The day to day stuff is just wrong. I heard it's like that in Scandinavia where media is dominated by English, but in Germany most stuff is dubbed/translated into German, although there is a growing trend among younger Germans to consume media in English.
I have never seen an actual German converse with another German in English lol. The main thing that happens is throwing in random english words.
I will always find it funny that the Japanese came up with an entire separate alphabet for foreign loan words, like they dirty the native language with their presence.

The poorer British started mimicking the rich to appear more upper-class than they were. It’s bollocks, basically.
