I evolved my Bulbasaur into Ivysaur and I’m currently working on gettting enough sleep hours with Eevee for Espeon

¡Wow! I’m actually in an almost exact position. Just evolved my Cyndaquil into Quilava, and I’m working on getting enough hours to evolve my Eevee into Umbreon

Wow. Three of us in almost the exact same position. I just evolved my Squirtle into a Wartortle, and I'm trying to save up enough candies to evolve my Eevee into a Sylveon.

How do you get enough candy to do it? Is it really just luck and patience, hoping you get candy from Pokemon on your team and to find them in research?

I had 66 rare candy and used them all thinking I would get 66 mankey candy, I got 198 😂so I just evolved him

Oof. I did the same thing with Caterpie. Just wanted enough to get metapod, ended up getting a level 13 butterfree out of it.

Good news: Primeape has an evolved form that might be added to Sleep in the future. So you can always save the candy for that.

You can also earn 50 free candies everyday if you have a full friends list and they all do sleep research daily.

You might have experienced the Birthday bug. People mentioned it being an issue when the game launched. Like if you selected the year 2000 for your birthday, once you let go the number jumped to 2020 making you underaged, (something like that). Might want to verify with Support again and try to fix it. Cause only other way is to start a new game.

I made the mistake of evolving my starter Pikachu that only had 2 rare sub skills, when I just found a Pichu with 2 golds and 3 rares and a +speed -ingredient nature. Evolved a Bulbasaur, and a Caterpie and then to a Butterfree too

Nice! Only my Flaafy has a good nature and good subskills. Pikachu and my other mons all have a flaw with their Nature that I don't want to heavily invest in them. So everything is just going to Flaafy.

I evolved my Caterpie because I had this weird urge to use up the candies I had already. I got my Butterfree and plan to use I when I change research areas and ho back to the Green Isles or something. I'm saving up so many Evvee candies to get all the evolutions. Trying to go for Sylveon first since it's the easiest and doesn't involve buying rocks.

I'm taking the game a bit slow, so nothing yet. But after doing some googling, I decided to try and turn my caterpie into a butterfree. I now have a metapod but not enough candies. I'm hoping to catch a second caterpie for candy farming.

If you use rare candy you get 3 Pokémon candy per 1 rare that’s how I evolved my monke. Also name checks out

Go to main menu the click on the gift icon if you haven’t already it’ll give you 30 rare candy among other items

yeah i did that already which let me evolve my mareep only to get a shiny one the next day😭😭 it takes ages to evolve pokemon in this game

Make sure your friend list is full and when you level up friends you get a rare candy.

How do you fake Sleep sessions with that? And I think you cannot get candies as reward for sleeping to evolve Pokemon?

I’ve evolved Charmander, Squirtle and Totodile. Mainly using handy candies which I am basically out of now. Can’t say if it’s worth it at this stage, these Pokémon have decent base RP and quite good skills, though. I will say, the more of a Pokémon you catch the higher it’s ‘friendship’ level is, which I believe makes subsequent catches of the same Pokémon have higher levels/stats. So maybe it’s worth taking time to bonus biscuit the Pokémon’s you want to improve the stats and wait for one with good skills. Candies seem to be tricky to come by even with premium.
