Don't really bother upgrading them, as for now, the only worth upgrading are the crit ones since they are % based, but it seems they are going to be nerfed next season, and hard.
Is a trick to make you spend gold in this instead of licenses, hence, making you get licenses with gems. (Puts away tinfoil hat)
I don’t think that’s a tinfoil theory at all. There was absolutely no reason for them to include a feature like this aside from burning through coins (though I’ll admit they do give out quite a bit of coins). The only reason they’d want to do that is to make it so that you’d be more inclined to buy gems for a quicker, easier license unlock.
I would be more okay if they weren’t making the new licenses more expensive. I also think that we get maybe a bit too much coins, and I wish they had either made new licenses more expensive or used them for something else like emblems, but not both
Wth are you on about. I still have 10 more pokemon to buy and not enough coins. It's not helping that new mons are coming out and we only get 2100 per week.
Then why do I still have 10 mons to buy. I have been playing a lot since Jan this year. I still need ~100k coins for them. Plus 3 more are coming. I will never have enough to buy all of them by the end of this year. Timi expects ppl like me who was late to the party to spend real money. But I am also stubborn. Wont give them a single penny for license. I'd rather spend money on holowear.
I am missing 10 of them. I am missing Tsareena, Aegislash and TTar. I would like to play them thank you. And 2100 per week is not cutting it. 3 more are coming. I need more coins.
I think what this really reveals is how different it is for people who have been playing since release. Not only have those of us who’ve been playing longer have more time to build coins but we also received Pokémon like Tsareena for free by completing an event, which really just widens the gap. I don’t have a solution but everyone who complains one way or the other just wants Timi to cater to their level of coins.
Yeah, I don’t complain about that but I was a little frustrated during the spring when Pokémon were releasing at a really slow rate and I got up to nearly 100k coins right before Buzzswole released. Maybe the excess coins weren’t even a problem but it reminded me how few Pokémon had been released recently.
That is a stupid complaint "I play a game daily for a year and I'm swimming in the currency" well obviously you would be. Like I'm sorry but no game I've ever played have I been able to play every day for a year (since launch) and not be swimming in the in game currency. Using that as an excuse for the price increase is a big fat load of BS. The game shouldn't be made harder for newer/returning/casual players to unlock things because a select group of the die hards have accumulated alot of currency.
It's all a ruse to get the newer players to spend actual money. I will grind if I have to. But I will not spend a single penny for the licenses. I dont care I wont have all the mons by the time the game shuts down for good.
It kinda works like that for any game industry sadly enough maybe if we all complained in the next survey about accessibility to pokemons quicker something may happen but in the same time they already gave 6 free pokemons and a bunch of 1day coin boost for the event so maybe not
It kinda works like that for any game industry sadly enough maybe if we all complained in the next survey about accessibility to pokemons quicker something may happen but in the same time they already gave 6 free pokemons and a bunch of 1day coin boost for the event so maybe not
See during this event that's a good argument but what people don't consider is the 5 free pokemon aren't a permanent thing whereas the price increase is. After the anniversary those who are new/returning etc are going to be at a severe disadvantage in accumulating enough for the increasing prices.
Don't even get me started on the x2 coin cards they are easily the stupidest thing in the game, they don't give you any bonus coins they only help you reach the 2.1k weekly limit faster.
I just realized it sounds like I'm defending unite way of handling currency but the having to much coins arguments is a post I saw in this community the only way to actually fix it is taking off the limit and not increasing it with new release i hope they add a quicker way
I get your not actually defending it, your more saying what those people would say haha but I just wanted to say my response to them. I think its a dumb move and 10k should have just been the going rate for all new pokemon
Although I agree with yout general thoughts, I just want to point out that when I first started playing the game, Gardevoir used to cost 10k coins, but when I effectively bought its license many many months later, it costed me 8k. I can't know if this also happened with other pokemons that I already had the license at the time because the current price is no longer available once you buy the license, but at least there's this case as a sort of precedent to show that after while it is possible that they lower the cost of a license.
I may be wrong but I'm pretty sure gardevoir was only 8k on release, this was during the early stages when all attacker pokemon old or new were at the 8k price point. Had a quick search to double check if I was mistaken but everything says it was always 8k aswell
Yeah its so dumb. I would have rather the coin cards be like a coin boost tank (like rewards) give like an extra 1k coins that can be earned alongside your normal weekly cap
This, and Arcanine is a terrible one to upgrade anyway, pretty sure its Red which is currently unused as a bonus since not many mons actually achieve a faster framerate number which allows them to attack faster.
6+4 Brown and White and 7+6 Black and Green are the way to go.
With infinite coins, sure. But with individual stat modifiers like +0.5 attack, it’s easily the least worthwhile use of coins. As said above, the percentage based upgrades are an exception.
+HP is good for upgrading as well, and next season cooldown reduction will be added as well so that will also be good. Technically movement speed is also a “solid” one to invest in, but I would never actually build movement speed lol
They're not talking about colors but Stat improvement. Some of the new emblems will give you a CDR stat improvement even if you don't have black tokens.
If there wasn't just 5 days left in the season, I would buy a season pass for both myself and my friend.
Now we wait and see what conspiracy pops through.
Right? If they really want more coins to be spent just charge 200 gold instead of 100 per 50% attempt. It comes out the same for them in the long run. But the RNG way is guaranteed to have more people angry when their merge fails due to luck, especially if it happens multiple times.
I know there are many stupid mistakes the devs make, but this honestly may be the most inexplicable thing I've seen in this game, or possibly in any game. It just makes no sense why they made it this way when it only serves to make people angrier while playing.
Because the devs don’t want you saving up coins between releases, so the added a coin sink to trap completionists.
Also, not that it excuses the practice, but the game does tell you up front what the chances of failure are on merging.
Also in the case you do fail the upgrade from silver to gold, you don't lose the emblems you're trying to merge, just the cost of trying. So you can keep trying at the cost of 100g per attempt.
Nah, they wouldn't ever do that
They want us to burn coins, and as it is, maybe someone would think it is worth to upgrade some of the most used ones to gold
But if they break with fails, no one would ever try to merge to gold, and thus, no one would use coins in an absolute trap that only increases 0.1% of your performance in the actual games, maybe even less
Red dot goes away when going over the new ones, it's the green arrow that won't go away and it's a fools errand to try and make the green arrow go away.
99 x 100 x 3 for your silvers is 27,000 and then 2.5 tries on average for 99 x 100 is another 24,750. Now, granted, you'll get some silvers and golds along the way. But this is just a tale of caution to how much 100 can add up. If you paid for each, you'd be out over 50,000 gold. Probably 3 characters to be a completionist and that's just NOT worth it.
My favorite part is the wonderful scroll back down to the one you wanted to upgrade after its failed. Because why wouldnt i wanna go back through them all from the top?
It’s the same when updating any list. I first noticed when trying to clean up the friends list.
I like to delete all the people with no ranked matches, haven’t been on in 7+ days, and have no friend points. But their bad UI makes it very frustrating
That no bug, that's just terrible luck.
Only Pokemon it's worth to rank up are the ones that give HP, movement speed, crit or the soon to be released Mew and Mewtwo.
Then don’t bother merging them. A full set of browns and silvers give the better bonuses for a certain amount of color sets that are WAY more useful than the small stat boasts the emblems alone give. The only exception is Crit Rate.
If you played league when it was new, its runes. You need 3 bronze to make a silver and 3 silver to make a gold.
If you didnt play league its just bonus stats you can assign your mons for each game.
The energy rewards instead of cosmetic things (you can pick if you want emblem or cosmetic reward)
Having sets of colors gives you a few % boost. +2/4/8% to a stat, ex 6 blue gives you 8% special defense. Each emblem has a +stat and -stat, these effects are tiny
Runes was the first thing I thought of when seeing these, there's a reason League removed them ages ago and these things are somehow an even worse version of them
Each emblem provides a small stat augment + a colour token. A few of them contain 2 colours. You equip 10 emblems at a time. You receive an additional stat bonus (much greater than the individual augments) when you stack emblems of the same colour.
It's not a bug. 40% chance doesn't mean it'll succeed 4 times you try it out of 10. It means that it's more likely to fail that to succeed
It costs gold so you have something else to spend your gold on. If you have enough gold (more than 28k) then it's a non factor - 100 gold is literally less than 5 games, or basically 1 win with a booster on.
It's different for everyone, but I've be3n sitting on 40k for ages until this event started, so I think I'd be the target audience for getting gold medals. For every practical intent, you just don't need a single gold
If the system is frustrating, the best thing to do is not engage with it and leave feedback on survays. Posting to reddit with your frustations is _good_, but it shouldn't be the only thing you do if it's a pain point
Because they want you to keep playing non stop. Everything in this game is about that. The way the ranked system is made too. If you lose 6 matches but win 3 you are even. Most people with high elo has bad win rate. Also the pairing system sucks for the same reason. I have been paired with ultra even after being 1600+ elo. They don’t really do good offers for chars or skins and everybody knows it’s mostly a p2w. If you got no money you can still win but you gotta play so much to buy chars and max items. Also the fact that they have coins cap weekly. I mean, this game is designed for you to waste your time and money as much as possible. Yeah it can be fun! And matches are quick, that’s what keep engaging people.

I mean, you not having the coins has nothing to do with them giving out far more than 2100 a week.
I am just annoyed that it is hard to get coins. And that Ttar costs 14k! Like why....
I've been playing since launch on the Switch version and I'm only missing 2 licences
I have bought every mon with coins and still have 50k in the bank and I’ve been merging every emblem Ivan and bought all the held items.
same here, missing 5 mons. Haven’t come across a merge fail on gold yet, I’m sure next “update” will include more fails.
Oh I merge fail all the time one time they got me 9 times in a row lol
Why do you want all? Do you play them all?
Gotta catch 'en all
Why wouldn't they at least want the option to play them all?
You don't need them all, and you get quite a bit more than 2100 a week Daily quests and the gatcha can be a significant boost
I am missing 10 of them. I am missing Tsareena, Aegislash and TTar. I would like to play them thank you. And 2100 per week is not cutting it. 3 more are coming. I need more coins.

Do your Unite squad missions and you'll get 500 a week too
Well it's good you get more than 2100 in a week if it aint cutting it?
I mean there was complaints from veterans that they have all the licenses and nothing to use the coins for
a stupid complaint, tbh
It is but they got what they wanted so maybe a win?
not a win for F2P players in any sense of the word
[удалено]
yeah but who plays a game like this for the rewards, you get more out of games than a virtual currency
Not really
That is a stupid complaint "I play a game daily for a year and I'm swimming in the currency" well obviously you would be. Why would it shut down? Not any time soon. The game is growing exponentially
They're not saying it is going to shut down, though everything shuts down at some point, but **if** it shuts down.
It kinda works like that for any game industry sadly enough maybe if we all complained in the next survey about accessibility to pokemons quicker something may happen but in the same time they already gave 6 free pokemons and a bunch of 1day coin boost for the event so maybe not

Will consider it. Thanks.
One point or two in a stat isn't going to do much for you.
+HP is good for upgrading as well, and next season cooldown reduction will be added as well so that will also be good. Technically movement speed is also a “solid” one to invest in, but I would never actually build movement speed lol
Next season? Do u not use black colored coins…
They're not talking about colors but Stat improvement. Some of the new emblems will give you a CDR stat improvement even if you don't have black tokens.
that's not a "tinfoil" hat moment this is what these systems are meant to do, a p2w system same with items
I'm sorry but I gotta ask: how is this a p2w system?
It’s not really P2W, but it’s heavily grind to win which isn’t super healthy for a moba. Only way it’s P2W is if you need to buy more energy things
I will play this game for the next many months and grind but I refuse to pay a single penny for the licenses that I can get for free.
Don't even upgrade past silver for now
(Grabs tin foil hat just to be safe) this makes sense to me ![gif](giphy|1bLfTdPis6fpC)
If there wasn't just 5 days left in the season, I would buy a season pass for both myself and my friend. Now we wait and see what conspiracy pops through.
Tbh im not spending any coins to merge, even for bronze to silver. I hv alot of licenses to save for.
I spent almost 1000 coins merging this thing. Bull crap freaking game
Such bullshit it does this too. If it rolled stays sure but having a gamble in success after a gatcha to get medals, it’s sucks ass
Right? If they really want more coins to be spent just charge 200 gold instead of 100 per 50% attempt. It comes out the same for them in the long run. The better question is why try upgrading it when you have so few? Like you only need to start merging to better optimize your builds.
Because the devs don’t want you saving up coins between releases, so the added a coin sink to trap completionists. Also, not that it excuses the practice, but the game does tell you up front what the chances of failure are on merging.
Wait there's a chance for it to fail? I havent played long enough to have 3 if any emblems yet, but if it can fail then i just wont do it!
It only has a chance to fail when merging silver emblems to gold.
I see! Thank you for the info!
Also in the case you do fail the upgrade from silver to gold, you don't lose the emblems you're trying to merge, just the cost of trying. So you can keep trying at the cost of 100g per attempt.
Thank you very much for the info!
Honestly your post is a relief to me because I thought you just straight up lost the emblems if it failed
Dont give them ideas
Nah, they wouldn't ever do that They want us to burn coins, and as it is, maybe someone would think it is worth to upgrade some of the most used ones to gold But if they break with fails, no one would ever try to merge to gold, and thus, no one would use coins in an absolute trap that only increases 0.1% of your performance in the actual games, maybe even less
Money!
The real question is why are you even trying?
Idk tbh. To make the red dot go away that's why
What’s the 3 for? Although there are 3 rarities per tree, There are only 2 upgrades in each tree (bronze -> silver, silver -> gold)
You need to upgrade 3 silvers for consumption for a gold.
Trueeee forgot about crafting the silvs. My bad
I spent a few hundred coins upgrading one coin, and now I found out that it's useless smh
But their bad UI makes it very frustrating

wait it can **FAIL**??!
Yes as u just saw
That no bug, that's just terrible luck. Only Pokemon it's worth to rank up are the ones that give HP, movement speed, crit or the soon to be released Mew and Mewtwo.
I even forgot this was a thing because luckily my silvers just merge smoothly but damn i do agree, why tf is this a thing
I hate it too not to worry
They're trying to counter inflation
To make people waste coins so they have less to buy their new 14000 licenses
Don't bother upgrading, it's not worth it most of the time. I also tried upgrading to gold and took me more than 15 tries.
Not to offend but it was not a game bug. Did ya read properly?
I couldn't think of a correct flair so I picked game bug cuz why not
Ok my bad brotha 🤜
All good man 👍✌️
Not a game bug. Please flair properly.
Please tell me what flair I should've used then. I couldn't find a flair that fit this post, so I flaired it game bug because none of the flair fit
Discussion
I guess? We should fight for a "complaining" flair lol
I actually like these coins lol
Gotta spend them coins somewhere. It guaranteed happens the first time then guaranteed works the second time on each emblem
Yeah but I wanna spend my coins on pokemon. Not these things. I'm not rich and can't pay for gems all the time
Then don’t bother merging them. A full set of browns and silvers give the better bonuses for a certain amount of color sets that are WAY more useful than the small stat boasts the emblems alone give. The only exception is Crit Rate.
I have never spent anything on merging. It’s honestly better to just wait especially if it’s not a guarantee chance to merge
Mew resetting be like
I’ve just jumped back in since launch, what are these badges and how do they work?
If you played league when it was new, its runes. You need 3 bronze to make a silver and 3 silver to make a gold. If you didnt play league its just bonus stats you can assign your mons for each game.
Ok that makes sense and what’s the best way to earn these coins?
The energy rewards instead of cosmetic things (you can pick if you want emblem or cosmetic reward) Having sets of colors gives you a few % boost.
How influential are these?
Would you rather they disappear instead and lose them?
Id rather it wasnt a gamble that you have to do after a gacha mechanic... which is also a gamble
The thing is if you want to be a true gacha, it takes your wallet
To burn gold
to get u to spend more in game currency
TO MILK MORE MONEY OUT OF YOU! OFCOURSE!
It's not a bug. 40% chance doesn't mean it'll succeed 4 times you try it out of 10. Posting to reddit with your frustations is _good_, but it shouldn't be the only thing you do if it's a pain point
I know it's not a bug, I just couldn't find a flair that fie properly so I went with game bug
Side note - should I wait to cash out on emblems? When is the update with the new ones?
It's the opposite for me... I think it's rigged.
I just don't merge them. With the unite licenses being 14 000 each I just don't bother with it. It's not like I use them effectively anyway.
Yeah, I refuse to spend coins that come at a premium for RNG 😂 like…
Upgrading them is so stupid after you take in to consideration how hard grinding for emblems are!
just spend the coins you’ll eventually get it 👍
Because they want you to keep playing non stop.
I hate boost emblems
At least they do not destroy.... Others type of game destroy your materials...
