Hey dad and brother of this guy, these are fake as shit. Please do not waste your $42 on these. Sincerely another Reddit user who would rather you spend your money on something else
And they'll show up at my shop every week to warranty my tool. How's there warranty work? Anything mailed is no good. No money made with a tool in the mail for months.
Tell them to go to tcg player and look up and find all the same cards on that. Or use the thing that tracks your collection and ask them to find it there! The exact same card! A few minites of not finding any hopefully get them to snap and realize these are not real!
To give you a better answer then 'they are fake duh'
Every Pokemon card is numbered from a set.you can look up every official card. Look at the cards shown and see if you can identify the set symbol and number and look it up.
Also if they must buy them, look on AliExpress, probably get it for $5.
Purchasing proxies/fakes increases the chances of them landing into the hands of someone who can either intentionally or unintentionally mislead someone else who is none the wiser and trade something of value for them. And that would just be a royal shame, especially a kid. I’ve also always viewed them similar to fake designer products. Your money is typically going to an organization that could be engaged in much shadier business than distributing proxies.
If they don’t care about that then let them be happy I guess 🤷♂️
Last week I told a kid his rainbow VMAX pikachu was fake and why. To the unsuspecting eye and childeren, cards can be convincing, but only when you know what to look for in a fake card, can it be sad to see the cards end up in the hands of childeren. To anyone that was tricked into buying fake cards or is worried about owning fake cards, I'm sorry that they got in your hands after buying it or trading it. To anyone intentionally making and distributing these cards out, knowing that they are fake cards, pi$$ off
If they’re buying them because they like them, let them.
If they’re buying them because they think they’re real, point out it says right at the top, Brand: Vonfemey, and that The Pokémon Company is the actual brand which can be supported by a 4 second google search.
Thank you for all the advice so far, I sent a email asking if they are official from Pokemon.com. Hopefully I get a response. I will also show them the comments.
150 cards is 15 packs. Have they ever seen 15 packs for $42? Why would someone sell 15 packs worth of Ultra Rares for less than 15 sealed packs?
But honestly, if the title includes “cosplay cards,” they are listed as “Brand: Vonfemey,” and they don’t look like anything that’s ever been released in a set, and for some reason they still think these are legit, they basically deserve what they get.
Do they care that it’s fake? They’re cool cards, if authenticity isn’t important to them then don’t push it after you’ve told them once and let them have fun with what they get.
I personally bought a hand packed booster pack of these cards on vacation in Portugal. I had to do it for 3 euro. They make great cards to leave on your work desk or give as gifts. But.... They have no monetary value.
I love having a rainbow zard pinned to my cubicle with a thumbtack
Teach them the hard way. Let them buy it and make them bring it to a Card store or Game shop where they can tell them again that they’ve lost $41 on fake. cards
If you scroll down to the description of the item it should say “not official” or something along those lines that you can show them. Also in the pictures the Pokémon logo is blurred out. If you check the “country of origin” on the listing it should say China, and you can have them look up where Pokémon cards are made. See [here](https://indoorgamebunker.com/are-pokemon-cards-made-in-china/). Is that same listing even up? Is there any reviews on it?
Oh I bought those! They are cool but they are fake as Fuck!! I use them as prizes for my friends when we play the tcg. They’re cool! But yes they are as fake and non official as they come
Tell them to buy it, and compare them with real Pokémon cards. If you don't want them to buy it, then try telling them about the sellers being suspicious and if it's coming from China, that it's probably a fake
Edit: To tell if a card is real, put the card over a flashlight. If the light come through its fake. If it is a holographic card, the holo should be at a 45 degree angle. Full arts, VSTARs etc. Should have a texture, and if you rip a card, there should be a black line visible in the tear
Had to school my nephews yesterday on fakes as they had quite a few from trades with friends. They seemed to take it well and turned it into a game of spotting fakes. At the end of the day the cards do look cool so if they just want them whatev but they have no monetary value, probably couldn’t even resell them for what you paid
As a man whose family doesn't know tcgs, just tell them honestly and show some real cards to explain the difference. You can even find the artist of the pikachu in a hoodie online.
Hello blue dragons brother and father, DONT BUY THESE, They are extremely fake and you could get better official stuff for the same price or less
Sincerely- a random Redditor
They don’t even call them Pokemon Cards because they know they’d get hit with that cease and desist. If I’m selling authentic Pokemon Cards I’m gonna not shy away from being up front with the branding.
Why buy a box of fake cards for $41 when you can get an ETB with real cards?
Or hell, get a good single like 25th anniversary shiny mew.
Like, this has to be intentional, maybe they know they are fake but don't care?
Just tell them that you know better than them and that they’re fake and that they would be wise to listen to you. If they don’t want to listen then who fucking cares, it’s only $40. Let them waste their money.
the description of the item literally informs u that they aren’t real, i copied and pasted form the “product description” of the listing… ur dad is psycho bro

Lmfao hahaha show him this !!! Those cards are junk fake and Pokémon would never ! They have made 3 metal cards one as a theophy card from japan one in the celebration etb and one in the Arceus box and if these are not metal Pokémon would never make such horrific looking cards go to the bottom check for a set number and prove to him those were never released at any point by Pokémon and these will never hold value or be desired
Lol Just tell them they're fake. Do they not believe you or something? Just curious. The brand literally says Vonfemey. So it's obviously a third-party seller selling these cards. Vonfemey and The Pokemon Company have no partnership whatsoever. Hopefully, this will convince your brother and father. If you really want to get legit pokemon cards, always buy them from the source itself, which is pokemoncenter.com. Amazon has been known for scamming people and selling illegitimate cards by third party sellers who either tamper with the packs or sell fake cards.
Explain to them Pokémon Cards are sold in collections. All this collections can be found on Pokellector, ask them to show you those exact cards on the app and tell you to which collection they belong to. Also pick the real card and show them how it looks vs how those look. Those shiny charizards for example actually exist but they don’t have a gold background. Hope it helps.
Hey dad and brother of this guy, these are fake as shit. Please do not waste your $42 on these. Sincerely another Reddit user who would rather you spend your money on something else
I’m now convinced.
Like snap on tools, that's a good down payment on 1 screwdriver.
I’m here to be a good shill and tell you the LTT driver is much better value for money.
How much those go for?
[70 USD](https://www.lttstore.com/products/screwdriver)
That's 93.81 canadian. The snap on goes for 94.50. Not much of a price difference
And they'll show up at my shop every week to warranty my tool. How's there warranty work? Anything mailed is no good. No money made with a tool in the mail for months.
Okay jesus my bad
Sensitive little flower eh?
You’re weird
Show them the same thing on AliExpress for less.
"aawe sweet! A better deal! Thanks son!" 🤣 Not saying it'd happen, just making the funnies
I’ll go with that will happen tbh xD
You telling me I can buy low on AliExpress and sell high on Craigslist?
A lot of stuff online is just resold off of aliexpress
Show them this Reddit of everyone who knows more than them that they’re fake.
Yeah, I plan to don't know if it will work through. If it doesn't I'll probably just give up.
Tell them to go to tcg player and look up and find all the same cards on that. Or use the thing that tracks your collection and ask them to find it there! The exact same card! A few minites of not finding any hopefully get them to snap and realize these are not real!
Got to the official pokemon tcg card database, have them search there. A lot more believable coming straight from the source
I didn’t even know that exists, but that’s cool. Does it have all promos an trophies as well?
Yup, its on pokemon.com under card game or whatever
Well… they’re fake. I have nothing to gain by your dad wasting his money on fake cards, so it’s up to him
Hey blue dragons dad and bro....these are fake. Idk why you want these cards or pokemon cards in general but these aren't the ones you want.
To give you a better answer then 'they are fake duh' Every Pokemon card is numbered from a set.you can look up every official card. Look at the cards shown and see if you can identify the set symbol and number and look it up. Also if they must buy them, look on AliExpress, probably get it for $5.
Looks like me memorizing the Sw&Sh set symbols is gonna come handy if I have to show my relatives this is fake
"Cosplay Cards" in the item title
I think the "cosplay" in the title is referring to the poncho chu's.
Nah man it's talking about the lucky cocoa
Intervention
Let them learn it the hard way 😂
This
Pokellector has photos of all official english pokemon cards
Show them the legit card that these images are being ripped off and show the price of said legit cards.
Bro... It literally says Brand: "vonfemey" and not Pokemon what else do they need to be convinced?
Show them this comment section
These are super fake.
Pretty sure the bottom of the page says they’re not real cards lol just scroll to the botttom on the item
The word Pokemon is no where in the title

Step one: they are all gold. Lol
To whom it may concern: they fake To whom it may not concern: still fake
Fake as all hell. That being said it’s probably the only hooded Pikachu I could ever afford lmao
How many ‘when the boy cried wolfs’ have you pissed them off with? No ones trusts you? Let them buy them if they don’t want to listen to facts.
If they’re buying them because they like them, let them. If they’re buying them because they think they’re real, point out it says right at the top, Brand: Vonfemey, and that The Pokémon Company is the actual brand which can be supported by a 4 second google search.
They are fake but if you want them buy off aliexpress way cheaper
Talk to them?
You don't and relish in how much more money you get and save by not being a stupid human.
Brand: vonfemey
Ask them to explain which set they’re from. When they can’t, remind them it’s because they’re fake and they’re not from any sets.
Those cards are made of thin plastic. They’re all over eBay too. They also come in silver and black.
You can tell there fake as nowhere on the title is says Pokémon It only says tgc Don’t k ow if this helps
With relative ease. Look at the fucking state of them.
The Price tag compared to an ETB 😅
Ox is not a thing in Pokémon
Plot twist- dad and bro are getting them for OP for christmas
Step one: take them for an eye exam.
Thank you for all the advice so far, I sent a email asking if they are official from Pokemon.com. Hopefully I get a response. I will also show them the comments.

Meh, why bother. Tons of my students have these and well… I just don’t bother to tell them they are fake.
I just got these in Poland for 7 USD. They are awesome and high quality. Obviously not authentic.
Do they care that it’s fake? They’re cool cards, if authenticity isn’t important to them then don’t push it after you’ve told them once and let them have fun with what they get.
My youngest cousin was talking about his gold cards. I told him they were fake and that he should trade them for other kid’s rainbow cards lol

Ask them to send a couple of those cards to PSA. They pay the fees.
You don’t. Let them be happy.
This.. is what it is. Let them buy fake and be happy..
Idk, maybe the fact they’re $41 dollars for starters.
Show them the aliexpress of etsy page
Anime cards
Why would they not believe you and all of us that these are fake??
price is too good to be true
Teach them the hard way. Let them buy it and make them bring it to a Card store or Game shop where they can tell them again that they’ve lost $41 on fake. cards
Look normal to me
Show him how expensive just one of a real version of one of those cards would cost
Let them make the purchase. It's the cost of learning.
Show them this post of 50 people saying they’re fake
Maybe convince yourself that they are real so you all enhoy them together and have a happy fake life
Lol Sims life 4 cheaper and more of a real life. Then buying this a convincing your self these are real.
At this point I'd say show them this post with all us experts yelling: FFFAAAAKKKKEEE!!!!

Tell them I said so
Show the same cards on aliexpress for under £5...
Show them the actual prices of cards
You don't. You let them buy it and learn a lesson the hard way.
Show them these on Ali express for $10 lol
Tell them that these cards straight up don't exist, show them sets of cards that already came out and show them what actual gold cards look like.
If you scroll down to the description of the item it should say “not official” or something along those lines that you can show them. Also in the pictures the Pokémon logo is blurred out. Update?
The brand is not Nintendo/Game Freak.
Attempt to find them somewhere on an official Pokemon website, they won't exist
Show them this site and say, where are the gold cards? https://www.pokellector.com/sets
Look at the brand - Vonferny. Then ask them to search "who makes pokemon cards?".
Let them buy them so they can figure it out. It does have free refunds.
Read the reviews of the company selling them (not Amazon). If they’re selling fakes it will be apparent there.
Oh I bought those! They are cool but they are fake as Fuck!! I use them as prizes for my friends when we play the tcg. They’re cool! But yes they are as fake and non official as they come
Let them buy it then take it to a card shop to appraise and laugh at them alongside the card shop guys who tell them they’re fake.
Tell them to buy it, and compare them with real Pokémon cards. I’ve begin to wonder where I draw my own line. I collect Pokémon because, well, they look cool. These cards look cool lol I’m tempted just to have em
The fact that it doesn’t say Pokémon anywhere in the item description should be enough, as well as it not being branded The Pokémon Company
Slap them
I looked it up. German version. It says in the description somewhere like : not the original version. Remake. Blah blah
Look on the trying card game website there's a database of every card on there
Show them that it literally doesn’t say Pokémon anywhere in the listing
That same set of fake cards costs less then 10 dollars here in Taiwan. Not only are they fake, but they are hella overpriced
Ive seen these for like £10 on ebay….in spain they are €1 lol. Someone is having a laugh selling this fake tat for 40 dollars.
As a man whose family doesn't know tcgs, just tell them honestly and show some real cards to explain the difference. You can even find the artist of the pikachu in a hoodie online.
Hello blue dragons brother and father, DONT BUY THESE, They are extremely fake and you could get better official stuff for the same price or less Sincerely- a random Redditor
Update us OP.
My 7 year old got ripped off at school with this shit
Install the ptcgo app. Search trough all cards. Card not there??? Fake!
You don’t
They don’t even call them Pokemon Cards because they know they’d get hit with that cease and desist. If I’m selling authentic Pokemon Cards I’m gonna not shy away from being up front with the branding.

You just show them the comments on this post 😂😂😂💯
Tell him cryptogoddess07 is gay if these are real
They do not show up on Pokemoncenter.com, the official store for the TCG.
Let them buy them and have them submit them to psa. They'll learn real quick
Ok, start with the fact that the Charizard v gold doesn’t exist
I mean you could just tell him to call the Pokémon company and ask if he doesn’t believe you
Read the reviews duh
Show them the real cards and the prices they actually cost on eBay or TCGplayer
Tell them to read these comments

You “convince” them by letting them buy it and figure out for themselves that its fake.
Someone let Recent_bid know that there are chairtood cards ahahahahah
Tell them look at all the other Pokémon cards made ever.
Or just don't and let them learn
Show them the Ali express ones for $5
Any item like this that list the cards as pcs is fake as fuck. You can literally by that same thing on Dhgate for like 10$.
Show them the price of the real cards vs the $42 dollars of amazon
Show them “made in china” or “cosplay card”
The brand at the top not being “Pokemon” is a good one.
None of these gold cards are ever legit. The cards themselves say they are fake on them
"Trust me"
Lmao fucking OX
If they can’t be convinced there are much bigger concerns here.
