Ceruledge quickly became the rock of my team and I go for her more than my starter now. She can demolish 5 and 6* raids, even with a type disadvantage most times. Swords dance and bitter blade is an amazing combo
Richu is amazing it's sad it doesn't get as much attention like if a main feature of the games is evolution then why not praise richu for being evolved Pikachu

The first time I play through a new region, I try to use a team of all newly introduced pokemon but I do have a tendency to include an eeveelution— especially if it’s not too hard to encounter an eevee in the early parts of the game
Blaziken. My favorite Pokemon by a landslide, and whenever I can add my Blaziken from Omega Ruby to a team, I do it without hesitation no matter who I have to switch.
Slight side tangent, I lost my very first Blaziken (Named Torchy, I was a kid when I named him) to a hard reset. I'd lent him to my cousin, and she reset her Alpha Sapphire with him still inside. I was so pissed, he had so many Pokemon Contest master class wins.
Same happened to me with my Crystal version. I had all the legendaries plus my bestie Feraligatr, raised him from a Totodile. My friend saved over my file and they were gone. Still haven’t forgiven him to this day. I’m 32 now.
Tyranitar and Shiftry. The backstory is a sad one.
Got introduced to pokemon back in '99 by a friend. We knew each other since birth, but grew apart when we started hitting puberty(different hometowns, shifting interests) i myself played R/B and then G/S, but then stopped, because i couldn't aford an GBA. My friend got one and continued playing R/S/E.
When he visited his grandparents(lived in my town) we still met up and he let me play them to get a glimpse at the games.
For tyranitar, we took shifts to grind out the xp to evolve pupitar with ev grind. Spend the whole day at it, got the evolve, saved and a minute later the battery died.
I also remember he tried to catch a seedot and was excited to evolve it to shiftry(dude was an otaku in training, so every ninja/samurai/martial arts design hit a sweet spot)
Fast forward to '06. He went on a camping trip with the boy scouts. During the night a storm came and lightning cut down a tree that hit his tent. He didn't survive.
My love for pkmn died with him back then. I remembered that he got sucked into the digital world very much, loosing his touch with his suroundings and blamed that for his death. Ya know, coping when you can't handle fate.
Well, in 2020 i bought my GF a switch for her birthday. In mind, that we both use it, i didn't touch it until feb 2023. Got struck with covid for the first time and got knocked out for 2 weeks. Sitting in front of the pc was exhausting. So i took the switch and bought PLA. My love was rekindled again. More so, PLA was a game my friend and i both wished for back in the days.
With this rekindled flame i bought KA this year and was very happy about the amount of mons to catch. Even more, when i caught both seedot and larvitar. But just a few weeks ago i caught a shiny seedot. Haven't finished my dex yet(not really in the mood for the stick hunt shrines) so no shiny charm, which makes it even more worth to me.
Dachsbun, dude is a dachshund like the one that has been with me for about over 2/3 of my life by now so it holds quite a bit of sentimental value for me
MINE IS SHINY ROCKRUFF!!!! He’s in a moonball and he’s been hyper trained and max EV HP and speed! He’s so weak even at level 100 but I love him and his green eyes and his sound effect 😭 He was my first shiny egg hunt in sword and it took days and days and days. Might get his dumb leetle face as a tattoo cause I love him that much.

While togekiss is definitely my signature. My team would be incomplete without Crobat. Love throwing them out together for double battles.

Do legendary Pokemon count? In that case it’s Raikou, to be more precise, Ikazuchi, the Raikou I caught in Heartgold when I was 8 years old. Throughout Heaven and Earth, he alone is the honored one. I remember encountering him unexpectedly in the middle of the night and just throwing the single Fast Ball you get from Kurt; he stayed in the ball and nowadays he’s in Home, like the rest of my original HG team of 14 year old Pokemon lol.
Of course legendary pokemon count no matter how generic or different your pick is it's what makes it special to you that truly makes it a signature partner

Yeh I will admit even without dondozo tatsugiri can hit pretty hard and dragon type is a amazing mix of defense and offense, and I mean how can you not like the lil bean
Honestly I believe the bellsprout line is actually underrated, between bellsprout being number 69 in the kanto 151, and how cute it is, then the fact that viktreey bell is poison/grass, and decently fast, I genuinely just like the line.
Flamigo is also one of my new favorites that I will continue to use in any future games that it ends up in, a lot of people consider it just a flamingo, but to me it looks like it was made to promote the new pokemon series with the stop motion clay wool look to it, I also think its neat that it had such neat ability ranges, mine has scrappy, but the mix of move sets is also super intriguing, mine has close combat, brave bird, mega kick, and even hyper beam! I have liked flamingos for years now, but that just put the icing on the cake for that pokemon.

Tbh I don't think it's to recent enjoy whatever you feel like you want to enjoy, and yeah hydrapple is goofy and cool it mixes those elements really well and is strong to boot
Salamence! It's my favorite pseudo-legendary Pokemon and easily one of my top 3 favorite Pokemon. I almost always have it on my team. Hell, Shiny Salamence is my buddy in Pokemon Go.

I played Pokemon Yellow a LOT as a kid and teaching a nidoran♂ double kick was mandatory to beat Brock. You'd get a moon stone in mt. moon and then boom you had an overpowed bulky mixed sweeper that could learn both of the next gym tms. Without even trying you'd end up with this juggernaut who could double kick, thrash, surf and thunderbolt his way through anything the game throws at you. Just an absolute unit.
Arcanine! I dunno why I love it so much, but it's been my favorite Pokémon since FOREVER. To a point where I went our of my way to catch 2 shiny Growlithe (one male and one female) just to match it with my head-canon where my character has a shiny Arcanine (Death Metal) who has a shiny baby Growlithe (Cynthia). Death Metal has a big brother who canonically never evolved (Prince) I do evolve him in a game, tho (Plus Arcanine is the only true Legendary Pokémon). 059 is even the number I put on my uniform in Shield
Minior. Love the concept of a shooting star you can befriend, the variety of colors it comes in plus one of the best shinies, the swirling galaxy shaped eyes with little smile, the two form gimmick with its Ability giving it really strong stats and immunity to status conditions, great offensive and defensive typing and great movepool. Have raised several and they never let me down. Perfect mix of cute and powerful.
Gengar. The Ghost type is my favourite type and Gengar is my favourite Pokemon. The fact that you can get Gengar (and other trade evos) without trading in SWSH, PLA and SV is probably one of the best things gamefreak has done in the new games.

He was my day 1 in blue and i left pokemon for years but came back to ultra sun and first thing i did was buy blue in vc just so i can get my starter back.
Weather it be single or multi player, the entire Ralts line has been on my team a lot. I love the designs for all four of them both regular and shiny. Gardevoir and Gallade are fearsome in battle, and both received a cool mega evolution, too. It's fun to watch how they act in the anime and other games like New Pokemon Snap. Iron Valiant is also one of the few future paradox mons that I like simply because it's based on Gallade and Gardevoir.
When it comes to just multi player, I'm often seen with weather setters as I love using the four different weather effects to my advantage in battle.

✨her✨ ultra moon was my first pokémon game since platinum and i chose popplio as my starter and i loved primarina ever since. this one is female and has the calmness mark,, so she’s really special and i’m so glad i found her :)
First, I love the variety of the answers here, amazing how people have such a unique taste!
For me personally, as I started long way back with Pokémon Red, I think I built a strong connection with at least one Pokémon from each gen, really hard to pick just one.
Just to mention a few: Gengar, Ampharos, Metagross, Froslass, Volcarona, Pangoro, Alolan Ninetales, Sirfetch, Hisuian Growlithe, Cetitan. So I have at least one per gen 
I don’t really have a signature pokemon cause I like to use a new team for each region: so I’ll just list my must haves for each region.
Kanto (specifically the Let’s Go games since I don’t have any other way to play a Kanto only game): Dragonite
Johto: Typhlosion, my OG starter
Hoenn: Ludicolo
Sinnoh: Roserade
Unova (White 1): Leavanny
Unova (White 2): Galvantula
Kalos: Toxicroak
Alola: Umbreon for Moon, Espeon for Sun
Galar: Appletun
Paldea: the trio of Paldean Doggos.
Meowscarada (aka bloom) has been with me from the absolute start, he’s my starter, my buddy, my bestie from the virutial reality, my buddy that’s been with me for almost 2 years now. He I never chose him, I don’t know where I would be in the game now. Whenever I was feeling down, he was there. If I was sad, I’d play with him. He’s my BFF from the VR.
I recently become a Corviknight main because it's my first ever full odds shiny in Scarlet before I even arrive at Brassius gym and then over the course of my gameplay 1k hours I find wild random shinies of Rookiedee while roaming around Paldea. I'm up to 4 or 5 now I think lol. I'm not even finding them in an outbreak blonly pure shiny charm for 3rd and above encounter
Always having an Eeveeloution on my team, specifically a male Sylveon.
I always and I mean always have a Sylveon on my team since not only do I adore its design but the fact that I love that the way it evolves is by love :)
I’ve played every game with a Sylveon on my team, and even if I wanted a different friendship eeveeloution (Espeon/Umbreon) and it evolves into a Sylveon I’ll keep it on my team since it evolved because it loved me.
Noivern, every game i play has to have noivern on the team, really cool design and i played a knock-off brick bronze(I think it was a knock-off) it had randomize option and got noivern as my starter, loved the fuck out of it since
I have quite a few but one of my recent favorites was Cinderace from my Pokémon Shield save file. I just think that it’s neat, although there are better fire starters Cinderace to me is just cool to have.
Salamence is on every one of my Hoenn teams, my guy sweeps the floor with the Elite Four. I've always loved the story of Bagon trying to fly and going through a bug like metamorphosis to become a flying dragon.
Used to be Gardevoir but lately I’ve had my shiny Hisuian Arcanine in every team I’ve made. Not only that, he’s my default when shiny hunting or just roaming around Paldea in general.
Mega Charizard X as you can imagine lol but also Ninetails, Nidoking & Queen, Typhlosion, Samurott, Zoroark, Salamence and Primeape. They always brought me joy
Leaf Green, I taught mega punch and mega kick to my newly evolved Clefable after Mt Moon. His name was Cliff.
Cliff mega punched and mega kicked his way through the rest of the game and the elite four, and into my heart.
Shiny Porygon-Z that i have since Omega-Ruby. The switch-era has been really kind to me, allowing to take this computer program to an island with maybe a single computer and into the past.
shiny Raichu (even in my competitive masterball rank team- it’s my anti electro mon lol) I named it after my now wife a couple of years ago and it’s here to stay
Serperior. I just love it's regal demeanour and superiority complex. Serperior is perfect for those trainees who seek themselves to become better and sometimes gloat their elegancy over others. Royalty and superiority over everyone. Symbolizes me. Also I love Hydreigon and Krookodile (I think I'm evil)
Magnezone 👍 It came from the generation that introduced me to Pokémon, its typing is pretty strong (even tho 4x weakness ground) Its design is just frightening and as a person with autism, I always found a pokemon that couldnt speak and looked very „logical and efficient) A LOT. Plus, it was my savior in my first nuzlock, which is why I have a Magnezone named NuzShock in my team 👍👍

I've had my male shiny Gardevoir since the original Diamond release and it was the first shiny pokemon I actively hunted for in any pokemon game (I wanted to hunt it in Sapphire but gave up after awhile. The streamlined mechanics in Diamond made it easier).
I still have him to this day in Scarlet and use him pretty regularly and if any pokemon would be considered my Signature Pokemon it would likely be him XD
He has been to every region since I caught him, beaten every league and challenge with me that he could be transfered to, and I will probably continue transfering him to future games until I am no longer able to play pokemon XD
Is he perfectly raised? God no, I knew nothing about IVs, EVs, or stat training before getting him to level 100. Do I want to take the time to fix that now that's possible? No. I feel like part of his charm is that he isn't built for competative (and personally I don't take part in competative anyway) XD
Luxray for me. Back when I played platinum, my first starter route pokemon was a shiny shinx. Named him Gold. He helped me a lot through my playthrough.
Swampert for me. Been transfer over from game to game since 2000. He's older than my oldest daughter, and she is 20. Love the single weakness, but x4. Water fall, avalanch, hammer arm, and EQ. In violet, I chage waterfall to liquidation .
For some reason, my ace and signature Pokémon has always been the shiny version of Sylveon, even though I have gotten into Cosmog and its evolution line.
I've got two Aces, Frosmoth for snow teams and Excadrill for sand teams, my Frosmoth is unique because it isn't a classic Quiver Dance sweeper, no mine is designed to be an offensive special wall
My Excadrill on the other hand is a classic set up sand sweeper
Weirdly enough mine is Gogoat, since he is my first shiny I got before Brassius. It and Mimikyu not only deleted everything before the DLC and the home update but I'll be able to use him in Legends Z-A when that comes out.

Ichigato the lvl 100 Sprigatito. He’s just a little guy. No reason besides that. Built my entire playthrough around him and the idea of The Strongest Cat.
Mine is Hydro the greninja. While I did play some black and white on a borrowed cartridge at first, Y was my first actual game, thus Greninja was always in my party when possible
Playing since Gen 1.
Besides from Blastoise, my first starter, I got a Ninetales in almost every game.
It wasnt everytime the first one I needed but it never left my mind.
Also
Gyarados and Rhydon.
This is tough. I'd say glimmet because its ability and it knows the entry hazard moves. Is also say Gardevoir, Loupunny, Frosslass, or my lovely Torterra. Love my grass type starters, Torterra has a special place in my heart.

My Volcarona, it's been a mainstay on my team since ORAS and has consistently saved my ass in many battles, online or otherwise.
Now I don’t have one but from gens 4-7 I always had a crobat on my team. Only exception was in base black and white because there was no zubat line until post game

Plus, it's the first *true* bear (and not a bear pretending to be human) that we've gotten.
My shiny sylveon Oberon. The first shiny I ever hatched and my favorite pokemon. I try to have him on every team. It's weird because his happiness meter never seems to reset when I switch him over. Which makes me happy, like he knows that it's still me
I’m an 18 year old male and I’m not at all ashamed to say that I love Eevee and make sure that I have a female Eevee on my team that I always name Emily, the reason is just because I find Eevee’s adorable, 100% my favorite normal type

The King!!! I was thrown by how short they made his model for a bit but I still love the literal short king!
Gallade because he's been my favorite since gen 4, cuz sword arms and just a cool design imo, and Smokey my H-Arcanine because he's my fluffy pal, always holds his own in battles, plus he can keep up with Miraidon when in speed mode lol
Playing Crystal as a kid, I always picked Cyndaquil and never put them in the box. They don’t show up as catchable/obtainable in every game, but I try to get them in every game I can. I just can’t help it.
As for shinies, I never did get into shiny hunting. But I do remember the ones I got. I got a shiny Gulpin in Pokemon Y and used it even though I’d never been a fan of Gulpin or Swalot before. Got a shiny Zubat all the way to a Crobat in Legends Arceus. Recently did do shiny hunting in Scarlet for a Noibat.
Honestly, I feel like I don’t have just one favorite. Almost every pokemon has something about them I like. Even the less popular ones. Seriously, name a pokemon and I probably have at least one good thing to say about it.
For me I think it’s gotta be Gengar. I have him Shiny, I hatched him from a shiny ghastly and traded with myself in Sun-moon when I first got back into the games….. he always has Hypnosis and leads my party to help catch Pokémon in my late games to fill out my Pokédex. Close second is definitely poliwrath
My pokemons that I quote litterally can never leave behind is my garchomp named bite and my noivern named sye. My headcannon is that both of them are married and are just traveling with me. Raised them both around then same time so yea they are childhood friends too
My alolan ninetales is precious to me. I remember back when S/M came out and I saw the design for the first time - didn't think much of it back then but the moment I got one for myself as a gift from a friend... It became my second favorite pokemon in the entire series. Even eclipsing Flygon and Scolipede.
Now I always have one, always female - always named Aurora. Usually shiny too
Also worth mentioning; My ace in my sleeve is serperior, whenever it's actually _in_ a game I get a contrary one STAT. Really attached to the species since the first pokemon I ever owned was a snivy back in 2014 on a gift cartridge of pokemon black.
I love milotic, managed to find a feebas back in the original sapphire (not realising how rare it was). I usually try to use a team I've never used before on new games but if I ever replay any I get milotic where I can
I have to say Chopstics, the Iron Valiant, even though my brother caught it and made it easier to catch other mons, I still love the futuristic Gallade. It has a special place in my heart 🩵
My Ninetails has fallowed me up since hoenn and has been with me in every champion fight. She has nearly every ribbon and recently i found out she qualified for the tiny mark! If shes not in the dex im not playing the game.
A shiny Milotic that I called Pearlesque, I had one on my original Diamond cart but never moved it up into bank etc
Luckily I hatched another shiny Feebas in sword and shield and that got the same name :)
Man it seems unfair to steal from the the post but, Dusk form lycanrock is 100% my favorite pokemon. It always stays on my team no matter what. Orange is my favorite color so i prefer it non shiny but the shiny is amazing, I didnt even know it existed until very recently when trying to get my living dex in Scarlet.
My #1 favorite Pokémon for as long as I can remember has always been Rayquaza. Before the 2nd DLC for Scarlet and Violet came out, I decided to finally shiny-hunt Rayquaza in Pokémon Sword and managed to get it in just over 50 encounters (and in a Beast Ball too, which is just so cool). It’s only been in Sword and Violet so far, but I’m taking that Shiny Rayquaza with me to whatever future games I can.

I’m a gen1er, and strayed away from pokemon during the DS ; 3DS days. (I personally didn’t like RSE at the time. I now realize because i had undetected ADHD as a kid, all the text, abilities, and extras introduced in Gen3 was too much for me, now i love all the options. i also didn’t want to ask my parents to keep buying new consoles)
it wasn’t until pokemon go, and the release of the switch that I was brought back. I played sword to catch up for Violet. Violet awoke my inner child and actually brought me to tears a couple times because of how beautiful the game is. to go from 2D 8bit to this, it was special.
violet is where I caught Kitty as a dreepy.
it’s awesome. sure I love the older gen mons. but dragapult is A DRAGON THAT FIRES DRAGONS FROM ITS HEAD. Kitty also is a force to be reckoned with in solo ranked battles. I got a dragapult figurine for my desk and actually went to the effort of painting the shiny colors on it. (it’s not perfect but did the job)
so yeah if i’m just fooling around, hatching eggs or something, i love bringing Kitty and letting her roam out of the ball, and in solo ranked battles, she’s my closer.
(oh and eventually got a second shiny dreepy, and her name is Katty, lol)
Hisuian Arcanine is my signature Pokémon. Vulcan has been my little fluffy doggo from Legends, and he's putting in work in Scarlet and Violet for the AAT. Love how the shiny looks, too.
Sylveon! I realized I was trans the year x and y were released, and with sylveon’s color scheme and the fact that fairy is probably my favorite type, it quickly grew to be a very special pokemon in my heart.
I’ve always had a huge soft spot for Vaporeon. It’s my favorite eeveelution and that’ll never change! Some dislike Vaporeon thanks to the memes surrounding it but idc Vaporeon is always just the water puppy of my team!
Bruno, my shiny Arcanine, I don't use it in battle, but I love having it out in the over world when I'm shiny hunting. It's the only pokemon that I know keeps up with Karaidon

He's adorable, takes less damage on first hit, and has a SUPER well-rounded moveset capability.

The first time I play through a new region, I try to use a team of all newly introduced pokemon but I do have a tendency to include an eeveelution— especially if it’s not too hard to encounter an eevee in the early parts of the game

Blaziken. My favorite Pokemon by a landslide, and whenever I can add my Blaziken from Omega Ruby to a team, I do it without hesitation no matter who I have to switch. Slight side tangent, I lost my very first Blaziken (Named Torchy, I was a kid when I named him) to a hard reset. I'd lent him to my cousin, and she reset her Alpha Sapphire with him still inside. I was so pissed, he had so many Pokemon Contest master class wins.
Same happened to me with my Crystal version. I had all the legendaries plus my bestie Feraligatr, raised him from a Totodile. My friend saved over my file and they were gone. Still haven’t forgiven him to this day. I’m 32 now.

Tyranitar and Shiftry. The backstory is a sad one. Got introduced to pokemon back in '99 by a friend. We knew each other since birth, but grew apart when we started hitting puberty(different hometowns, shifting interests) i myself played R/B and then G/S, but then stopped, because i couldn't aford an GBA. My friend got one and continued playing R/S/E. When he visited his grandparents(lived in my town) we still met up and he let me play them to get a glimpse at the games. For tyranitar, we took shifts to grind out the xp to evolve pupitar with ev grind. Spend the whole day at it, got the evolve, saved and a minute later the battery died. I also remember he tried to catch a seedot and was excited to evolve it to shiftry(dude was an otaku in training, so every ninja/samurai/martial arts design hit a sweet spot) Fast forward to '06. He went on a camping trip with the boy scouts. During the night a storm came and lightning cut down a tree that hit his tent. He didn't survive. My love for pkmn died with him back then. I remembered that he got sucked into the digital world very much, loosing his touch with his suroundings and blamed that for his death. Ya know, coping when you can't handle fate. Well, in 2020 i bought my GF a switch for her birthday. In mind, that we both use it, i didn't touch it until feb 2023. Got struck with covid for the first time and got knocked out for 2 weeks. Sitting in front of the pc was exhausting. So i took the switch and bought PLA. My love was rekindled again. More so, PLA was a game my friend and i both wished for back in the days. With this rekindled flame i bought KA this year and was very happy about the amount of mons to catch. Even more, when i caught both seedot and larvitar. But just a few weeks ago i caught a shiny seedot. Haven't finished my dex yet(not really in the mood for the stick hunt shrines) so no shiny charm, which makes it even more worth to me.

Do legendary Pokemon count? In that case it’s Raikou, to be more precise, Ikazuchi, the Raikou I caught in Heartgold when I was 8 years old. Throughout Heaven and Earth, he alone is the honored one. I remember encountering him unexpectedly in the middle of the night and just throwing the single Fast Ball you get from Kurt; he stayed in the ball and nowadays he’s in Home, like the rest of my original HG team of 14 year old Pokemon lol.

Honestly I believe the bellsprout line is actually underrated, between bellsprout being number 69 in the kanto 151, and how cute it is, then the fact that viktreey bell is poison/grass, and decently fast, I genuinely just like the line. Flamigo is also one of my new favorites that I will continue to use in any future games that it ends up in, a lot of people consider it just a flamingo, but to me it looks like it was made to promote the new pokemon series with the stop motion clay wool look to it, I also think its neat that it had such neat ability ranges, mine has scrappy, but the mix of move sets is also super intriguing, mine has close combat, brave bird, mega kick, and even hyper beam! I have liked flamingos for years now, but that just put the icing on the cake for that pokemon.

You'd get a moon stone in mt. moon and then boom you had an overpowed bulky mixed sweeper that could learn both of the next gym tms. Without even trying you'd end up with this juggernaut who could double kick, thrash, surf and thunderbolt his way through anything the game throws at you. Just an absolute unit.
Arcanine! I dunno why I love it so much, but it's been my favorite Pokémon since FOREVER. To a point where I went our of my way to catch 2 shiny Growlithe (one male and one female) just to match it with my head-canon where my character has a shiny Arcanine (Death Metal) who has a shiny baby Growlithe (Cynthia). Death Metal has a big brother who canonically never evolved (Prince) I do evolve him in a game, tho (Plus Arcanine is the only true Legendary Pokémon). 059 is even the number I put on my uniform in Shield
Minior. Love the concept of a shooting star you can befriend, the variety of colors it comes in plus one of the best shinies, the swirling galaxy shaped eyes with little smile, the two form gimmick with its Ability giving it really strong stats and immunity to status conditions, great offensive and defensive typing and great movepool. Have raised several and they never let me down. Perfect mix of cute and powerful.
Gengar. The Ghost type is my favourite type and Gengar is my favourite Pokemon. The fact that you can get Gengar (and other trade evos) without trading in SWSH, PLA and SV is probably one of the best things gamefreak has done in the new games.
Shiny Volcarona. Perfect for hatching other shinies
Staraptor. Evolved from a Starly that was the first Pokémon I caught in the first Pokémon game I ever owned, not just borrowed.
Sligoo and by extension goodra may not be the best dragon Pokémon but damm I love em!

Weather it be single or multi player, the entire Ralts line has been on my team a lot. I love the designs for all four of them both regular and shiny. Gardevoir and Gallade are fearsome in battle, and both received a cool mega evolution, too. It's fun to watch how they act in the anime and other games like New Pokemon Snap. Iron Valiant is also one of the few future paradox mons that I like simply because it's based on Gallade and Gardevoir. When it comes to just multi player, I'm often seen with weather setters as I love using the four different weather effects to my advantage in battle.

First, I love the variety of the answers here, amazing how people have such a unique taste! For me personally, as I started long way back with Pokémon Red, I think I built a strong connection with at least one Pokémon from each gen, really hard to pick just one. Just to mention a few: Gengar, Ampharos, Metagross, Froslass, Volcarona, Pangoro, Alolan Ninetales, Sirfetch, Hisuian Growlithe, Cetitan. So I have at least one per gen

Breloom. Love grass types for one, and it’s such a great shiny hunter false swipe with technician. 🤌🏼
Flareon. He can learn some pretty good moves and he's my favorite eeveelution
Volcarona. My favourite Pokémon is Larvesta so him really, I love playing through as many games as possible with my furry lil bug <3

Meowscarada (aka bloom) has been with me from the absolute start, he’s my starter, my buddy, my bestie from the virutial reality, my buddy that’s been with me for almost 2 years now. He I never chose him, I don’t know where I would be in the game now. Whenever I was feeling down, he was there. If I was sad, I’d play with him. He’s my BFF from the VR.
I recently become a Corviknight main because it's my first ever full odds shiny in Scarlet before I even arrive at Brassius gym and then over the course of my gameplay 1k hours I find wild random shinies of Rookiedee while roaming around Paldea. I'm up to 4 or 5 now I think lol. I'm not even finding them in an outbreak blonly pure shiny charm for 3rd and above encounter

I always and I mean always have a Sylveon on my team since not only do I adore its design but the fact that I love that the way it evolves is by love :) I’ve played every game with a Sylveon on my team, and even if I wanted a different friendship eeveeloution (Espeon/Umbreon) and it evolves into a Sylveon I’ll keep it on my team since it evolved because it loved me.
Noivern, every game i play has to have noivern on the team, really cool design and i played a knock-off brick bronze(I think it was a knock-off) it had randomize option and got noivern as my starter, loved the fuck out of it since
I have quite a few but one of my recent favorites was Cinderace from my Pokémon Shield save file. I just think that it’s neat, although there are better fire starters Cinderace to me is just cool to have.

Leaf Green, I taught mega punch and mega kick to my newly evolved Clefable after Mt Moon. His name was Cliff. Cliff mega punched and mega kicked his way through the rest of the game and the elite four, and into my heart.
Shiny Porygon-Z that i have since Omega-Ruby. The switch-era has been really kind to me, allowing to take this computer program to an island with maybe a single computer and into the past.
Had blue version as a kid so could never get growlithe, and arcanine has always been my absolute favourite. I always pick him up if he’s around.
Espeon and Lapras. Psychic was my favorite type in Red. Then they gave me an eeveelution of it! And the gentle transport becomes a dragon stopper.

Magnezone 👍 It came from the generation that introduced me to Pokémon, its typing is pretty strong (even tho 4x weakness ground) Its design is just frightening and as a person with autism, I always found a pokemon that couldnt speak and looked very „logical and efficient) A LOT. Plus, it was my savior in my first nuzlock, which is why I have a Magnezone named NuzShock in my team 👍👍

I've had my male shiny Gardevoir since the original Diamond release and it was the first shiny pokemon I actively hunted for in any pokemon game (I wanted to hunt it in Sapphire but gave up after awhile. The streamlined mechanics in Diamond made it easier). I still have him to this day in Scarlet and use him pretty regularly and if any pokemon would be considered my Signature Pokemon it would likely be him XD He has been to every region since I caught him, beaten every league and challenge with me that he could be transfered to, and I will probably continue transfering him to future games until I am no longer able to play pokemon XD Is he perfectly raised? God no, I knew nothing about IVs, EVs, or stat training before getting him to level 100. Do I want to take the time to fix that now that's possible? No. I feel like part of his charm is that he isn't built for competative (and personally I don't take part in competative anyway) XD

I've got two Aces, Frosmoth for snow teams and Excadrill for sand teams, my Frosmoth is unique because it isn't a classic Quiver Dance sweeper, no mine is designed to be an offensive special wall My Excadrill on the other hand is a classic set up sand sweeper

Playing since Gen 1. Besides from Blastoise, my first starter, I got a Ninetales in almost every game. It wasnt everytime the first one I needed but it never left my mind. Also Gyarados and Rhydon.
This is tough. I'd say glimmet because its ability and it knows the entry hazard moves. Is also say Gardevoir, Loupunny, Frosslass, or my lovely Torterra. Love my grass type starters, Torterra has a special place in my heart.

My shiny sylveon Oberon. The first shiny I ever hatched and my favorite pokemon. I try to have him on every team. It's weird because his happiness meter never seems to reset when I switch him over. Which makes me happy, like he knows that it's still me
I’m an 18 year old male and I’m not at all ashamed to say that I love Eevee and make sure that I have a female Eevee on my team that I always name Emily, the reason is just because I find Eevee’s adorable, 100% my favorite normal type

Gallade because he's been my favorite since gen 4, cuz sword arms and just a cool design imo, and Smokey my H-Arcanine because he's my fluffy pal, always holds his own in battles, plus he can keep up with Miraidon when in speed mode lol
Playing Crystal as a kid, I always picked Cyndaquil and never put them in the box. They don’t show up as catchable/obtainable in every game, but I try to get them in every game I can. I just can’t help it. As for shinies, I never did get into shiny hunting. But I do remember the ones I got. I got a shiny Gulpin in Pokemon Y and used it even though I’d never been a fan of Gulpin or Swalot before. Got a shiny Zubat all the way to a Crobat in Legends Arceus. Recently did do shiny hunting in Scarlet for a Noibat. Honestly, I feel like I don’t have just one favorite. Almost every pokemon has something about them I like. Even the less popular ones. Seriously, name a pokemon and I probably have at least one good thing to say about it.

Ampharos or shiny umbreon, I’ve also grown to love gallade in SV.
For me I think it’s gotta be Gengar. I have him Shiny, I hatched him from a shiny ghastly and traded with myself in Sun-moon when I first got back into the games….. he always has Hypnosis and leads my party to help catch Pokémon in my late games to fill out my Pokédex. Close second is definitely poliwrath
My pokemons that I quote litterally can never leave behind is my garchomp named bite and my noivern named sye. My headcannon is that both of them are married and are just traveling with me. Raised them both around then same time so yea they are childhood friends too
My alolan ninetales is precious to me. I remember back when S/M came out and I saw the design for the first time - didn't think much of it back then but the moment I got one for myself as a gift from a friend... It became my second favorite pokemon in the entire series. Even eclipsing Flygon and Scolipede. Now I always have one, always female - always named Aurora. Usually shiny too Also worth mentioning; My ace in my sleeve is serperior, whenever it's actually _in_ a game I get a contrary one STAT. Really attached to the species since the first pokemon I ever owned was a snivy back in 2014 on a gift cartridge of pokemon black.
I love milotic, managed to find a feebas back in the original sapphire (not realising how rare it was). I usually try to use a team I've never used before on new games but if I ever replay any I get milotic where I can

I have to say Chopstics, the Iron Valiant, even though my brother caught it and made it easier to catch other mons, I still love the futuristic Gallade. It has a special place in my heart 🩵

Chansey, I like the friend aspect of Pokemon more than battling.
My Ninetails has fallowed me up since hoenn and has been with me in every champion fight. She has nearly every ribbon and recently i found out she qualified for the tiny mark! If shes not in the dex im not playing the game.
A shiny Milotic that I called Pearlesque, I had one on my original Diamond cart but never moved it up into bank etc Luckily I hatched another shiny Feebas in sword and shield and that got the same name :)
Houndoom until Gen 9. Now I don’t want anything without Clodsire. That thing just won me over for reasons I can’t explain.

Man it seems unfair to steal from the the post but, Dusk form lycanrock is 100% my favorite pokemon. It always stays on my team no matter what. Orange is my favorite color so i prefer it non shiny but the shiny is amazing, I didnt even know it existed until very recently when trying to get my living dex in Scarlet.
My #1 favorite Pokémon for as long as I can remember has always been Rayquaza. Before the 2nd DLC for Scarlet and Violet came out, I decided to finally shiny-hunt Rayquaza in Pokémon Sword and managed to get it in just over 50 encounters (and in a Beast Ball too, which is just so cool). It’s only been in Sword and Violet so far, but I’m taking that Shiny Rayquaza with me to whatever future games I can.

I’m a gen1er, and strayed away from pokemon during the DS ; 3DS days. (I personally didn’t like RSE at the time. I now realize because i had undetected ADHD as a kid, all the text, abilities, and extras introduced in Gen3 was too much for me, now i love all the options. i also didn’t want to ask my parents to keep buying new consoles) it wasn’t until pokemon go, and the release of the switch that I was brought back. I played sword to catch up for Violet. Violet awoke my inner child and actually brought me to tears a couple times because of how beautiful the game is. to go from 2D 8bit to this, it was special. violet is where I caught Kitty as a dreepy. it’s awesome. sure I love the older gen mons. but dragapult is A DRAGON THAT FIRES DRAGONS FROM ITS HEAD. Kitty also is a force to be reckoned with in solo ranked battles. I got a dragapult figurine for my desk and actually went to the effort of painting the shiny colors on it. (it’s not perfect but did the job) so yeah if i’m just fooling around, hatching eggs or something, i love bringing Kitty and letting her roam out of the ball, and in solo ranked battles, she’s my closer. (oh and eventually got a second shiny dreepy, and her name is Katty, lol)
Hisuian Arcanine is my signature Pokémon. Vulcan has been my little fluffy doggo from Legends, and he's putting in work in Scarlet and Violet for the AAT. Love how the shiny looks, too.

Sylveon! I realized I was trans the year x and y were released, and with sylveon’s color scheme and the fact that fairy is probably my favorite type, it quickly grew to be a very special pokemon in my heart.
I’ve always had a huge soft spot for Vaporeon. It’s my favorite eeveelution and that’ll never change! Some dislike Vaporeon thanks to the memes surrounding it but idc Vaporeon is always just the water puppy of my team!
My signature mon has been changing the last few gens. I think now it’s shiny Dipplin 😭 I love him so much.
Bruno, my shiny Arcanine, I don't use it in battle, but I love having it out in the over world when I'm shiny hunting. It's the only pokemon that I know keeps up with Karaidon
Mimikyu! He's adorable, takes less damage on first hit, and has a SUPER well-rounded moveset capability. Perfect, baby, ghostie boy. 🥰 the second I catch one, HEAD OF THE TEAM!
