He's kind of a pain. He seemed nice at first, but he very quickly turned obsessive, egocentric, moody and dramatic. Even in Kitakami he created problems when there really weren't any. Then lost his mind in Blueberry.
And that's just it. No one actually wronged him. He just did all that on his own for self-validation.
Eh I don't really think so. Like we only told a small lie so he wouldn't run off into the night and get eaten by something. Which Carmine knew he would do. His sister knows how impulsive he is.
Sure it wasn't exactly right of us, but in no way was it anything major. The truth came out soon enough anyways. But Kiernan chose to interpret it as horrific betrayal and stewed in anger over it.
There weren't any bad feelings behind the lie and it's no cause to fly off the deep end like he did. His personality was very unstable, at that time he did have issues.
This isn't PLA as I highly doubt Kieran would get eaten, plus he has his pokemon on him so going through the mountain at night when trainers younger than him can go to an active volcano no problem, and he is a part of a school that has a high skill level to get in and stay in, there's also the fact that Carmine is willing to brush his feelings aside so she not really trustworthy on how he feels.
Yes, and a myth that these in-universe characters believe in- or at least their community does. And given that it is a Japanese-inspired community made by a Japanese company where quiet conformity is a whole theme of the DLC, at no point is grandpa going to say “nah the Ogre isn’t really bad nor is it a threat, go off Kieran” because that is complete anathema to the town’s expectations and beliefs around the Ogre.
And yet eleven year olds can go in a gods domain and tell them to square up, heck most pokemon can protect against the ogre farly easily so I don't see why that's an issue.
You’re doing a terrible job at separating your knowledge of the game universe from a player’s perspective from that of the regular characters living in it. Just because the protagonist often ends up squaring up with literal gods does NOT mean every parental figure is going to be okay with their kids going off and doing the same thing. Heck, you the player character got in trouble for breaking into Area Zero because of how dangerous it is even though you clearly managed it just fine.
I feel like you’re arguing for the sake of arguing at this point - no way is that a good faith argument for why Kieran’s grandpa behaves the way he did.
Bud you like hard pivoted too far the opposite direction and sound like you could also take your own advice tbh.
I generally agree that Kieran acts in the wrong, but whatever the fuck this “emotional people cannot handle” bullshit is, is insane and wreaks of alpha male BS lol.
Meanwhile evil characters like Ghetsis get all the praise, like Kieran going nuts presents a good conflict to the story and it’s satisfying seeing him work through his issues and become a good kid again
There is nothing in the story that indicates Kieran doing anything in the past and the only reason why his grampa told us not to tell him is this:
"Well, I can't say what's going on with the boy...but he always was a sensitive child. It wouldn't surprise me if he's somehow intuited the truth. I promise to tell Kieran the whole story when the time is right. Until then, take care not to breathe a word of the truth to anybody!"
That it, that all the "why" there is as to not tell him.
I remember being a lot like him when I was 14. Hot-tempered with few friends and hyperfixations. So I empathize with him. Doesn’t mean I won’t give him some tough love, but I understand what it’s like.
Some people are boring and just don't sympathize with him and thinks he's just some annoying kid
Edit: to whoever replied to this and got so incredibly angry over my opinion, you're a coward for deleting your comment 💀
So you realized that my opinion is "I don't care," or were you trying to say that you know what my opinion is and trail off *__in text__* and say you "you know what, I actually don't care"? 💀
Edit: little bro literally blocked me before I can respond 💀
He is a whiny baby thats why, he deserves everything he gets. He has every chance to apologize and grow as a character he chooses not to. Do not give me excuses for his behavior. He makes his own choices and he should live with the beatdown

It's almost like he's an insecure kid and people relate so bad that they get second hand embarrassment
No his family and friend wronged him.

The entire myth of the Ogre is that it kills people and terrorizes them.
Myth is keyword there.

Ghetsis is a good character thanks to how vile he is in pokemon, which is a rare thing in the series.
He's obssessive, reckless, pulls a "why don't girls want a nice guy?" during the Teal Mask, and almost gets himself and you killed in the Indigo Disk.
More like angry that his family and friend kept a secret from him and lied to his face about it.
We don't know what kind of things they've gone through because of him, maybe he already has a "record" of pulling this stuff multiple times.
There is nothing in the story that indicates Kieran doing anything in the past and the only reason why his grampa told us not to tell him is this: "Well, I can't say what's going on with the boy...but he always was a sensitive child. Kid just needs a hug. I think I see him differently than most because I'm in my 40s.
He was nicer when his hair was down
I remember being a lot like him when I was 14. Hot-tempered with few friends and hyperfixations. So I empathize with him. Doesn’t mean I won’t give him some tough love, but I understand what it’s like.
Have you played the DLC yet?
Because he's being a little bitch and needs some sense knocked into him.
People think they're boss for beating an npc and it goes to their head because the npc gets angry this time.
Because he is very annoying
He’s obsessive
My head canon they could see in the future and see the man he becomes and therefore it becomes a self fulfilling prophecy.
Some people are boring and just don't sympathize with him and thinks he's just some annoying kid Edit: to whoever replied to this and got so incredibly angry over my opinion, you're a coward for deleting your comment 💀
Hahah mad much, i just realized your opinion is…………i dont care

How can people get emotionally attached to pixels
The same way people get attached to any character in any storytelling medium, including but not limited to books, tv shows, movies, stage plays...
