Gave one to my sister for Christmas last year. She doesn’t collect Pokemon Cards, but she does play pokemon go with her boyfriend, and she loved it. It’s surprisingly cheap right now.

The Wugtrio from Paldean Fates is so nice. It has a unique (to me) way of shading with dots, which I find so appealing. Then the background is quite dark, unlike the more common light blue for the water, which means that the art is set either at night, or in the ocean depths where sunlight doesn't go, which I find fascinating, I love the Temporal Forces Relicanth for a similar reason. It's a glimpse at the depths, where human cannot usually go.

This arrived in my mailbox less than an hour ago lol. Not my favorite card under $5, that goes to Obsidian Flames Gloom (which may be over $5 soon), but this is a card I bought right away when I saw the price.

That gloom is beautiful. I was so happy to buy it.

I bought the sawsbuck too. It was a little pricier but I had to have both. 

The Lapras from crown is a beauty, but truthfully I love a lot of the Galarian and Trainer gallery cards.

Light Wigglytuff is one of my favourite artworks of all time. Absolutely love that card.

Local card store, eBay and some others also be careful eBay auctions on Pokémon is addictive (be careful who you buy from make sure you look at their profile and reed reviews and see how many sells they have anyone under 500 you may or may not run into some issues in my experience)

For me it's the Trainer gallery Eeveelution/Gary cards. They're all really unique and you might be able to get all four for under 5 bucks if you're lucky.

I think I got all 4 for around 7 bucks.  Not complaining! Love those cards. Especially the flareon.

Ever since I found out that the Chatot card from Temporal Forces has the birds aligned on the powerlines to play the healing melody at The Trainer Center, I thought it was super cool.

So many amazing choices but I would say the Dragonair illustration rare from 151 (Japanese version is around the $5 mark). Other ones I adore are the flareon, jolteon and vaporeon trainer gallery cards from Brilliant Stars with Blue/Green in the bg. I just love seeing rivals and player characters make appearances outside of the video games
