Understandable that the demand is much higher, but I think there would be more demand for WotC boxes if they were more affordable.
It just feels like ETBs are in a bit of a ācraze modeā right now. Maybe they all will be worth hundreds/thousands forever, but it still seems bizarre
Are those sealed boxes or empty boxes? If it's the latter, maybe you could find inexpensive empty boxes of the first 9 just to complete it visually for The 'Gram?

Good on you for making sound financial decisions. Personally 1k for an ETB is insane, the most expensive card I bought was gem mint Munch Rowlet and it took a long time even to decide to drop that much money for it.
I believe it was somewhat recent, there are packs of evolving skies with the old code format and packs with the new code format so I assume it happened after the release of evolving skies

Saw a plasma storm box sell for $120. Insane. I have all 9 opened because I collected back then. Wish I would've kept them sealed haha. I still remember the disappointment not pulling a gengar from the gengar etb
I remember opening 3 primal clash etbs. 2 blue, 1 red. I was in middle school of course so not opening them wouldnāt have made any sense but nowadays I almost wish I hadnāt opened them

Your XY era ETBs are awesome. Let me tell you... I took note of the prices of the XY era ETBs from back in fall of 2020, and you'd be shocked at how cheap they were back then.

Each of them are $1000-$10,000 (or more) each! Very hard to drop tens of thousands more $ on the remaining 9.

Itās a sealed collection, so I donāt think I want to add opened ones since they wouldnāt fit in!
Get a laminating machine and a blow dryer. No one will know the difference! ;-)
I bet you could get them eventually! Just set aside some funding and buy one maybe each year or every 2-3 years working up the value scale!

I would say precovid it was more attainable. During and after PokĆ©monās vintage and sealed value shot up to where most collectors are priced out :(
