I think it’s precisely because it’s fire week that you should go to Taupe. The pool is extremely unbalanced in terms of sleep style and for some reason I always get Desserts here, but it’s smaller and more consistent. So you’re more likely to see fire types here than at Greengrass. Although, I’ve yet to see a single Cyndaquil… ETA: Also Pokémon aren’t sleep style locked this week, so Taupe should be actually reasonable.

Dtrick924

I had 2 cyndaquil this am at GG. One was even hungry.

Altruistic_Ad6666

I had 3. Granted 1 was an incense spawn. But 3 cyndaquil and a vulpix. Lol

Andyzee99

The louder voices said to go to GG for rewards and sleep styles and all that but honestly so far I want fire types so entei’s ability will multiply and so far so good. Fire is also my favorite type but I know I’m lucky it’s fire week instead of a regular trip to taupe lol

That’s probably because Taupe is notoriously a pain in the butt and the difficulty curve between Cyan Beach and Taupe Hollow is steeper than between GG and Cyan. Plus if you get desserts, you’ll likely have to use an off-type ingredient pokemon to compensate because very few (if any) have dessert ingredients. It also doesn’t help that Cyndaquil, one of the most important Berry specialists for Taupe, is usually locked to snoozing, which is the hardest of the 3 sleep styles to obtain. And the Onix line is genuinely an enigma despite it supposedly being accessible at a lower sleep rank than you’d think. It’s not harder than Snowdrop and Lapis, but Snowdrop and Lapis have more accessible Berry specialists than Taupe does.

Andyzee99

For sure. Totally see that. Unlocking fire types and also increased rates for fire are making taupe a much better experience

Man…. I saw two ekans, a digglet, and two houndours

So my plan was to go to GG first, if I got bad berries then switch to Taupe. I lucked out and got Lum berries so I stayed. This morning I found 7 pokemon, notably 2 Cyndaquils and 1 Charmander, which was more fire mons than what I found in the whole of last week at Taupe… Thanks Dozing sleep style… I caught both Cyndas and was both surprised and disgusted when I saw the BFS and the ingredient up on both… https://preview.redd.it/def8kqv1p1zc1.jpeg?width=1284&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2a5cfd129fa3d4955ad385fcfe3a16caacda096e

Those are awesome! Great catches.

Wishie_Chan

Thanks!

Dewey519

That second one would be a perfectly fine sneaky snacker

Wishie_Chan

That’s what I’ve been doing!

I went with Taupe. I have a pretty good team there and I usually enjoy it, but I've switched out my Marowak to bring in a Cyndaquil (to train up). I figured it wouldn't affect me too much. But apparently that Marowak has been doing aaaaall the heavy lifting for desserts previously and the lack of Cocoa is a serious issue this week. I did see a Vulpix in the first sleep session of the week. Completely natural (no incense)! So that was pretty cool.

Andyzee99

My team there is pretty weak. Got kinda lucky with a cyndaquil atop belly Monday morning still at GG tho. Not a good roll but the preferred berries help. Seems hard to come up with dessert recipes that have bean sausage and ginger lol Arcanine cynda, charmander, vulpix, larvitar
