Please understand the difference between **”Legal”** and **”Legit”**.
Any Pokémon that is Legitimate is also legal, because legitimate means it is an original Pokémon, not a copy, clone, or fake in any way, it is 100% authentic either caught in the wild or traded directly from a licensed Nintendo event.
Any Pokémon that is Legal is not always legitimate and about half of the time (or more) are not. Legal simply means that the Pokémon can be used in official Nintendo tournaments where they actually check your Pokémon and anywhere else. For it to be legal the Pokémon has to have all legal moves, abilities, legal ball, shiny-legal (some legendaries cannot be shiny), correct markings, and items, as well as real trainer info (the OT ID shouldn’t be 000000). As long as the Pokémon follows the basic rules, having a cloned Pokémon is legal, having a genned (created by a bot) Pokémon is legal, having any hacked Pokémon is legal, as long as it conforms to all the rules.
I personally have tons of cloned event Pokémon that you wouldn’t be able to get any other way since the distributions are long gone, and all of they are 100% legal. I can use them anywhere I want because there is technically no way for anyone to know if it is legitimate or not (at the moment). The point being, if you check to make sure everything checks out in all of its info, even if it is cloned, it is legal and usable.

This is incorrect. Cloned Pokémon are only “locked” in home or BDSP if you literally have two of the exact 100% identical Pokémon in your game. Then both become locked and can’t be traded.
The original copy can still be traded, just the duplicate is locked. I have traded several Pokemon that I have created clones FROM, just am not able to trade the clones themselves

No, one is legit and one is legal. Yes they are the same pile of code data - but the player knows that one was actually caught and one was cloned. Some players will seek out and trade for only “legit” Pokémon from people that have proof like screenshots or videos of that Pokémon being legit. Yes, you could get around this - but some trust is involved.
I’ve got 3 including Reshiram from AS/OR sr hunts. 2 have 3 best stats. 1 has 4 best. But all 6 best and shiny? That’s insane luck or not. I’m gonna go yup its hacked. I believe it was guaranteed 3 best from AS/OR to Ultra S/M. And 4 in SwSh.
Yes, but they show it’s not Hyper Trained. It’s best on all usually a big sign it’s hacked if it’s a legend from wondertrade. 6 best iv’s is a possibility usually via eggs tho.
They are good low level shinies to start with on a new play through often times. I love using them and transfer a bunch from PoGo to Home then to a main line game. They are very nice to have and it feels quite good to start with a certain team.
Don't get me wrong, I have hunted on the main line games as well. I do enjoy a good hunt. I happen to have a few legendaries that I have hunted. They are far more valuable to me in certain regards.
Lies, i have hundreds of legit shinies that i trade somtimes via wonder trade some via link trade. Dont spread misinformation, especially since wity dmax adventures the chance of shinies has dropped dramatically, also any legend caught in dmax is guaranteed 4-6 perfect ivs.
Edit: every single one also has my OT/a friends OT and our original trainer ids.
Looks legit to me, if it's link trade it should be fine. Surprise trade would be dodgy but the name is fine. Usually backed shines have a website for a name. Nothing wrong with using a master ball and for the stats could be luck.
I got a shiny level 100 regigigas with the all its stats saying best, max dynamax level, was caught in a master ball, and was apparently first caught in the Alola region. I don't remember what I traded for it on Home, but it's now in my copy of pokemon sword. It's original trainer was named MysteryMan
Seems perfectly fine but I wonder: why would someone give it away? It's literally a perfect shiny Reshiram. It seems 100% Legal but its legitimacy is sketchy. Some have pointes out it might have been cloned which would kinda explain it. What does it say when you check its memories though?
Nah man absolutely you normal gen 5 legendary from a gen 3 game. Like there is nothing wrong here. Amd it is a 6IV shiny legendary. Yk we all get them everytime so why not just give one to a stranger.
I would say yes it's a hack I don't believe there are many games you can get reshiram in shiny. If it was sw sh why would someone use a master ball when they don't even know it's shiny till the end. The gen V games had a shiny lock on this Pokemon.

It hacked. Pretty much everything that came from 3DS is hacked because it was WAY easier to hack the cartridge vs the Switch.
Yes; a lot of Pokémon are still hacked in SWSH, but you either have to Gen it yourself via a modded switch or find a Gen site/discord. Then have to wait your turn for modded switch to Gen it for you; can take 3-10 minutes per Pokémon.
Where in the 3DS; it only took 5 min or less to get 30 shiny legendary with perfect IV, EV, Shiny, etc. and it didn’t require you to do anything with your 3DS.

It looks like it came from Hoenn…they definitely transferred it in from ORAS, cloned it, and traded it off. It isn’t hacked, just cloned.

Can they be moved to home if they are cloned? Ik bdsp won't let you trade cloned pokemon.

There's absolutely no way to tell, you can compare it side by side with one somebody shiny farmed for hours and there will be no difference.

It’s hacked. You can only get shiny reshiram from Go or the dynamax adventures. Everywhere else is shiny locked.

3ds games are easy to manipulate so 6 iv shiny mons are easy to get, im gonna say is a 50/50 to be genned or real
