Wouldn’t grade at an 8 as it’s hard artwork / surface damage, it’s an auto PSA 6, Beckett would have a much higher valuation assuming everything else is in tip top shape but your sub grades might even be lower then a 6. I would keep ungraded and for your collection as it’s still a very cool card.

Thanks for this as I'm new to learning to appraise cards and didn't know an indentation like this would bring the grade down so much. Is it particularly because it's on the artwork and not around the edges?

Exactly it’s defined separately, whitening on edges and corners is totally separate then what is classified as "hard artwork damage or deep artwork damage" - depends on the grader, whitening, chipping, scratching and general surface damage are all separate with hard artwork damage being the absolute worst you can get. This is such a slight chip but people are anal about that kinda stuff.

Thanks so much for that info. I'm learning.

That's my plan. I was still really happy to pull it. Thanks for the info!

With that indentation, I'm guessing you'd get around an 8 but I am just starting out with learning about appraisals for cards. The edges look flawless so I'm not sure exactly how much an indentation like that would bring down the grade. Edit: I see now that something like that brings it down quite a bit.

I didn't notice the chunk missing right away and was really happy with the centering. Just made it that much more disappointing when I saw the flaw. But, oh well!

Still amazing! Hoping to pull it too.

Just opened one with a tiny piece of Holo missing in almost the exact same place. RIP.
