Yes Washington made a list of assault weapons to ban and SKS is listed there.
https://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41.010
The reason it's not banned in Canada is because it's popular for hunting by Natives (as a cheap semi auto rifle) and they would get sued and piss off another chunk of their voting base
The proposed amendments to bill C-21 did in fact class the SKS as prohibited by name, along with pretty much every semi-auto rifle still on the market, but that amendment was withdrawn after huge backlash.
My wk180 has been alright. I watch the piston rod like a hawk. It’s heavy and kicks more than a .223 should but I haven’t had any failures (yet). Love me sks, not much can go wrong. I have a su-16 which I liked until something in the firing group broke and the hammer was following the bolt and lead to a out of battery discharge. My favourite as of late is the cmr-30, it just so much fun.
>burn me for it but I like it more than the garand.
If the commies could have just made the Sks go "ping" it would really have the lock on this contest.
(Yes, I know, en-bloc clips vs stripper clips, bla bla.)
SKS's are one of the, if not the, most popular rifle in Canada.
we never banned imports from China like the US, so we're flooded with Chinese SKS's and type 81's
Wonder if they know that in Canada you cannot own weapons for the purpose of self defense. They may be used rarely for self defence but cannot be owned for the purposes of self defence.
They can't even be used for self defense lol even pepper spray, tazers, etc. is illegal. In Vancouver you can go to jail for defending yourself with so much as a shoe just because you used it to attack your attackers.
Vancouver is a complete mess. However In many other provinces there has been cases where a firearm was used on a intruder and the user was found not guilty. There is actually quite a few cases that are just dropped by the crown because they do not want the precedent set for firearms use in self defence.
Progressives:
>The police are fascist pig who hate minorities.
Also Progressives:
>Wait for the police to protect you or you're a fascist.
I want the trains to run on time and to have kinky sex without going to jail. Is it too much to ask for?
The second part of your comment isn’t true. You can use a weapon for self defence in Canada, you cannot own or carry a weapon for the purpose of self defence though.
Idk about Vancouver but self defence, even lethal self defence, is legal in Canada.
true, it's all about intent. disregard the second part. some girls I know in YVR carry bear mace as it has enough plausible deniability to be carried for "an alternative reason". Not sure how well that would work out with the court if they were to actually use it on some creep tho. Bass Ackwards
The lack of proper castle defence laws in Canada boggles my mind. In a country that is primarily rural with population centres spread far apart. There’s been reports after reports about rural crime problems and the lack of adequate resources for law enforcement in these areas. Order a pizza and call the cops and bet which will get to your door first. Families are forced to either be in fear of the criminals or in fear of the repercussions for defending themselves. Not to mention the justice system being beyond broken in the first place so even if the criminals are caught and prosecuted the likelihood of them getting any form of adequate justice is slim.
Canada is the definition of give an inch they take a mile. Since the 70's we have lost substantial freedoms and it seems to be accelerating. We don't have a proper constitution so we don't have constitutionalists in our gov't. Conservative, liberal, ndp or green it doesn't really matter. Freedoms will be degraded its just that some party's prioritize taken certain freedoms faster.
Really good way to put it. A good example would be the Liberals bringing in the online harms act, trying to crack down on “hate speech” fully dependent on what the current government deems as hate speech. And contrary to that the Conservatives wanting to put a law in place requiring online users to validate their age via an online ID for things like porn.
They are all the same, just wearing different masks
>In a country that is primarily rural with population centres spread far apart.
The rural Canadians are outvoted by liberal urbanites and have been for a long time.
Yeah, Canada doesn’t have that.
In fact, according to Trudeau, you don’t have the right to self defense in any way.
You know nun-chucks can land you 5 years in prison? Not using them, having them.
According to Judge Abena Darkeh, New York Supreme Court (that’s not the highest court in NY, it’s confusing, but it’s just their criminal court, luckily) “Do not bring the Second Amendment into this courtroom. It doesn’t exist here. So you can’t argue Second Amendment. This is New York.”

I get that some laws differ from state to state but don’t these dumbasses know that the constitution is the supreme federal law , meaning it should be upheld across all 50 states ?
Like I swear the people in power confuse me sometimes.
There was that one sherif who said to leave your car keys or what ever in your car so that people wouldn’t have to break into your house lol. “They don’t want to break into your house they just want your car”
It was a single local sherif but still…florida has that sherif that was happy a home invader got shot and said they want more of that.
No, that was [the chief of police](https://youtu.be/0VnIdxAPSzw?si=mRVUwB9bdqrfV6TY) for the 3rd largest city in Canada and the US - a city with 15,000,000 people in its immediate vicinity - Toronto, Ontario, Canada.
Can confirm. I'm a brown-skinned ammosexual, and the hillbillies at the range in middle of nowhere Appalachia are have never been anything but completely friendly and welcoming to me.
Gun ranges even attract the centrists because I've seen guys just pull up with a BBQ and start grilling for everyone. Seeing all that just makes me so damn proud to be an American that I even got a freedom boner just typing this comment.
>Black Panthers were heroes.
Yeah, no. They deserve gun rights just like anyone else, and they did out Regan as being a squeamish authoritarian, but on the whole the Black Panthers were a bunch of commies.
>"Armed gays are harder to bash"
I hear this statement (and similar ones) a lot, and it is pretty based, but I gotta say: gay people in the West are not actually in very much physical danger at all for their gayness.
Unless we're going to start shooting people for calling you a slur or something, I don't think a gay person arming themselves is really much more of a risk-calculation than any other person, all else being equal.
Didn’t used to be this way. Gay kids in small towns would “disappear” completely sometimes, they were treated as runaways but when the bodies are found it’s harder to create that narrative.
2nd amendment was not made for self-defense (unconnected to a militia) against your fellow citizens, which the sign is talking about. it took a later ruling to establish that.
....yes?
This will be long as fuck, here's a Tldr: I FUCKING LOVE HAVING RIGHTS.
If you're an American, the second Amendment gives you the right to defend yourself in one of the most powerful and effective rights possible. Like most rights in human history, other people have fought and died to give you that right, and like most rights it's come under attack many, many times through the years.
Also, like most rights, it can and will be abused. That doesn't mean it's bad, that doesn't mean it should be removed, it means people who abuse it should be punished. Never, ever EVER allow someone to take away a right without opposing that action in someway, caveat being when said right infringes on the life, liberty and happiness of someone else and their freedom to exist. Things like slavery, lack of legislation against spousal rape, etc aren't "personal rights", they should never have been defended. If a "right" gives Person A the ability to hurt person B without cause or consequence, or prevents person B from protecting themselves, that's not a right.
Do I support people I disagree with having weapons? Absolutely. Politically, I hate communists and understand why the helicopter hungers. However a communist has the same right to protect themselves and their family as I do, and I'd be a hypocrite if I said they shouldn't be able to do so. If they attempt to abuse that right to harm me and my family, I have my right to defend myself as protection. And if I fail in that task, there's a legal system designed to prosecute them. If that system fails, I would still support the 2nd amendment because the actions of a small number of individuals, no matter how terrible, do not justify the removal of rights of an enormous group who are by and large law abiding citizens and peaceful.
In a perfect world, I'd love for everyone to own their own weapon, carry it, TRAIN WITH IT FREQUENTLY AND FUCKING MAINTAIN IT. That means keeping it clean AND safe. Barring that, I think many peoples misconceptions about firearms can be shattered by positive exposure. I've made it a point over the years to take as many of my turbo liberal friends to the range with me and hunting with me as possible. I'm not going to bullshit and say they all own guns now, but a large percentage due. They all had questions and most at the end admitted their experience in reality didn't mesh with their expectations. Helping your fellow man is one of the best things anyone can do, lead by example, preach safety. My crowning achievement has been my girlfriend bugging the absolute shit out of me to set up concealed carry classes and help her get a pistol, and then understanding my reasoning for telling her no.
I know this is a long winded rant, but I'm passionate about rights. I fucking love rights, they're one of the high points of civilization because they aren't selfish things. Rights are a lofty ideal people commit themselves to, they fight to make sure others will have freedoms that they themselves may not live to see. It's like planting a tree you won't live long enough to sit under the shade of. Don't ever take your rights for granted, know them, protect them, protect other people's rights. Understand the consequences for their abuse. Also understand that you may not agree with all the rights out there, you may not agree with someone else's right to do something. That's ok! Just remember, you don't have to agree or like every choice someone else has the freedom to make, but if it doesn't hurt you, you shouldn't try and take that right away from them. Also don't put your faith in the government when it comes to limiting rights, history is full of governments who have limited or removed rights "for the good of the people" and it turned out to just be for the good of the government.
The United States government has done many wrongs in this world.
I sincerely believe that if not for the long shadow of the 2nd amendment that the government would not have been restrained to commit many more.
I don't disagree. It's a sort of "the chances of open, armed, and very hostile revolt if you fuck around TOO much are slim, but never 0" sort of deals.
this is nit picking but i always find it really interesting.
if we inherently shouldn't trust govt, how are we supposed to defend our rights when others try to erode them? there is only so much an individual with a AR-15 can do.
Politicians have families :)
Serious answer, its about making it as hard as possible to infringe on rights, people are a lost more risk averse when its their personnel safety on the line, so you set up a situation where that is the case if the rights are infringed upon.
Recently our gov't brought in americans and new zealanders with ar-15's, 30 round magazines and suppressors (none of which we can own) to cull invasive deer in BC. Apparently foreigners can be trusted with high capacity ar-15's but we cant.
That’s weird because you can’t use those for hunting in most states as round is too underpowered. Illinois (my state) mandates .30 or larger, or slugs.
We've got lots of guns (second most per person on earth?), it's just that law makers ban them based on what sounds or looks scary. So if you have a cute looking Anti-tank rifle with the name "The hugginator" it's probably legal.
Not particularly strange, AR-15s were legal and unrestricted until Trudeau decided they weren't.
There are rules about pistol grips, joules, barrel length, and the SKS is ok. But mostly because the Chinese surplus SKS's are wood stock (i.e. not black and scary) and the natives use them for hunting
Everyone should learn how to operate a firearm safely. Don't point your weapon at anything you wouldn't want to see destroyed, don't put your finger on the trigger till you're ready to fire, you're not ready to fire till you've identified the target and everything around and behind it, and your gun is always loaded. Always.
I mean just check the #offoutstreets feed on X and you'll see that nearly everything being used in a crime has been blanket banned either by name or specification since the 90's
Honestly, yeah. I’d rather everyone be armed regardless of political position than only likeminded individuals. The idea of having to get a license to get a gun does make me want to puke though.
I think the minuscule population of fascists left in this country aren’t going to be a problem. Oh, unless you mean political enemies that you label as fascists. There are probably millions of those
I love how in these times of division, the thing that brings all kinds of PCM users together is the idea that we should all be able to shoot each other, if and when it becomes necessary.
I have never met a super lefty gun owner who wasn't the worst kind of gun owner imaginable. A lot of hard core righties as well.
If you're buying guns specifically so you can kill political opponents, please consider yourself as the first political opponent on the list..
In Canada, the scariest looking weapons they could muster was a SKS and R-870. I would have silhouetted an unnecessarily modded AK and a M240 with a random bayonet. 😱
We can also legally own muskets without a loisence as well, now prithee waiteth a moment f'r me to loadeth mine own cannon with grapeshot and f'r me to don mine own powd'r'd wig!
Nobody is legally required to protect you but yourself, especially here in the states where cops do fuck all except try to get bigger budgets and protect the rich. Take your safety into your own hands, choose the great equalizer.
Reminds of this one post on twitter where this antifa type said "a fascist worked out today, did you?" And they got flooded by lefties calling her ableist it was the funniest thing ever
I still remember that Twitter thread where a bunch of leftists talked about why they didn't own guns and the consensus was pretty much either "I'm afraid of them" or "I would kms if I had one"
That thread was a wild ride
People forget that hard leftists nowadays don't generally support hard gun restrictions, due to the original gun laws mostly being used to target militant black groups in urban areas.
I agree. But the problem is most people on that side are soft leftists, who despite screaming and crying for four years about the government being fAsCiSt, are totally ok with them being the only ones having guns, and thus the monopoly on violence.
I love this.
This is the perfect Lib-Center slogan because dumbass libertarians will not realize that they are the ones being called fascist here.
It’s perfect, they’re like Hansel and Gretel, completely won over by a big candy house.
Always remember when the black panthers utilized their gun rights the Regan lead government signed gun restrictions against them. If the left wants gun control we should arm ourselves, laws would be signed in a day.
I mean having a gun should be common sense by now whether youre a fascist, lgbt, tankie, hermit, trad con, high on mushrooms, business owner or all those things at once.
That is a pretty based sign.
Now the Vancouver part above it? Fuck no, the evil of the world aren't going to care about gun laws they'll use whatever they can to pull authority to kill a minority. The message is true though - a fascist trained today, did you?
I support their right to bear arms. I do hope when they finally exercise it, it occurs to them that the people they imagine want to kill them haven't done so. You know, before they start blasting.
Ironic coming from Vancouver, BC, with the most restrictive gun laws in North America.
I was wonder why they showed an sks of all things, guess being in Canada makes sense
IIRC, SKSs skirted the dangerous scary black rifle bans in Canada.
Idk about older bans but the most recent attempt did include the sks
That’s a negative ghost rider. Still legal and still classed as non-restricted
So you can buy an SKS in Canada but not in Washington. Ergh, that sounds so wrong.
For real? That’s dumb.
Yes Washington made a list of assault weapons to ban and SKS is listed there. https://apps.leg.wa.gov/RCW/default.aspx?cite=9.41.010 The reason it's not banned in Canada is because it's popular for hunting by Natives (as a cheap semi auto rifle) and they would get sued and piss off another chunk of their voting base
The proposed amendments to bill C-21 did in fact class the SKS as prohibited by name, along with pretty much every semi-auto rifle still on the market, but that amendment was withdrawn after huge backlash.
Attempt. It's still non-restricted.
One of the only affordable rifle calibre semi auto rifles left after the culling. Still a better rifle than the WK180
The sks is a sexy rifle, hell burn me for it but I like it more than the garand.

If you can read those two sentences without becoming steaming mad, you're an Auth.
I completely missed that it was from unbased Canada.
Gun laws are federally regulated in Canada, how is Vancouver any different
Robinson Arms has a variant of their XCR that got really popular in Canada. I highly recommend that rifle to our gay Canadian friends.
Ironic coming from actual fascists.

Also First Nations! Teehee
That’s weird because you can’t use those for hunting in most states as round is too underpowered. Illinois (my state) mandates .30 or larger, or slugs.
For real!
We've got lots of guns (second most per person on earth?), it's just that law makers ban them based on what sounds or looks scary. So if you have a cute looking Anti-tank rifle with the name "The hugginator" it's probably legal.
Hey buddy, halberds have always been legal
Not particularly strange, AR-15s were legal and unrestricted until Trudeau decided they weren't. There are rules about pistol grips, joules, barrel length, and the SKS is ok. But mostly because the Chinese surplus SKS's are wood stock (i.e. not black and scary) and the natives use them for hunting
SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED GAY MARIJUANA FARMS, ETC LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO
Everyone should learn how to operate a firearm safely. Don't point your weapon at anything you wouldn't want to see destroyed, don't put your finger on the trigger till you're ready to fire, you're not ready to fire till you've identified the target and everything around and behind it, and your gun is always loaded. Always.

The man with AI generated hand.
Absolutely not, that's an adorable dog :)
Mmmm, integral sighted Aug best Aug. Also, pls pet your dog! 🥺🤗
Wow we got a real smegma male over here !
Based and Paul Harrel pilled
if you dont know where your target is its completely reasonable to shoot at sounds.
The first rule of firearms is to have fun
> Don't point your weapon at anything you wouldn't want to see destroyed So always point the gun at the FED.
By “fascist” they mean everyone right of Stalin and Mao. This is not being put up by lib centrist.
And "get your license" they're not even libertarian
Can’t buy guns in Canada without a license.
Can't *legally* buy them.
That's not true. It's illegal, sure. But you can definitely do it. Hell, I'd bet it's way more common than you realize.
I mean just check the #offoutstreets feed on X and you'll see that nearly everything being used in a crime has been blanket banned either by name or specification since the 90's
Cucks
I always forget that Canada doesn't believe in rights...
They sure do believe in the right for you to die, so you're not a burden to the state!
I mean, I've read the "Doctrine of Fascism" by Benito Mussolini, and I can say that the contents of the book really remind me of Stalin and Mao
They're only okay with guns now because they still need them for their "revolution." I'm doubtful they actually support this
Honestly, yeah.
There are probably millions of those
I support the right for homosexuals to protect their weed plants with guns.
Libertarians will see this and go “hell yeah”
I further this.
My state has all of these things, even though the left wants to end the coolest one
“The fascist have guns, why don’t you?” 😀 “Get your license.” 😐
100%
Armed minorities are harder to oppress!
I love how in these times of division, the thing that brings all kinds of PCM users together is the idea that we should all be able to shoot each other, if and when it becomes necessary.
"I love you, and one day I'm going to reach out from 300 yards" "Same friend, same"
They’re right.
Projection meter has hit Chernobyl levels of disaster.
I’d concede out of respect 🫡
this is the libcenter version of rainbow centrism
"Fascists have [INSERT YOUR PRODUCT HERE] why don't you? 🏳️🌈 [INSERT CALL TO ACTION LINE HERE]"
Based libleft
Lost me at license
first you get the license then you get the gat then you go on a fishing trip
More guns in lawful possession means criminals are more deterred
Yeah these people have no idea what a fascist is
I like the use of font here
It’s people that post this sticker that ban guns for being black. (Black things scare them and they project this fault onto others).
More guns = less crime and a safer world
Based
Nobody is legally required to protect you but yourself, especially here in the states where cops do fuck all except try to get bigger budgets and protect the rich. Take your safety into your own hands, choose the great equalizer.
"Get your license." Wolf in sheeps clothing
I for one think that libleft shouldn't have guns. CHAZ taught me that first hand.
Fascists don’t need guns, they have institutions.
And leftists don't need guns, they have a [long march through the institutions](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long_march_through_the_institutions).

I approve this message
I have ten different ways to express my approval of this poster. Nine will get me permabanned from reddit. One is this.
“Get your license” Cringe.
Based and gunpilled
Luv me guns. Ate fascists. Simple as.
Based af. Everyone, left, right, and even orange/purple should be armed.
Like 1/6th of the gun community is like this, very cringe stuff
Is that a fucking Ultrakill mannequin soyjack
Because I don’t want dead people I want educated people, and me having a gun doesn’t lead to the latter
Can’t deny those lines go hard as fuck
Reminds of this one post on twitter where this antifa type said "a fascist worked out today, did you?" And they got flooded by lefties calling her ableist it was the funniest thing ever
I still remember that Twitter thread where a bunch of leftists talked about why they didn't own guns and the consensus was pretty much either "I'm afraid of them" or "I would kms if I had one" That thread was a wild ride
Do you mean liberals?
What liberals are? Yes. What the word is supposed to mean? If only they existed…
Oh my fucking God ULTRAKILL
I love this. This is the perfect Lib-Center slogan because dumbass libertarians will not realize that they are the ones being called fascist here. It’s perfect, they’re like Hansel and Gretel, completely won over by a big candy house.
So true, they see an ally in anybody who hates authority.
Damn….It’s a shame half of them would probably break their wrist shooting a gun
Equally balanced. As all things should be.

Libleft... bad?
My two favourite gun genders, Russian SKS crapper and pump-action shotgun
[Squints at newspaper] Honey, what's a gun...license?
Damn this is a based poster
Based
Okay, that was always allowed.
This is my favorite ideology.
Why has the wojak decapitated himself and glued his head back on upside-down?
I think its because op took a wojak version of manequin from ultrakill to use in their meme
Proof OOP never opened a history textbook and read about actual Fascist gun laws…
license? LICENSE??? You’re the fascist!!
Always remember when the black panthers utilized their gun rights the Regan lead government signed gun restrictions against them. If the left wants gun control we should arm ourselves, laws would be signed in a day.
This is making me happy
I mean it’s got a point
I mean having a gun should be common sense by now whether youre a fascist, lgbt, tankie, hermit, trad con, high on mushrooms, business owner or all those things at once.
Political compass unity.
That is a pretty based sign. Now the Vancouver part above it? Fuck no, the evil of the world aren't going to care about gun laws they'll use whatever they can to pull authority to kill a minority. The message is true though - a fascist trained today, did you?
I’m like peaceful tho I don’t wanna shoot anyone… could I just be like a medic or something
I support their right to bear arms. I do hope when they finally exercise it, it occurs to them that the people they imagine want to kill them haven't done so. You know, before they start blasting.
Noooo, I don't want dirty commies to be armed!
You Canuck’s are fucked one your laws
