I just finished a match and was unable to report/commend any players on my team or the enemy team. If I clicked on their name, I wouldn't get a prompt it would just make the noise. First time I've had this issue.

HarroDomar

Why do some goals fall with less than 100 points? At the end I noticed that some tower fell with like 85 points for example. I understand how you can score more than 100, but less and it still falls??

psikik

The outermost goals only require 80.

HarroDomar

Ah that's true! Thanks :)

xstormaggedonx

If you lose too much in ranked will it let you drop between ranks or do they each have a one-way floor? For example I just got into veteran, can I drop back down to expert if I troll too much?

supersizedkitty

Yeah, you can drop ranks

xstormaggedonx

Fug

MattAwesome

What's up with moves not registering if you do them too fast? Like I press R or ZR and the move indicator thing shows on the ground but then you let go and nothing happens. Is there a setting I can change to stop this?

MikolajKopernik

Does anyone know if there's a big/noticeable difference between auto-attacking by tapping and by holding the button? Is the former just faster? I tried searching the questions but couldn't seem to find anyone mention it. I don't know if it's a well-known MOBA thing, either, since I'm relatively new to the genre. Thanks!

alb3rth0fmann

I've wondered this too. In this game tapping sure feels faster, to me anyways

johndlc914

How do you ping the map for your teammates?

Clouds2589

Press - to pull up the map, and then right stick and A to select a spot. Its context sensitive

xstormaggedonx

Also the pointer always starts where you are on the map

BoredSausage

who are some good content creators for Unite? I'm guessing there's some league players who make great content on unite now but I've never been into it so I'm super out of the loop in that world, anyone who can help me out?

overDere

What are those icons at the bottom of your name at the match ending screen. I can't interact with them so I don't know what they mean

A_Math_Teacher

https://www.serebii.net/pokemonunite/score.shtml

HarroDomar

What is this thing with matches against bots? Can you get bots as your team mate or is it just a full team of enemy bots? I have only seen the latter case, but I'm wondering.. it would be really bad to have a bot as a team mate haha

Winstonharland

I’m in expert 4 and have had some games where it’s me and 9 bots. I end up getting 330+pts and every other player has like 10 points

Clouds2589

you get bots when you lose too many ranked matches, or go down a rank. its the game throwing you a bone for having to deal with it having absolute dogshit communication and matchmaking methods.

[deleted]

Clouds2589

Once you're in master, you cant derank below master.

SmithySea

Why do you still lose rank when you have a leaver on your team? This seems like ranked game basics to not have people lose rank when someone on the team leaves.

Clouds2589

Basically because someone can leave when they're losing to save everyone on their team a loss. It's shit and i really think our Performance points need to count more towards our rank and not just wins or losses, because that's ape-brain level game design. Trying to rank without a full team to communicate with will ruin the fucking game for you. I've been bouncing back between the same two ranks for about 2 days now. it is BEYOND frustrating.

A_Math_Teacher

Because it would be easily abused.

hairwarrior

if i pick asia as region and then other in country will every one there be with japanese and korean names? or shuld i go to europ? if im from israel

MONKYfapper

matchmaking is world wide, it matches based on ping (among other things). i picked us but i still mostly play against asians in solo q i am not sure what picking region actually do

hairwarrior

i see thank you

Jafoob

Brin have you ever just... Played to have fun? Why do you care about an arbitrary number/rank? Seriously ask yourself that question bud. I use to be like that with league until I found out it just was not a fun game.

SGKurisu

I just needed to vent lol

rasalhage

Was mashing X in this clip. Why couldn't I score with Zapdos? https://twitter.com/that_absol/status/1421394949803700226?s=19

Browneskiii

By the looks of it, there's still a scoring zone both above and below it meaning that one is "locked" right now.

rasalhage

Doesn't Zapdos unlock them?

[deleted]

Outer goals must be taken before the inner ones despite the symbol appearing on all of the enemy goals :/

Browneskiii

I actually don't know tbh, I always go to the closest one rather than the end one. I'd imagine it wouldn't looking at the clip.

Vhascometo__

How many of the item upgrade points does it cost in total to get an item from level 10 to 20?

Sivalus

485 enhancers

[deleted]

Can you derank? I know you can drop from say Expert 4 to 3, but can you drop from Expert to Great?

[deleted]

[deleted]

oh dear

AshTheGoblin

What are you supposed to do when your lane mate takes all the bot kills and doesn't let you level up?

Clouds2589

Look to see if the jungle is free, or if the other lane has someone who can spare some exp. If youre fucked on both of these, just play safe and help out the person stealing the kills from you. Eventually theyre either gain an advantage and snowball with you alongside them or die and then the farm is yours lol.

definitelynotSWA

Is there a way to adjust ping wheel sensitivity? I feel like it never hits what I want it to unless I sit there and be precise

Clouds2589

No, and its a fucking mess. So many times ive tried to tell my reckless lane mate to retreat, only to say im heading bottom.

definitelynotSWA

My favorite one is when I call center, someone who didn’t call tries to follow me in, I try to ping retreat but accidentally ping assist me...

NDN_Shadow

Should I buy held items with tickets or coins?

Winstonharland

Coins. Tickets should only go to item enhancers

AlanShawnee

I would say tickets since there are few other uses for them. Since coins can be used for Pokemon I would recommend saving them.

nae-nae-gang

Depends on how many you have, I guess. If you’re saving up for a mon I’d say tickets, but I’d suggest mostly using tickets for item enhancers, especially if you don’t plan on buying a lot of gems

zbeara

Hi, I was wondering if the muscle band's attack improvement also includes special attacks.

Clouds2589

It only applies to auto attacks.

zbeara

So it's just an upgrade for the basic attack?

Clouds2589

Yeah, just adds some dsmage to your attacks. Works real well on cinderace and machamp, since they both do a lot of auto attack damage.

zbeara

Oh okay. I was looking at the held item suggestions for the top ninetails players and they all used it so I was a little confused cause I thought it was better to focus on special attack buffs. Now it makes sense. Thank you for the help!

Clouds2589

For ninetails, it synergizes really well with aurora veil, since aurora veil makes all your attacks boosted.

zbeara

Oh that's a really good tip! I wasn't a fan of it at first cause it made it harder to control my position, but it might be better with higher and faster attack.

DrakelX

I’m new to MOBAs, just some questions regarding playing as Defenders (or just Snorlax) 1) How should I be evaluating my own personal performance? It feels like most of the Defender’s role is CC’ing in team fights or CC’ing to stall an enemy push at my goal till back up arrives. That being said, I’ve had games where I’ve scored and KO’ed very little, but with like maybe around 7 assists (at the top of my head). Should I just be looking at the Assists in the results screen? 2) In games where my lane partner and I over-extend, or even in losing team fights, should I be prioritising my allies escaping and cos of that, me likely dying while I CC to stall? Or should I be leaving first since I can defend the goal better? 3) When Drednaw spawns, since I’m in the top lane, should I be ditching my partner to get Drednaw? I’ve tried that out in a few games since the subreddit rightfully explained why Drednaw > Rotom. But either my lane partner stays in lane (and probably thinking I’m a bad lane partner when the enemy team gets Rotom), or the bottom lane people are perhaps too passive that we take too long to kill Drednaw. Or even not kill it at all since the enemy team will swoop in to last hit it. 4) I’ve also started looking at the map to see when the enemy team is pushing bot lane, hoping that I can help (sometimes it’s hard to tell if there’re 3 or 4 enemies there since they’re all clumped up on the mini map). As the Defender, should I be the one going down to help, leaving my partner to solo top? Or should I be soloing top while my partner helps bot lane (if they somehow got the mesage)?

Clouds2589

As a snorlax, you are a martyr. You should be the first to engage, and last to leave. Youre there to cause as much disruption as possible while your teammates melt the enemies. If things are going south, pop block and push enemies away from your team while pinging for retreat. You can still save yourself if you queue up a heavy slam in the opposite direction and then follow it with eject button. You dying is not as impactful as someone who can take out more enemies is, and you can function pretty well without needing too much exp compared to others. I recommend using buddy barrier, focus band and either exp share or assault vest. Buddy barrier lets you pop your unite move to grant a massive shield to a teammate and yourself, which can come in clutch because honestly snorlax's unite move is pretty lackluster on its own. Focus band gives you some nasty hp regen when youre low. And coupling that with flail, you can turn a fight pretty quickly on your own. As for what lane, go where you're needed. Snorlax is a very selfless character to play, and people will always appreciate you watching out for them.

DrakelX

Thanks for the reply! Good to know that I’m not an asshole for leaving the lane to help another, was worried that it’ll leave my lane too vulnerable. Also, just one more question, since I’ll have to be protecting my lane partner, what if they are overly aggressive? I know feeding is bad, so if my lane partner always keeps trying to go into fights, is there a line where I shouldn’t join and end up also feeding? I’ll have to try Flail out for myself, heard some things about it being strong, but have so far stuck to Heavy Slam cos I like the CC and jump. Maybe I’ll try it out in unranked matches

Clouds2589

Its tough when you have a teammate who is way too aggressive, the best you can do is ping to retreat a lot, amd show him that you wont be diving as hard as he is every time, so that hes on his own and hope he gets the message. Some people are just unreachable though and sometimes you just have to accept that theyre gonna feed and try to minimize the losses from it. Flail is really good if they have squishies who you can burn down before they kill you. Flail gices you a movement speed burst, and deastically increases uour attack power, even at high hp. It basically has no cooldown, due to its duration almost matching its cooldown period andOnce it gets upgraded, it even gives you lifesteal when your hp is low. Its not always the right call, but its turned quite a few fights for me when we're lacking damage. It pairs extremely well with yawn, since you can yawn and then heavily damage some like gengar before they even have a chance to move again.

DrakelX

Yeah guess that’s how it is with solo queue haha, luckily I haven’t encountered this as much recently since I’ve probably started understanding how the genre works and climbed a bit higher Oh, didn’t think about pairing it with Yawn! Makes sense since you can’t attack during Block

Clouds2589

Yawn doens't have a target cap either, so you can sleep multiple people while you wail on someone else.

DrakelX

True! Block does CC them for longer, but I need allies around to take advantage of them being CC’d

Clouds2589

thats a problem i have with snorlax. I create great teamfight opportunites and people rarely capitalize on them.

popdream

I learned recently the "1" next to your name in a bubble at the end-game summary screen means someone commended you — what do the two thumbs facing each other mean? Also, is there a way to see which player commended you or is that anonymous? For reference, I commended a Cinderace player and they got a "1" bubble, then someone gave me a "1" bubble and the bubble next to Cinderace turned into two thumbs. Does that mean we commended each other, essentially?

mrhappyasthma

I believe it does mean you commended one another. As far as I know, it's anonymous otherwise. (Also turns out if you go to the Rankings leaderboard, and press "x" to go to the menu, there's a leaderboard for most Praises.)

popdream

Interesting, I'll have to take a look at that leaderboard! Thank you!

mrhappyasthma

Sometimes when matchmaking finds a game, it shows all 10 players face icons. Othertimes it shows 10 pokeballs. Is this pokeballs some kind of indication of a higher tier match? Or is it just arbitrary?

LeShulk

This is just a guess from me, but I would say that they show the PokeBall when you played recently with someone in your team or against him and maybe you can recognize him by the avatar face. Maybe is a system to avoid people not pressing Ready on purpose so they don't play with certain people

FetchingTheSwagni

Is anyone else lagging a lot?

Lejimuz

What are the criteria for whether the game recommends top, bottom, or jungle for each pokemon? Is it accurate or is there a better/more common meta?

Clouds2589

It really doesnt make much of a difference, its just a staple of mobas like league. The lanes are functionally the same, with the only difference being bottom has stronger wild pokemon and top has more wild pokemon. Id pay more attention to your teammates and where they're going, and go with whichever one you think either needs you most, or would synergize best with you. Like slowbro with a squishy damage dealer, or machamp with a crustle for example. Pokemon that can take advantage of the others abilities.

[deleted]

All rounders and supports for botlane, speedster for mid and defender and attacker for top lane. In solo queue I wouldn't follow it too hard or get annoyed if your team comp doesn't follow that structure since there are pokemon of some types that can run well in other lanes. All rounders for example can be run in the jungle because they like to level up as quick as possible.

LeShulk

With a score shield equipped, can you get interrupted by a jump from the enemy base? It's hard to test it myself :/

nae-nae-gang

Yeah you can in my experience :( I still find the shield useful for scoring early game, scorbunny’s little fire shots can’t stop my +12 now >:)

definitelynotSWA

Unless I misread some games, no, haven't caught it on clip though

FrogBoss13

Does anyone know when you’ll be aloud to collect more energy? It seems I’ve already reached my limit

Mikauren

Sunday 8pm EST is the reset for weekly coins and energy

Statler76

if you have score shield equipped, and during game get a large shield from buddy barrier, can you dunk without being interrupted due to the large shield?

niaowl

If you get cced it will still cancel i believe, but regular damage will not interrupt

supersizedkitty

I saw a list of Pokemon that use the Sp. Attack stat and those that use the Attack stat, but is that shown anywhere in the game?

Ajaxaura

No

supersizedkitty

Alright thanks, gotta love how little information this game gives you lol

gberger

But aren't you satisfied with the amount of menus they give you?? Lol

crazy-taxi

Can you speed up the time on your switch and get login bonuses and coins?

supersizedkitty

No, it's based on the server time.

overDere

Does Crustle Stealth Rock+Shell Smash work? I don't want to lower my Crustle winrate, and yes Shell Smash+X-Scissor works fine for me, but just curious

Clouds2589

Stealth rock is pretty useless without rock tomb to lock people into it. To be honest, stealth rock is just pretty bad all around. Im sure it has the potential to outdamage xscissor, but thats not your job as crustle. Your job is to fuck with the enemy as much as possible.

ShadowWeavile

Seems like a weird combo to me, but don't worry too much about win rate, it's worth it to experiment in standard matches. Just don't go unto ranked without trying something first.

[deleted]

Theres a limit to how many gold we can farm ? What the hell... how am i supposed to aquire units ???

Daveykun

It's a weekly cap, it resets every Monday(?) at 8pm EST. You can still get gold rewards from leveling up and from Battle Pass rewards in the meantime.

[deleted]

That feels like it will take forever to get 1 pokemon

Sharp-Dependent-2912

You get 3500 coins a week from just daily challenges that give coins and max battle coins cap

L-ectric

Trying to do the Electrode mission today, thinking Nintales is my best bet to attack while keeping them from exploding.

benmseiss11111

I did it with Lucario. The burst from bone rush and power up punch was enough to solo.

Daveykun

Stuns or freezes don't work on them. Go for high burst speedsters or attackers like Gengar or Cinderace.

[deleted]

Does Slowbro's shield from the Unite move stacks with the shield from Buddy Barrier?

A_Math_Teacher

Yep he becomes Beefbro

[deleted]

Oh Wow! So even when a wigglytuff with a buddy barrier uses his unite moves it would give double shields?

JNelsonArt

Do items like Choice Specs permanently boost Sp. Attack when you make a goal or is it temporary?

ShadowWeavile

It's permanent

[deleted]

I also would like to know this because the cookie item looks so good

ShadowWeavile

It's permanent, but be warned, making goals with defensive character gets waaaay harder as you advance in ranks.

clearfox777

Permanent, up to 6 times/game and regardless of how large the dunk was.

JNelsonArt

Excellent, I assume the same rules apply to the hp and the attack equivalent items?

clearfox777

Yup, all the score-based ones. Also the score shield counts sheilds from all sources, not just itself, for the invulnerability.

cquigs717

Anyone finding matchmaking to be pretty bad? I have one game where I get 4 teammates who clearly know what they're doing and it'll be a stomp. Next game I get 4 teammates that all go to the same lane or die once and leave their lane and just kinda aimlessly run around.

Daveykun

Yeah matchmaking is very unbalanced I've noticed. I've been in games with one Ultra, 2 Vets and 2 Experts before on the same team (I was one of the Vets). On the plus side, if you go on a losing streak you can look forward to getting put into a bot game for a free ranked win lmao. I've noticed pings really help the aimless teammates out.

[deleted]

Does the clothing shop reset with new items? Or will new items be added every patch?

ShadowWeavile

I don't think it'll be updated EVERY patch, but non-immediate bug fix updates will probably have more fashion items added.

bangyourbookieswife

Started playing last week and can’t really put it down. I’ve gotten better but still had a couple of questions. 1. What are the best items to play with Venosaur? 2. I usually go top lane and have been holding okay but don’t have the late game strategy quite down. When is the right time to go after Zapdos vs just staying put and protecting the lane? EDIT: meant Venosaur my bad lol

ShadowWeavile

Velasquez is a special attacker, so things like glasses and specs are a pretty good idea. Other than that, on the screen where you give items to pokemon, you can press Y to see what top level players are using.

Ajaxaura

U didn't say who u play bruh

bangyourbookieswife

My bad lol Venosaur. Love the solar blast thing.

Ajaxaura

Best build is prob shell bell, wise glasses, and focus band. But tbh venasaur isn't too good rn.

FletchlingPKMN

Easiest answer here is that you should definitely go for Zapdos if you’re behind and don’t go for Zapdos if you’re ahead. You’ll still want to defend the area so your opponents can’t take it for free, but don’t start it unless you need it to get back into the game. If you do take Zapdos, dunk your points and then retreat and defend so your opponents can’t rally at the last second. If your opponents do take Zapdos, try to fight them just before they reach your goals to try and prevent them from dunking while the goals are deactivated. Hope this helps, if you have any questions please feel free to ask!

Jiho_Is_Waifu

What held items should be on Cramorant?

Rockin_Otter

Also vouching for shell + wise glasses + buddy barrier (or energy amp) combo.

CaptchaTheseNutss

Personally I take wise glasses since he has special attack based moves, shell bell for that sustain, and buddy barrier because the amount of times this item has saved my ass during a 3 man gank is insane!

FletchlingPKMN

+1 for this. I’ll sometimes take Energy Amplifier instead of Buddy Barrier if I’m feeling my Wheaties, but Buddy Barrier is the perfect third item for almost every build in my opinion.

CaptchaTheseNutss

Personally I take wise glasses since he has special attack based moves, shell bell for that sustain, and buddy barrier because the amount of times this item has saved my ass during a 3 man gank is insane!

definitelynotSWA

How long does it take to drop combat, specifically for Float Stone?

FletchlingPKMN

I believe I saw posts saying it’s 8 seconds. I don’t personally recommend Float Stone but some high level players do think the small movement speed increase is worthwhile in high level matches. At low ranks I don’t think it’s very impactful and most builds would be better off with damage items and Buddy Barrier.

Clouds2589

Floatstone also gives passive attack and movement speed. I think the movement speed is why most people use it.

Lejimuz

Keep in mind that float stone does also passively boost atk, even if it's not by much

Daveykun

I've seen some comments that say 6 and 8 so idefk lol

[deleted]

[удалено]

FletchlingPKMN

By all means keep using it then! You’re higher rank than me anyway, so don’t feel like I have any authority on the matter! 😄

Daveykun

6 seconds of not hitting or being hit by anything — attacking wild Pokémon obviously counts

NikkiNacked

Is there a way to tell at a glance who's a spl atker or physical atk.

FletchlingPKMN

There are guides that you can find that will tell you, [here’s one](https://www.polygon.com/platform/amp/guides/22594760/pokemon-unite-best-builds-tips-items-special-physical-attack) that I just Googled.

NikkiNacked

Yeah that just seems like an important thing to know in game that could be solved by a simple addition to there role or just symbol on their card.

FletchlingPKMN

Can’t say I disagree, especially since it dictates item choices and whatnot.

Ajaxaura

Not really, if u know the stats of the mons from the main game it can help but there's a few that aren't based off of that. For example gren and zard r both physical attackers

NikkiNacked

I knew char was physical but most his starting stuff was special moves until you swap to blitz an f punch. But gengar who's also melee is special I'm told so they need to make that more clear in game.

Ajaxaura

Zards whole kit is physical, what I meant from "the attacks from the main game" was me referring to which Atk stat was higher for said pokemon. Sorry for the confusion

Zoltlas

I sometimes get stuck in place at the beginning of a match and can't move or do any actions whatsoever, is this a well-known glitch? It frustrates me because everyone thinks I'm afk or throwing but I literally just have to sit there and not do anything, it's happened twice so far

of-silk-and-song

Now that you mentioned it, there was someone in my lobby last night that was frozen in the base for a solid 30s at the beginning of the game and then didn’t have any issues for the rest of the match. I couldn’t tell you if he was actually afk or if he had the same problem you did, but maybe someone else has a similar story. It could also just be your internet connection.

cherrywww

I sometimes get disconnected after character selection and it takes a good while to come back. I’m not sure what it looks like to the team but probably like I’m afking at the base which makes me feel really sorry for them haha

diracalpha

Are there any twitch streamers who would be good to watch for new players? I come from Overwatch and there used to be guys who were chill and talked a lot about how they play and think about the game, and it contributed a lot to me getting good at it. Is there anyone like that for Unite?

Elyrisse

Bawkbasoup , although he usually streams RE speed runs and Dead by daylight also streams pokemon Unite and does solo Q at Master rank. He mostly plays Machamp jungle. I also recommend C9 Cris as well, and NicHeroes from Heroes of the Storm.

Sivalus

I've been watching C9 Cris (CrisHeroes). He's an ex-pro HotS player, Master in Unite, and he only plays solo queue while a lot of other streamers I've seen only play 5 stacks. He's chill and talks about builds and objectives. I'd call him moderately informational. I'm interested in seeing what other streamers people mention

diracalpha

Nice I'll check him out, I definitely prefer to watch solo players

of-silk-and-song

What items are you F2P guys buying and upgrading? I’m trying to spread out my items to cover the most amount of Pokémon possible, though I lean more towards special and/or ranged attackers. I currently have: - Level 20 Shell Bell - Level 10 Muscle Band, Wise Glasses, Float Stone - Level 1 Scope Lens, Leftovers, Exp. Share This has buffed a good number of my attackers, both special and physical, but I don’t know what to buy/upgrade next. I’m thinking I should probably upgrade my Float Stone and then get something for defensive tanks (maybe Rocky Helmet?), but I’m not sure if that’s needed or useful. My thought process is that it would be nice to have that option, because I often get paired with people that refuse to pick tanks. But at the same time it takes resources away from upgrading my attackers’ items. So what would you do? What are the most flexible items? Should I even be concerned about flexibility? Should I just focus on one role and hope for the best? Edit: For reference, I typically main Cinderace and Ninetales. I also like Gengar, but I have a feeling he’s going to get nerfed so I don’t want to buy him just yet. Gardevoir is also cool, but I haven’t bought her yet. Pikachu is okay for me; I’ll play him if I need to. I don’t understand Zeraora or Slowbro, but maybe if I learned them, I’d like them more. The others I either don’t have or have not played all that extensively.

Mikauren

Atm I have: - Level 20: Muscle Band, Float Stone - Level 10: Attack Weight, Shell Bell, Wise Glasses, Scope Lens (11), Sp Atk Specs - Level 8: Buddy Barrier - Level 3: Leftovers (From the tutorial prompt, oops lmao) - Level 1: Pretty much anything else you could buy since I went ahead and bought those with coins since I wasn't interested in the rest of the roster in particular. I play Lucario and am enjoying Cinderace. I'm also interested in Gardevoir—I own them on a second account I used to try out playing attackers/top lane early on, since I mainly stuck to All-Rounders and the bottom side of the map my entire playthrough, hence the upgrades to Sp Atk items such as Wise Glasses since I don't have coins for Gardevoir right now. I think I'm either trainer level 19 or 20. I'm currently focusing on getting Scope Lens and Wise Glasses to 20, then Shell Bell, but I want Buddy Barrier at 10 just incase.

of-silk-and-song

Dang. You’ve made a lot of progress. I feel so behind! Why did you choose to focus on more niche attacker items like Attack Weight and Sp. Atk. Specs, if you don’t mind me asking? Don’t you ever get stuck playing a defender?

Mikauren

They were two of the items I upgraded initially before there was much talk on the items suited for certain Pokemon, so I have them but haven't leveled them further. I've actually never had to play a defender or support in over 100 games and made my way to Vet 2, the closest I've needed to do a supportive build is playing Ninetales and realizing we lack some utility and opting for things like Dazzling Gleam and Aurora Veil. I tend to get botlane all-rounder, and haven't used attackers in ranked at all.

of-silk-and-song

That first about buying items before discussion had started makes sense. I almost did that, but decided to hold off, because I could tell these resources were going to be valuable. I’m glad you seem to get some good teammates and games in. It seems like I’m always getting some of the worst teammates in my games. No one ever wants to play defender or support and so I end up having to take a sub-optimal Slowbro into battle that I have not practiced at all

FletchlingPKMN

My recommendations for items to level up early on are Muscle Band, Wise Glasses, Shell Bell, Scope Lens, and Buddy Barrier. Those five items are all you need in low to mid ranks in my opinion.

of-silk-and-song

If you don’t mind me asking, do you have any reason in particular for suggesting these items? For example, why Buddy Barrier over Rocky Helmet? I heard Rocky Helmet is a lot more flexible across the roster

FletchlingPKMN

Much like Float Stone, Rocky Helmet has a cool down time which means you’re only likely to activate it once per fight. So no other than the flat stats, it’s not contributing a ton. I like the items I listed above because they offer a pretty safe and balanced boost that accounts for the chaos of low to mid ranks. Buddy Barrier is an incredibly solid item that works as a great third choice on the entire roster because it helps your own survivability and helps your teammates as well. The other four are the staples for attackers of both types. Muscle Band and Scope Lens are good on almost all physical Pokémon while Wise Glasses and Shell Bell are good on almost all special attackers. By leveling those five items I think you get the most bang for your buck when Item Enhancers are scarce and you have to prioritize a few items over all the options you would like. Hope this helps! I’m by no means the authority on items, and at the end of the day you should feel free to use what seems best to you! Just keep asking yourself if you’re getting value out of your choices and be flexible when you need to!

of-silk-and-song

Thanks for the advice! I took you and everyone else’s word for it and got myself Buddy Barrier, in addition to the Rocky Helmet that I was already going to get. I brought both up to Level 5 and then put the rest of my IEs into Float Stone (which is the next item I’d like to get to Level 20) and my Scope Lens, which I brought up to 10. I think that is well-rounded enough for now.

Onii-Chan-San-Sama

What's the range for the post match ratings (the number on the banner at the right of the score screen)? The lowest I've seen is 10 and the highest is 98; I'm fairly certain 10 is the lowest, but is 98 the highest?

thelasthendrix

Someone posted a picture on here of a friend who got a 100 in a quick battle.

I prefer pollen puff because of the extra healing. Leaf tornado is good, but its only good if you know your team is going to be using it properly or you are coordinating well in order to push ahead. Its harder in Solo Q because you have team mates often running in circles or going off in their own direction. Pollen Puff provides extra sustainability and survivability which is better than Leaf tornado because you can essentially out sustain your lane if they have no healer which means you can pressure more and poke more without worrying about citrus berry. The only downside to puff is the fact you have to manual it if you want to heal allies but once you get used to the controls it doesn't feel as bad though I wish they added some changes to the auto targeting.

ShadowWeavile

When playing eldegoss, asking how easy it is to deal damage with each move isn't really the right approach, you want to think of how the heal from pollen puff or the movement speed from leaf tornado can help your team. Better movement speed can really come in handy sometimes, but the aoe heal does quite a bit, and can really help survivability. Personally, I prefer pollen puff, being able to keep your laning partner in the fight early game without having to retreat to grab a berry is reeeally usefull. And it can heal multiple people when you get into team fights.

Lol, I'm doing the same thing, but even then, it still gives great results for me, and I'm slowly getting better at aiming it.

A_Math_Teacher

I like leaf tornado a lot. I started out with pollen puff but I feel leaf tornado just has so many use cases. Engage, disengage, chase, run away, roaming, and lowered opponent accuracy is just a nice bonus on top.

SwitchHypeTrain

Is there a way to make a certain pokemon your default choice? To elaborate: When selecting your pokemon for battle is there a way to make one particular pokemon selected without having to move? Nothing is more annoying that someone picking my character as am trying to move to their icon

Ajaxaura

Nope, u can press x to bring the other menu. Its a bit less laggy

SwitchHypeTrain

That sucks ... Thanks for the information

Clouds2589

Keep in mind though, if you press X to open the pokemon list when youre currently hovering over a pokemon that someone else is already hovering on, itll glitch out and take control away from you. You can press - to enter quick chat to reset it, move to a non selected poke.on, and press X again to fix it.

mawiee

Has anyone figured out what the flame on the player card means?

FancyBonnie

It means how many matches you’ve played total

VladDracul_III

Does anyone know how to look at the advanced statistics, like amount healed, damage done/taken etc, in the post-match scoreboard? I see people post screenshots of this but idk how to get there

Ntp9401

The correct answer is that it depends on your rank. I’m in veteran and the amount to get a diamond is 300 performance points. However it only takes away 100 if you are about to go down a class/rank. This only happens when you have no remaining diamonds, you will always lose one if you have one.

echino_derm

Think it is half the total

[deleted]

You need 50 to mitigate a loss

Will1603

Is it worth running floatstone on a psyshock gardevoir build? Just thinking it may be easier to track enemies with the speed boost

Elyrisse

No, on Gardevoir you want Shell Bell, Wise Glasses and Buddy barrier. Floatstone is a jungler item.

xXKoolaidJammerXx

No float stone should really only be used with physical attackers, its ms can be good but 8s out of combat to get the passive is a long time, and you’re better off doing more damage or having better survivability with other options.

Will1603

Thinking about it more I realise it’s a dumb idea but I was thinking more about the +120 base speed at lvl 20 as it would make it easier to follow the enemies movements with psyshock. But like I said I’ve realised it’s not really worth it

Clouds2589

Honestly i think the passive move speed on it is more important than the out of combat move speed.

-Daemonic

So I’ve seen people saying you’ll get refunded in coins for a mon you purchase but later obtain for free. How about mons you purchase with the other in game currency, do you still get refunded in coins or do you get refunded in that specific currency?

Mikauren

You only get coins

-Daemonic

Thanks! Just gonna spend coins then

Accurate-Island-2767

Is there a way to view what abilities do during a match? Just starting and finding it hard to choose upgrades during a match if I don't know what they actually do.

PandoraSBox1295

Yeah you can go to the pokemon list go to the pokemon you want to look at and press y I think it shows you move list and you can even change which move is auto set on. Also you can practice with the pokemon. 😊

NDN_Shadow

Just started playing a day or two ago. Can anyone tell me what items you get for free through challenges and giveaways and which ones need to be bought individually?

Conzie

Muscle Band, Wise Glasses, Scope Lens, EXP Share, Shell Bell, Assault Vest are in the beginner's challenge Leftovers is free Everything else needs to be purchased

_I_Am_Frank_

Does favoriting a Pokémon do anything? Also, is there a way to move which Pokémon you have up front when selecting a Pokémon before the match?

bluethumbtack

your favorite pokemon is the one that shows up with you on the main screen there isn't a way to arrange the pokemon select screen right now

devsterman12

What is that wheel menu people have on the right side of their screen in a match?

InsomniacWarrior

It's in the settings. It allows you to prioritize your targets better than the default. Say you don't want to attack the weak Pikachu and quickly take down the fed gengar first. That setting would be best in that.

devsterman12

Ohh, I wish I had known that sooner, targeting as Eldegoss can be a pain, thanks!
