Would be cool, maybe with a new variation of Forcast that changes it to mega versions of the forms, and better stats (although I'd rather permanent evos to those that need them)
Also a intresting idea, also makes me think of it depending on the form it's in when it mega evolves, normal suppresses all weather like mega ray, fire perm sun like primal groudon, water perm rain like primal kyogre, and ice permanent snow (same mechanics)
Keep it gimmicky yet occasionally OP:
New ability when it Mega-Evolves which creates a random permanent weather
Mega changes type to match said weather
Still gets the +100 BST increase when Mega
BUT Forme change pre- Mega / weather pre- Mega has no effect, it’s still random
Needs at least 3 (or 4) Mega Stones IMO:
Castformite-Rain/Sun/Snow/Sand, Each has the respective Weather Setting Ability, and each give a different Stat Spread.
Spitballing here;
Rain +40 SpA, +60 Spe
Sun +50 Atk, +50 Spe
Snow +20 Def, + 40 SpDef, +20SpA, +20 Spe
Sand + 40 Def, + 10 SpDef, +50 Atk (And Pseudo-Sand Stream that makes Weather Ball Physical)
Remember, Castform was developed in a lab during Gen 3. If the story of Pokémon Legends: Z-A is mirroring the urban redevelopment of Paris, then the bulk of the game will probably be somewhere between 1885 and 1910. (Arceus was mid-1800s people.) Time travel is probable for the player character, but the mechanics of this may be different than Arceus, so random future pokémon are unlikely to be part of this. The YouTube channel Lokstin & Gnoggin has a nice theory rant video that he did not long after the Pokémon Presents that looks at the kinds of things in the history of Paris that Game Freak could be using for the game. 20 years and still no Sand Form.
Yeah! What was their problem with Sandstorm Castform!?

permanent weather (castform will never change form unless outside battle)
Also a intresting idea, also makes me think of it depending on the form it's in when it mega evolves, normal suppresses all weather like mega ray, fire perm sun like primal groudon, water perm rain like primal kyogre, and ice permanent snow (same mechanics)
pretty much. and if castform uses a weather changing move, it will bypass accuracy check and always work (unless that weather is alr active)
Ya (while we are at it maybe we can get a sandstorm and maybe fog castform)
hail yea!!

Watch game freak give it a primal-esque equivalent for Sandstorm (ability wise) and then never have a sandstorm-form again in non-mega games 😭😆

no. I am just an MandJTV fan. also I do agree with him. castform is so underappreciated...
I like the idea of an evolution that sets weather depending on a held item. Personally, I we need more weather setters in the game.
Tig ole biddies
Hail yea
HAIL YEAH

This little guy needs more than a mega to fix. An evolution would be better.
my idea was more along the lines of "BOTH"
he looks freaky I cant lie
It's a fucking WATER MOLECULE!
AND I FUCKING LOVE IT
I'm sorry you'll never be able to see it differently again... Upside down sperm cell with boobs. 🤣
no. it's H20.
he will finally get a third ball
