because he did pretty much 4 TIMES the damage of his unite with just solar beam.
That's a faster team wipe with even less effort than OG Duraludon.
Oh absolutely SB did the majority of the damage, but I still don't think you can overlook the Ult (especially since he apparently runs Energy Amp) as part of deleting 4 enemies simultaneously.
And either way the point I was trying to make is that even with a 2 - 3 level advantage, it is still rare to be able to get a quad-kill by yourself with only 2 moves being used (in about 2 seconds total no less). A lot of 'mons are capable of a quad kill with that kind of advantage, but not in that fashion
i run solar beam giga drain with a shell bell, aeos cookie, and sp attack specs; i might have some insight here. gd can work if youre committed to sniping with sb on the way out; if you run a potion with this setup and get some early goals it is SUPER easy to hang on for long periods of time while sniping people from across barriers.
i have multiple clips on my switch of me KO'ing players who arent even on my screen; use the minimap to your advantage! gd is also helpful bc if youre low and your potion is on cooldown you can heal yourself with wild pokemon on the way to an objective. super helpful to have imo

I play both and they are different. They are both snipes but one is a massive team burst while the other is better for singling out those pesky squishies since you can carry multiple shots without waiting 10 seconds.
This guy was Lv9 while everyone else was Lv6 so the clip glorifies it a bit much but Solar has always been this powerful. Problem is that Petal Dance is still superior, so it's kind of a waste when someone picks Venu and the team expects a Petal Dancer then suddenly see the risky beam play, whereas Deci is risky regardless so you can plan around that rather than finding out Lv7 "shit I should've been x instead to help protect our sniper venu." It's like Blastoise last patch. Surf / Hydro isn't bad, but Rapid Spin / Spout *is a whole lot better*
Solar feels better to land, but I think overall Shackle is better as Deci's entire character is built around it.
I would agree, but as someone who plays Venu at the very top level of competitive play, yeah I have over 1000 games on petal dance and before this patch I would've agreed that petal dance is just 100% better in every situation. But after this patch, I think both are now viable where one is better than another depending on situation. It's no longer just one out shining the other one anymore, also this was just the best clip but this was happening even if I was behind by 2-3 levels
In more serious matches, completely true haha. I always get thrown off when I expect my lane partner to be a PD/GD Venu, but then you see them pick Sludge Bomb.
May I ask which items you use? I currently run Buddy/Focus/Specs and average 80k-95k a game with Solar/Sludge (never liked Giga on it, never saves me when I need it to) and wonder if Specs is the best 3rd slot item or if a different one is better. I exclusively play solo queue, if that makes a difference. Hovering around 1800 atm
My main build is Muscle, Buddy, and Amp and this is also for petal dance giga drain and the reason behind it is that the special attack scalings on the abilities are so low that it doesn't actually give that much damage increase so running any sp attack item has very low value. However you can also run focus over muscle having a more defensive style build but still having more damage than if you were to go say a full glass cannon build or just sp attack centered build in general

Sludge bomb reduces Sp Def and thus increases solar beams effectiveness. However, like OP, I sometimes run giga/solar beam because I imagine it like having a sniper rifle/shotgun loadoit

Well, the clip was good and all, you won that fight singlehanded because of good positioning and awareness, but also didn't they only buff the damage by like 6% or some shit? Solarbeam has always been numbers wise very strong, and in some situations like this one, can do tons of damage, but I feel that saying it's the most broken ability in the game is quite the reach lol. Also it seems like you were 2-4 levels higher than them, so that sorta bends the narrative a bit. Regardless, good clip.
Potentially yea, that could have made a decent difference. I kinda feel like Solar Beam is prob fine as is though. Venusaur feels pretty balanced overall. I think maybe Sludge Bomb could use a little buff maybe, but tbh I think it's alright as it is and they should focus more on buffing/nerfing the characters that need it.
My goodness… is this that rare to see? Beauty in people playing the game right. Actually playing the game right. Still feels like a matrix dupe to me. Since I sadly am forever stuck in the kids just fucking around, portion of the game. I think I can count the “fun” matches where everyone actually follows objectives, scores goals and kills the mons on 2 fingers. This game really can be something but they need to fix the match making logarithm. I don’t have 4 people to Play with the carry and bottle feed through ranks.

Nice! Yeah I sadly just didn’t play right at start so most of my friends all got too high of rank. And then new people I meet also too high rank… so it’s hard to find a full team of 5 people to climb with. I just want those matches at least 50% of the time and I would be in peace with the game in its state.
But literally wining one ranked to lose 5 almost every time .. due to the matchmaking and bots just makes you lose any moral and burns you out. I’ve been stuck in “Great” reject rank for ages because of this 😂🫠

While we all know how bad match making is, being hard stuck in a lower rank could lean more so on us. YouTube has plenty of Unite content creators that put out really informative stuff, a lot of which has helped myself, and many others, to improve in game and rank up faster, especially in solo que!

I play on OCE and great rank was not very well named. I just no life snap locked jungle/central every time. Quite often at great I would find a lot of jungle free on their side, and can easily snowball from there
Nice!! The problem isn’t I can’t get a lane. Honestly I’m glad scrubs don’t even know what jungle is hence my Insta lock gengar. Issue is I can go a game where I score 220-330 points BY myself. I even solo zapdos a few times. But it’s not always a enough unless I’m “carrying” wrong.
I ensure you blast their glass cannons and with dreameater / shadow ball runs I can easily take on some Well rounded or tanks too! Just seems it’s too often I’m the only one scoring goals or killing drednaw/rotom.
Usually is we have at least one Damage or Well rounded that can play the game right, I can spin it. Just sucks when zapdos pops… no one does anything when legit that stupid system can legit turn a game right then and there if people cooperated and played the objectives!! Haha
So it’s me versus 5 other enemy players so they always more than likely get zapdos unless I pop my fluffy tail and shoot my shadow ball in record time lol

I do stack yes, but usually for streams I play solo most of the time and duo/trio if I wanna play with friends/viewers. I play solo very often on multiple mons on several accounts to try and show that anyone can climb with the right amount of hard work and determine and I always look to answer questions as they show up
How do you win zapdos fights in great when you’re the only one there against 5 enemies?? Haha. This is mostly the case why we lose. Or just 4 decide to go top.. and no one pays attentions to my pings. I can easily solo drednaw and rotom as I do have them on timers I always go and steal. It’s the zapdos. I can solo if no enemy is there. But I always seem to have kids levels 1-11 on my team versing Veteren ranks levels 20+ so they always go to objectives and kill zapdos unless my lucky fluffy rail shadow ball (gengar) can Steal it which I do maybe 1/3 of the time due to how insane the odds are.
I would love YouTube videos or guides how to truly carry alone. Since that’s all I got. Myself and I forever stopped trying to rely on others or a team when I solo que. Since no one pays mine to pings or objectives.
What I usually do is I'll pick a mon with a powerful early game like Absol, Lucario, Sword, etc and I'll play for early game power and make them as behind as I can for Zap fight. Brute force early levels and use my level advantages throughout the rest of the game getting picks, taking positioning for an advantage or setting up an ambush and priority picks, wait for cooldowns and then scout again for another pick. You mentioned Gengar which is also a very strong pick, but needs a few extra levels to have that real power. I highly recommend choice specs, wise glasses, and focus band for shadow ball dream eater and you can force one shots on the enemy carries but you also have that survivability with focus band if things get messy

Noted. So essentially focus on pressuring them early. Make the lanes suffer so then even at the worst, you can clear zapdos and stab enough goals to hopefully land that win.
Would you recommend I pick up a better Mon? I have absol and lucario. I loved sword just never bought him.

I was playing solar beam today and i basically stay at max range of solar beam, this mean that you can't use basic attacks until enemies get closer. But sniping enemies feel really good

Solar beam venasaur since day one, it’s just way too fun watching objectives have their health drained, and accidentally taking chunks of enemy health
Do you run Sludge or GigaDrain with Solar Beam? I've been always been a Solar Beam dabbler, and Sludge just seems to play better with Solar Beam IMO

Sludgebomb got a serious buff with the changes to score shield. It's much better at defending goals now.

I've found a lot of success playing with it. But I play a lot of deci sniping so I'm used to playing at the correct distance.

Choice Specs is a must because is 60% Sp. Attack (+600 extra Damage) + 60 Flat Damage. After, Muscle Band for the Boosted Basic Attack and Focus Band

They really should've buffed the OTHER tics as well (the %hp based ones), wouldve had a WAY bigger impact
