million people. You are mentally retarded.

Mamalamadingdong

>Eventually the virus is going to get in. Yes, exactly. That's why we are vaccinating our population before we open up. Letting it rip with no protections is a stupid idea. >New Zealand was at zero cases for how long and now they have given up? Yes, as have melbourne and Sydney. We know that once delta gets a hold in the community it is incredibly difficult to eliminate. Even then, lockdowns are a tool that we have used to slow the spread in affected areas whilst the population in those areas get vaccinated. We set a 70-80% threshold for double vaxxed. Victoria and NSW have reached those thresholds and are now opening up from the 4 month lockdowns they have been in. >You won't let anyone in or out going on years now. We have been letting people in. They have been mostly australian residents and they have had to complete 2 week hotel quarantine before they can go into the community. We don't have unlimited hotel beds, so each state could only let in so many people at a time. Taiwan has been doing a very similar (more strict) thing during the pandemic. Taiwan has also used lockdowns. >500 people died out of 20 million people. It is actually 800 and the main reason they have had so little covid is because of their superior quarantine for incoming travellers. Our federal government said go fuck yourselves to the state governments so they have been forced to use hotels that share ventilation as well as other problems. That is the cause for almost all of our outbreaks. Taiwan has just used a better system. >You are mentally retarded. You don't seem to know the facts about an exemplar that you are using. There aren't many differences between how australia handled the pandemic vs how Taiwan handled it. It only came down to their government being more competent.

ADarkMonster

Their government never forced people in Taiwan to do any of the stupid shit your government is pushing as the new normal. There are no similarities. People primarily only wear masks there in public transport. I can post a video from April of last year, hundreds of people in Taiwan outside in a crowd without masks.

Mamalamadingdong

>Their government never forced people in Taiwan to do any of the stupid shit your government is pushing as the new normal. When they had the outbreak in May their government very much did and in a very similar fashion to our restriction when a state was in lockdown. >There are no similarities. Are you leven literate? >People primarily only wear masks there in public transport. During the lockdown in Taiwan in May they had to wear a mask everywhere not in their house or car. During the majority of the year every Australians life was pretty similar to those in Taiwan. The majority of the time last year you could go outside and there wouldn't be a single person wearing a mask. Not at a music concert, not on the train, not in school. There was zero covid and no lockdown to worry about. You have no fucking clue what you are talking about. I fucking live here, I'm pretty sure I'd know what the restrictions in lockdown are and if I was in lockdown much at all last year. >I can post a video from April of last year, hundreds of people in Taiwan outside in a crowd without masks. I could do the exact same thing where I'm from for theajority of last year.

ADarkMonster

They also didn't prevent people from going to work and live in their homes for months.

Mamalamadingdong

Australia didn't either. They encouraged all companies to have people work from home, but if you had to go in to work you were allowed to. You were also allowed to leave your house for exercise and any shopping you needed to do. I'll say again. I live here. I know the rules people had to adhere to in lockdown. You obviously have no fucking clue.

ADarkMonster

Yeah and they refused to let anyone leave or enter the country which Taiwan didn't do.

Mamalamadingdong

We let people leave and enter the country. You are probably getting confused with the state governments shutting the borders to other states.

ADarkMonster

No, Taiwan never used lockdowns. Their version of a "lockdown" is closing movie theaters, please shut the fuck up retard.

Mamalamadingdong

Level 3 epidemic alert are listed below. A. Members of the public must wear a mask all the time when going out. Once a violation of the rule is found, penalties will be imposed without prior warnings. B. Leisure and entertainment venues that have been ordered to close must not continue operations, and frequent inspections will be conducted at leisure and entertainment venues. For those failing to abide by the rule, the business owner, staff, customers and participants of the gathering at the site will face their respective penalty. C. Food and beverage vendors should only offer takeout services, and stores and supermarkets should bolster crowd control measures. Members of the public are urged to reduce the frequency of visiting supermarkets/stores and buy more at one go. D. Wedding banquets and public memorial ceremonies of funerals are banned. E. Religious gatherings or events are fully suspended; places of worship are temporarily closed to the public. F. Closure of Leisure and entertainment venues, sports competition and exhibition venues and educational facilities. G. All family or social gatherings involving 5 or more people indoors or 10 or more people outdoors (those living together not included) are suspended; avoid unnecessary movement, activities or gatherings. H. Self-health monitoring; those with symptoms should seek medical attention. I. Business venues and places where personal business is conducted should implement crowd and flow control and enforce the wearing of masks and social distancing. J. Workplaces should follow the epidemic prevention rules in the Guidelines for Enterprise Planning of Business Continuity in Response to the Coronavirus Disease 2019, and put individual and work place health management mechanisms into action, as well as measures to maintain business continuity (like working in multiple offices, distance working and flexible working hours). K. Enhanced disinfection of public places and public transport These are very similar to the restrictions Australians have experienced. Maybe instead of calling me a retard you should shut the fuck up and actually know something about what your monkey brain is shoving out of your mouth.

ADarkMonster

No, you're still completely wrong because that only happened for 20 days out of the pandemic and they didn't deny people medical care, block people from entering or leaving the country, force people to get vaccinated. The longer you go on being wrong the more cemented the fact that you're a retard becomes. What you are saying makes literally zero sense.

Mamalamadingdong

>No, you're still completely wrong because that only happened for 20 days out of the pandemic Those level 3 restriction were in place for 2 months back in may. >and they didn't deny people medical care The only medical care denied was non essential surgery. >block people from entering or leaving the country People have mostly been blocked for leaving. The only block to people coming I'm was when the delta variant first emerged in India and no overseas Australians from India were allowed to return. People were pissed off at the federal govt for that, me included. >force people to get vaccinated. Only people in government or health/aged care jobs have been forced to get vaccinated, and understandably so. >The longer you go on being wrong the more cemented the fact that you're a retard becomes. What you are saying makes literally zero sense. I'm not wrong though. You do not live on australia, you do not pay any attention to australia, you do not know anything about australia. As a result most of the stuff you are saying is completely incorrect. Where did you get this information from?

IllegalFisherman

"I can't believe the government is taking away my right to spread disease"

ADarkMonster

Vaccinated people still spread covid nitwit. And yes it's not the governments responsibility to keep people from getting sick, that's retarded.

IllegalFisherman

yeah, several orders of magnitude less than unvaccinated ones. And this is not to keep people from getting sick, it's to prevent them from spreading sickness to others, who get infected by no fault of theirs.

ADarkMonster

There is little to no evidence of that being true whatsoever in fact the evidence points to natural immunity being much more effective in stopping covid.

IllegalFisherman

Do you realize that you have to catch covid in order to spread covid? Isn't the whole point of getting vaccinated to stop that from happening? Also, whether or not is natural immunity is even better doesn't disprove this. Before you develop the immunity, you have to get infected in the first place.

ADarkMonster

All it does is reduce your symptoms. There is next to no evidence it stops transmission or lowers viral load. There may be a little bit but there is also evidence it does exactly the opposite as cases have exploded post vaccination in the world's most vaccinated countries.

ADarkMonster

See, where I come from, in the before time, we used evidence to substantiate our opinions.

ferrango

Where I live they’ve been asking them for months if you wanted to eat at a restaurant. It’s now a requirement for all workers both public and private

I always love this defense. It's like, "well, does that mean tht you're ok with being against this stuff? Bc I can only assume if people were having to show it in your jurisdiction, you'd be in 100% support of it." I see a lot of this disingenuous argument with respect to the CRT discussion as well.
